Please! I am absolutely a Hamilton fan and do not particularly like Verstappen, but when a season is that close you can point to a dozen mistakes by teams and officials that occured over the season. An early point counts as much as a late point.. For instance, in a late season race (I believe it was Baku), the tires were defective. A couple of drivers shredded their tires before Verstappen shredded his while in the lead on a late lap. Hamilton was uncontested at the front in a restart. All he had to do was finish there and he would have had enough points to make the Abu Dhabi race immaterial. On the restart, Hamilton failed to turn off the clutch used only for a standing start. As a result, he had so much understeer that he went right into the runoff lane and scored no points. Earlier in the Abu Dhabi race, Hamilton went off the track and gained a position. By rule he should have had to give it back, but it was ruled that he was forced off. That is a judgement call - not quite the same as an incorrectly applied rule, but the decision was controversial. Honestly, I don't remember if it was the other way around and Verstappen was forced after a couple of laps to give back the position. I do remember that Hamilton was the beneficiary. Hamilton accepted the race result. I have never heard him bitch about that result and he will when he thinks he is right or was treated unfairly. GP racing is so technical and so subject to judgement that there are questionable calls in virtually every race. One hopes they even out. Maybe the appeal procedures need to be more powerful, but can you honestly say that there wasn't 1 mistake by the race direct or stewards during the season that favored Hamilton. It happens in every sport. In fact that is part of the reason that sport is so interesting and people argue over results (like this) years later. This didn't even require a recap. It was clear at the time that the race director blew it. But, it was not an appealable event. This recap missed the most important part. Hamilton was past the pits when the safety car came out. Max was able to duck into the pits, but Hamilton couldn't. What was really controversial was that the race should probably have finished under the safety car, but the decision was made not to end the season that way.
They can't stop LH destiny. Werstoppen will never enjoy that win....he will always know that he happily received stolen goods....and I have no issues with his talent. And everybody who collided in this robbery will have to seek forgiveness.

My son and I were big F1 fans When Hamilton got robbed my son said that he has lost total interest in F1 has not watched a race since.. Have to say my interest has wanned too.. It all started with Latifi intentionally crashing his car. If he had not cooperated, this would not have happened. Or, maybe his life would have been put at stake if he hadn't. Anyway, Latifi should be court marshalled for his role in bringing this about.
The backup was Redbull under fuelling Perez, so Perez could park on track to bring the SC out. Because Latifi did his job, they then retired Perez while in the SC train. Because he had no fuel left.
Rules in sports cannot be changed by a director. It's like saysing a football referee can change football rules during a match. In this instance the FIA was a toothless lion, scared to fight failings in the sport. The whole incident was suspect, including Latifi's crash.His race engineer was heard saying "it has to be this lap" on the lap he crashed. Why did he actually crash? There seemed to be no reason for it and no explanation as such. Why weren't the rules followed to the letter? Surely the rule book was written to keep things like this from happening. Lewis was well in front of Max, and with 5 cars between them, there was no way on earth Max was going to win, even his father gave up watching and left the Red Bull garage. I feel that the FIA conspired to rid the sport of Sir Lewis Hamilton, by making him feel so aggrieved by their decision that he would lose the will to race. But against all odds, still he rises.
Brilliant recap, except you omitted that since the rules (as always implemented upto then) required all lapped cars to unlap themselves and the race to only restart until they where at the back on the same lap as the leaders. As there were insufficient laps left to achieve that Hamilton had effectively won the race and his team chose not to pit him.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Never in any World Sport have the rules and regulations been manipulated so much to favour one compeditor over another, and all done while the sporting world watched. Everyone knows who the true winner of that race was and it wasn't RB or MV, you have to win a race fairly and squarely, not be gifted it. James Vowles nailed it in one of his interviews when he said, "you have to win it fairly, if you win it and muddy the waters you will never gain the respect and you'll forever be tainted. The 2021 DWC title was never LH's to win. Taking into consideration the points deficit between MV and LH at the Silverstone GP of 2021, that was demolished instantaneously at Copse corner when LH collided with MV at nearly 200mph, resulting in a 51G crash against the Tyre barrier, causing visual problems for MV to this day, benefitted LH massively. LH confirmed afterwards during a media briefing, that was broadcasted in a RUclips video, that he deliberately drove MV off the circuit, and from then on the FIA orchestrated all the races and points to have both of their points tallies equal for the final race at Abu Dhabi. The FIA did absolutely nothing about the deliberate and reckless endangering of another racing driver's life, even after LH's acknowledgedment of the fact. Proof of exactly how incompetent and misinformed both the FIA and FOM really are for allowing such atrocities under their watch. After revealing his true nature, as blatantly as he did, LH should never have been allowed back in any racing car. The FIA was very quick to impose a lifelong ban onto Nelson Piquet after his indiscretion against LH, so why didn't they impose a lifelong ban onto LH for endangering someone's life on-track during international racing? The FIA and FOM is pathetic in regulating any racing whatsoever. So, these are the facts of the 2021 F1 season and that is why LH never deserved to win that title. LH got what he deserved at Abu Dhabi in 2021 when he was betrayed by his own team.
It was NOT the first time Masi had influenced a race by making up the rules on the fly. He did it at Monza 2019 ensuring a win for LeClerc and Masi's former team Ferrari. Nobody challenged him so he was emboldened to try it again. The truth is that if Charlie had lived, Hamilton would be an 8th times champion. Mercedes won the title that was important to them so Toto didn't bother to fight for the injustice as he said he would in the aftermath. It was a decision that could never stand up in a court of law.
Mercedes denied LH a pitstop after the announcement of the SC was made. LH was in conversation with his engineer on the pit-to-car radio about going for fresh tyres after the engineer informed him that MV has made a pitstop immediately after the announcement. Mercedes was fully aware of the entire situation, but still denied LH that crucial pitstop, knowing very well that he had 40 lap old and worn hard profile tyres on his car, that could never stand up to the brand new soft profile tyres on MV Red Bull. The downfall of LH 8th DWC title started and ended in the Mercedes paddock. One do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out who was responsible for that decision. Once again the picture of Michael Masi was inappropriately added to this video. Those who blame MM for this injustice, will be judged for judging him for something he never did.

