As a Bayern fan, one thing I think is an interesting little tidbit- when Carlo Ancelotti was at Bayern, one of the criticisms he received and one of the reasons he (allegedly) was let go was that his training sessions were too casual and relaxed. Bayern was coming off Pep Guardiola for 3 seasons. Several players like Robben and Ribery allegedly complained training was too easy, and they complained of things like Ancelotti stopping training or disappearing for cigarette breaks. Just interesting to me, wouldn’t be the first time an Ancelotti team has had poor training habits.

Ancelotti is so funny, the last time Barcelona beat them 4-0, Real Madrid was leading with 6-8 points, Barcelona was a struggling side and Xavi had just taken over. This time, Barcelona is top of the league, doing well in the UCL and they just beat Bayern. Ancelotti had not faced a team that could run the entire 90 minutes without taking a breath. Barcelona was all over them and they punched them when it mattered most. Barcelona scored 2 goals came in 2 minutes, Lewandowski missed 2 sitters in 2 minutes , Lamine yamal killed their dream of any comeback and Raphina just made them look stupid at the back. This Barcelona side are title contenders for every available trophy. What is even scary is Frenkie is not fully fit, Olmo is also not fit, Christensen and Araujo are still injured and they are using academy graduates. Imagine if they all come back from injury and the players who are coming back from injury become fully fit. Scary, Scary Scary😅

The reason Militao was caught upfield was tactical as it was a response from Ancelotti to not allow Olmo space to create. Problem is that’s exactly what Flick wanted and it’s why when people say Ancelotti relies on individual talent to win they’re not wrong.
If Madrid played in the EPL they would be fighting for top 4. Without sound tactics a well organized and innovative manager (who also has money and talent and get a home and away fixture) would expose Carlo.

Ya'll modern day football fans have got so used to the strict, almost authoritarian archetype of a manager in the mold of a Pep or Klopp, to the extent that you look down upon on the classic type of a coach which Ancellotti is. This man has won far too much to warrant this much disrespect. Your favorite coaches have been whooped by Ancellotti teams, more than Ancellotti has lost. He adapts to what he has, not coming in with a set of beliefs he wants everyone to conform to. Its a different process but it has brought results. Put some respect on it. If Fergie could make it in PL, Ancellotti would, in fact, did ya'll forget about Ancellotti's Chelsea? Madrid is a team still recovering from losing the greatest passer of the ball since Xavi. It was never going to be a quick fix.

    • @barstar888
      @barstar888 21 день назад +4

@ you’re misunderstanding my point. Ancelotti is a great manager and one that’s actually good for Real Madrid and their fluid desire in attack but we can see clearly that if he comes up against a good manager with the same budget he’s not dominating them over and over. Real play City and it’s not one sided, Real play Chelsea and it’s not one sided, Real play Liverpool and it’s not one sided, Real play Barca and it’s not one sided, Real play Atleti and it’s not one sided but you put him up against teams in league or Europe without quality and Madrid are undefeated. That’s why I said if he was in the premier league it wouldn’t be automatic top 2 like he’s done in Spain going back and forth with Barca and Atleti as many English clubs have money, talent and can outwork them especially in the mbappe era where neither he or Vini care to press or track back an entire 90’

It’s clear that the team overall had to adapt with the loss of Kroos and also the injuries this season. I think for the midfield they lack a controller too much box to box players. And for defense they def need a right back to cover for Dani.

