After countless woodworking videos, I stumbled onto this video and it is the first one that my wife also enjoyed. After watching she even expressed interest in learning woodworking (wow!) and setting up a shop. THANK YOU. The boxes are both beautiful! Great technique, design and engaging video.
just incase you wanted to know, i work at a cabinet/drawer shop and have learned light years more from you, than i have in 6 months at work. thats for impowering the masses. its appreciated.
this woman gives off like an energetic bob ross vibe. Ive been wanting to get back into wood working. i havent done it since high school. I love the content of your videos!
My battle with esophagus cancer was put in perspective each time I walked the halls of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. These brave warriors battle this terrible disease every minute with courage unmatched. Tears shed for our fallen warriors. God bless our caregivers and warriors. Thank you for your support. ❤️ Keep the faith and kick cancers ass.
I'm 40 years a tradesman and sit at home all day due to illness these days. I look forward to your videos coming out. They are always well made and always great projects also well made. Thank you for the entertainment.Your skills have come on so fast. Beware! Box making is addictive!
Tamar you are a great joy to watch, listen to and learn from. My wife is interested in learning woodworking. We are going to have fun learning together from you! Thank you so much for sharing the wonderful gifts God has given you with us all!
Those came out great Tamar! And I agree that the little boarder detail on the top takes it up a notch! Nice to see other makers are caught up in the pattern making bug...
You sell yourself short Girl, those boxes are absolutely beautiful. Especially when you oiled them, they really popped. Amazing stuff. I don't like going off point but i have to mention your immaculate hands and fingernails...How ? Every Carpenter/woodworker i have ever known has gnarly ol digits, bits missing here and there and enough dirt under their nails to grow flowers. Kudos where kudos is due. Last, but not least, i now know why i can never find wood glue...you are using the world's supply in your workshop😉....Absolute Respect and peace to you.
Tamar, beautiful boxes by a beautiful lady. thanks for undertaking the Beads of courage boxes. yes the children will enjoy those tremendously, and I’m impressed with your patterns that you created from your scraps.
Holy scrap! What beautiful boxes for a great cause. Those beads are truly inspiring, a great way to show the many struggles these children have faced. And put the "weight" of it into perspective. Thanks for bringing this to our attention
Thanks so much! I couldn’t not make a box after watching the video. A lot of the boxes that are sent in are turned boxes. Would love to try these patterns on a lathe. One day when I get a lathe....
@@3x3CustomTamar I noticed that on their website, and promptly signed up for the newsletter they have. Hopefully I can make some boxes later this year/ early next year. Lathes are awesome! Alot of "quick win" projects you can do on them, which is nice.
I've enjoyed watching your skills grow through your videos and this has been my favourite one so far. Don't be so hard on the first box, they are both beautiful. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next one!
Thanks so much! This was one of my favorite projects too. I’m happy I was hard on myself for the first one bc now I know how to make them better for the future 😉
These boxes are extremely cool. What a great way to use up some scraps and help a worthwhile cause. You can never go wrong when you reach out to help somebody who is in need. We all need to follow your example.
Thanks so much! It was so fun to experiment. And honestly when he first sent me the email I wanted to say no. Then I watched the video. And I couldn’t.
I’m just getting my feet wet in woodworking and find your videos not only helpful but inspiring. Truly appreciate your time and effort in making and sharing these. VERY well done.
First thing : Your talent is awesome but your modesty, ingenuity and presence is even more awesome. I just watched the Beads Of Courage video and my oh my it is humbling how brave and positive the children are going through an experience that is so much in the balance of life and death. The Beads Of Courage programme is a wonderful way to help them on their journey to hopefully have a full and fulfilling life.
I really like how humane these videos are. I mean, here you could see a woodworker as a living human being with some doubts and inevitable mistakes, not a flawless woodworking machine. I think it's really great! Thank you very much, Tamar!
WOW, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! I have watch countless other woodworking RUclips videos, you bring a fresh approach with such enthusiasm and love of what you are doing. Thank you and keep them coming!!!!!
This made me really appreciate the craftsmanship behind these boxes. I came here hoping to learn to make a patterned box and have now realized my skills pale in comparison! Absolutely beautiful work.
Great boxes for a great cause. Instead of lining the box, you ca achieve a registration by routing a groove on the interior slightly over half the thickness and rout an offset groove on the outside to separate the pieces.
How i am being recommended this video i dont know but i love it. I came from a family of carpenter and never bored to see such beautiful work and explanations. Is everyone really blind to see how beautiful is the carpenter apart from the work? I really love seeing you working untiring and talking without boring. First time viewer here and subbed you.
Beautiful work and craftmanship. It gave me a bit of anxiety the amount of work and steps to build these. I will not be trying this out but I applaud your dedication! Amazing!
love your humility and honesty about mistakes, It gives others comfort going into new projects. I really envy you having a full garage to work in. I enjoy watching you work you are good at what you do. when i get to retire about 6 months from now i am going to try some of your projects.
The boxes look fantastic, and those patterns make great cutting boards if you made coasters with the same pattern they would make lovely Christmas presents that anyone would love to receive.
Hi Tamar, great boxes for a great charity. I loved the chevron pattern and the different species of wood are stunning. From off cuts and scraps to beautiful boxes. Your enthusiasm really comes across in your video's. Thanks for sharing
Beads of Courage is a fantastic program, thank you so much for supporting them. It was quite a comfort for me to track the beads while my baby was getting treatment. And because he was a baby, he did not care but they also have a sibling portion that big brother loves. Thank you again and can’t wait to try my hand at this ❤️
