Hey All! Thanks for watching my review and I hope you enjoy it. 🙏
CORRECTION though -- I haven't been getting much sleep and I got my percentages mixed up multiple times in the voice over benchmark commentary. The charts, numbers, and summary are all still correct, but if I say "the 5900X is x% faster than the 10900K/3900X" what I meant to say is "the 10900K/3900X is x% slower than the 5900X". All my percentage-difference calculations were relative to the 5900X, but you can't just swap those values like I did. Apologies for any confusion, I realized this WAY too late to fix it. 😅
I got a 5950x !!! 😄😄😄
You are lucky to get pc components at launch, i on the other hand i cant upgrade my system easily though they are in stock on amazon
This pandemic is becoming worse and its making things difficult

@@tecnoPTY yeah its bout time, gonna hold on one more generation i believe. Its insane how much more performance theyll be, But im graphics card bound atm.

@Warm Soft Kitty the thing is that the majority of people do play at 1080p though. At least according to the steam hardware survey last i checked, it's also to the point where it's meaningfully better even at 1440p vs 2000 series.
(i play at 1080/1440p and have been for a while. depends on my performance in 1440p. I love my eyecandy)

I am trying to juggle raising 3 kids with 1 years in total between them and still trying to watch Pauls videos, beat that Pauls Hardware!
just like everyone else in the world.... for the first month of the pandemic i get it.. but its been nearly 8 months and he cant find adequate solution? does jay not have kids? does linus not have kids? does monitor steve not have kids?

Just realize Intel asked 1400 USD for less cores than this, just a short 4 years ago.
How about 4 years from now?
@@krioni86sa 64 cores to run Microsoft Word
I mean that's like saying "Just imagine AMD charging $4000 for a processor with only 2.9Ghz only a couple years ago". Doesn't really tell the whole story
@@JB-xl2jc Yeah, I don't really get what they mean for the Intel joke or whatever they're implying
Just to show how far things have come, it'd be nice to see Skylake/Ryzen 1000 compared with WhateverLake/Ryzen 5000.
Thank you, Paul. When I want a high-quality review from a genuinely kind and relatable person, I come to you first. Best wishes to you and your family.
I tried ordering from AMD's website and never got past the screen where you enter your payment information, page either spit back an error message or went back to the main page listing all the new 5000 cpus. Sad they had to copy nvidia and release the cpus with only a handful for availability.
And everywhere is sold out already.
Linus told me to remember this day...
funny, creative. definitely NOT the 50th time ive seen this comment on all these review videos....
Because of the election in America? Now Linus is getting political too?!?! (joking)
Agreed, even he's given up on Intel, slash Nvidia, which is good, fact also Linus runs a independent company helps..all best
Intel: Stop the benchmarks
AMD: Every benchmark should be counted.
😂
Excellent video Paul! So hyped for these, the value proposition is insane! Just picked up a 5600x for my first upgrade in 10 years!
It will be interesting to see how much extra performance they get when paired with a 6800/6800xt/6900xt GPU, with that Smart Access Memory
That's what I'm waiting for. Data from actually using that feature and rather or not its worth buying both new cpu and gpu
Tru I’m planning I’m on getting 5900x and rx6900xt hopefully it’ll be amazing
The drivers as always will lest it down.
I expect a big boost, because there is so much more memory available
A couple percent at max for the current generation of games. I imagine future generations of games will show a bigger difference.

Congratulations PAUL! You're my first zen 3 review video watched. now onto 10 more. :) Cannot wait to upgrade over my 2700x.
Thanks for an in depth review, covered all the bases. Glad I watched the reviews after buying as stock sold out very quickly.
And for the rest of us come back in 3 months when you can actually buy one
Was watching 4 different sites and the amd where to buy page. Cycling through them refreshing. Never saw 1 cpu in stock.

