    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

I will never comment on what you haven’t done. Good grief - your to do list is longer than anything I can imagine. It’s your in progress list and the completed jobs that deserve comments. Everything you all do is spectacular, so watching the process is just pure pleasure.

My personal feelings: I am trying to understand why people comment on when this or that will get done. Really? As if you don't know your own home? Do they think you will miss something? It will get done when you all have the time to get to it. You owe us no explanation; not even your patron members have a right to question why you still need to get to a project. It's your business when and how you prioritize the vast amount of work you have on your to-do list. You spend more time explaining yourselves and why you've not gotten to a project or complete something than any RUclipsr I've watched. Your willingness to video your progress and post it for our entertainment is much appreciated. I get so much joy out of your excitement! Thank you again for letting us join you on this renovation journey!

There is no way I could get on scaffolding that high. I know people have jobs that require high work all of the time, and some people who enjoy rock/mountain climbing, but for the average person that's a super-human job. Nicely done Terry.

I have a couple of things to say, first to all of those people who are 'nagging' you about the work they see as should be completed, give it a rest. If you yourselves have ever done renovations you would have only an inkling at what a massive labour intensive job this is. I speak from experience and the reno jobs I have been involved in have been big but nowhere near the scope of this. Second, Terry, I thought I would throw up just looking at where you were doing the work on the dormer, my head is still spinning. Ash, your excitement is palpable and it is a diffident yes on the important of the stone with dates being placed. You ALL are amazing . Yes, blessed for sure.

I have no idea how people brave heights. I suffer from vertigo and loss of balance so would never be able to do what you guys have done. The Chateau, wow she is coming into her own. She is looking very stylish and it’s all thanks to your hard work and vision. That stone work looks stunning and dates for these buildings is so important. Never forget the history but at the same time don’t let it stop your visions and dreams.

I don’t have much balance on a pair of steps. I don’t know how he managed to sit up there in that wind all day sanding and painting so well done.

Your drone footage makes the chateaux resemble a tiered wedding cake with the tower scaffolding. Ignore the comments of when will you do….you have accomplished such amazing strides in the rebirth of your magnificent home. Fascinated to know what the design of the little dormer woodwork detail is for? - keeping out the bats and birds but giving air circulation? Every time you saw and hammer out parts of the stone it ‘floors me’ how thick your walls are. Thrilled for your new marker stone!

God bless you, Terry. I am like Ash. I couldn't go that high on scaffolding and a latter. While you're up there, please spray for moss/algae removal. The new paintwork looks fantastic.
Ash, I can see why you are so proud of your new cornerstone. You, Terry, and the whole family have made an enormous difference in the legacy of Château Lalacelle. She will thrive again! The whole village can be proud of your restoration efforts. You all are an asset to the community. 😊🎉❤
