Yeah, cost of migration may not be able to justify switching, not to mention the industry wide known support it may have. Heck Android Studio if I remember were having issues with AMD not fully optimise for its Android VM. Though Tbh it's better to test on actual hardware anyways if you have one.

@Dan The Man sooner or later the 14nm+++ architecture will reach its limit. intel would have to go 7nm tsmc or 8nm samsung for their next step, but they seemingly dont even have a clue on how to work out a new architecture. intel may have rnd but amd has raw brute force.

When you removed the cover of the be quiet waterblock all I saw was an arc reactor.
Yes it was really cool
The fact that the AIO has the pump mid-cable is super awesome; Not only does it seemingly work to keep the system quiet, but having the pump installed the way it is helps circulate the AIO better as all the fluids going in are pretty much going to be pushed out, as well as the fact that the design can actually improve flow rates as the pump can technically do double duty, if constructed as much. Very nice design.

12:05 I ranted about this exact concern months ago on my radio show. People actively wishing for Intel's demise have no idea how badly that would hurt the consumer. If AMD gets far enough ahead to rest on their laurels, we'll all pay the heavy price for it.
This is the best time to be a PC enthusiast since the late 90s precisely because of competition.
Altough I don't want Intel's demise, it wouldn't bother me if they lagged behind for a little time, don't know, maybe 2-3 gens, not being horrible, just going a little behind. I think that would be the best for us consumers in the long run. Why?. Because even if AMD is better right now, Intel is a MUCH LARGER company with a MUCH LARGER market share, with a lot more money to spend in R&D than AMD's total value, so it could be good for us, and it could take a few gens, for market share to balance and AMD to grow, so they can keep the competition when Intel comes back.
The history is much more complex than this, but it happened before. Remember Athlon? remember AMD launching the first dual core and x64? and Intel frying eggs with the P4 and Netburst? But Intel used anticompetitive practices that prevented AMD to grow while they prepared a comeback with the Core lineup, then AMD took a few bad steps and it almost went bankrupt, they divided in AMD and GlobalFoundries while Intel had us with quad cores for 10 year (core 2 quad was released in Jan 2007) till AMD did a comeback with Ryzen in 2007 making quad cores lower end and bringing 6 and 8 cores to the masses (and now up to 16 cores)
I don't agree that Intel is now the underdog, Intel is "just having a bad day", AMD is still the underdog and for this to reverse it will take years. I would like the market to balance to make it a "fair figth" so we can benefit as consumers.
PD: with a comparatively ridiculous R&D budget AMD is fighting both Intel's and nVidia's dominance.

@@xthomas7621 AMD always was the cheaper option, and Intel kept raising prices. They don't want to be that brand that you buy because you can't afford Intel. Mother compatibility and upgradeability is far better than Intel, always was, but the problem with that is that sooner or later, trying to support an old motherboard will limit your CPU development. I have a few friends with B450 and R5 1600 and 2600 who are waiting (and can happily wait) for the BIOS update so they can go for the monster that is the 5600X, with Intel something like that it's not even a thought. But, as said earlier competition is the best for us, and Intel even being second could force AMD prices down as AMD did to nVidia Turing lineup only by releasing the 5700xt at a price/perfomance that forced the Super lineup and pricedrops to appear.
Lisa Su from AMD literally just said "Alea iacta est" (The die is cast), crossed the Rubicon, and marched directly on Intel with an army of Zen 3 hardware at her back. The results: AMD's official title is now "Dictator in Perpetuity".
Finally feel ready to upgrade my i7-4790k @ 4.7ghz (which has served me very well thus far) to one of AMD's 5000 series CPU's...
I'm upgrading from an i7 2600k to a 5600x, feels good. Just came back from the store.

As someone who wants MAX FPS in FPS games I would love to see some testing at everything off/ MAX low graphics settings to really show what the CPUs can do for FPS throughput.
Gamers Nexus did Medium and AMD wins. If they win at Medium, they'll almost definitely win at Low.

