Looking back at the entirety of the season, Bottas was a much better wingman than Perez. People only remember Checo's defense in the finale cuz of short memories but Bottas actually took more points off Max than Checo took from Lewis. He made every strategic move asked of him and even slowed down Max at the risk of taking a penalty under safety car just to make the double stack pitstop clear for Merc. Okay NeonDemon88... First of all you did not watch the Senna vs Prost rivalry live. And yea the rivalry between the two drivers were better since it lasted for many seasons, in the same team, in different teams etc. But this season was individually better than any Prost vs Senna season. This season was pure war, and I want you to stop glazing seasons and drivers that you didn't even watch. And even if you did, you are blinded by nostalgia... Yes the media has significantly impacted the 2021 season, but from race to race the war between Max and Lewis in that season tops any other season ever. Even the moments like 1976 when Lauda led the championship, crashed out for multiple races and yet only lost the title by the tiniest margin, it was still not as great since the two championship rivals didn't have those wheel to wheel moments, they had controversies, drama, highs and lows... Also many of Sennas and Prosts championships were won by deliberately taking the rival out of the race (As seen in 1989 and 1990). So stop with this bullshit in quit living in the past. This 2021 season was amazing.

I’m firmly on the side of Max Verstappen here. A lot of people seem to forget that Formula One is a sport, and every sport at its core is a game. Both Max and Lewis played their hearts out in the 2021 season, and both of them put everything on the line and pushed each other to the limit. But at the end, in the final race, it all boiled down to those final five laps in the final race at Abu Dhabi.
Max and Red Bull won the 2021 WDC fair and square given the circumstances that were created by the bad calls made by the FIA. Those bad calls after Latifi’s crash and the Safety Car affected everyone, but Red Bull and Max played it to their advantage. Red Bull pitted Max and gave him softs, which ultimately gave him the best chance at overtaking Lewis. It should also be noted that Lewis wanted to pit for fresher tires but Mercedes didn’t let him because they were hesitant to give Max even the slightest advantage and the potential lead, blinding them to the fact that Max on fresher tires could easily overtake Lewis.
In the end, Max and Lewis gave it their all, and fair play to both of them despite everything. But I really think that the clincher here is that Red Bull gave Max everything he needed to win, and Mercedes failed Lewis in the end by being overly cautious and by not equipping Lewis with the best strategy and car. This is a trend that continued to 2022 and 2023, where the formerly indomitable and invincible Mercedes has been relegated to the midfield. It’s sad to see how far Mercedes have fallen, and even sadder to see Lewis struggling with a subpar car.
I’d also just like to say that I find it so ironic that Lewis questioned why Max didn’t check on him if he was okay after their collision at Monza. Did he check on Max after his collision in Silverstone? Apparently not.
Also, a bit of unsolicited advice from a subscriber and fan. I love your content, but I think you should refrain from using clickbait thumbnails and titles to draw viewers in. Let your content speak for itself. You do good work here, and fans might not take you seriously if you resort to using such underhanded and deceiving tactics to draw in more viewers and subscribers.

How is it possible you think this after two years? If the rules are followed Mercedes wins. They chose the correct strategy in Abu Dhabi. Lewis and Mercedes did everything right. And if Masi applied the rules correctly, they win. They had no way of knowing Masi would change the rules.
And as for your fourth paragraph of drivel, Lewis did ask if Max was okay over the radio so not sure what you are on about or why you felt the need to bring that up.

Yea I totally understood from Massi's PoV. Sports are a game, yes. But more importantly its entertainment. He wanted the season to end in a shoot out, so thats what he gave the fans. Even allowing cars to unlap themsleves so Max could move up giving us a wild finish, was still no gurantee that Max would have won. He still had to not only make the pass, but hold Lewis off, regardless. I still largely think the only reason he got the pass to stick, is he did it on a part of the track and turn that Lewis least expected him to do it, caught him off gaurd, which he stated later post-race. So people may still be upset about how it ended, but you have to give Max credit for the accolades that season and that pass on Lewis which was no guranteed.
Alot of people say that Max stole the championship from Lewis. I beg to differ on those claims. Going into the Abu Dhabi race, Max was leading all meaningful metrics; most laps led, most poles, most podiums and most wins that season thus far.