Every single previous F1 races released all lapped cars to pass before recommencing the race, everyone regarded this as the rule not to be misinterpreted to gain an advantage. It all started with Latifi intentionally crashing his car. If he had not cooperated, this would not have happened. Or, maybe his life would have been put at stake if he hadn't. Anyway, Latifi should be court marshalled for his role in bringing this about.
The backup was Redbull under fuelling Perez, so Perez could park on track to bring the SC out.
Because Latifi did his job, they then retired Perez while in the SC train. Because he had no fuel left.
Rules in sports cannot be changed by a director. It's like saysing a football referee can change football rules during a match. In this instance the FIA was a toothless lion, scared to fight failings in the sport. They sacked the director but left the action or consequences of his action unchanged deriving the real winner the victory. Mercedes should have fought the verdict and I wonder why they did not.

The whole incident was suspect, including Latifi's crash.His race engineer was heard saying "it has to be this lap" on the lap he crashed. Why did he actually crash? There seemed to be no reason for it and no explanation as such. Why weren't the rules followed to the letter? Surely the rule book was written to keep things like this from happening. Lewis was well in front of Max, and with 5 cars between them, there was no way on earth Max was going to win, even his father gave up watching and left the Red Bull garage. I feel that the FIA conspired to rid the sport of Sir Lewis Hamilton, by making him feel so aggrieved by their decision that he would lose the will to race. But against all odds, still he rises.

Brilliant recap, except you omitted that since the rules (as always implemented upto then) required all lapped cars to unlap themselves and the race to only restart until they where at the back on the same lap as the leaders. As there were insufficient laps left to achieve that Hamilton had effectively won the race and his team chose not to pit him.

Lewis was robbed! The race should have ended under a yellow flag. Mr Masi did NOT follow the rules correctly regarding restarts after a safety car period. The FIA should have overturned the result. The fact they didn't is one of the reasons I no longer watch F1.
In its current form F1 is corrupt. The rules allow more than 20 cars on the grid, but the teams refuse to allow new teams to join! That is just fucking nuts!