Thanks Jon! Send pics 😄
Seems about right. As of 2hours post launch chips aren't available, but we will see how quickly or if they come back in stock.
Awesome having a separate greeting for the gaming benchmarks. Much excellent.
Thank you Paul :) We were waiting for this so badly and BDW you are the first one to upload the video
Great video, but we need another product review for GN’s bar runner.
As of 7:15
Newegg sold out before I ever even saw the product listing
B&H is no longer accepting preorders
Best Buy is still listed as coming soon
Amazon cannot get to product through search, if you go manually it shows as currently unavailable
Same, was refreshing every 10 minutes and never saw a listing until they where already sold out on Newegg.
Your videos about computer parts are really insightful! I learned a lot and can't wait to build my pc if parts available in my country.
Good stuff as always. You're my "go to" for reviews.
👍Thanks for the information. I was going to buy launch day and decided to wait for some of your videos along with GN.
A nice refreshing video, with everything going on. Great job Paul. Like always say, thanks for getting straight to the point.
Skips ahead and he welcomes me. Thanks Paul!! :-)
Thanks so much Paul !,,, nicely done! and You made up my mind for my next build!,,, wonderful,,,,

Thanks for including MS Flight Simulator in the benchmarks. It's a title that I was hoping would see a significant performance uplift since it seems to be so CPU bound, and I haven't seen anybody else include it yet.
I use my system for gaming and streaming, will pair my 5900x with 3080 and use NVENC (NEW) for streaming. Which RYZEN MASTER setting should I use? Gaming or Content creators? Also what's a good starting point for manual overclock? Thanks!
i been waiting for this video, knew one of yous would have one
Thanks for the review Paul. Any idea if 3600 CL16 is still the sweet spot for the higher end CPUs? Should we be aiming to get 4000 speed memory?
I was refreshing for this video!
And intel is refreshing 14nm!
@@Im_Ryan haha, that made me laugh.
I was 6th in line at micro center for a 5900x, didn't really have anything better to do than refresh youtube for the reviews, and Paul's Hardware was the first video to show up in my subscriptions.
I can now confirm that the CPU holds up to what they reviews are saying. I'm getting a lot better FPS, my temperatures remain cool, and the 12 cores I have access to run great on my rendering software!
You got me when I jumped to 12:01 - I had to look over my shoulder to make sure you weren't watching.
Great vid...just sucks sold out. Had a feeling this was going tonhapen so now question is do i wait it out being i need a board too for build or do i just get 570 board and 3000 series and use till market stablizes
Just figured i would get 5000 series with new navi card to take advantage of boost but seems to be a harder mission then planned.
Dont want to spend money just to have to spend more.later....with loss...guess ill wait it out for now. Time will tell i guess
Im running a 2600k now with 6900xfx gpu. Gets job done bit cant wait to get faster...

Thank you Paul. Nobody was comparing those cpu using flight simulators. You did and helped me. I'll go with 5900X than, since I'll be streaming and using lots of programs when doing so. Thnx!
Good video. Informative and concise.
Hey Paul phenomenal video 🍻 I have a 2700X with an Asus X470 MB with a founders edition GTX 1080 TI do you think I should upgrade now or wait for the X670 and AM5 and hopefully with prices are coming back to normal?
Awesome video Paul!
Paul! I’m building a VR gaming pc and I’m trying to pick between the ryzen 7 3700x and the ryzen 5 5600x. Does the new architecture on the Zen 3 make up for the difference in cores and threads for VR gaming?
I like how the footage for the cinebench single core benchmark is still using the multi-core rendering footage 6:19
I just realised im not subbed, wtf, take it man, take it, ive liked your content for over a year now, keep it up.
*Hi Paul*
Thanks for including the FS2020 scores! It's good to see the game range expanded and your test has sealed my decision as to what processor to buy. I hope you will be doing the same for the new AMD vs Nvidia graphics cards.
Also consider AMD seems to be integrating their GPU and CPU setups, it'd be interesting to see what combination will work best. Ryzen + Big Navi, or Ryzen + Nvidia
10:24 Good grief, man, put your gear up! 😂
In all seriousness, though - thanks Paul, an informative analysis with some very useful background information. And that's the first time I've seen anyone explain what the software used for benchmarking actually does in the real world 👍
Nice Video Paul!,, thanks!,,,

