      @@Toasty_Britches that actually isn't the reality.
      the way V acts in the game isn't someone who is desperate or has the urgency of death even though we are told that this is the case. Way too virtuous and benevolent and too little self preservation for someone about to die in 2 weeks. But the reason for this is more because its a game. You have to be able to do content outside of the urgency of the problem.
      if you do not get to play V as the protagonist, V would be like songbird. Desperate and doing everything she can to survive.

    • @Toasty_Britches
      @Toasty_Britches Месяц назад +23

      @lostvayne9146 that's the entire point of it being a game, though. The reality is that however the player role plays V is what ideally forms his/her decision. To say that "in reality x" would happen with a player character would be to strip away the factor of the player entirely, at which point you're simply watching a movie, not playing a game.
      To the point that I'm not even suggesting that V absolutely would have saved Songbird as a matter of fact, I'm saying that's what V has done by my direction and how I personally constructed her dynamic. There is no "actually" because if there were it wouldn't have been a game at all.

      what I am saying is that the line “Could’ve just told me the truth! Would’ve helped you out anyways!” is not something songbird can ever do nor believe. The fact that she actually does tell you and plays fair removes her from being truly rotten.
      Yes I am stripping away the factor of the player. It ain't D&D. The game is following a very specific story and V has their own personality. Its more of an interactive storybook than actual roleplay.

    • @01101
      @01101 Месяц назад +7

      Loved this line, because it's exactly what my V did in the end.
      He was the second-in-command of Arasaka Counter Intelligence, he's not stupid enough to completely fall into Songbird's lies. But, I do think he was willing to try anything at that point; even if it meant just saving someone else in the same boat.
      This was true still, when giving Songbird over to Reed instead. In the shuttle, being terrified that he was killing his best friend to get what he'd thought he wanted, realizing he doesn't want it, stopped wanting it a long time ago.
      If Songbird had been truthful sooner (unlikely if it was right off the bat,) he would've switched gears when that "I don't want to keep trying to find a way to end this, I think I've been running on only instinct for half of it" clicked in sooner. "I think this is better, or at least something I CAN do."

    I did all endings and the one that I like the most and made more sense to me was sending Song to the moon (granted she ends up with Mr. Blue Eyes) but it seems to be way better than ending up as a tool again for NUSA. End of the day there was empathy between both V and her even with all the half truths and lies. Reed dying is sad but in a way you free the guy from his over zealous duty that was just a prison for him. In the end fuck the system.

Yes, she should've been honest with V from the get-go, but she was in essentially the same shoes as V where survival meant risky decisions and trusting a random merc with that would've a lot to ask especially when everyone in her life from the moment she met Reed at 19 has been a professional, sociopathic liar. Personally, I suspected her cure only being able to be used once, but what am I gonna do...watch a person in distress, in the same terrible position my character is in, get passed around NUSA agents. • @Ereshkigal616
      @Ereshkigal616 9 месяцев назад +39

      Based on all the paths and endings, Songbird is dealing with her mind essentially being erased slowly by the blackwall, and something from beyond filling that void. As to what end, or what purpose, other than chaos...we don't really know.
      Ofc Song is chromed up to the gills for being a netrunning badass, but her issues stem partially from being under the influence of people like Myers and Reed, partially from being so chromed up, but also her interactions with the BlackWall has other effects.
      I don't think we're dealing with Cyberpsychosis so much of a threat as much as "she's slowly being taken over by Rogue AI". As to how effective and her present real status after sending her to the moon, honestly, I don't know. She's alive, and seemingly better than we left her on, but it could be "she's fine now", "the Blackwall/AI has taken her", or something else. There's still alot of missing pieces imo, or that I haven't seen that indicate what's her current stat.
      From the "going with Reed" endings, the NUSA and their attempts at fixing her don't work, other than to preserve her life, and she's now essentially some drone/puppet for the NUSA and Myers to have Blackwall access. Clearly a terrible end.
      As to what her use of the Cynosure and going to moon ended up getting for her, all i can say for certainty was that it was her choice, and she's alive. Past that, idk if anyone really knows.

Or why some have insane amounts of chrome, and are perfectly OK. Or maybe why if you actually read the cyberpysco chips, you would realize that EVERY single last one was going through some rough shit before their attack. Many were also soldiers with PTSD.
      Songbird went crazy due her meddling beyond the Blackwall, and was being corrupted by rouge Ai more and more everytime she tapped into it. Her chrome had nothing to do with it, she got the chrome because the Blackwall was killing her normal body.
      Edit: BTW its also very clearly stated in the game that nobody actually knows what causes Cyberpsycosis

      Why would NUSA help with raiding Arasaka? Seem like starting a fifth corp war, and for what? Just to help expendable merc who outlived his usefulness? Nah, the fact that they even left V alive in the new ending is a miracle. Dude knows too much to be left alive and yet they just let him go on his merry way, free to do with these secrets as he wishes. Very risky move on Myers part.

