Because Madrid, instead of signing to improve on a very well balanced system, ditched the system to sign (and accomodate) a galatico. Barca, on the other hand, got a a very good coach who built a very good system around what the club has available.
Both clubs basically reverted to type.

Should’ve signed someone like Kimmich to compensate for the loss of Kroos. They have 0 creators in the midfield, everyone there is just running around trying to overpower players and 0 time trying to make creative passes. Modric can, but he’s only one guy and he’s too old to be starting hard games. Arda Guler can provide something like that but i guess Ancelotti is just not interested in the player.

Vini’s goal was an open goal, tackle on Mbappe by Dortmund defender.
Lucas’ goal came from the right, he passed the ball, it deflected back to him & he scored individually.
Vini’s 2nd goal, he got the ball inside his own half & ran with & scored from outside the box. Kylian’s run making it easier.

    2. Mbappe is at his best when there is a Central striker for him to play off, usually off the left.
    3. Vinicius is at his best attacking space off the left, very much like Mbappe, but he is also able to create more than Mbappe does.
    3. Without Kroos and Modric playing limited minutes, due to his age, the Real Madrid midfield isn't creative enough nor is dominant enough with the ball. A very physical midfield but something that can't dominate a game.

Barcelonista here, I had to listen to the game instead of watching it and must admit that while I didn’t think winning beyond us, specially after the first half, I was very pleasantly surprised to get the W nonetheless and to have our front three all perform and score, it surely did wonders to uplift us from an otherwise disappointing season last year, specially in Europe. Kudos to our players but here goes my unbiased analytics of Madrid:
You can’t continue to say their missing Kroos is at the root of their failing but rather the early stage they find themselves in what with figuring out their best approach. Barça’s high line is essentially keeping is from conceding much and for attacking sides like Madrid, they are going to try and turn that against us. We were absolutely spot on and created enough offsides to upturn Madrid and make them frustrated. This Madrid is a side that can only play and win when they have momentum and with that first Lewandovsky goal, we made them insecure and forced their hand. de Jong’s abilities centrally then tore them apart and we got four. Madrid can learn this from this game: play a 3-4-3 allowing Vini to play as LM and Mbappé to play a LAM/LW/LF role where he drifts in allowing Vini to take full advantage of the width and pace to overload the left flank. With a healthy Rodrygo play as a RAM/RF hybrid, Jude can better adjust to playing centrally and allowing for overloads moving left or make runs in centrally or right with Rodrygo. The other mids for Madrid should be Valverde as the RCM with either Tchouameni or Kamavinga slotting in in the CDM/LWB role so they can support the three at the back with Rudiger and Militão being the de facto CBs. Simply put, they’re going to become increasingly comfortable playing as pressing game and using their left flank speed to get in behind and Valverde will have to step up to play off Rodrygo on the right to somehow balance their mid and forward line.

Its simple they didn't replace Kroos and signed a 2nd LW instead which clogs up Vini's space

Before I indulge in watching your opinion and (well-crafted) video on it: Barca fan here and since the days of Tiki Taka it has been somewhat painful. I am happy to see fresh faces and immense talent at the club. My other liked team is in a much worse situation squad-wise , Manchester United.

I've always understood Toni Kroos' role as space and control.... He was the brain of the team, he always figured out where space is, and with his passing controlled the game and how his team used space. When a progressive pass was going to just inevitably end up coming back he would opt against it, and when a chance was on he would pass the ball to someone who could make the chance come about.... Someone like Fede (who has taken over most of Toni's metronomic passing duties) doesn't yet have the level of reading to fully understand when a progressive pass will lead to a chance and when it's likely to run into a dead end. And although Luka has just about the same passing range as Toni, they are too different for him to just slot in and do his role. And I think the player who has the most similar thinking patterns in possession currently would be Rodri at City. And since there's no more Tonis on the market, Real need to phase out the Toni role and rework their midfield instead of giving his role to Jude and Fede

In the goal scoring section, and then just saying how many goals Vini and Mbappe have does not tell the full story. I think mention the fact that a lot of those are actually pks would give a better representation of how poorly they are playing together

Jude Bellingham is nothing like Kroos. Bellingham is a typical English box to box, arrive late in the box and score goals player. Bellingham cannot dictate the game, his passing range is average and he’s not that technical. The English have done the usual overrating of their players. Bellingham is not a replacement for Kroos at all. The English think a great midfielder is someone who scores goals and gets stuck in. On the continent great midfielders are players who are technical, great passers and can dictate a game like a Modric, Kroos and iniesta. This view is why the English very rarely produce players who dictate the game.
On where gavi fits in. The lads were saying he could go in the 10 position but gavi isn’t that creative. Olmo is far superior to gavi in every way in the offensive side of the game. IMO there is no starting place for gavi in this team. He’s a solid squad player but not a starter. I think he’s very overrated and also he gets carded constantly which puts the team at risk of getting a man sent off.

As a Barca fan. You can’t imagine how wonderful this is. They bought Bellingham and Mbappé. I mean it’s basically Galacticos 2.0. And they are losing. To an attack consisting of an 18 year old. A 36 year old and an underrated Player. You love to see it.

3 of Mbappe's 6 goals and 2 of Vini's 5 came from penalties. So whether the two can synergize in open play, while wanting to occupy similar spaces, is still very much an unanswered question.
