If you can get the ribbon cable in custom lengths, why not just a little, 1" one that comes out the MB and does a neat 90 ark into the backplate? You can normally do pretty tight bends with ribbon type cables.

13:44 @JayzTwoCents You must remember that cables do require a minimum bending radius. A 90Deg bend will create a hotspot in the cable that will result in premature failure. The closure you approach 90, the great the increase in degradation. Each cross section/gauge of cable will have a minimum so there will be a constraint on how much you cable turn your supply cables. If you wanted a strict 90, the PCB route with defined traces maybe the best option (which of course will require precise measurements and be subject to cyclic thermal wear over time).

But the comments section went crazy over it being wood and complained about it being a fire-hazard and not protected against EMI. I think desks with built-in PCs is the way of the future.. or even the PC built into the wall and you just have a small table in front of you just big enough to hold your keyboard and mouse. The monitor will also be set into the wall like some rich people do with their big flat screen televisions. Because one thing about PC cases and our desks is they take up a lot of room in our houses especially for those like myself who have our PC and Desk in the bedroom. So I like the idea of combining the PC into a desk/wall to free up space. Surely I'm not the only one.

Power distribution plates on drones was a game changer, makes perfect sense to do the same for PC chassis. Now I want an addon pdb for my current case...

Back 2006 I built a machine using a black light reflective all acrylic case. It was quite the show piece at LAN parties. It's pretty cool to see the clear cases still being done.

I’m really loving the idea of a power board. I think it could be a major change to the industry with some work. I also think this concept would work spectacularly with ATX12V to eliminate cable clutter.

I agree with you Jay the black is way better than the clear on the backplane, but I'd have it flat rather than gloss to match the aluminum better.

I do agree...When he is selling $10K+ systems (some are even double that), that expense is peanuts.
I've been following Daniel before he got "big"...way back when he first started, before he had his first shop failure where he got taken for a ride...right after he didn't know if he was even going to be alive today due to illness. Glad he's still around, some AMAZING freaking work from him.

    All clear case - okay
    Water Cooled - Good
    SLI - Better
    Vertical mount - WTF?
Gentleman, you had my curiosity, now you have my attention.

I love the power block idea. I wish this was already something that existed for more cases. I'd love to see something for the Thermaltake Tower 900. A big case with a lot of room. a replacement motherboard panel power block, along with a front to rear pass-thru/distro plate would really make my PC look even more badass.

For mounting the raspberry pi display, your side panel is acrylic, so you can mount it on there. Even with screws, no glue needed.

If you added rubber feet and allowed for enough length in the mounting bolts, you may be able to attach two of those feet fasteners to support the remainder of the chassis. That would remove a lot of flex from the chassis.