Masi hasn't given the title to Verstappen and taken it away from Hamilton.
If anything he served for justice, since rules were changed by the FIA because of Mercedes complaining that others were quicker on track and during pit stops...
In Bahrain he was good to ignore track limits for half of the laps, then Verstappen avoided a collission, exceeding track limits ONCE and was punished for it.
Silverstone was more than just a stupid move from Hamilton, Monza the same - he had fresh tires and could have easily gotten Verstappen towards the next chicanem but choose to cut off a car that was on track while he came out of the pit lane.
Baku already was just the try to give Lewis a "free victory" which he gladly did not. ;)
Then Mercedes swapping out engines on Bottas' car every second race to "test" stuff for Hamilton...
Hamilton also didn't make decissions in Brazil. He just had a new engine fully turned up and noone putting up any defense just waving him past at the end of the main street.
Verstappen simply deserved that title and any other outcome would have been inacceptable. Just as the 2008 title...
PS: I can neither stand Hamilton nor Verstappen.

It's really not about a singular odd win, if you want to see Hamilton in an inferior car win races then look at him in 2009-2013, he won at least a single race in every one of those seasons, in a McLaren that had no business winning, especially that 2009 McLaren, and then won in his debut season with Mercedes. If you really think Hamilton is not as great as he is ought out to be, then why did he sacrifice half of his races in 2022 and still only be short by some 30 points to Russell, why was he challenging Perez in 2023 for P2 in the championship, in a Mercedes that was anything but the second fastest throughout the whole season. That Mercedes was second fastest in a race here and there, but definitely not throughout the whole season, and it's not like he got 3rd while fighting for it, no he got it very comfortably. Cmon now, don't try and fool yourself in thinking the most successful driver in F1 history is not great. It's not about the odd win here and there, it's about consistency.

I do think Lewis in the old Mercedes was one of the greats but it’s the exact same when I look at max and especially this year with all the records he broke yes you have to be consistent to do this with a car but you have to have the car to do it so I look more at Mercedes were legends in the hybrid era and redbull are going to be known as legends in the ground effect era but I don’t think Lewis is the greatest of all time I think he just had to best luck with having the car he had. Well after only a few seconds, we know how this is going to play out, HEAVILY BIASED TOWARDS LEWIS HAMILTON!!! I wasn't aware that Michael Masi was able to HAND the title over to anyone, and he did??? I thought Max passed Lewis on the race track to become the champion, oh that's right, he did 😂😂😂. Max won fairly because the championship should of been over before the last race, with Lewis hitting Max and sending him into the wall at 185mph and stopping Max from winning any points, while Lewis won the league race and claimed 25points. If Lewis hadn't of put Max out and still won the race, Max would of finished at the the very least 2nd and won 18 points, which would of been enough for Max to still win the title by finishing 2nd in the last race, which he was going to before the safety car. The main reason the points were even level before the final race was because Lewis had a BRAND NEW ENGINE for the final 5 races that was blowing everyone away because it had zero mileage on it. Here's the thing, when Lewis took Max out of the British GP, he didn't just gain 25points over Max, but Max lost that engine due to the massive damage caused in such a massive crash. So, at the start of the season, everyone has an allocation of 3 engines per season. Meaning that each engine has to last for 7 races and 1 engine has to do 8 races, but because Max lost that engine at Silverstone, he had only 2 engines that had to 11 races instead of 7. Now anyone with even the littlest of knowledge of formula one, knows that every time an engine races, it loses horsepower. When your engine has done 1,000 miles more than your NEW ENGINE, then it basically doesn't stand much of a chance, if any, of beating the new engine. Which was shown in the last 6 races where upto that point, Lewis had only won 5 races to Max's 9, almost double, which would of been if Lewis hadn't took Max out at Silverstone. Those last 6 races, Lewis got pole position at the USA GP, something he hadn't done since the Hungarian GP, which was 9 races ago. Now Max won that race, but it clear to see the impact of the "ROCKET ENGINE" as the Mercedes team referred to it, and obviously the more mileage that went onto Max's engine, the slower it became. Now in them last 5 races, where Lewis had only 5 wins in 18 races, all of sudden he won 3 races in a row and if not for a safety car, would of won the last 4 races. So not did Lewis deprive Max of scoring between 18-25 points in Silverstone, but compromised the rest of Max's season with taking 1 of his 3 engines out of the rest of the season. What always makes me laugh like crazy, is these simple single minded people who don't take anything into consideration except for the last lap of the last race 😂😂, which Max overtook Lewis on the track like he was supposed to, because Red Bull gambled with Max and brought him into put fresh soft tyres at the pitstop for when the race restarted. Mercedes made the wrong decision, and you could hear Lewis saying on radio that they should of came in for a pitstop too, but his engineer said to him that they thought that track position was the best strategy. They got it wrong, and Red Bulls gamble paid off, but to say Michael Masi gave Max the title is just absolutely plain stupid. Here's a side note-Mercedes cars hit Max 3 times and caused him 3 podiums where in 2 of the races Max would of finished NO LOWER THAN 2ND OR WOULD HAVE WON THE RACES! That's a minimum of 40 points and a maximum of 54 points lost because of a Mercedes car hitting him, and only in 1 of them 3 races did Lewis not score any points. So winning more races than Lewis doesn't warrant him being a worthy champion??? Are you seriously suggesting that??? The title would have been won far earlier than the last race had Max not of lost so many points by being hit badly both Mercedes cars and either had serious damage that say him finish only 8th when Bottas wiped Max out at Spa, i think, and the other 2 times was when Lewis hit Max and sent him into the wall at 185mph and Lewis went on to win, and at Monza where both of them didn't get any points, but if you add the points that Max lost by being hit by the 2 Mercedes cars, he would of been champion before the last race. Also to say Max was handed the title from the stewards, go back and Google it and see just who the stewards were showing the more favouritism too throughout the season, my god Lewis got away with 10 maybe 20 times as much. Max was getting penalised for far more than Lewis, and even when they did the exact same thing, Max would get a penalty and Lewis wouldn't. Full stop, the END! Now just bloody deal with it

