A number of years -- more than 2 but less than 7 -- before you bought this magnificent lady, it was featured on a RUclips video for a channel that has since gone kaput. The couple looking at it, had money to burn but no DIY skills whatsoever. They brought a French contractor with them who kept shaking his head. Eventually, he told them that even with 1 million euros, she could not be fixed and would fall down around them. So, they looked elsewhere -- and kept looking and looking. When you started your channel, I said -- I know that property! I was enthralled with the structural repairs you completed and how you put the floors back like a puzzle. Your decorating was spot on. You should be proud that you saved this magnificent lady.
Carole, Adrian and Beth, you brought the chateau back to life with hard work and a great eye for design. Wishing you the very best in your next adventure! ❤
Well if it was hiring help vs doing it themselves I think the contractor may have been justified. I think it goes without saying Adrian and Carole did not get ‘paid’ what it would have cost in labor the work they did.
Thanks, we miss you very much, it seems like we lost a family member. We will watch for your other adventures. Here’s wishing you the very best in the future.
As a 30 something yr old interior designer from Calgary, I will miss following along with your wonderful families journey. All of you have been a light of inspiration & moments of great humour (laughing with you). Take care, and please keep us updated!! 💜💚❤
You all did a magnificent service to this historic work of art. I am still sad he’s not keeping the chandeliers or draperies I think the quality of work and the decor is above and beyond. I dreamt it was I that would get to buy it lol I would cherish everything about the work you did. The wallpaper matched those custom draperies ❤
JEALOUS OF CAROLES ARTISTIC BEAUTIFUL APPROPRIATE DESIGNS , IN PAINT, WALLPAPER, GOLDLEAFING AND DESIGNER TALENT, HER HOMEMAID DRAPERIES, AND ADRIANS. E TREAME WORK IN BATHROOMS, PARQUE PUZZEL FLOORING. THE RESORATION OF FURACE AND WATER HEATER BASEMENT. DOORS. WINDOWS ROOF, WALL GARDEN, OMG. SO WELL DONE. THIS CHATEAU. CASTLE NEEDS TO BE APPRECIATED 1000% THE GROUNDS ARE HUGE AND SO BEAUTIFUL. THIS CASTLE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR A DELUXE HOTEL BNB. I HOPE THIS IWNWE WILL BE CREATIVE AND NOT WRECK CAROLES DESIGNER ROOMS. I HOPE WE CAN SEE THIS PLACE AGAIN. PLUS THE COACH HOUSE. OH MY. PLUS OTHER GITES. OH MY. I MISS THIS VLOG A D THE RESTORATION OF SUCH A GRAND🏰 CASTLE IN A LOVELY AREA!❤
I for one am going to truly miss all of you. Carole with your artistic talent and creativity and Adian for all your craftsmanship and hard work. I as many others Im sure have lived vicariously through your channel wishing I had the money to do what both of you have done. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.
I've watched y'all from the beginning. It's mind boggling how much effort and love you have put into Chateau de la Ferte, AND how much you have improved its overall health! It must be bittersweet to leave. I wish you well in future endeavors and thank you for all the entertainment. I'll miss your (former) beautiful chateau!
Incredible accomplishment! Thank you, for bringing us along on this marvelous journey of restoring this awesome chateau, outbuildings, garden and grounds! You should be so proud! Beth, congratulations on your graduation! I am very proud of you! It is not easy what you accomplished! Bravo! The filming and editing of this video is so well done! Thank you, Adrian, Carole and Beth! God bless your, future endeavors!
Thank you, Adrian, Carole and Beth! for all the hard work in filming, editing all the time you have done your renovations on 'Chateau de la Ferte' and taking us along on this epic journey of which I have followed from the very beginning. It is bittersweet and sad and this video was done superbly and as you went through the before and after of each room, I was remembering some of the things that kept in my memory, like the marble fireplace, Carol repairing it, Adrian the wooden floors in the salon, hall way, Beth helping with painting and your beautiful humour and laughter. I hope the new owners will let us see the end product of the chateau. I wish you Carole, Adrianne, Beth the very best in your transition back to England and you all should be so proud of what you achieved with this magnificent Chateau. I will miss the renovation. Big hugs to you all and look forward to your new adventures. What will your channel be called or do we follow on Chateau de la Ferte?
