      Brian, I have an idea for a comparison, if you can pull it off:
      I'd love to see you attempt to put together a system where you save every buck so you can score a good local deal on a strong GPU. Like $600 budget and cram in a GTX 1080.
      These days, there are 2 ways to go on the used market either when building yourself or to flip. One is the good old HP Z400/ThinkStation S20 route with a Xeon W3690 from China and a strong GPU like a 1070 or 1080. You can stream, you aren't bottle necked in graphically intensive single player games and you can just upgrade to a new platform down the line.
      The other way is the esports build. Used B450 and 16GB 3200Mhz, then buy a new (unless you can get a good used deal) 5600X. Most eSports titles are so incredibly CPU bottlenecked, that something like a GTX 970 won't reach more than 70% performance in Fortnite (performance mode), Valorant or Rocket League. For someone who only plays games like that, buying a used HD7950, replacing thermal paste, undervolting and overclocking it nets nearly GTX 1650 performance for a fraction of the price. And that's all an eSports gamer needs, because especially kids these days love getting their 240-300 FPS (which these GPUs can easily reach if not CPU bottle necked).
      I've experimented with this in my local market and the single player/graphically superior builds just won't sell. I'd love to see if you can pull it off.

    Problem with buying used prebuilt is that they are cheaper when bought as a pre built than buying individual parts and then building. So people tend to buy pre-builts cheap and sell them at fairly higher rate considering the used market prices of the individual parts.
    GPUs specially when in prebuilts PCs come at fairly decent price about the msrp or 1.5 to 2 times, while the used market is on fire for past year and more.

      @bomber957 2 года назад +1

      Not really true, 10700k uses like 210w under a full load. You have headroom to upgrade that 6600XT. Current build gives you about 150w of breathing room. I’m not saying I’d recommend pushing the PSU to the limit but the constant advocating for super high wattage PSUs is dumb unless you’re running a 3090 or something similar that has high power spikes that trigger some PSUs over current protection.
      Not to mention if you do generational upgrades you could literally take that PSU to the grave because generally speaking new GPU’s get more power efficient.

    • @Krrish85
      @Krrish85 2 года назад +1

    sometimes people can't actually build a system so when a system is slightly over the cost of buying used parts, maybe take into consideration the time put in to assemble the system, not all systems are 2nd hand used systems being sold 'due to upgrade' sometimes people will put the time and effort into assembling systems to sell on to those that can't assemble themselves, I build my own, and often look for bargains, just saying that looking at the cost of parts alone isn't always the full picture in cost if someone can't assemble it themselves and have to pay a friend to assemble the parts :D

    price to performance wise, I think the first PC was the best deal... 6900xt, Ryzen 7 2700x, tons of storage and 13% savings? hard to argue in my opinion that an 8700k and 1080/1080ti setup that's 5 years old is worth it, even at the lower pricing. You're just flat out gonna need better equipment sooner. You wouldn't catch me dead buying that system with those older parts involved. I'd rather see a Ryzen 3000 series chip in the first pc, but a 2700x is still pretty good for now, and even my A320M mobo from ASROCK now has 5000 series Chip support with a BIOS flash. So whatever board that had (I can't remember) should support something more powerful straight away or with a BIOS flash down the line, and you have the 2700x to do the flash with. I don't see where those older intel systems with 1000 series GPU's are worth $1,000+ anymore. Regardless of the stupid economy we're dealing with.
