The fact the commentary never mentioned a historic moment of an 8th title, only talking about one more lap, shows to me they knew 1 more lap was coming.
Contrasting Lewis and his dad back at that point in 2021, and at his 2024 British GP victory. His dad is a wise soul. Lewis congratulated Max back in 2021, and cried tears of joy at the British GP in 2024. He deserved that 8th.
A totally unacceptable situation that Massi made so many mistakes that his position was untenable. Leaves a sour taste which left Hamilton in a very fragile mental position which he has come through with flying colours. It has taken a long while but he is still at the top of his game.
The fact that Massi ordered the 7 cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to unlap themselves was the key move, it left Hamilton defenceless on older tyres. It was a disgusting move
@@alexjohnward thats the thing tho, you either let everyone by or none. Had he ordered everyone to unlap themselves they wouldve needed one more lap to do it and the race wouldve ended as it should. They only took the cars between them to "have a show" with a guy on old hard tyres and the other on new softs. Totally fabricated and agaisnt 2/3 parts of the rules of unlapping. They didnt even let the cars who unlapped get to the back of the field again. They just did it to put verstappen behind him.

@@alexjohnwardwrong the rules does not state all cars have to be allowed to un lap them selves… the issue with this is, after the last car has passed the safety car Toni lap itself the safety car MUST then complete a further lap before heading into the pits… it didn’t it let the 7 cars passed then went to the pits.. if your going to try and argue at least get it right

Everyone knows Lewis was screwed!! The other problem is that Merc did not take this all the way in court. Max will always knows he has 1 WC gifted to him.
I sat next to a retired FI driver during this race and he couldn't believe what was hsppening. I'll point out that I'm a Lewis fan and he and I had argued all season about Max's aggressive driving so we could say he was in the Max camp. It'll be interesting to see this investigation hit the airwaves. In my opinion the powers behind F1 were desperate for a new Champion at all cost. When you consider the leniency Max had received for some pretty poor maneuvers during the season some preferential treatment might be suspected !

Merc backed down from going to court because Suleyman promised them a full and thorough investigation. What we got was a whitewash report blaming Masi and they only released it on the opening day of the new season to try and bury it amongst the noise.

The unique and special allowing of Max to get behind Hamilton on fresh tyres , but not allowing all cars to unlap is extraordinary. The moment Max was allowed behind you could hear Hamilton knew what was happening and that was Heartbreaking. This was tragic

No sporting moment has ever given me the emotion of that day, clear foul play at work and the pain it caused Lewis was scaring. Anyone who isnt Dutch. Knows Lewis is a 8 x winner. Hamilton himself knows he won that race. Anyone watching it could see Crashstapin cheated. He could have come out of the pits way before he did. But didnt want to compromise his tyres. There should be a timeclimit whilst in pits during a safety car. Just enough to changectyres and any bodywork. There is no doubt RedBull are so close to be called cheats. The latest is they have been caught making addons and alterations to the cars that are outside of regulations. They have been foundcout and strongly adviced to remove them. Rather than tell the mediaxand us. To protect the sport. They can keep all the titles back to 2019. Wow, I never thought about the Chico narrative either. This is orchestrated in an evil way. I am stunned by all this evidence, and Totto failed to proceed in court, which makes me think he is complicit in all this while acting innocent. They just did not want a man of colour to be the G.O.A.T and take Schumacher's crown. This was the saddest day for many people, including myself. I was in absolute shock at what happened. Great break down.. at the time of watching i was so distraught, to see lewis battle his way back in brazil like he did, survive jeedah and win, to get comfortably ahead in abu dhabi and then was just racing his way to an 8th to have what happened it broke me as a fan and still lingers.. the fact everyone blamed it on mercedes poor strategy was ridiculous, he could not pit for new tyres the gap wasnt there.. to see each lap go by and then witness the decision to let half go through and then go straight to racing and see what happened broke me and i felt no even a inch of what lewis must of felt.. Silverstone 2024 i celebrated so much as it felt like every lewis fan that endured that shambolic display of directing in abu dhabi, its like we all breathe a bit of redemption.. lewis deserves so much more respect.. for not just staying in the sport but also how he dealt with it.. the man is legend of the sport just so sad the sport robbed a legend.. I hope one day someone from inside will have the bollocks to actually let the world know and have evidence to expose it all..

