    Thank you. Much more informative than reading written instructions. I bought my Baby Weber Q last season and am only now starting to use it regularly.

      Hi Jan, thanks for your comment its much appreciated, the Baby Q is a great bit of kit, when you've finished cooking remember to burn off and brush off any debris, and warm up for ten minutes the next time you cook.

    Thank you! This is just what I was after - entertaining and informative. I'm keen to try this out when the weather warms up (it's chilly here in Tasmania). Thanks again!!

      Hi Justin, glad you liked my cleaning vid, well it may be chilly in Tasmania, but here in the UK we are getting extreme heat weather warmings 41c forecast tomorrow. Real barbecue weather bring it on, sadly I've had an operation on my left hand, I can't use it for the next 3 weeks great.

      Hi Kevin, just scrubbed it down, my barbecue stuff is now tucked up in the garage for the winter, I'm not one of those hardy souls that barbecue in all weathers, too long in the tooth for that.

      Hi Michael, many thanks for your comment, I have a friend who is now on to his second barbecue, and my Weber Q is still going strong, their products may be a little more expensive, the old saying you get what you pay for. Cheers

    Here in Wisconsin we would have at least 3 beers before we scraped our grill but only a minor disagreement

      Hi Greg, you just can't do barbecue cooking without being messy, my mantra burn off and brush off seems to work. Thank you for your comment I do appreciate any feed back. Right now I can't wait for the spring so I can get grilling again, I have some cracking recipes to cook, so keep watching, and once again many thanks for your support.

    If you're still around old-timer, from a fellow old-timer. How do you get left on and backed on food from a secondhand Weber Q that has been abused... Badly abused?

    • @BBQWalkofFlame
      @BBQWalkofFlame  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi George, many thanks for your comment, my Weber Q hasn't been abused its cleaned after every cook.With yours you could try getting the grates really hot with the Q burners full on, the lid closed, you'll use loads of gas, then have a beer or two or three, and then brush off with a really stiff wire brush. If that doesn't work try jetting with a jet wash, it may remove the enamel from the grates. If that doesn't work its time to get some new ones, in my view they're a bit expensive.

      @@BBQWalkofFlame Mine is screwed. Once I cleaned it there was rust. Do the new half plates work on an older Baby Q?

    • @BBQWalkofFlame
      @BBQWalkofFlame  11 месяцев назад

      Hi George, I think, provided they are genuine Weber grates, purchased from Weber, they should fit.
      I would check with Weber before purchase.

    Those erroded grates are easy to replace these days anyway. You could keep using that bbq for another ten years if you did.

    • @BBQWalkofFlame
      @BBQWalkofFlame  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Cindy, many thanks for your comment, I do hope you are right about getting another ten years out of it, right now I'm very happy with my Weber Q, its well made and is everything I want from a barbecue, occasionally I could do with something a bit bigger but those times are few and far between. I recon I'll get another season out of those grates, so keep watching and see.

    • @gunthercindy

      @BBQWalkofFlame I bought my family q on new years eve. Various problems meant I only got the gas bottle for it yesterday and I'm going to fire it up for a test run today. Is there anything I should do for first use to clean the grills and griddle? It's just sausages and a couple of burger patties to see how they cook for lunch but I'm still excited. I have never bbq'd before. With a possible cyclone on the coast I thought it a good time to learn for emergencies. Also yummy food.

    • @BBQWalkofFlame
      @BBQWalkofFlame  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Cindy, as far as I can remember the instructions said, wash in warm soapy water and dry before use, however it been a long time since my Q was new. Some on RUclips say the grates need to be seasoned, I followed the Weber instructions and did not experience any major problems, occasionally some foods will stick, very often because I'm trying to remove or flip too soon, brush the meat not the grates with oil does help with sticking, at this point I season the meat with pepper only, as salt draws out the moisture, I like my steaks juicy. I do hope that cyclone changes direction and you can enjoy your Weber Q, here in the UK its mid winter, lots of rain, a bit of snow, freezing temperatures -10c, so my Weber Q is in the garage until March/April, when I can't wait to get cooking again. Once again many thanks for watching my channel, any problems get in touch.

    • @gunthercindy
      @gunthercindy 5 месяцев назад

      @BBQWalkofFlame success! It was just premade burger paties and sausages but they were great. I did it completely solo and I did a gentle cleanse in soap and water like you said. Still intimidating but excited to try again. Thanks for the advice and encouragement. Unfortunately the cyclone looks like it will form in 2 days and is heading in our direction on the Queensland coast so looks like a stormy Australia day weekend for us. I'm looking forward to exploring your channel and trying a few things.

    Nothing cleans a bbq better than forgetting to turn it off for 24 hours or more. Then blame the kids for taking too long of a shower to cover up the higher bill.
