Maddie telling school counselor that Sterns was weird and made her uncomfortable is huge red flag and leads me to believe she absolutely told her mom this much if not everything. Hence, the arguments with her mom and Sterns moving out. So, how does a "mother" then direct her 13 yo daughter to go "sleep" with the man (or any man/boy) that creeps her out?? I don't understand how a mother could take a child's room away but has one for her boyfriend. Jen is a very selfish person she always put her needs in front of Maddie. A good mother will sit down with your child and help them with school assignments if needed at the same time, making sure that her school assignments were done. There were so many red flags, and it's so sad that no one picked up on it. When your child it's bringing home D's and F's and is always sleepy and tired there is a problem and I hate that Maddie's teachers and counselor we're not able to pick up on this. It's fairly common for people to plead not guilty. All laywers will advice their client to plead not guilty as well. It gives them time to build the case, and puts pressure on the DA to offer a plea deal. Some guilty people stay in denial, some want the trial to show off, some guilty people just think they will be able to get away with it. Given that he might get the DP, he will likely wait until just before the trial in hopes that the DA will take the DP off the table.

I think Jen was not telling her family he was staying at her home after that. She was sneaking because her family wanted him out of Maddie’s life. I believe she got into a fight with her the night of her birthday and strangled her. She had Sterns move the body the next morning, she controls him and he complied. Sterns didn’t want her dead. There is simply no way an innocent mother would lie about the details leading up to their child’s disappearance unless they were involved. They are both guilty of this death and the mom knew everything about the sexual abuse, she became sick and twisted with jealousy, that’s why they never got along.

    • @MM-ik7cs

I disagree. This is a case of grooming. Groomers build a relationship where the kid trusts them. We know from documents that she text with Sterns a whole lot, also spoke with him on the phone often. She would ignore her mother. They do not need threats when they have a relationship (yes a twisted one). Yes, Maddie was annoyed with him at times, nothing unusual. Called him weird and he ate the food. We do not know what was going on at that time when she said that. We do not know her tone of voice or body language. We do not have all the conversation to know context . Maddie never told anyone, not even her friend. I know everyone thinks she had to of hated him because as grown adults, we know we would. When your mind is manipulated and groomed, things get twisted. We know Sterns manipulated her, I think we can all agree on that. He messed with her head.

I can’t stand hearing him speak about Maddie

    • @apeyoutube7485
      @apeyoutube7485 Месяц назад +2

I interpreted it to mean that neither of them told her no but not in a no boundaries type of way but more endearing like she was so sweet it’s hard to not try to give her the world
My little sister was like this and she is 28 now and I still can’t tell her no but she rarely asks for anything and she rarely did as a kid either
You’d think she was spoiled but it really was more that she was so loved and it resulted in a content sweet girl and we really never could say no to her but again she never asked for much because kids really only want or need attention & love
When they get that, they don’t need to compensate with things OR their own way
In fact she’s so easy going that more than anything if we failed her in any way, it was because she was never a squeaky wheel we didn’t ever think to check in with her to ask if anything was ever bothering her and I can see that being the case with madeleine
My sister’s dad passed away when she was little but my stepdad came along when she was not much older so she didn’t go more than a year or two without a father figure
My stepdad is so cool he’s like the big Lebowski nothing phases him & everyone loves him
      She’s so much like him
Im not projecting my sisters life completely onto this case but the similarities are glaring
As much as are the differences
I think between mom & dad, she really was loved & you can tell even her stepmom adored her
I think Stephan was able to compartmentalize & be a good stepdad on one hand
It makes this case so much more tragic because that would create the most confusing situation for Madeline & create a sense of personal involvement in her victimization
People think that grooming looks like something completely different when in reality it most often looks like someone being the best parent or adult mentor, teacher, role model, friend, etc. and the SA is often a small part of it while the rest of the time is often the adult trying to make up for it and make sure the child is happy
The child finds ways to endure the SA and in return gets the love & attention most children deserve & should have from every parent but most don’t get
Acceptance, quality time, gifts, protection, provision, praise, & so much more
I don’t believe Maddie did anything that caused her death
I think a sexual fantasy, role play, act, or some other form of pushing the limits either out of excitement that she got older
Or out of desperation or rfrustration that she was getting older and either becoming an age that he was no longer interested in or that he felt there was too much risk of pregnancy
      Or even anger about it
No one seems to understand that pedophilia is not at all the same as statutory rape
It’s an attraction to prepubescent children
I think he did something to her during a sex act, it went too far & she passed away
It is also very possible that he used some type of drug for drowsiness that made her more compliant & she overdosed
Without a cause of death it’s speculation but it’s rare a child even at 13 would anger the perp of SA when it’s ritualistic Especially enough to result in death, even if he or she has a temper
Because the method of conditioning involved creates a paralyzing fear and/or sense of involvement and personal responsibility for the victim
In other words, the victim is manipulated into doing things that make them believe they are responsible for the perpetrator’s attraction to them and that something they did during one or more event of SA caused it to continue so they don’t have a right to object

