This GREATEST Rivalry Changed Formula 1 Forever

  • This is the story of the 2006 season, the rivalry between Alonso and Schumacher!
Recall how last year Fernando became the youngest world champion ever? Together with Renault, they snapped Ferrari's era of dominance. The defeat prompted Scuderia to make serious changes. Especially when it's Michael Schumacher's last season in his career. And believe me, he's definitely not ready to lose again. As a result, 2006 brought us a wild struggle between the young Fernando Alonso and the legendary Michael Schumacher. So who the hell would win?

Europe 98, spa 2000 and the Japanese gp's in 99 and 2000 are particular favourites.....they were well above the level of any other drivers on the grid at that point...

The 2006 Australian GP is very well known. "Massa collided with Williams". wtf?? If you don't know the names of the drivers involved, look them up. Christian Klein, in one of the Red Bulls, tagged Massa, which caused him to run into the back of Nico Rosberg in the Williams.
And " the driver made a mistake" a few laps later was Klien, again.

The reason there was no order given to Massa to let Schuhmacher overtake and give him 1st place was that such a thing was forbidden to do.
It got forbidden after Ferrari did this at the Austrian GP in 2002, where they gave Barrichello, who was in 1st near the end of the race, the order to let 2nd placed Schuhmacher pass and let him win to get 10 instead of only 6 points for the drivers championship.

A young kid with good results, who defeat an older king in his era (Ferrari Schumi-Mercedes Hamilton).
A young promise ill with drive world, as Twitch and competition of Max, as still in F1 driving 42 years old Alonso. And they don’t rest, Alonso keep driving karts, test and even Dakar when he should be in holidays. Like Max.
Good example of two similar guys of different generations, with 20 years of difference.

Bro what waffling, Moss and Fangio, Stewart and Fittipaldi, Hunt and Lauda, Prost and Senna and Schumacher and Hakkinen are miles better rivalries then Vertsappen and Hamilton,

This video is more or less ridiculous. Alonso, who is an amazing driver, won thanks to luck and nothing else.

Alonso also had DNF's , Bridgestone was better than Michelin , ban on mass damper and Ferrari had development advantage over Renault throughout the season

The last F1 driver I was a fan of was Alain Prost. I watched F1 on and off since he retired but I watched every race of the 2005 and 2006 seasons because it was great watching the biggest ars*hole and cheater of all time, Michael Schumacher, getting whipped. I also watched every race of the 2022 and 2023 seasons because it was just as fun watching the 2nd biggest ars*hole and cheater, Sir Lewis the Turd, getting utterly demolished by Russell & Perez. Schumacher and Hamilton don't seem to realize that winning isn't everything and that history will not just remember their wins but also their behaviour.

I have watched F1 since 86. Schumacher had 94, 97 and 06 where he blatantly cheated to win a championship. Fernando had his moments in 07. Prost manipulated teams to benefit himself and make sure his teammate couldnt win multiple times. Senna blatantly cheated to win a world championship in 90. Race Control cheated in 2021 to hand Max the championship on the last lap. Remind me of a single time when Hamilton cheated to win a title? And I am not even a Hamilton supporter.

Shumi was a skilled driver, but he was also a notorious cheater, and he eventually faced punishment from a higher power.

I could just about live with all of the mistakes in the video… but the BIAS, oh lord. I am no Schumacher fan, but creating any sort of documentary style video and claiming Schumacher ‘did what he did best, cheat’ is just insane. Clearly just an FA fan boy who has watched a few races and wants to seem legit

What is that thumbnail supposed to be? Why does Schumacher have cuts and tape on his face?
How is this the greatest rivalry?

    This was an unbearable watch.
“Filipe Massa” wasn’t a good start.
Mispronoucing Renault and Scuderia is a weird thing to do. It’s common knowledge to know how both Renault and Scuderia are pronounced
Saying Schumacher started the Australian GP outside the top 10 but showing footage of the grid which shows he started 10th. I know he qualified 11th but he started 10th. Context matters
“Massa collided with Williams”? You worded it like the drivers name was Williams but it was a Williams car (2016 champion Nico Rosberg at the wheel might I add)
The Red Bull driver was Christian Klein. Gee whiz it ain’t that hard to do a simple bit of research and get the drivers name FFS
I didn’t think it was possible to butcher Franck Montagny’s name as bad as you did. I think autocorrect did you dirty on your script cause Montagny doesn’t end with an “a”
The Italian GP is not Schumachers home GP. Schumacher is German. How in the living hell did you get that wrong?!
If you’re gonna call yourself Formula History, prove that you actually give a damn about the sport by doing your research. It really ain’t that hard. Also, that thumbnail is just pathetic