  • @ivanrado3430
    @ivanrado3430 22 дня назад +54

Real Madrid problem this season is first in the midfield. Not the defence. Defence is secondary.
Kroos retiring is the biggest problem that Madrid will be facing now. Few reasons there. There is no one to properly drop between the centre backs and distribute the ball safely. You can see this seasons how much Militao (who really is not a good passer) is passing more, and Rudiger is trying to hit on the left wing with long balls. Kroos missing took safety from Madrid when Madrid had possession and overall safety and calmness in midfield.
Let's make an argument here to discuss it further. Tchuameni is a defensive midfielder, and he isn't a good playmaker.
Valverde and Camavinga are literal engines that can run so much. Great on the ball, and can do a lot. Still, they are not as safe as Kroos.
Modrić is more progressive and attacking minded player, who can do that job, but he is old.
Bellingham, as Madrid fan, wants to see him playing more as attacking midfielder than a deep lying playmaker.
Arda Guler, even if he is a young and amazing player, Ancelottin does not play many young players. Which is bad for Madrid.
So we can conclude that Kroos leaving is the worst thing that could happen to Madrid.
Next is the attack. The attacking trio wants to play on the left. Mbappe, Vini, and Rodrygo are left wingers primarily. And we could see this season how much they overload on the left. Which is disgusting to watch. Not to mention how much shooting quality dropped. You could see this season how much they shot literally directly in the keeper or around him. No corners or risk-taking shoots.
Defence is and was a problem for years. But due to the Kroos impact, the work rate of the midfielders, it wasn't that much shown. Now we can see how shit it is.
    Alaba injury is unfortunate.
Militao literally can be the best and the worst at the same time.
Mendy sometimes looks like he is fantasising about, spaces out and fucks up. Also, not that great in the attack.
Lord Vasquez can have amazing games and have amazing impacts. And then like he flips and fucks up everything. And he is primarily right midfielder not a right back. Which means only one true right back.
Fran Garcia, unfortunately, same as Arda Guler, don't have enough minutes.
Carvajal unfortunately took the biggest hit with injury, and Madrid lost good presence in defence, attack, and leadership.
Rudiger is probably safest person in defence... even tho he is crazy.
Madrid have unbalanced team. Mbappe arriving brought unbalanced in the attack. Kroos leaving brought unbalance in the midfield and defence.
What Madrid should have done was buying Haaland and Gvardiol, good left back that is progressive in the attack, something similar to Marcelo or Roberto Carlos (yes, standards are high) and young backup for Carvajal.
With that fix, midfield would be safer, Mbappe wouldn't be the one in the attack, but a viking who isn't running on the wing every few minutes...
Can Madrid do better now? Probably. But there needs to be sacrifices. 4-4-2 with diamond in the midfield would be great. Valverde on the right back, and Tchuameni, Camavinga, Guler, Bellingham in the midfield. With Vini and Mbappe/Endrick in the attack.
Maybe 4-3-3, but again, Guler is in the right wing. Center Endrick or Mbappe wini on the left.
However you look, Valverde needs to drop to the right back, unfortunately, and Guler is the one balancing the team. Ancelotti will probably never do that and give Guler and Endrick a proper chance to show what they can do.

@frankkkbard0n315 If you read it with a bit more concentration, you will see I wrote "should have done," which is past tense. Basic point I was trying to make that Madrid as much as they had good transfer markets bringing in players. They also missed the world class players that would bring to the team more.
Perez obsession with Mbappe hurt Madrid this year, and probably in the coming seasons, if they do not bring more defensive options of the level they can do.
If I was the one playing in any of the football manager sites, first move will be definitely selling Mbappe, trying to find midfielder in style of Kroos whom you can pass the ball and be safe, and have amazing passing abilities. Bring in players Like Gvardiol because player is versatile in 3 positions and proper striker like Haaland. There is need for another center back because Madrid could proabb pull from the academy.
Next would probably be selling Mendy in favour of more attacking minded left wing back and proper successor to Cravjal. And with that, Madrid would be fixed when you think about postion coverage, bench and tactics. There is too much players doing same thing.

Madrid losing la liga is nothing wierd. The last time Real Madrid won two leagues in a row was 2006-2007, and after that, it was in the 80s (they won 5 in a row). They are a team that play long term as they play each game: Just putting enough effort to not concede to save energy and playing 15 minutes at the end for real to score (or to comeback). Is the same each season, they will just put effort the second half, they may win the UCL even if they had a bad season. That's why they will never win a Treble.