      You can't tell him no, but you can reject his offer by not calling him. When you go to the point of no return during "Who Wants To Live Forever", Johnny expresses his concerns that he'll die if NUSA removes the Relic, insisting you try another method first. From there, you have the option of calling Reed and taking his offer or going back to do other quests. As long as you don't call Reed there, you can then do the Nocturne mission and have the base game options, with the added option of calling Reed instead and getting the surgery. Most people just don't do that because it's kinda fucked up to give up Songbird and also reject the cure.

    might be in the minority here, but personally i didnt really like any ending. i get its not supposed to have a happy ending for anyone involved, but still, there's quite a few things that left me annoyed:
    1. disappointed that mr. blue eyes was only briefly mentioned and didnt play a bigger role.
    2. felt a bit too call of duty ish at the start with all the plain runnin and gunnin behind covers, but got better as the story progressed.
    3. the fact it wont have a happy ending was "foreshadowed" throughout the entire dlc story (no matter what decision you take anywhere in your missions, it always seemed to go south for someone, like the 2 mercs that help you a bit and then "had been taken care of", basically every character in every side mission, reed, songbird, myers, depending on how you decided everything, V of course, the only one who apparently got what he wanted everywhere was mr. hands, not sure how to feel about that).
    4. if the NUSA has the ability to cure V, then a whole lot of the story is actually kind of pointless. apparently the NUSA also knew that only one of them could be saved, so they could have just told V way earlier and lured him in.
    5. they talk about the blackwall and songbirds breaching of it is so dangerous and all, yet she does it over and over again as well as V in the end, literally spamming black wall attacks at their enemies, yet nothing bad really happens to anyone because of it (not talking about the blackwalled dead soldiers, but more the aftermath), feels like the dlc should have some impact on the main game after completing it, which it kinda doesnt aside from one more depressing ending.
    6. the fact that songbird just leaves V behind is just as sad as the coma ending where everyone else also left him behind (good friends btw, 2 years in a coma and they are all gone and nobody even ATTEMPTS to be there for him? the most frustrating one to me is judy, she cant help him because she is married and lives in pittsburgh? wtf? so your friend you went through with so much shit and just got out of a coma cant like visit you or something for some mental support? fucking judy.)
    I get songbird is most likely the most wanted person in the NUSA but come on, you still cant contact V more? the seemingly best netrunner in the world? think about what kind of gig she pulled of in the DLC, fooling literally everyone, the entire cast of the DLC, but she cant find a work around to stay in contact with the guy that saved her life despite her lies?
    7. the fact that misty knows that V will have it hard to find himself/herself in NC again with all the implants lost, being just a regular person, yet she doesnt invite him to come along with her? V is fucking depressed by the fact that he is useless now in this city and she knows the city is fucked up, that's why she leaves it, but she doesnt want V with her? your dead boyfriends best buddy just woke up from a coma and has lost everything (his aparment in the megabuilding and everything inside it as well, literally everything), but sure he manages, right? no help needed.
    and yes, again, i get it, its not supposed to be a happily ever after, but for me it doesnt feel like "oh man, this really made me think, even if you try your hardest, it doesnt always work out for you", for me it feels more like "wow, the devs really wanted to drive home the feeling of complete unachievability of your goals and dreams with this one, huh?". i mean i enjoyed the DLC after the "intro" with the call of duty ish start, mr. hands was cool, the side missions were decent (though the car stealing thing for el capitan was boring af) but the endings kinda killed it for me.

    The way I see it, songbird was doing the right thing for the wrong reason, and Reed was doing the wrong thing for the right reason. Reed is a good man, he has values that his loyalty to the end, and he did genuinely care about songbird. However, he ultimately wants to enslave songbird to the NUSA, and have her manipulate the black wall. Songbird is completely willing to manipulate and lie to people to achieve the ends that she wants. I sided with songbird, but considered handing her over to Reed after I found out, she betrayed me. I couldn’t do it though because I had killed so many people to get her on that rocket. Plus, I couldn’t send her to back the government

      One of the main problems with factions in the base game is that we barely get any personal interactions with neither. Sure, we have Panam for nomads, Takemura for Arasaka, brief interaction with Meredith for Militech. But none for Tiger Claws, Sixth Street, Maelstrom, Valentinos. We do meet occasional character for each, like Brick but none make us truly invested into their lives not do they make their respective factions seem like anything other than immoral cunts.

    So V basically destroyed his life, fucked himself even more than he/she already is, by getting on the bad side of the NUSA, killed Reed who seemed more like a bro than songbird, just to save someone who was ready to sacrifice dozens of civilians just to save herself, someone who betrayed V and instead of lying about a cure, could have hired V as a merc to help out, someone who guilt tripped V and tried to play the sympathy card?
    And as a thank you she records a video and gives you a bit of loot? Thats just low 💀

    • @MrCreativent
      @MrCreativent 9 месяцев назад +123

      The NUSA is corrupt to the point it's just another corp. Myers is just the other side of the Arasaka/Corpo coin that bleeds every innocent person dry.
      Reed, despite being likeable, is a guy who's blinded himself to how he's trapped the people he cares about in NUSA cages, even causing their deaths (Alex and So Mi). Helping him condemns him to a life of a used tool, who will live with the regret of what he's sacrificed as the only one left standing.
      Songbird just wanted to be free, the people she was told to trust broke and caged her (Myers especially) she has every reason to be so desperate, as only V could relate. She never played the sympathy card, she simply begged for help from the only person who had the power to, despite how she lied to V and manipulated - as Reed and the NUSA taught her to.
      Freeing Songbird helps the AIs take over, which further helps V in the (don't) fear the Reaper. Which is one step towards saving the world from the Corpos across the planet (examples we see at the Black Sapphire).
      Everything in the Cyberpunk world is low. Ultimately the best choice is to pick your poison wisely, because no matter what you do - it's gonna cost.

Songbird creates just as much to save herself. When she told me she betrayed me too it felt more like she's telling you how much she cares about you, V.
