I’m glad you’re calling companies out on excessive packaging. I think you’ve done it in previous videos and I’ve commented there too. It really frustrates me that we as the end users get penalised for the disposal of packaging when we have little control over its creation. More manufacturers should be held to account and reduce it at source.
Rather the opposite. I would much rather get a charger in my box than have the company virtue-signal about their ecofriendliness.
But here it's just extra cardboard and half a gram of plastic baggies. That's nothing compared to the amount of plastics and other materials we use on a daily basis. Any yoghurt cup or salad wrapper uses more plastic. The biggest environmental impact I'd wager is the production of the electronics and the batteries. In a product that will be disposed of in 18 months because the batteries are dead.

@@CatatonicImperfect I know this is 11 months late but I feel you are missing the point. That extra cardboard and plastic baggies mean a lot more than what you make it sound. That extra cardboard could be shrunk by 3 times at least meaning every truckload or plane trip could fit 3x the amount in it taking less fuel to distribute. It would also mean 3x less on producing literal waste. The baggies as well scale to the thousands for something that doesn't serve a purpose. Now I am not saying pushing all this wireless stuff on people isn't going to do good on the environment, they just serve a purpose unlike all the wasted space and cotton and plastic bags.

I have many airpods I have found around my city, I have BOSE inner ear headphones... And I have a pair of sports headphones from a company called Woosik... Let me tell you, of the 3, my 15 Dollar Woosik headphones sound and play the best. Its a shame how these companies are robbing people, including myself because I actually paid for my BOSE headphones and they were well over 100 dollars. its all a damn money game for these Asian countries, and if we manufactured more of these styles of items in the USA we would be at a better point in this country! Period!

To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

Ironically LV products, bags, wallets, etc have very little leather. The body of these products are made from canvas coated in PVC. So you’re spending $2k on canvas coated in plastic with a few pieces of leather stitched on.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. While yes they do sell coated canvas items, they also use various other types of materials. They are also pretty explicit on their website when saying whether or not an item is coated or using genuine leather.
I really appreciate calling out the greenwashing. I hope more reviewers do that so that sincere effort on sustainability becomes a more prominent business concern.
If you want to go about sustainability: Why even have battery powered earphones? You can have corded earbuds you will not throw away per default after 1-2 years. And if you want to do activities with them on, why not rope jumping?

I would just opt for having a replaceable battery. I'm sure someone can figure out how to design a product like that without adding a bunch of bulk.

Honestly it's easy money for LV. Send a few of them out to famous rappers to flex on the gram, and you get a lot of less high profile rappers and their younger fan base drooling over these. Just find a random OEM and make money off of brand power alone.
@agapp11able These are actually quite possibly the worst imaginable earbuds in their price range, and are about two steps from actual fraud. Upper middle class status symbol is the only thing these can dream of being. True elite and enthusiast brands like Audeze cost about the same but are basically defining the gold standard of their market and using one-of-a-kind bleeding edge tech. Louis Vuitton as a brand exists specifically and exclusively to cater to people with more money than sense who want others to see that fact on full display.

I have the standard MW07 headphones and they've held up really well for a couple years now. Great sound quality and build.
In all realness, if i saw somebody with huge red earbuds in, i'd assume they ordered cheap ones from wish.
The second he pulled he pulled out the earbuds, I immediately thought "Those look exactly like my Master and Dynamic's" and pulled up the M&D page to find nothing. Thought I was going insane until Linus brought it up.

I thought the exact same thing. I really did enjoy my M&D earbuds though. Besides the new Sony's, the M&Ds have been my favorite! I've owned a lot of BT earbuds in the last 5 years.
I actually do like that combed design they have, that looks pretty neat and the shape of the bud body itself is one of my preferred styles just based on my own ear comfort

Some brands overcharge tenfold by design. These are products for people who want to show they don't have to care about the price at all. Even knowing they could get the same quality for 500% less, they don't care.

I was more referring to the type of causal rebranding of small scale devices by non-tech companies, seems to be especially prevalent with wireless earbuds.

They do make nice bags sometimes! In terms of headphones these days, I'm Sony all in (360 reality audio is awesome), unless I'm just getting a cheaper pair!

My wife inherited several new, real LV bags. She promptly sold them and used the money to pay off most of her debt - best use we will ever have for such things.
I tend to spend the most money on things that will last decades, and provide a usability that never diminishes vs an item that is subject to society's perception and/or socially trendy standards.
Not to mention, a bag that is used often will deprecate in value quickly and eventually break apart. These LV bags are basically always kept in a wardrobe without ever seeing the light of the sun, except maybe for the occasional fancy occasion once every few years.

To be fair to LV, apart from being one of the most efficient ways of converting money into looking like a worse human being, their handbags and stuff are usually made of really really high quality leather. not that that actually matters ofc, but at least you know that it's just overpriced, not actually bad.
That is most people. Hence why these are "luxury" it is the definition. The fact they diminish is also part of the "luxury" of them. Pay a lot to be a cutting edge trend and move to the next b/c the point is to be cutting. Though depending they may not diminish I will say, select versions can be collectables.

Always wondered why if a company has the money why not back it up with an amazing sound experience v.v it's already 1200 no one is gonna fret if you spend a couple extra hundred for actually good sound quality.

On buds more money does not necessarily better sound make. There are always weight, size, and battery life tradeoffs
Because they will not sell that many. Making really good ones is not cheap, it would almost certainly lose them money. They are not a rich company because they spend much to earn little. The reason why Apple or Samsung make better Earphones is because they sell the quantities to justify high development costs.
Yeah, why not start with the most important stuff like audio quality, background noise cancelling quality... usability, you know, like... quality quality, and THEN add leather cable tie and wealthy people bits and bobs?
You could then have "the absolute best X" advertisement line and kind of hide behind this actually defensible position when the cost becomes apparent.
Why not do it? Luis Vitton was never actually a company I ever would buy anything from, but at least I didn't have anything bad to say about them. You know, designer bags are... Well, designer bags. I don't really care about them at all. But after seeing this product with their logo on it, and at that price? Well...That's embarrassing, and the entire fault I'd squarely lay on LV and not on the company that actually designed the hardware, because I'm pretty sure if LV wanted a top of the line quality product, they have the money to pay people who know how to do it. They just chose not to.
In the end, do I care about rich people being basically scammed out of their money by LV? Not really. But it's still in a bad taste.

@@PaintsAreOp I've got €14 Xiaomi Airdots myself. They're pretty good too. I compared them to my friend's Apple Airpods and I couldn't really hear much of a difference. But maybe that's just because I'm not an audiophile.