That "familiar" meme face was priceless...
Cool. When does it come out?
Hi Paul. Micro Center in Fairfax Virginia is only selling the Ryzen 5000 series CPU's in store (10* available of each per website). Glad to see and seems to be an excellent solution to avoid scalping as much as possible. I wonder if they will do the same for the RX 6000 series GPU launch?
Paul , your videos are easy and simple to understand and all are detailed well.
Currently happy with Ryzen 7 3700X
I liked this video because you actually had Esports titles like LOL and CSGO where we saw 19+% improvements and those were on High settings (so possibly more if going to Low for max FPS).
paul testing handbrake with his review of GN deskmat is really funny lol
Thanks Paul x
Thanks Paul!
Thanks for the awesome review Paul! Your review on the AMD combo cpu and gpu will be Awesome!
So someone like me who is planning to stream and game at the same time should be looking for a Ryzen 5900x and a RTX 3080? Also, what cooling system do you recommend as well as Ram? I actually want the best performance for game/streaming so I can compete professionally in Apex Legends. Thank you for the video.
Got my 5900x and was a bit conerned seeing the temps when it would run 72 ish when gaming. Guess they just like to run very hot.
I laughed so damn hard when Paul called out the people that would skip to the end, I am guilty 😂😂😂
12:03 you almost did a RandomGamingInHD intro
What I'm seeing from all this is that I should really build a new system around the 3900 or 3950X, because I'm still on an old i5 6600K, and it's probably going to be a while before it's easy to get ahold of a 5000 series without it being a re-sell with a jacked up price. Are there AM4 socket boards that will support the 5000 series processors? Would be nice to have the option to upgrade to the 5000 series when they are more available.
Lawrence Timme RUclipsr got hold of a 5000 serious 2 days ago and did benchmark mark tests, great results..all best

