Misty is also a fuckin' angel, just as V says in the beginning. You once again meet her at your lowest point in this ending, and she has some words of wisdom to make things seem better. My man Jackie had good taste.
@@xayvionasherman Nah, if Jackie survived his injuries, the chip probably wouldn't have taken over his body. The reason why it was taking over V's mind is because he died when he got shot by Dexter. The biochip revived him and started overwriting his mind with Johnny's engram.
@@fluffywolfo3663 I think it teased a little bit. Misty moved out there because Vic switched to Zetatech becoming dangerous messages and after an emergency V said that he wanted to go anyway

Or he can easily become a fixer, rogue invites him.
@@maaax5092 I believe you can only message Vik before the FIA pick you up in this ending. So as far as other of V's friends are concerned, they spent two years thinking V's dead because V collapsed in front of them many times. They didn't abandon V as much as they moved on with their life (and their life circumstance changed too), and V couldn't contact them during that time, and V never notified them beforehand. And like real life, some people like Panam can be petty. If you didn't pick up their calls too often, they'll retaliate you thinking you ghosted them.
@@mickeyg7219 you can also message Panam, whoever you romanced i think. And there was a 3rd person, dont remember who. Either way, i know they moved on with their life, im not asking them to drop their lives and go to V, i'm asking them to invite V to their lives, Judy is the only one that cant do that, she is middle-low class, she doesnt have money or resources to support V. Why cant Panam invite V to join aldecados back? What the hell happened to the whole "part of the family" thing? Theres 0 reason why cant V join them and travel with them. Why cant Kerry invite V to join his world tour? Him saying, "ill be back in 2 months, maybe 4" makes me feel like he will never come back from his tour. River is the biggest asspull that i've seen, theres 0 hints in the main game that his story would turn out like this, what the fuck happened to him? Its just the writers couldnt come up with a good reason and decided to fuck up rivers life Rogue and Reed invite V to join their lives. Rogue invites V to join afterlife and Reed invites V to work at Langsley with him. These 2 people owe V LESS than the other 4. Why can these guys invite V into their lives and help him and the guys that literally OWE YOU THEIR LIVES CANT?

Nahhh imagine for 2 whole years you thought a friend died and then he comes back like nothing happened ? Don’t get me wrong this is depressing BUT that’s just how life is , people move on especially after someone’s disappearance (death or other)

@@bengunn9670 Blackhand is still MIA as far as we can tell, but it's theorized that he also died and that his body is being puppetted around by an AI. Both Rouge and Adam are built different, quite literally in Adam's case. They're both ancient compared to everybody else, pretty much considered to be entirely different beings, as Jackie puts it. They both still died in the end.
So, V doesn't deserve any support from his "friends" after a 2-year coma. I can't relate their reaction in this ending with that snivel sorrow when V dies or commits a suicide. Ironically that only Misty and Vik, who never asked V for any help, are happy to see us alive and give a little of support.
It's more like "NC is a horrible crime ridden shithole and your one friend/merc or lover who you knew only knew for maybe a month* at most and dying suddenly disappears without a trace and comes back two years later trying to make up". They all moved on but Panam and River took it the hardest. Which is why she refuses to answer your call and why River is bitter.
You say that like most of them didn't offer V something, Judy basically offered to help V if he was in Pittsburgh, Kerry offered money because that is something he has that he can give you to help, it is not like the others aren't glad you are live but their lives have changed in the last 2 years
Character assassination of the highest order Same family that was ready to go to war with arasaka just so you had a CHANCE at survival all decide PANAM was ready to risk it all just for you, and they do this….
It is their way of living. They HAVE to stay on the road to survive. If you cannot do that, for whatever reason, they have to leave you. Also they had no idea, what is going on.
It could be purposely for the sequel, we know that our V died in the end, so they replaced themselves as Vincent or Valerie for our next story, who knows.
@@shell2791 V wanted to both survive and being a legend, and he got both. V’s stories has come an end as people knew he was dead and became a legend, while he survive the brainkiller chip in exchange of his name.
This ending made me really appreciate Viktor. I wish they had implemented more interaction with him. But on the other hand, it speaks volumes, that despite having less interaction with him than with any other "companion", he still sticks to you. So maybe it was necessary to get this feeling about him. Real great guy. In the end this made me really love Vik!
i imagine that after everyone is left absolutely fuming fucking furious that arasaka lives, v gets turned into an npc and gets beat up by some random cocksuckers on the street he takes like 2 years or so to recover and becomes like morgan blackhand. No chrome or almost no chrome, all guns and skills, destroys everyone.
It's so heartbreaking after romancing Judy, V going into a coma and then coming out to realise her girlfriend has moved on and she's alone is so heartbreaking to play through, especially after getting punched down the stairs, you truly feel hopeless
@falcon_224 fem V has more visceral voice acting, male V is realistic but kinda too stoic and doesn't seem too affected by the messed up stuff happening around him.
I love the fact that Panam was from the very beginning the ride-or-die chick we all loved to be with (aside from the River/Judy stans) but god fucking DAMN does it piss me off seeing her play the victim card as she always does then straight ghosts you and gets mitch to drop the DNC bomb on you despite telling her you've been in a fucking coma! Of all the people you'd expect to be there by your side in a heartbeat in true Nomad fashion, and she goes off to have a grump in the corner. Fuck it. Fear the Reaper it is!
yeah cause the writers couldnt let the players have a happy ending, so they come up with bs reason for everyone to ghost v. Still this endings imo is top 2, maybe top 3 for me. I see nothing wrong in langsley office work
It felt extremely out of character for Panam, you'd expect her to immediately answer when she see's V's name on her phone, and just be really happy that V is alive.
Yea I’m fine with just about everything but panam. She knew V was sick and throughout phantom liberty you tell her you are doing something that could save your life. Then when you finally call her she’s cold and distant. Seems extremely strange for her character.
In my head-canon, Panam is dead, probably cause she was so emotional over losing V that she started acting reckless and got herself killed by Wraiths or something and Mitch's message is his way of not hurting V
Amazing; an ending which makes the ones in which you die more preferable. I get what they were going for here, but the fact that Reed couldn't even pass along a message to any of the buddies/romances telling them that V was in a coma makes it feel very contrived.
It is but also V's Phone is full of fixers, murderers, and random people. How can a stranger sort this out. It was up to V to send a message they were going into an operation and while be out for a while.