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Never in any World Sport have the rules and regulations been manipulated so much to favour one compeditor over another, and all done while the sporting world watched. Everyone knows who the true winner of that race was and it wasn't RB or MV, you have to win a race fairly and squarely, not be gifted it.
James Vowles nailed it in one of his interviews when he said, "you have to win it fairly, if you win it and muddy the waters you will never gain the respect and you'll forever be tainted.
Masi was a fool that day, he paid the price and deserved his sacking, most of Sky Sports and Channel 4's F1 pundits lost my respect and will never gain it back by praising MV and his so called "win", the "Yes Men" they know who they are.

I’m sure there were a few above him that didn’t want Lewis to be known as the GOAT. We all know who was the real winner. However I was hoping that you were going to shed new light onto this but alas I was disappointed.
The 2021 DWC title was never LH's to win.
Taking into consideration the points deficit between MV and LH at the Silverstone GP of 2021, that was demolished instantaneously at Copse corner when LH collided with MV at nearly 200mph, resulting in a 51G crash against the Tyre barrier, causing visual problems for MV to this day, benefitted LH massively.
LH confirmed afterwards during a media briefing, that was broadcasted in a RUclips video, that he deliberately drove MV off the circuit, and from then on the FIA orchestrated all the races and points to have both of their points tallies equal for the final race at Abu Dhabi.
The FIA did absolutely nothing about the deliberate and reckless endangering of another racing driver's life, even after LH's acknowledgedment of the fact. Proof of exactly how incompetent and misinformed both the FIA and FOM really are for allowing such atrocities under their watch.
After revealing his true nature, as blatantly as he did, LH should never have been allowed back in any racing car.
The FIA was very quick to impose a lifelong ban onto Nelson Piquet after his indiscretion against LH, so why didn't they impose a lifelong ban onto LH for endangering someone's life on-track during international racing?
The FIA and FOM is pathetic in regulating any racing whatsoever.
So, these are the facts of the 2021 F1 season and that is why LH never deserved to win that title.

It was NOT the first time Masi had influenced a race by making up the rules on the fly. He did it at Monza 2019 ensuring a win for LeClerc and Masi's former team Ferrari. Nobody challenged him so he was emboldened to try it again. The truth is that if Charlie had lived, Hamilton would be an 8th times champion. Mercedes won the title that was important to them so Toto didn't bother to fight for the injustice as he said he would in the aftermath. It was a decision that could never stand up in a court of law.

LH was in conversation with his engineer on the pit-to-car radio about going for fresh tyres after the engineer informed him that MV has made a pitstop immediately after the announcement.
Mercedes was fully aware of the entire situation, but still denied LH that crucial pitstop, knowing very well that he had 40 lap old and worn hard profile tyres on his car, that could never stand up to the brand new soft profile tyres on MV Red Bull.
The downfall of LH 8th DWC title started and ended in the Mercedes paddock.
One do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out who was responsible for that decision.

Lulu cut the corner in begining gaining position AND taking a HUGE lead NOT giving BACK to Verstappen then toward the end of the race in the last laps cars were NOT allowed to pass for many laps then only a few relavent were eventually let pass at the discression of the RD Masi... so PERFECTLY LEGAL... Every single previous F1 races released all lapped cars to pass before recommencing the race, everyone regarded this as the rule not to be misinterpreted to gain an advantage.
F1 did not want Hamilton to surpass Michael Schumacher, and this was their chance not realising the consequences or that anyone would or could contest the result.
Once Hamilton retires, he’ll be able to contest the result in court and have the trophy and championship reinstated along with monetary compensation for lost advertisement revenue.

Any fixing or miss handling of regulations in any sporting event proven in court makes the result a "non event" and the entire events results are wiped. As per the FIA sporting code council. So if we get justice and wipe the event... max remains champion, as he was the leader heading into the event on race wins and joint points. And if we are to make Hamilton 2021 champion, (×8) then we would have to change the 2008 fixed result in Singapore wouldnt we? As this HAS been proven to be fixed.