Absolutely gorgeous boxes and made for a great cause. I was so mesmerized with how these turned out. Love that inlay you did. Such great contrast. Loving all those wood colors. Especially when the oil brought them to life. Wow!!! You amaze me with each video you share. Thanks again as always for sharing your knowledge and keep up the great work. I love your editing skills. Wish everyone on RUclips understood when to speed up the video and explaining things to the point and not carrying on and on. I can watch your videos over and over and over again. It would take me years to get around to attempting something like this, but I want to one day. You are such a blessing. Thank you.
Those boxes are amazing, but it was your near magical talent and outstanding presentation that moved me to my first RUclips comment. Going to be a long night of binge watching the remainder of your videos. I think it's going to be awesome!!!!!!
Tamar, your skills are growing by leaps and bounds. I'm talking all aspects from design & camera to finished product... Love these. No mistakes - just happy accidents. Oh and your ingenuity is showing ... Don't fix that.
Tamar - one suggestion on the "puzzle box" look -- glue a small pull tab strip to close the gap and make it an obvious place to pull ... Chris Salamone - Four Eyes - did something like this on drawers.
Just stumbled across your channel and I can’t stop watching. You have such great ideas and I can’t wait to try them for myself. Thank you for the way you explain everything so clearly, can’t wait to make people smile with great gifts I learned from your videos!
Simply marvelous! I wish I had your vision for creativity! I am truly envious. You are also, in my opinion, very professional regarding your woodworking skills. I love watching your videos. Thanks!
I have been watching you from the beginning and WOW have you picked up wood working!! Your talent has hit light speed with precision! Thanks for sharing your time and talent!
Did you ever work in wider industry as a designer? You have a way of doing things which really floats my boat! I had a fairly decent career as an electronics designer, progressing through from small companies to slightly less small ones, including one which won the world F1 constructors' title for six seasons running. But still with a friendly, do it all feel. I could design everything from the boxes to the integrated circuits inside them, and everything in between, the printed circuits, all the circuits themselves, and the software to go with it all, both inside and outside the boxes. But the boxes were my favourite bit! I love to design the complete product, it gives so much more to you to be able to balance all the elements to produce your vision of what it should be. In meetings I had to present some kind of plan as to what I intended to do. Of course, you don't know until it's nearly finished, so I told stories. Nearly thirty years of doing everything on very short deadlines in a place where you simply had to deliver, I was exhausted. Your videos really resonate with what I really want to do now I am in my sixties. Thank you so much! I realise you probably have other priorities, your kids must be so proud of you! But please keep these coming when you can!
Love the genuine joy and happiness you express and such beautiful pieces - the clunk as the lid goes on the box is a total winner - and I love the speedy style of delivery - getting your thought processes as you work through is really insightful and inspirational - I guess that the offcuts being stored for some time there'll be little differential change in size of the pieces over time - my favourite series of how-to so far!!! Thanks!
What a great great use (and validation) of scrap wood. It's for a great cause, great colors, great creativity and you make the BEST use of your jigs. I'm interested in how you store all these, but I'm really impressed how you show their practical use. Thanks for the video.
I love all of your projects, but I think my favorite bits are your ending parts where you talk about what you did and didn’t like about the choices you made, and how you would fix/ change what you did. Really good work Tamar!!
First : love the little waving fingers in the first few minutes of the video. Gota love kids . Next : I am the same way with saving every little piece of wood ,scrap and extra from every previous project. Finally : ya gota love when an experiment comes together and looks as good as yours does. I hope one day I am blessed with a wife that wood works beside me . I think it's great that more woman are getting into woodworking every year. Thanks for sharing , take care Tamar .
Beautiful boxes! You are SO creative. It has been so much fun watching you evolve as a woodworker. I love the way you just 'figure things out' intuitively. I am truly envious of your innovative and creative methods in not only your designs but also with your mechanics and jigs you develop to achieve your design goals. Please keep sharing your wonderful projects.
With the look of these boxes, making a bathroom makeup organizer/holder would be awesome! Especially because no one else has built a makeup drawer or cabinet etc.
I only came across this video now while looking for inspiration for a sliding lid box. As usual, and absolutely brilliant video and awesome boxes. Love your work so much.
I know you have a ton of tools, and that's awesome and expected for RUclips woodworkers, but I have to say I love the fact that you use a jobsite table saw. Gives me hope that I can make things just as beautiful!
The boxes are absolutely beautiful......just as your heart is for making them for such a worthy cause! I always learn something from your videos and your narration is great as well. Keep up the great work and best wishes to you!!!
You are truly a gifted person. I really enjoyed this video, it is giving me inspiration to try my hand at some box making. I always learn something new when I watch your video. I think your shooting board is cool, just developing my hand planning skill sets. Thank you.
After countless woodworking videos, I stumbled onto this video and it is the first one that my wife also enjoyed. After watching she even expressed interest in learning woodworking (wow!) and setting up a shop. THANK YOU.
The boxes are both beautiful! Great technique, design and engaging video.
That’s awesome to hear! Hope she gets into it! It’s so fun.
Does that mean she’s giving you a green light to build yourself a shop? ;) haha
Matt Fairfield Yes, but it’s a trap to get us to buy a larger house.
Adam Kaplan hahaha ohhhh, well maybe the garage you have now isn’t so bad after all... 😂
Gotta rush home and show my wife this video!
just incase you wanted to know, i work at a cabinet/drawer shop and have learned light years more from you, than i have in 6 months at work. thats for impowering the masses. its appreciated.