I was about to be upset that there was a DLC locked ending where V actually gets to live, but turns out that's an even shittier fate than the rest. Well played CDPR.
That's the best ending unless V survives in "The Star". It pisses me off that people call 'bittersweet" the Sun, which is the most fucked up ending right after the Devil. (unless you attack AT only by yourself).
what you do is unlock this ending and then do "the star". best outcome for V. V keeps their friendships, has months to pursue other leads outside of NC, but has the option of calling in their favor with Reed at anytime with the biochip already taken care of, just the nervous system shit to deal with. Judy and Panam can be kept in the loop on what's going on in person before V takes off and V can be more integrated into their lives before that too. Johnny "lives" and Saka gets fucked either way.
@@Mel0D while it would be plausible at first glance... it's not possible. in The Star, V gets turned into an engram. it's safe to assume that the way alt gets you back in your body is by just swapping johnny's engram for v's in the biochip, since it doesn't seem like soulkiller is really reversible. and since v is now on the biochip, if they went to get surgery from reed, they'd be getting wiped instead... at least in theory.
"Looking for a happy ending in Night City? Wrong town, wrong people" these kinds of endings are common in the cyberpunk genre: the protag often dies, and if they don't they lose more than they started with. It's like Stout says in the beginning of the game: the only winners are the corps

This ending genuinely made me feel ill, like sick to my stomach, it's crushing that V goes through everything, and theres just no chance for a truly happy ending, also why do you have Johnny's arm?
you get his arm by completing the story & letting johnny take your body, you can play the final mission over n over n pick all options so he probably did johnnys ending then did this one after