8 and 10 are old enough for the conversation. Obviously don’t be explicit, but let them know there’s evil people who want to trick kids to hurt them. Let them know if a stranger asks for information or asks them to follow them, assume they’re bad people. And have the conversation on boundaries regarding their bodies. Tell them how doctors might look at and touch that area if it hurts because they’re sick, but no one else should. Don’t be scary, make sure they know you would never be angry no matter what they told you. It’ll be important when they’re teens too. My dad always made sure I understood that no matter what bad/dumb choices I made, if I felt in danger I could ALWAYS call him to save me and he would never be angry. And he made true on that promise the time I tried alcohol as a teen and got scared because it hit me so hard that I started to feel confused. He was there without hesitation and took me to the ER just in case. And he never held it against me or mentioned it again.

How can one sit and have a conversation with a man regarding "I will come back if you allow me access to your daughter?" and you actually say, "Okay." Jen made these arrangements with this creep and IMO, ALL of Maddie's anxieties stemmed from his outright and overwhelming abuse. JEN SOTO needs to be under the prison for pimping out her daughter and playing stupid.
I've always said from the beginning, Maddie probably told him he can't touch her anymore and now that she is a teenager she would tell of his activities. Funny, she was killed on her birthday, he probably wanted to give her a "present" and she rebelled and he knew she was serious when she told him she would expose him, so because he no longer had control - he killed her.

As speculation, it seems possible that there was a plan to eliminate Madeline. Scenario would be that Maddie was pregnant, expected to continue relationship with Stephan. mom was both jealous and also panicked that now the whole sordid story was going to become public, Stephan did not want to eliminate Maddie but afraid to face the consequences of his conduct with Maddie. He may have done it or the mom may have done ot, but he did not want to eliminate her and was actually sad to lose her whereas Jennifer was glad she was gone. Jennifer did not even have a birthday party for her own daughter, and 13 is a special milestone for a child. I think her jealousy overcame her love for her own daughter.

Jennifer Soto needs to be held accountable for bad parenting , her bad behavior and the neglect that Maddie endured because of the decisions that her mother made for her.
This was a on going thing in this child's life.
This child had nobody to defending her , Maddie got a little older and was only trying to defend herself by telling that man ENOUGH AND SHE WAS GONNA TELL . I Don't know one woman / mom who invites their daughter to sleep every night between her boyfriend and her it's DISTURBING! THIS MAN ISN'T EVEN HER FATHER ! ITS VERY INAPPROPRIATE FOR A LITTLE GIRL AT THE AGE OF 9 SLEEPING IN A BED WITH HER MOM AND HER BOYFRIEND. Maybe that's why Jenn said she saw Maddie that morning getting ready, but then when Stephan was busted throwing Maddie's backpack and laptop in the dumpster at 7:30am, Jenn had to change her story, claiming it was actually the night before that she last saw her daughter. Remember how Lori Daybell took her kids on a vacation as some sort of "send off", then brought them home and murdered them. Could that be what the Sunday birthday party was all about? Did Jen and Stephan plan Maddie's demise ahead of time, like she was either too old or she threatened to tell or she was pregnant. Stephan told the other woman he was dating about going back to the house sometimes and sleeping with Madeline, like he was gauging her reaction. She was creeped out and stopped seeing him.