It's not about targeting cheap players only. It's about buying right players for the club, for the right price at the right time. Unlike PL clubs, RM doesnt have the luxury of paying 2x of what the player is worth just to outbid someone. Laliga only has broadcasting revenue and no revenue depending on where the team finished in the table or if they win the title. Compare that to what PL teams makes even if they are 10th in the table. It's a night and day difference. That's why when ManU hijacked Leny Yoro deal by offering him way more money in wages and way more in transfer offer, they backed out of it.

Thank you for sharing the video that addresses the challenges Real Madrid is facing this season. It’s clear that we started the season taking some significant risks by not reinforcing the squad with a reliable defender. Last season, we managed to survive despite missing three key players for most of the year.
This season, with the demanding schedule of nearly 70 matches ahead, I feel it’s quite risky to enter without a solid alternative in the center-back position. I have my doubts about whether we will make any additions during the winter transfer window, but I believe we should consider giving Valverde an opportunity at right-back. While it may seem unconventional, I think he could surprise us much like Camavinga did last seasons at left-back.
Additionally, I believe it might be beneficial for Carlo to explore a 3-4-3 formation, allowing Jude more freedom to showcase his freedom and creativity. If I could dream up some transfers, I would love to see us bring in players like Bastoni from Inter, perhaps on any terms necessary, Freibourg from Bayer Leverkusen along with a free transfer for Davies and.
Of course, while we may not find a direct replacement for Toni, it’s crucial that we make some adjustments in formations, coaching strategies, tactics, and personnel to adapt to the season's demands.

This is so unbalance squad. Lack organisation in defence. Mendy is defensive fullback. So they attack through Carvajal and now he is gone. Alaba & Curtoise also injured. Militao & rudiger look lost i dont know why.
No midfield maestro who control the tempo. Cama, Fede & Jude look very similar. Tchoumeni is anchor man not really up to standard as world class DM.
The attack is weird as hell. No natural striker. Vini, Rodrygo & mbappe all are naturally is right wing forward.
Last year only Vini get the license to perform less defensive duty. Now they have two walkers (Vini & Mbappe). So there is no effective high press.

Barcelona were better for much of some of the Classico’s even when they lost, and Dortmund was better for the first half in the final. This has become far too common, and let’s be real - Real has NEVER been a defensive shutout team. The biggest issue Barcelona showed is how bad their press is - it was SO easy for us to play through the middle - see Casadó’s assist for the first goal, Saturday.

Defense was already a little bit shaky last season but they were always able to overcome it because of the heavy workhorse nature of their midfield combined with Kroos' creativity within the final third. All they needed was one chance and they could cause some real damage. To an extent, this is still true, but the players capable of making that happen are either worse (And also not getting played, like Guler), or just too old to be starting (Modric). Bellingham, Tchouameni and Valverde is a very physicality-based midfield with very little in the way of creativity, essentially all the creativity is left off to the attackers which makes isolating easier. You shut out Vinicius and if Modric isn't playing, Madrid essentially have to resort to flinging random balls forward hoping someone will pick them up and score.

There are many problems in Madrid, Kroos retirement and lack of structure in the midfield, mediocore defense, but imo the main problem still lies in the Attack. Mbappe, Vini and Rodrygo are all left wingers, Madrid basically has no strikers at all and the solution is not forcing players to play out of position and expecting them to play at their highest level. Neither of the 3 can play as a striker, they actually all never did anywhere else before. I actually feel for Mbappe, he gets put in a really bad situation here, being asked to play a position he never really played before just to be bombarded with criticism. I actually think Vini is the better option at the 9 of those 2, but the ultimate and only a solution is to get a striker, teach either Mbappe or Vini to play on the other wing and bench rodrygo.