This ending really shows all these "freinds" and "romances" for who they really are. If you romanced Judy she just tells you not to come after knowingly shattering your world like that. And Panam just ghosting you? River and Kerry? Seems the only people who have even a sliver of care for V are Vic and Misty. Though even Misty is shake cause she really let you stay in night city in the condition you are.
To be fair they had to move on I mean if it was for a month I get sticking around but still it's been 2 years and it honestly makes sense that they just moved on. But it still sucks so I do agree on that point, however, I sort of see this as a character development point for V as after this they truly see what the world and the people is with a mix of perspective from Johnny's side learning to be more calculative and pragmatic while being equally daring in hopes of continuing their sort of legacy. And it all boils into them becoming this sort of Morgan Blackhand character of sorts that you only just hear about through rumors and whispers but it's always tied to huge events that shake the world of Cyberpunk to it's core.
V told them he wasn't going to see them soon, so with him disappearing and no context, they had no choice but to think he ghosted or died. Remember, the world of Cyberpunk is very deadly and V was barely holding on when they met last time, so this could have been like the failed Don't fear the reader ending reaction. Also, remember the story couldn't have taken more than a few moths at best. I think this ending was the game critiquing you for going the comfortable way, killing Johnny and taking the easy way out, kinda like the devil ending.
Panam is probably dead or out of the coverage area since I doubt she stays in night city without V there. River is still the worst romance and this just reinforced that 😂
@@jackwellington9863 No. This ending just shows that no one really cares about V unless V is fixing their problems. My V would drop everything to at least try to help them if they popped up. This has nothing to do with moving on and everything to do with helping a friend clearly in need.
To me this is probably the most realistic ending. Using the neural matrix sounded like a safer choice but ended up backfiring, and everything's gone to shit like they usually would. Getting back to NC but seeing it almost in a martial law state, while Doc Vik ending up signing a contract with Zetatech just tells you how depressing and hopeless the cyberpunk world is.
The real shit is that NC is in martial law because Arasaka is pulling back, but just that. Yorinobu had his plan work, but it stll did nothing. He was ousted as CEO before he could destroy Arasaka and the Corpo domination of society. No one can change a thing, not even if you are at the absolute top.
This final is awesome BESIDES the Judy/Panam part. Panam is even worse. The game do not allow you to tell them clearly about the surgery that will happen, and Panam reaction after knowing about your coma for me do not fit her behaviour.
I always love Vik, he's that one character that reminds me of all of my IRL friends that I can call and just chat with, like we never stopped talking.. Also meeting Misty at the end was really nice too, they're the true real ones in Night City.
Everything V had is gone - their reputation, their home, their guns, their souvenirs, most people they knew either forgot about him or don't care that much about them, they can't become a mercenary again and best they can do is to live a normal boring generic life until somebody either shoots them on the street unless they move out from NC. This is truly the worst fucking ending you can have. With V dying half a year after Mikoshi, they at least will be remembered by thousands if not millions as the man/woman who single handedly went into the Arasaka Tower, faced dozens of best of the best Arasaka had to offer, killed Adam Smasher without breaking a sweat, destroyed Arasaka's secret project that nobody, not even biggest corporations could even get close to, ruined their reputation for years if not permanently and most importanly - they will be remembered as the best Edgerunner to ever exist. Don't Fear the Reaper people...
Atleast you acknowledge that V can be either male or female sick of these people calling V her instead of just V don't get me wrong female V is great and Cherami Leigh is so damn good but everyone forgets the Male V and Gavin Drea is also really damn good
Their reputation isn't gone and he isn't forgotten. Rogue says that V is still known in the afterlife after 2 years. V can still become a fixer. He has the money and connections. A fixer life is still exciting. Rogue does say that V returning could make his legend disappear. But V could just lie and say that he willingly retired from the merc life and just wants to become a fixer instead. His legendary status remains and he stays safe. With training V can get the fitness of a regular human and recover from the coma. He would be able to fend off the average thug trying to rob him.
Honestly V called Kerry at the worst possible moment. He's clearly overwhelmed by the situation and shouts at everyone to keep the conversation going as long as possible. Judy too is pretty supporting (if you aren't a dong about it like video poster). Besides she lives on the other coast now and has a family. Can't just jump on a train for a cross country trip you know.
Plus, she watched people she care for die or be monsters in front of her. Like imagine watching someone you care for and try so hard, to kill themselves in front of you.
i know this is a late reply but i kinda love the interaction you get when you romanced Judy. i got the impression from her "dont do this to me" line that she understood the disappearance wasnt in V's control and still has strong feelings for them which is why reconnecting would compromise her new life. it was like circumstance screwed over this happy couple and they just had to maturely understand and accept that despite it being difficult.

Tbf, Judy response to Male V is a lot nicer if you don’t choose the aggressive dialogue. Panam wasn’t even her response, she just got over your 2 years disappearance and judging by how emotional she is, Mitch decided to intervene to stop you from making Panam going ape shit again, which i can understand. @@secondaryfront Heh, you get the first feeling of that when she wants you to help her kill Rouge Wraith contact. Next time i will just say "fuck you" after we get the car.
The worst part of this ending by far, unfortunately. The fact that we weren't allowed to text or phone Panam (or whoever you romanced) and basically go "Hey, I'm heading off to an undisclosed location for experimental treatment. I wish I could tell you more, but I might be gone a while. Please don't forget me." This is a glaring omission and surprisingly bad writing for a story of this caliber. The way it's written now, it makes certain characters' reactions way too strong. We're also talking about 2 fucking years. Not 5. Not 10. *Two years.* A lot can change, but it's also not an unfathomable, unrecoverable amount of time. Think about the difference between October 2021 and October 2023. It's a long time. But not THAT long. For someone in V's predicament, yeah, I just don't buy that most of their friends would abandon or be mad at them for something that was outside of their fucking control (a medically-induced coma). That aside, I think this ending is wonderfully bittersweet, and the conversation you have with Johnny in the airlift on the way to surgery is one of the most touching and heart-breaking scenes in the entire game. So I'm still happy we got it. Just wish some of the misery & bitterness wasn't so forced and rushed.
i mean you gotta keep in mind, the main story occurs over a time period of a couple of months, maybe? V has only known these people like panam or judy for honestly a pretty short period of time, a few weeks/maybe a few months at most. If someone you've been dating for only a few weeks/months just up and ghosts you without saying a word, yeah after two years which is a decent amount of time, you're gonna have moved on.
@@Sharpie_17 That's true, but I think we also have to keep in mind that the relationships & bonds V forms over the course of this time aren't your typical, casual dating. Knowing all we go through with Panam and the Nomads, and knowing Panam as a character (and how she reacts to V's disappearance in the Temperance/Johnny body ending). It just doesn't line up and feels forced to me. The other characters? Sure, yeah. I can buy it.
I'm so confused because I haven't played PL yet, but is there a reason none of them knew you were going to have this surgery? I think it's pretty stupid V can't let them know the situation.
@@hogue_music V does get a chance to message them about it, but their messages are so vague that it feels forced that way so that we can have a (just as forced) bitter outcome. Reed does tell you to not tell anyone any specifics because it's government shit, but a simple "Hi Panam, I'm sorry i can't tell you more, but I'm heading into experimental surgery, and I might be gone for a long while. Please contact so and so if you don't hear from me for a few months." would have sufficed. That's really the part that bothers me. It's a contrived way of arriving at the destination that is *this ending.*