Hey Paul, just wanted to ask how does the price to performance change if we bought one of the i9 10850k at $429 since they went on sale. Does it make it a better value or do they even out.
Copped a 5900x 1 minute into the 1am launch here in Australia. Hopefully I am one of the lucky 15% of orders who will actually get a chip in the first batch of orders.
Watched GN and HUB and DerBauer, But you Know I had to stop by Paul's Hardware to Check out the Goods... Looking Pretty Good! 👍🤩😎
when it comes to rendering i wish you compered them to some of the thredripers
Are you using PBO for all these tests? If so, it'd only be fair to remove TDP locks on the Intel chip, as those are the roughly equivalent features that fall short of manual overclocks.
There's a 25% off sale on the 3900xt series on a tech store close by. Is there enough of a difference for me to wait for the 5800x or 5900x to come back in stock?
I would be interested to see these gaming benchmarks run with the fastest ram each cpu can handle. I have an intel and my 3d mark cpu scores were 3k higher just by running a bit faster ram.
2020 is a good year to build my first computer. What would be the ideal build with a budget of 1300-1000 canadian dollars? That Ryzen 5 5600x looks like a good deal. 👍🏻
Nice first review is in.
The upcoming builds with AMD 5000 series and Big navy are going to be exciting.
Paul .. what's a good voltage to run the Ryzen 5900x ?
Thank you. I am going to have to keep my i9 9900KS for years to come. I'm looking forward to AMD's 7000 series GPUs for 4k in a couple of years though.
Thanks for the awesome review, glad I went for the 5900X over 3950X I nearly bought two weeks ago! that with my Samsung 980 Pro 7000mbps NVMe, work and gaming is going to be effortless on my Zotac 1080Ti AMP Extreme until the 3080's become affordable
Paul can you make a "racing games benchmark"? Like 1080p single screeen, 1080p triple screen for iRacing, Assetto corsa, Assetto corsa competizione, RF2, AM2? Would be a nice niche for benchmarks....plz do it ;)
Thanks Paul
So, I have a dumb (maybe) question. I am currently using a basic Ryzen 3600 on an x570 motherboard. I built my PC with the idea to upgrade it down the road. Can I pre-flash a new BIOS in preparation for getting a 5800x or better and the computer still work fine? I have never updated a motherboard BIOS for so, it's one of the few computer build aspects I have very limited knowledge about. Thanks for any help from Paul and/or the comments.
Failed to get a next-gen console and an Nvidia 30 series, but I just got my order in for 5800x. WOOO!!
I tried to get a 5900x, sold out everywhere. But ebay is littered with scalpers selling em
@@Alecxace Im waiting for that 5900x but OMG EBAY IS SO EXPENSIVE
I preordered a 5800x as well. But damn, everyone telling me to get a 5900x instead lol.
@@DiesMemoria Haha yeah I've noticed that too.
I don't understand, someone could explain, why do you use different SSD's on intel and Ryzen test rigs? I've seen the same on LTT and don't understand why.
This is a first, Amazon.co.uk don't seem to even have listings for the 5000 series processors... or perhaps they had and they sold out so fast that the landing pages were removed lol.
Good stuff Paul. What are your thoughts about RAM speed? I hear that AMD makes use of faster RAM.
about to build a new pc just wanting on amd gpus to push the button its all about gaming for me aim for 2k or under uk £ so thats about 2.6k dollar all in i got about 8 plus years out last set up and its still ok now. do you think the 5600x would last more than 5 years gaming at 2k 165hz or should i fork out the exta for the 5900x now to save later? Thanks.
Wow u got to be the first on yt :D good job
What a time to be alive!!
I ordered this from Scan at 14:06 (released at 14:00 in UK). When I added it to the basket it said delivery tomorrow BUT when after I bought it it said I preordered it with an estimation of the 20th wthhh
Hey Paul, do you think there would be a Ryzen 7 5700x and if yes, when do you think it would come out?
I am looking forward to seeing the test results of Zen3 with Big Navi compared to these results.
Thanks for the reviews, I was hoping for a 5900x but my luck was not with me. I was able to snag a 5600x by refreshing my cart. I look forward to comparisons.
And here we go!!!
I got my ryzen 9 5900x from Scan in the UK, should be delivered tomorrow, upgrading from 3600XT. I hope my nzxt kraken x62 will be able to cool it and allow for some overclocking headroom. I am using a 4k 120hz monitor and felt like 3600xt actually bottlenecks even in games like battlefield V as it reaches 80%+ utilization and my RTX 3080 utilization is around 80-90%
Is there a link to that graph @11:39 ?
I've done a bunch of googling, just wish content creators would include sources :/
Amazing, wonder if I should upgrade from my 2700x? I mean my motherboard does support the chip, might as well?
VTEC just kicked in Yooooo !!
All I gotta say . And I got one comeing at retail . F scalpers
Thank you Paul, out of all of the Tech RUclipsrs I watch, you were the only one with a direct link to unlisted 5000 processors - I unfortunately didn't get to order the 5800x I wanted, but I could at least sign up for auto notify. Hopefully it won't take the month an a half that 3300x took to get to me!
EDIT: I had a typo. Also, looking forward to your 5800x review!
Quick question, for people buying a Ryzen 5600X process with an Asus TUF X570 Gaming Motherboard. Can you flash the Motherboard BIOS with the AGESA 1.0.8.0 or newer BIOS without installing the Ryzen 5600X CPU?
Yeah no one uses the stock coolers for 3000 series which is like a 40$ cooler at best. Makes sense to use aftermarket.