Very nice boxes, Tamar !! I enjoy making boxes. It's one project that never gets old for me. Thanks for the video !!
Thanks! They are really fun to make!

Haha! Moisturizer. And yeah. I’m an overgluer. I know it’s a problem. But for some reason when the glue up starts all sense goes out the window
The finished product looks amazing! I love the triangle pattern with inlay.
Thanks so much!
Tamar, beautiful boxes by a beautiful lady. thanks for undertaking the Beads of courage boxes. yes the children will enjoy those tremendously, and I’m impressed with your patterns that you created from your scraps.

I followed your link to BOC. Who's cutting onions in here? Something's in my eye. My allergies are kicking up.
Seriously, thank you for sharing this.
Yeah. Now you see why I couldn’t say no.
I followed the same link, no chopped onions but, all of a sudden it got very dusty in here, Love the look of those boxes too. Subbed.
I'm blown away by your approach to woodworking.

Keepsake boxes and jigs for helping make them is my hobby and passion. Your videos are just what I need! Thanks Tamar!
That’s awesome to hear!
Wow! You're incredibly inspiring. Love it. Thank you.
The best thing I like about your videos is that you show where you can improve or where you made a mistake just like the rest of us would.
This has to be the most beautiful box that i've ever seen
Awesome work! :D
Thanks so much!
Thank you for not hiding your mistakes. I learn so much from seeing and hearing you problem solving. You're a great teacher.
Awesome to hear ☺️
Wow - So clever and so beautiful.

Parafinn Lamp ditto!
Thanks. You're not alone in hoarding scrap wood. I like the way you used the wood.
I've turned several bowls for Beads of Courage.
Glad to know I’m not alone. Ha. I would love to try turning patterns like this. Hope to get a lathe one day
Great work as usual! These boxes came out awesome; love the patterns! Thanks for sharing and congrats on 100k!

That inlay on the top came out great. Brilliant use of the trim router.
You are, frankly, a woodworking baller. Those boxes are just lovely.
Thanks so much!
Holy crap! These are beautiful! You’re the first female woodworker I’ve watched and I am blown away with your skill.
Thanks so much!
Not every carpenter has this vision. I congratulate you again. You are great.
So glad you like it. Thanks! ☺️🤘

pt eddie I hope you can be inspired to participate by building a box for the beads of courage program. Best of luck Bodie.
That inlay! Such a small detail but added so much character to the design
Right?! Made all the difference.