I am a general F1 fan, not particularly a team or driver's fan but as a Dutchman I really enjoyed that season. Max and Lewis were fantastic. I never favored any driver more than the other. But both drivers made some mistakes. The one from Lewis pushing Max into the wall was odd, because with Max he pushed his car wide, making him touch Max's back wheel, but on other laps and in previous years, he stuck to his line, which made me think it was not an "Accident". Same for Max taking out Lewis on Monza. That was Max's fault for trying to stick it in when there was no room at all. On Singapore, Max tried to let Lewis pass whilst sticking close to the racing line, BUT, Lewis had enough room to pass, but instead drove into the back of the Red Bull. Also, MOST calls, I'm NOT saying all calls, but MOST calls from the stewards were AGAINST Max, favoring Lewis MOST of the time. I think Masi tried to favor Max in the last race. I think he wanted to make it up to Max and Red Bull or something for the kind of favoritism from the entire season and getting a final crucial racing lap is good for the sports recognision. All-in-all, this was my favorite F1 season so far. Both drivers deserved the Chip, but unfortunately only 1 driver can win it...

Man now we understand that we should be grateful for 2021. That excitement was legendary waiting for every race week and making up scenarios in your head that what if max finishes 3rd or maybe lewis finishes 1st. Truly a great year not only for the sport but for all the fans

Max could have given more room for sure but it was 90% on Hamilton at Silverstone, that was Max's victory and it would've made the final race mean a lot less.

That silverstone incident alone makes me think max deserved the 2021 wdc. It was disgusting behavior by lewis.

What did Lewis even do? Max literally cut across him. He could have token a wider line, like he did with Raikkonen in 2018 Silverstone. Same corner. Different outcome. He was just desperate and paid the price for it.

Mental that after all their battles, they went into the final race of the season exactly as they did the first.

The imola crash was TERRIFYING, but max being sent into a wall at 51G's is just a minor incident?
You didn't even bother to say that max was thankfully unhurt.