What is a really cool detail about this ending, is that in the animation where V leans over the balcony/looks at himself in the mirror, despite the biochip being gone, you can still see visual glitches of johny's left hand/arm (may be related to the "downsides" V mentioned). Seems like no matter how hard he tries to get rid of the biochip/johny's engram, there's always that one tiny fraction intertwined with V himself.
This ending feels really odd. V can text Vic and and his/her romantic partner before leaving, they know V has found a way to save himself/herself The aldecaldos are completely out of character, especially Panam Judy, Kerry, River, Misty, Vic I find believeable how they changed, yet it's obvious they went as hard as possible to make V misrable through them. And V could really just take the FIA job and leave that godforsaken city.
The aldecaldos at one point literally call V an honorary member, and extend them an offer to join whenever. It really pisses me off that like we save Sauls life, when we didn't have to. Saved the camp when we didn't have to, and helped Mitch give Scorpion a proper send off, and they don't at minimum say they're happy to see us? All V had to do was one job with Panam, and they could've dropped the entire Nomad questline. Instead, V went out of their way with no pay mind you to use their insane skills, and final moments to actually help people. What are they repaid with? A bunch of shity messages, and Mitch telling someone who is literally family to never call again, despite V risking their ass MULTIPLE times to save them despite dying themselves. If I was my V, I'd take the job offered to me at the FIA, and pull some strings to get an escort to the aldecados current camp to give those fuckers a piece of my mind. Hell V has the connections to become their own damn Fixer in NC, and if kept on the down low won't be touched with a ten foot pole considering the reputation he has. We're also not going to talk about the fact that he could still Net Run, because those shards aren't implants, they're just hardware. My V technically is still the greatest Net Runner since Alt-Cunningham. The ending doesn't make any sense for people (me) who did a pure netrun build, and basically ignored cybernetic implants for better programs, hardware, armor, and guns.
@@notleviathan855nah, netrunner V is actually one of the builds that are invalidated, cause to be anywhere near effective, he'd need a military grade cyberdeck. A shitton of skills don't require any cyberware, although after 2 years of coma, he'd probably have to spend quite some time and effort getting his ganics back to his peak. Basically any build, that doesn't rely on implants to work is still valid tho, even if they will be a glass cannon. A blade build is still deadly af with knives and blades, just less resilient. A stealth build just has to make do without optical camo and other crutches. A body build can still tank like crazy and shoot heavy weapons and punch like crazy.
What do you even know about Aldecaldos? You knew them for a month tops. With that kind of background, 2 years is enough to forget why you were even close at some point
Judy breaking her end of the news is so bittersweet, she has found that piece of happiness both V and her talk about without V and it feels so depressing to return to NC with that knowledge
It depends on how you see things, V in the story if a victim of fate, and in a way this is a way for them to break the chains of fate, they lost the ability to be a merc but maybe that is for the better, their old life is gone so they can really move on from all of it, they have a chance to rebuild their life from scratch, maybe everyone he knew moved on with their lives in those 2 years, but you can tell that a lot of them still care for V but they have their own lives, and V hasn't been a part of it for 2 years. I am sure that if V went to Pittsburgh Judy would help them to settle there if they wanted that, I am sure that after Kerry's tour he would be willing to give V a job in the band, River is just neck deep in shit and doesn't want you to get involved in it because he cares, Panam held out hope for over a year that V would return and her text messages show it ate at her that she could never know if you were dead or had just ghosted somewhere else and cut everyone off. The world doesn't revolve around V and their needs, and simply put everyone else had their own lives to handle, I am sure that if V makes an effort to re-integrate himself into the lives of his friends he would be welcomed back but you can't expect them to move for you when they have their own lives and problems to handle
This ending created me a new fear, the fear to loose everything while I can't do anything to stop it. I never cared about that, but now it's frightening me
This makes the Nomad ending doubly better, since V could cash in the favor after getting out with the aldecaldos and live a nice happy life Edit: V can call up the NUSA and get treatment for her condition after the game ends, Misty's reading basically confirms that V lives in the aldecaldo ending and maybe the temperance ending
It is a sad ending yes. But I feel V messed up on this. If he knew that something could go wrong with this operation, then he should have told someone about what's going on in case he dies or be in a coma. Like where to find him or at least say he is getting surgery for the chip and won't know what will happen. He was very vague to people he's close to so this what happens.
Yes exactly. He should have called Panam before going for surgery, instead of a simple text. Tell her whats happening and where he is and how to get in touch with Reed. She wouldn't have ghosted V.
@@AdilDIlyas Well the thing is that them having to extract the parts of his brain that got fucked was not in the plans for the surgery, and V pretty much was knocked out in the AV and woke up two years later
The biggest thing is that them having to do so much to fix him up was beyond expectations and most likely something that had to be done in the OR as they were in surgery to save V
@@ryanbaker5296 Why writers? V actually says to his friends that he might be out for a month. He couldn't predict that there will some complications. So V's friends after not seeing any responses from V assumed that he actually didn't survive the surgery. So they moved on with their lives at some point because they cannot grief forever and they have to live. Judy found someone but at least she picked up the call. Panam because of her character assumed the worst that V after surgery basically went to live his life and forget about her and while I get she might be angry it doesn't justify her not picking up the phone and actually talk even if it meant to just end things between V and her. River fucked up his life even more then before which is a trait for this character.
@@lucask4377 if I had a friend and thought he was dead just to find out he was alive I’d be mad yes but I’d go get my buddy… maybe you shouldn’t have friends since you’d just forsake them
0:30 One thing I hate the most about V is his indirect, rarely honest straight to the point way of talking. He rarely tells people the full truth of what goes on, and never really explain details. Like when dexter thought we killed arasaka, V never told him what really happened and just let Dexter assume we really killed him.
@@putinyoutosleep6184 Thats the thing, how would we known that? Dexter was freaking cause he believed something, and V not just saying what happened, and instead V just getting angry and deflecting, made dexter believe his viewpoint was true and caused him to think of the betrayal. I truly think that if V told dexter how it actually went down, I feel like dexter would possibly calm down and think more clearly