For the record i thought they retired him just to not cast a big shadow on MV in the podium, as this race SP was way better than MV in every aspect. Checo's retirement was Inconsequential. Perez was 15 seconds behind Max when they Safety Car came out. Max pitted, then Checo followed him 15 seconds later. How can Checo get in front of Max when they both pitted on Lap 54 and Verstappen left the pits 15 seconds "IN FRONT OF CHECO"

If you listen to the conversation of Latiffi and his race engineer a little longer, you will hear that Latiffi was pushed hard in trying to overtake Mick Schumacher. The maker of this video let's you only hear the phrase "it has to happen this lap", trying to manipulate you into thinking that he ordered Latiffi to crash in that round, which is untrue and and misleading.
I believe Lewis "lost" 2 championships this one and one in his rookie year in China I could see he needed tyres urgently but he was left out. Why was this ? spy gate how could a driver win the championship when team lost all their points and were fined $100million. You must have watched a different race than I did? Perez was no where near Lewis and Max. 1/4 of a lap behind Verstappen. There was 40 seconds between when Latifi crashed and Hamilton passed "Pit Entrance". Lewis asked if he could box approaching pit entry, but there was a delay and Lewis passed pit entry and "Bono" replied "Negative"... Yeah! Because you are already past pit entry. Merc simply blew it.

They retired Perez car because it was meant to create the safety car. The car was supposed to break down to cause the safety car. Latifi made it unnecessary

@@kinglekenyane206 i was on the tube today, and saw an interview with LH which he asked him if Alonso has been his best team mate or if not not who was it? he give a good explanation why Valteri was a great team mate, of course we know Valteri puts the team first, but it seems that it would be allowed if race pace was similar to both of them. For example, Nico won against LH, so is not that it couldn't happen in Merc. Also it seems whenever LH is behind Alonso, it seems Alonso goes into super God mode and stop LH for 7 laps more like the other time. Anyway i would like to think Alonso has a compass, but the fact is that none of the unlapped and still to unlap cars complained or sided with Lewis.

Lewis certainly was cheated and deserves the 2021 championship. What always seems to be forgotten in all this though, is the money spent by fans to travel round the world, and the fans who pay to watch on TV, as well as the investment from F1 teams and sponsors, just to have the whole season's results manipulated on the last day. Hamilton needs to challenge the 2021 WDC result after he retires from the sport. Nobody will begrudge him, because if Masa can have some justification to contest the 2008 WDC, when Masa had every opportunity on track in subsequent races to correct the injustice of Fernando earning points, Hamilton has a much stronger case for FIA corrupt practices.
Still don't get it why Massa challenge the 2008 F1 World Championship. Ferrari even developed the 2008 Car in favor to Massa and left teammate and 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen high and dry. Then in Singapur it was Renaults Flavio Briatore who ordered Piquet Jr to crash on purpose and Ferrari messed up their pitstop because the pit stop light which Ferrari used instead of the Lollipop went green when the crew was still busy fueling up Massa's car. No blame for McLaren or Hamilton at all. Hamilton even lost the Spa GP victory which He should have won as well. They handed Massa the Victory in Spa. If that 2008 F1 World Championship changes hands, i stop watching.
The day that the term 'sport " died in formula one. A piece of my heart went that day. In 35 years I have never seen anything like it in any sport let alone the pinnacle of motor sport.

There are many things that look wrong in this, James has pointed those out. There are many theories based on what/if from both sides. So let’s drop those as they rely on an element of uncertainty. So we should just focus on what did happen. James shows clearly and undeniably at around 53mins that the race was over at that point. Under the rules Lewis was an 8x world champion provided he did not crash or have a mechanical. Again,look at what happened, he did finish, no crash or mechanical. This is fact not fiction or maybe.
That was the day I lost all respect for the FIA, F1, and all the other racers who went along or didn’t speak out about this robbery. I remember watching this live. I heard the commentator say that it would take a miracle for Lewis not to win and unbelievably the miracle came. I thought I heard MSC name mentioned at the time and thought he was involved but no one has mentioned it since. He made contact with the one who crashed! He caused the accident! How fitting! However the outcome was obvious, it would favor one car, Max, so Massi MAY not let unlapping and let them finish behind SC. Well done analysis of that dark day. I was watching in stunned silence as this played out and kept wondering how this is even possible given what I understood about the rules. I was angry, shocked and felt sick to my stomach. I can’t begin to grasp what a kick in the crotch Lewis must’ve been enduring because he was listening and conversing with his pit in real time knowing full well he was getting jobbed out of a record 8th title. This will forever be a black eye on F1 and the FIA for allowing this to happen. I had determined I would cancel my F1 subscription and did so, but once Lewis announced he would indeed continue racing I hesitantly purchased another subscription for the 2021 season only to witness Mercedes trot out a four wheeled turd of a race car which never came close to being competitive until just the last two or three races of this season. God help me, because this has been an excruciatingly long time to watch weekend after weekend of the Max parade each race. I got to the point of mostly just watching the Quali sessions for each race and sometime making an effort to watch at least the start of each race, but pretty much retiring back to bed and checking the results later in the day since there wasn’t much to warrant my expenditure of time watching live. There were a couple races that had a few brief moments of racing within them, but nothing I couldn’t go back and run thru the replay if I felt there may have been something interesting enough to actually see with my own eyes, which there really wasn’t. This season has been slightly better and with the rise of McClaren, Ferrari and surprisingly Mercedes to a point where the disparity in race pace has diminished significantly. You have given me some validation in my opinion about SLH being intentionally sunk in 2021 for purely entertainment value, and to Hell with the damn rules. Thanks for posting this and I must say you have earned my subscription based solely upon your points you brought to light within your content. Todt is a former Ferrari team principal during Schumacher' s reign and also former FIA president. These people are dirty. Fia made sure that Lewis didn't win the championship. If you look throughout the season the crazy driving of Max wasn't penalized especially during the last stages of the championship when Max knew that if he crashed with Lewis it helped his chances of sealing the deal. His craziest driving happened during the last 4 races. Fia just watched. After brake testing Lewis at jedda Max got no penalties other than 5 sec. To make sure that Lewis didn't win their last-ditch effort was Masi in the last race. Michael Masi was never the right guy for the race director role ever as he was very arrogant and corruptible. I remember his arrogant response during the Tuscan gp at mugello when his nonsense cause a humongous high speed crash. Look it up!