Before i watch this (informative, I'm sure) video, i must say that your scrap bin is nicer than my scrap bin!

Thanks! The devil is in the details 😉

Fantastic skill and craftsmanship you put into these boxes! They looked amazing! 👍🏴🇬🇧
The boxes look fantastic, and those patterns make great cutting boards if you made coasters with the same pattern they would make lovely Christmas presents that anyone would love to receive.
Thanks so much! Totally agree! I want to experiment with more of my scraps!
Hi Tamar, great boxes for a great charity. I loved the chevron pattern and the different species of wood are stunning. From off cuts and scraps to beautiful boxes. Your enthusiasm really comes across in your video's. Thanks for sharing
So glad you like them. Thanks!
Beads of Courage is a fantastic program, thank you so much for supporting them. It was quite a comfort for me to track the beads while my baby was getting treatment. So awesome to hear! I hope you enjoyed!
Beautiful. If you inlaid with Spanish cedar would make a great gift as a cigar box. Very nice.
Fantastic craftsmanship, and one of the best narrated/explained projects!
So glad you liked it. Thanks!
Those inlay strips in the lid really really polished off the look. Came out awesome!
Thanks! So happy I decided to add them
Tamar, your skills are growing by leaps and bounds.
Thanks so much! I appreciate that. That would be interesting to add. Never saw that video
Just stumbled across your channel and I can’t stop watching. You have such great ideas and I can’t wait to try them for myself. Thank you for the way you explain everything so clearly, can’t wait to make people smile with great gifts I learned from your videos!
So glad you like them!
Simply marvelous! I wish I had your vision for creativity! I am truly envious. You are also, in my opinion, very professional regarding your woodworking skills. I love watching your videos. Thanks!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Just could not stop watching. Wow, lady!
Ha! Glad you liked it
I have been watching you from the beginning and WOW have you picked up wood working!! Your talent has hit light speed with precision! Thanks for sharing your time and talent!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Nope! This is it. Ha I’m just a stay at home mom that likes to build things
The hidden spline blew my mind-such skill and creativity. Thank you.
Thanks! That was fun to figure out
Hi Tamar. You are turning into quite a woodworker. Beautiful job. I want to make your jigs. They came in handy here. Thanks for sharing.
Ha! I love my jigs.
Thanks!
So glad you like it. Thanks!
Effort alot with professional way, in the end boxes looks nice 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks!
That was a very clever little box. I took some notes. I'll be checking out that kerf maker and thin rip jig. Thanks for sharing!
What a great great use (and validation) of scrap wood. It's for a great cause, great colors, great creativity and you make the BEST use of your jigs. I'm interested in how you store all these, but I'm really impressed how you show their practical use. Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much! These were so fun to make. I have shelves under all my workbenches and those house all the jigs ☺️
I love all of your projects, but I think my favorite bits are your ending parts where you talk about what you did and didn’t like about the choices you made, and how you would fix/ change what you did. Really good work Tamar!!
Thanks! Awesome to hear that feedback!
Outstanding craftswomenship. Enjoyed the video and you triggered some other ideas for woodworking projects. Cheers.
So awesome to hear. Thanks!
They're absolutely wonderful boxes! I've always loved contrasting woods seen together. Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much! It’s a really cool look. I def want to do it more
I love the speed of the narration on your videos. I watch every other video on RUclips at 2x, but with yours 1x is just fine. Great job.
That’s so awesome to hear. Sometimes I’m concerned that it’s too fast. Awesome.
3x3Custom - Tamar Way too fast for me, sorry.
I'm completely stunned for your creativity, resources and skills! Congrats! Regards from México 🇲🇽. Beautiful work based on scraps!
Thanks so much!
First : love the little waving fingers in the first few minutes of the video. Gota love kids .

That looks great! Nice use of scraps!
Thanks so much! Good thing I have more scraps to experiment with. Ha
With the look of these boxes, making a bathroom makeup organizer/holder would be awesome! Especially because no one else has built a makeup drawer or cabinet etc.

Thanks so much! It was a really fun experiment.

Thanks so much! After watching the video I just couldn’t say no... that’s so much for the feedback on the narration I struggle with it! Ha
Wow! Nicely done. So much to think about when laying everything out. You did a great job Tamar!
Thanks so much! You think boxes are simple but there’s a lot of work that goes into them!
Wow they are fantastic. I love that inlay as well.