@@putinyoutosleep6184 Thats the thing, as soon as dexter accused him, V had alot of time to actually say what really happened. He kinda went with it and let Dexter assume the absolute worse. The second he said " I didnt tell you to off the emperor", I would had said I did, It was his son and then tell the story. I know adrenaline is high but I rather set the record straight asap 😵💫😵💫
Realistically, only way this, ending can be good is if you don’t create emotional connections with the people you meet along the way as heartless as it may seem, you won’t feel abandoned if there’s no one to abandon you Also: interested in hearing other peoples opinions on that
Well for V he has only known these people for a few weeks. A month at most. V should really be attached to Vic and Misty. But they don't completely abandon V. V barely knows River. V saved his family and they had dinner together. Not much other than that. V would feel betrayed by River not wanting anything to do with V though I guess. Judy doesn't abandon V. She just moved on. If anything she moves on in the main game as well. If you are friends with her she moves out of night city and sends you text messages of her vising her grand parents. Is that her abandoning you? No it isn't. She is just living her life. She even says that if you are ever in around they can meet each other. Kerry still wants to talk with V so he hasn't abandoned you. For Panam like I said before V would realistically have only known her for a couple of weeks. Like sure it would suck that all of the people you know have moved on. But if I was V I would just be happy that I am alive. I would work with the NUSA or I would become a fixer. I would go and visit Kerry and Judy since they still are on okay terms with me. Also it is not impossible for V to try to mend relations with Panam and River. Though it would be unlikely. V would have the money and connections to help River. V also probably has the money to find out where the Aldecaldos are. Saul did say that V would always be welcome with he Aldecaldos. But I don't see Panam forgiving V.
@@drlukas4242 And what about Jackies mother? Jackie and V were best chooms and you can't even call her before the surgery nor after. That's one big missed oportunity!
Idk I think that the abandonment isn't that bad and people overblow how "depressing" this ending is V basically gets a fresh start at life, what's there to be sad about? a few lost friends is nothing when compared to your entire life
nah for me it was sad because v won't have a chance to live like before the surgery anymore, it felt like she became disabled and it was the most heartbreaking thing in this ending
Imagine after this Ending in the Sequel V really becomes a Fixer. Cold hearted and Pragmatic Fixer. Instead of Cyberware He / She relies on weapons and their body. This Ending doesnt mean it has to be permanent. This ending has a lot of room.
For me this ending hit really hard, I never really realized what I had in life because I was living through it. Things do change but gradually and they may not always be the best but like Johnny said “Sometimes you gotta let go”
for me this would be the canon ending always, dont care bout no blackwall, my good times with johnny, judy etc. alot of people who played this game purposely forget that we are playing as V rather than themselves. and that the only reason V even accepted songbird request was for her to stay alive. V wants to stay alive and i made sure she did. all the noise of humanity, corpos blah blah is just noise. The story was about V, she lives on, even if she is a face in the crowd, she lives. that's probably the best you can get in a fucked up place like night city and the cyberpunk world.
Panam..not geting back to you.. Just nothing, really twists my stomach. Like, you did a lot for her.. compared to a lot of these other guys.. You did so much for her clan and everything. And yeah she waited well over a year. Just man. Shit turns my stomach inside out. Makes me feel awful, made me just wanna quit and do another ending.. Because not having her felt the worst when compared to anything.
Unless its something im missing it says shes out of cell range, meaning she didnt get the message. admittedly ik nothing past this scene but if this is it then you cant be mad at her if she still doesnt know
To be honest it is very hard to ask for people to drop everything and meet V after 2 years. That is very normal, and takes time for them to build the bridge again. We always have to remember, its not just you that lost a friend, they also lost a friend.
You don't need to pick this ending in fact playing through the other ending of Phantom Lib I told the President Don't ever Contact me Again (It was either that or see this Ending again). I weather have 6 months with Panam & Judy then this shit Ending.
@@discoinferno103hey guys I’m going to get a really difficult surgery but it’s going to be done by the top professionals in the world and I might die but hold onto hop that I’m coming back
The ghost of a living legend. You are still alive, the people around you yet live, but the person that you were is gone with a gust of wind that was laced with gunpowder-like a musician that can no longer hear their tune, or a singer that has gone mute. You are still alive, but those closest to you are distant-some of whom forever out of reach, and even those that remained are changed by this damned city. You are still alive, but the dreams and hopes and memories of those that fought at your side are gone. Lost with the person that you once were and not possible to be maintained by who you are now. . . . Are you truly still alive?
Ik I’m in the minority but I still think this is a good ending for V. Like, sure people move on and stuff but that’s just how it goes in real life too. By the time you’re in your late 20s…many friends you knew from school have moved across the country, gotten married & have kids now, or simply lost touch so you don’t see them anymore. Not many interactions apart from a hb message once a year. Or if you’re both in the same city, you can grab a beer together. Sounds sad but that’s life.
I still think, in spite of how poorly treated and down on his luck V is in this ending, that this is probably the best outcome for him. Harkens me to that gta quote: “Surviving is winning. Everything else is bullshit”-Michael De Santa
My god, what a sh!t ending! The people that turned their backs on him was wrong. I mean you formed these relationships by helping them and this is the way they treat you? Wow. Dude was in a coma, you'd think after hearing that they will put their anger aside... guess not. So yeah, looks like the Nomad ending is the best. At least with that one there's this sense of hope that V found a way to get himself cured. I like to think that with all of the connections he made, they all put their heads together to find a way to get him help.
I like how only you and 28 other ppl think it was a shit ending😂 Johnny himself sed it. “ you expect happy endings. For ppl like us? Wrong ppl. Wrong city.” This game was nvr meant to have a happy ending and I’m absolutely in love with that. Not everything in life is a fairytale lmao.