They didnt even let the cars who unlapped get to the back of the field again. They just did it to put verstappen behind him.

I'll point out that I'm a Lewis fan and he and I had argued all season about Max's aggressive driving so we could say he was in the Max camp. It'll be interesting to see this investigation hit the airwaves. In my opinion the powers behind F1 were desperate for a new Champion at all cost. When you consider the leniency Max had received for some pretty poor maneuvers during the season some preferential treatment might be suspected !

That was the last time I watched an F1 race. Ive been watching F1 since the late 80s! It was absolutely disgusting what they did and I have not watched a race since!
Great break down.. at the time of watching i was so distraught, to see lewis battle his way back in brazil like he did, survive jeedah and win, to get comfortably ahead in abu dhabi and then was just racing his way to an 8th to have what happened it broke me as a fan and still lingers.. the fact everyone blamed it on mercedes poor strategy was ridiculous, he could not pit for new tyres the gap wasnt there.. to see each lap go by and then witness the decision to let half go through and then go straight to racing and see what happened broke me and i felt no even a inch of what lewis must of felt..
Silverstone 2024 i celebrated so much as it felt like every lewis fan that endured that shambolic display of directing in abu dhabi, its like we all breathe a bit of redemption.. lewis deserves so much more respect.. for not just staying in the sport but also how he dealt with it..

Checo's retirement was Inconsequential. Perez was 15 seconds behind Max when they Safety Car came out. Max pitted, then Checo followed him 15 seconds later.

I knew from the beginning theres something fishy about Latifi's crash and also i think Mercedes played a part in this. This basically means Lewis Hamilton wasn't battling with Max alone but the whole F1/FIA

You must have watched a different race than I did? Perez was no where near Lewis and Max. 1/4 of a lap behind Verstappen. There was 40 seconds between when Latifi crashed and Hamilton passed "Pit Entrance". Lewis asked if he could box approaching pit entry, but there was a delay and Lewis passed pit entry and "Bono" replied "Negative"... Yeah! Because you are already past pit entry. Merc simply blew it.

@@kinglekenyane206 i was on the tube today, and saw an interview with LH which he asked him if Alonso has been his best team mate or if not not who was it? he give a good explanation why Valteri was a great team mate, of course we know Valteri puts the team first, but it seems that it would be allowed if race pace was similar to both of them.
For example, Nico won against LH, so is not that it couldn't happen in Merc.
Also it seems whenever LH is behind Alonso, it seems Alonso goes into super God mode and stop LH for 7 laps more like the other time.
Anyway i would like to think Alonso has a compass, but the fact is that none of the unlapped and still to unlap cars complained or sided with Lewis.

Lewis was undoubtedly robbed of that win and his 8th F1 Championship. He's also been robbed by Mercedes of more wins he could of added to his record after the 2021 season. Always remember F1 is a money business first!