That’s not how cpu testing works some games at low settings won’t use more then 30% of the cpu because everything is handled on the gpu and even then sometimes the gpu is only at 70% the point of putting everything at max 4k is to stress the gpu and cpu you could technically stress the cpu on low by putting the resolution to 8k but come on who is really doing that if you get 600fps in cs:go at max setting you don’t need more frames 340hz is the highest panel for gaming you can get right now so yeah if you playing a comp fps and hitting 340locked why not ring up some setting to make things a bit more clear

AMD has around 22% market share in CPUs right now, so until they get towards the 50%, the competition is still there. I would not be as concerned as bitwit is.

In Intel's defence, its not like they haven't been trying to move off of 14nm for awhile. The difference here is that AMD sold off its fabs in favor of using TSMC. Intel mostly does in house fab. They have been working on a 10 and 7 nm process for a long time, but they can never get the yields right, so they have been pushing 14nm as hard as it can go. As much as I love to meme on the 14nm++++++++++++++++++ shit as much as anyone else, they have been making efforts to get off of it for years.

The fanboy argument is hilarious. Fanboys are the reason AMD is garbage. RYZEN 9s at 90°C under normal workload, mobo USB connectivity issues, and large DOA percentages plague AMD because their fanboys don't hold them accountable, causing these issues to get swept under the rug. Don't get me wrong, I am dedicated to no dog in the fight. My dog is the best product, and right now AMD is shitting the bed. If you want marginally better performance, choose AMD. If you want faith in the sustainability of your build, choose Intel. At least until AMD fixes not only supply issues, but the aforementioned ones too. That is, until Rocket Lake comes...

TBH, I think I'll just stick with my i9-9900k till i can afford to build another PC.
I'm still on an i7-7700K, and I see no reason to upgrade any time soon since it's perfectly fine for the kind of stuff I do with my computer (coding, gaming, RUclips). It's not like we live in the late 1990s, where a CPU was hopelessly obsolete 2 years after its release.

The results for AMD are great, but let's not foget that when coupled with the new GPUs they are rolling out games and everything is supposed to be EVEN faster, so looking forwards to seeing comparisons of full AMD builds! Also, because the AMD GPUs aren't out yet so we don't know for sure if they'll beat the RTX3000s, there's a good chance AMD won't rest on it's laurels just yet until they dominate both markets!
temperature and power draw per benchmare would be interesting as well, as those do have an impact if one is building a system for the long run.
Honestly intel may just be the budget option now. With a 10400f being way cheaper than the 3600, intel is poised to make a large presence in the budget cpu market.

10400f still makes most sense if 95% of workload is going to be gaming.

Still going to wait till next gen intel. AMD drivers always let me down. Intel i have zero issues. I am happy to see amd give a good race tho, all of us win.
Drivers?? If you're you talking about their gpu's then sure but a cpu doesn't require drivers.
I have bought 2 amd systems to save money and each time I have been let down. I play tons of games, but mostly mod skyrim. Over 3000 mods, 2500+ esl/esp/esms merged to 1700ish, tons of scripts, ton of custom 2,4,8k textures & models and amd falls flat vs a intel / nvidia build. You get what you pay for, and I found amd is not the one I need. I am happy they are doing great, means cheaper parts for all. But ill wait.
@@Canlocu I will admit their gpu's have problems but the ryzen cpu's are just as stable as intel now. You can go ryzen + nvidia that should work perfectly

I see all my favorite hardware ytubers praising awesome new tech, that to +80% of us is not available until mid next year. It's pretty awesome to see AMD getting ahead of intel (& probably NVIDIA?), but I might want an upgrade now for "lockdown-winter", not in summer when everything reopens.

I have prob watched all your videos learning all the ins and outs of pc's. Just learning and soaking up every bit of information I could I have never experienced playing on an actually good machine let alone game on any type of pc I have only ever have been a consol noob... Watching you inspired me to save up to build my own killer pc and then covid happened and I lost my job I am currently unemployed still and I am living the hardest times I have ever experienced in my life we are living day to day and its extremly hard to get a job in the small town I live in.. Things are just so rough right now playing warzone on my xbox is the only escape I have in my life right now.. One day I hope to get back on my feet and build the pc you inspired me to do. I been praying and just hoping something good comes my way I know I cant complain because I know someone somewhere has it worse then me but I will continue to watch your videos and drool over the machine I may have one day.