I don't think that they turned their backs on V, but rather they can't drop everything in their lives for V, V isn't the center of their world and you have to understand that it has been two years since they last heard anything about V, they are all glad you are alive but you can't just slot in like nothing ever happened, because a lot happened in the time you were gone. Judy offers to help V if they are in Pittsburgh, Kerry offers you Eddies so you can look out for yourself because that all he can offer at the moment, River keeps you from getting caught up in his problems, Panam likely was the one that held hope the longest (from the text messages it was over a year she kept trying to contact V), Reed offers you a job at the FIA so you aren't just abandoned and unable to look after yourself, Viktor offers to try and see if something can be done, Misty encourages you to look to the future like she is. I don't think everyone is angry at V, but rather glad to see you are alive, everyone handled it differently, Panam likely still hasn't fully recovered from you disappearing, Judy was mad before but realised that if you could have you would have contacted her, Kerry was busy with his career but is glad to see you are alive and wants to help you land on your feet with the thing he has in excess which are Eddies he might not have time but he has money and can help you while you figure things out.
@@TaintedxPurist I like how you couldn't reply without being rude as hell. But honestly, it's more like 'you and 28 other ppl think it was a good ending.' Most people think this was a bad ending. It's just rough when the 'good' ending is still depressing. All in all after watching his a few more times I do get the silver lining. V can now have a new start and that's pretty cool.
This makes me get The Sun ending only, without Panam or Judy romance, imagine doing all their quests and get this, because after everything you've done they say "fuck you".
Puts all those "friends" in a really bad light to see that none, absolutely none thought "wow, V might be in danger, let's try to find her/him". Of course NUSA docs not calling the most-called numbers on V's phone is just terrible either.
I like to think that maybe one day Panam would see his message, if she's somehow still alive, and end up messaging him. I mean a coma for two years is a pretty good reason to not have been answering
@@CatLover-gk8uu seems out of character from her. let’s say PL is canon, put some logic to it, panam set the record straight she is a ride or die chick, if she finds out you’re in a coma she will look for a cure. there isn’t a right or wrong answer as to what happen, but i’m leaning towards she got killed in the pursuit trying to find you
Thank you for doing this man. Can't bring myself to choose this ending knowing that I'd lose everything. Already a depressed guy playing a dystopian game with depressing endings.
naaaah. Fading away from that killer-mercenary life and Night City is actually a good thing. A fresh start for V and most importantly freedom and all the strings cut off. The only ending that gives V the opportunity for a happy and long life. To me it's the best one out there
They still sprinkle bits of hope in here. V COULD get implants if they were custom made. Viktor is STILL willing to try everything for you, so much up to interpretation. It pains me and facinates me that there is no definitive good end for V
There is no happy endings in night city, although old friends like Vik had V covered.. glad the last person we spoke to was misty.. really needed that,
it's hard to fault these characters for being unwilling to drop everything and help V (with what, even?) after knowing him for a month and then having him disappear for two years. judy already said her farewell if you complete her questline, she literally says she's getting out of NC and moving on with her life, and good for her. she got what sounds like some stability and happiness. kerry's literally drunk and in the middle of shit when he takes a call and gets dropped the bomb "ayy i was in a coma for two years lmao" so really, i can only fault the guy for not saying "dude this is some heavy shit, let me call you back when i can address the situation with the attention it deserves," which is more maturity than i could expect from him anyway. river's failures are institutional failures. in a civilized country that doesn't bankrupt its citizens for needing medical and mental health care, he wouldn't have needed to sell out and do whatever terrible shit he must have done just to pay for randy's treatment. he doesn't even mention if he got any treatment himself and you know this mf has some serious PTSD. honestly with the hand river was dealt in this story, with his nephew being kidnapped and his best and only friend for a month or two going AWOL for two years straight, i'm just proud of him for not offing himself. panam? nah. this girl was bad news from the start. i've dated girls like her, with hot tempers and an entitlement to your time with no regard to the shit you must be going through. it's pretty telling that throughout her questline, V never feels like he can explain his situation to her until he collapses and coughs up blood. honestly, i'm going to give her a benefit of the doubt here that she's pissed off and assumes V ghosted her simply because she can't handle the very reasonable idea that he might just be dead. perhaps she thought that V died and she wound up dead herself, hence the way mitch talks about it. vik and misty are great, at least. vik even offers to help before v can even ask, and even though it doesn't work out, vik showed himself to be pretty thoughtful. it's clear that he's the most mature of V's friends, and he lives for all of the little things that matter most. dude just wants a friend and a beer. doesn't ask for much, doesn't expect much, but offers everything he's got. a fucking saint, truly. it seems like judy, vik and misty would all be happy to see V for non merc-related, normal friend shit, so really this is a better ending than V could really expect. it's not the ambitious, out with a bang type of ending V may have wanted at the start, but it's the sort of ending his friends would be happy to ride out with him. it's a shame that you end up losing johnny in this ending, but depending on your affinity at least he understands and accepts your decision. i think, by the end of it, he understands that he was never gonna be there for a long time, just a good time, and his time is up. it's hard to picture things going any other way if V decides he'd rather die old.
So The nomad ending is still the best because you live remember Misty's never been wrong so far with us (even Jackie if you think about it) and this ending is guaranteed life for the doubters in the back but guess what? You can't defend yourself and you have gigantic targets on your back from basically every gang in NC even some Russian military affiliates so you're kind of screwed.
The fact that you've still got Kerry and Viktor hits hard. Maybe at the least, you could get Kerry to give you some kind of job working for him. A high technical ability V could "recalibrate holoprojectors" like he said he was going to for Us Cracks or something. If nothing else, give him a job in marketing or something. As busy as he may be, he legitimately does care. And Vik? Vik is still himself. Couldn't ask for a better friend or doctor.
not sure why people think this ending is depressing, its bittersweet. like Johnny said, sometimes we just have to give up and let go.... its part of life.
Bittersweet? Motherfucker everyone V made friends with or romanced doesn't care about them. Panam ghosted him, River and Kerry couldn't care less, the only ones who seem to care are Vik and Misty. This is depressing everyone V ever cared for even a little over the course of the game fuckin abandons him
THANK YOU. This ending is literally the only thing that makes sense. This is what V has been fighting for since Konpeki Plaza. Survival. Besides as for Panam and Judy who knows what could happen down the line now that V is alive. Better that than him dead. Sounds pretty shitty regardless but the possibility is still there.
This ending reminds me of something I had through: Loss of something important through a painful change. So I think it's a best ending, just because it's all ended. For real. Finally.