Lewis certainly was cheated and deserves the 2021 championship. What always seems to be forgotten in all this though, is the money spent by fans to travel round the world, and the fans who pay to watch on TV, as well as the investment from F1 teams and sponsors, just to have the whole season's results manipulated on the last day. Utter contempt for all F1 fans.
Hamilton needs to challenge the 2021 WDC result after he retires from the sport. Nobody will begrudge him, because if Masa can have some justification to contest the 2008 WDC, when Masa had every opportunity on track in subsequent races to correct the injustice of Fernando earning points, Hamilton has a much stronger case for FIA corrupt practices.
Still don't get it why Massa challenge the 2008 F1 World Championship. Ferrari even developed the 2008 Car in favor to Massa and left teammate and 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen high and dry. Then in Singapur it was Renaults Flavio Briatore who ordered Piquet Jr to crash on purpose and Ferrari messed up their pitstop because the pit stop light which Ferrari used instead of the Lollipop went green when the crew was still busy fueling up Massa's car. No blame for McLaren or Hamilton at all. Hamilton even lost the Spa GP victory which He should have won as well. They handed Massa the Victory in Spa. If that 2008 F1 World Championship changes hands, i stop watching.

There are many things that look wrong in this, James has pointed those out. There are many theories based on what/if from both sides. So let’s drop those as they rely on an element of uncertainty. So we should just focus on what did happen. James shows clearly and undeniably at around 53mins that the race was over at that point. Under the rules Lewis was an 8x world champion provided he did not crash or have a mechanical. Again,look at what happened, he did finish, no crash or mechanical. This is fact not fiction or maybe.

I remember watching this live. I heard the commentator say that it would take a miracle for Lewis not to win and unbelievably the miracle came. I thought I heard MSC name mentioned at the time and thought he was involved but no one has mentioned it since. He made contact with the one who crashed! He caused the accident! How fitting! However the outcome was obvious, it would favor one car, Max, so Massi MAY not let unlapping and let them finish behind SC. If I am wrong an dit was a mistake then yes, going to the court is not fair since everyone woth big or small consequences hit by mistakes which is a part of the game.
Well done analysis of that dark day. I was watching in stunned silence as this played out and kept wondering how this is even possible given what I understood about the rules. I was angry, shocked and felt sick to my stomach. I can’t begin to grasp what a kick in the crotch Lewis must’ve been enduring because he was listening and conversing with his pit in real time knowing full well he was getting jobbed out of a record 8th title. This will forever be a black eye on F1 and the FIA for allowing this to happen. I had determined I would cancel my F1 subscription and did so, but once Lewis announced he would indeed continue racing I hesitantly purchased another subscription for the 2021 season only to witness Mercedes trot out a four wheeled turd of a race car which never came close to being competitive until just the last two or three races of this season. God help me, because this has been an excruciatingly long time to watch weekend after weekend of the Max parade each race. I got to the point of mostly just watching the Quali sessions for each race and sometime making an effort to watch at least the start of each race, but pretty much retiring back to bed and checking the results later in the day since there wasn’t much to warrant my expenditure of time watching live. There were a couple races that had a few brief moments of racing within them, but nothing I couldn’t go back and run thru the replay if I felt there may have been something interesting enough to actually see with my own eyes, which there really wasn’t. This season has been slightly better and with the rise of McClaren, Ferrari and surprisingly Mercedes to a point where the disparity in race pace has diminished significantly. You have given me some validation in my opinion about SLH being intentionally sunk in 2021 for purely entertainment value, and to Hell with the damn rules. Thanks for posting this and I must say you have earned my subscription based solely upon your points you brought to light within your content. Let’s hope you get loads of views and people can begin to grasp the pure shifty and shady handling of what should have been a record 8th World championship for Lewis. Lastly, to his credit, Lewis remained a class act and shook ands and offered his congratulation to Max afterwards which I am not so sure I myself would have been able to muster the guts to do so. He handled being screwed over with as much dignity as anyone in human history who’s just been blatantly fucked over by people in positions of authority. Again, not sure I would have been able to keep my shit together in that situation. He is a better man than I.

Well, they just brought the "crashgate" genius of Briatori back into the fold from a "lifetime" ban. So what does that tell you. NOTHING WILL BE DONE!.
Jean Todt said something to the effect of "why should Lewis earn an 8th championship when Michael is not here to defend himself". Look it up! Todt is a former Ferrari team principal during Schumacher' s reign and also former FIA president. These people are dirty. Fia made sure that Lewis didn't win the championship. If you look throughout the season the crazy driving of Max wasn't penalized especially during the last stages of the championship when Max knew that if he crashed with Lewis it helped his chances of sealing the deal. His craziest driving happened during the last 4 races. Fia just watched. After brake testing Lewis at jedda Max got no penalties other than 5 sec. To make sure that Lewis didn't win their last-ditch effort was Masi in the last race. Michael Masi was never the right guy for the race director role ever as he was very arrogant and corruptible. I remember his arrogant response during the Tuscan gp at mugello when his nonsense cause a humongous high speed crash. Look it up!