This ending really shows that the only two people who really cared were Misty and Vik. You did so much for everyone else, and they just kick you to the curb. Inexcusable, for people who hated Night City as much if not more than you did, they sure did take the city's lessons to their cold, closed hearts.
so panam never thought "hey theres no way this guy would ever do something like this to me we need to search for him and turn over every stone in night city until we do" Kerry would have the funds River is a "private eye" and Vick and Misty were the only leads they had! Judy moving on with her life after everything she went through is perfectly fine but theres no way none of these guys should have just given up after you clearly stated you'd be having life changing surgery and then ghosting

Seems extremely strange for her character.
given both v and panam line of work. 2 years is a long long time to be silent, someone has to let go. All i see is panam is bad at goodbyes. Big L.

Panam is most likely dead. Hence why they lash out at you in the end credits.
@@cendresaphoenix1974 says who? theres just 0 to go off on.. I blame the crappy writing.
V can text Vic and and his/her romantic partner before leaving, they know V has found a way to save himself/herself
The aldecaldos are completely out of character, especially Panam
Judy, Kerry, River, Misty, Vic I find believeable how they changed, yet it's obvious they went as hard as possible to make V misrable through them.
And V could really just take the FIA job and leave that godforsaken city.
Yeah its shame they dont let to choose
It's called bad writing.
As someone who hasn't spoken to his "friends" 5 years after graduation,i can relate to V

Judy breaking her end of the news is so bittersweet, she has found that piece of happiness both V and her talk about without V and it feels so depressing to return to NC with that knowledge
Wow, it’s like accepting death is the better choice than what we get here for saving our lives.
Not to mention misty pretty much invited V to ho with her and help each other build a new life

@@prettieboiswag6659They hinted that, V lived longer.
@@YourBuddyTom01They hinted that V lived longer than that.
Why blame V blame the writers for writing something so stupid like any normal person would tell the people they love what they are about to do
@@ryanbaker5296 Why writers?

Realistically, only way this, ending can be good is if you don’t create emotional connections with the people you meet along the way as heartless as it may seem, you won’t feel abandoned if there’s no one to abandon you
Also: interested in hearing other peoples opinions on that
Well for V he has only known these people for a few weeks.

V basically gets a fresh start at life, what's there to be sad about? a few lost friends is nothing when compared to your entire life
nah for me it was sad because v won't have a chance to live like before the surgery anymore, it felt like she became disabled and it was the most heartbreaking thing in this ending

I don't think everyone is angry at V, but rather glad to see you are alive, everyone handled it differently, Panam likely still hasn't fully recovered from you disappearing, Judy was mad before but realised that if you could have you would have contacted her, Kerry was busy with his career but is glad to see you are alive and wants to help you land on your feet with the thing he has in excess which are Eddies he might not have time but he has money and can help you while you figure things out.

naaaah. Fading away from that killer-mercenary life and Night City is actually a good thing. A fresh start for V and most importantly freedom and all the strings cut off. The only ending that gives V the opportunity for a happy and long life. To me it's the best one out there
This ending proves that V can live. This means that the other endings also mean V can live.
They still sprinkle bits of hope in here. V COULD get implants if they were custom made. Viktor is STILL willing to try everything for you, so much up to interpretation. It pains me and facinates me that there is no definitive good end for V
There is no happy endings in night city, although old friends like Vik had V covered.. glad the last person we spoke to was misty.. really needed that,
I love that the ending of this game DLC is like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood minus the friends.
it's hard to fault these characters for being unwilling to drop everything and help V (with what, even?) after knowing him for a month and then having him disappear for two years.
judy already said her farewell if you complete her questline, she literally says she's getting out of NC and moving on with her life, and good for her. she got what sounds like some stability and happiness.
kerry's literally drunk and in the middle of shit when he takes a call and gets dropped the bomb "ayy i was in a coma for two years lmao" so really, i can only fault the guy for not saying "dude this is some heavy shit, let me call you back when i can address the situation with the attention it deserves," which is more maturity than i could expect from him anyway.
river's failures are institutional failures. in a civilized country that doesn't bankrupt its citizens for needing medical and mental health care, he wouldn't have needed to sell out and do whatever terrible shit he must have done just to pay for randy's treatment. he doesn't even mention if he got any treatment himself and you know this mf has some serious PTSD. honestly with the hand river was dealt in this story, with his nephew being kidnapped and his best and only friend for a month or two going AWOL for two years straight, i'm just proud of him for not offing himself.
panam? nah. this girl was bad news from the start. i've dated girls like her, with hot tempers and an entitlement to your time with no regard to the shit you must be going through. it's pretty telling that throughout her questline, V never feels like he can explain his situation to her until he collapses and coughs up blood. honestly, i'm going to give her a benefit of the doubt here that she's pissed off and assumes V ghosted her simply because she can't handle the very reasonable idea that he might just be dead. perhaps she thought that V died and she wound up dead herself, hence the way mitch talks about it.
vik and misty are great, at least. vik even offers to help before v can even ask, and even though it doesn't work out, vik showed himself to be pretty thoughtful. it's clear that he's the most mature of V's friends, and he lives for all of the little things that matter most. dude just wants a friend and a beer. doesn't ask for much, doesn't expect much, but offers everything he's got. a fucking saint, truly.
it seems like judy, vik and misty would all be happy to see V for non merc-related, normal friend shit, so really this is a better ending than V could really expect. it's not the ambitious, out with a bang type of ending V may have wanted at the start, but it's the sort of ending his friends would be happy to ride out with him.
it's a shame that you end up losing johnny in this ending, but depending on your affinity at least he understands and accepts your decision. i think, by the end of it, he understands that he was never gonna be there for a long time, just a good time, and his time is up. it's hard to picture things going any other way if V decides he'd rather die old.

Judy moving on with her life after everything she went through is perfectly fine but theres no way none of these guys should have just given up after you clearly stated you'd be having life changing surgery and then ghosting
I know, the entire thing stinks of CDPR making a way you can live then rembering that there are supposedly no happy endings in Night City, which is BS they are rare but they do happen
@@MasterLittica v waking up to all of his friends hearing about all the fucked up stuff that happened in his absence and not being able to do anything about it because he's been rendered a normal person would have been just fine