That was a lovely tribute to your renovation. So sad to see the lovely chandeliers go. The dining room was my favourite. Best for next adventures and hope Beth has had a good break from uni.
You guys did an excellent job and saved this building. And when you have chateau withdrawal or crave some more gold leafing, Terry just presented his plans for the 401 suite. Lots of gold leafing/painting required, Carole! 😉⚜️🏯 You could join him, have some fun antiquing and hanging out with good friends.
I am in awe in what you all have achieved Carole and Adrian to the flooring the walls the ceilings ,the accents of gold and every thing done meticulously . To the wall paper choices and paints and ceiling detail ,the chandeliers to the furniture, Plus what you done to the grounds. I shall miss all of what you showed and loved watching you on your journey. I wish you both much happiness where ever you end up. Plus the bonus of being with the ones you love your Family. A big thankyou Carole Adrian and Beth😘😘
A wonderful way to say goodbye to this beautiful old Dame. Loved the melding of old into new, well done Beth! Good luck to all of you, may your futures be bright and happy!
Gracias por esta maravillosa propiedad espero que los nuevos propietarios la terminen. Carol no estés triste hay muchos proyectos para ustedes que son increíbles ❤
Seeing the chateau without furniture is heartbreaking, but Carole and Adrian were exactly what was needed here. Let’s hope the new owners appreciate what you have started and finish the job. Goodness knows your hearts and souls remain within these walls! (And in the strawberry patch)
Thank you for inviting me into your home via your videos to watch how you transformed this beautiful home/chateau. You were astonishing caretakers of this beautiful building and the transformations were amazing. I literally got teary eyed as I saw the long hallway shots and remembered all of the hard work by your beautiful family. I want to thank you also for all of the creative editing of the videos. I wish you the best as you move back to England and I'll be looking for future new videos of your adventures.
I will mis your renovation of this wonderfull place you did a great job hope to see your next project maybe in the Uk thank you for sharing and goodbye 🌹🌺
You all really put everything into this project and you did a beautiful job! While it's sad that you weren't able to complete it, the chateau's next owners will hopefully carry on the tradition and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you left a bit of yourselves as a part of its history, as well as introducing the world to the chateau and to your own family. You took on something that many of us dream of doing, but most of us don't have anywhere near the courage to actually do! I've always heard that owning a boat is like buying a hole in the water, into which you throw all your money. Everything I see on all the chateau channels I watch makes me think that owning a chateau is much the same. Thanks for taking us along on your journey, and all the best as you move on to your next life adventure!
Though I understand your wanting to make changes on behalf of your family, oh how I miss your channel. It's been so enjoyable following your family and restoration journey. Thanks for this update video. The before and after pics/reels are amazing. You've done such a beautiful job. Thank you Adrian, Carole and Bethany!
I've watched and enjoyed so many Sundays, not only your vision for the chateau, but you and your family,it brightend my day every Sunday.i hope you start a new project and take us along.❤ if your going to change your blog name? Or is sadly the end.
Amazing work all round - floors, decor, and such a great idea to use the photo to current state, Beth. Thanks for bringing us along. Enjoy the family and looking forward to your next adventures.
You did so much work, yet there is more to do to finish the restoration. I hope the new owners continue and this piece of history is preserved and lived in for future generations. It is a beautiful building. The work in the grounds is impressive, nature reclaims so quickly. I enjoyed the videos and the shopping trips. The humor between both of you will be missed.
Good luck, and thank you. I discovered your channel during pandemia and enjoyed your versatility and problem solving. You are a couple of wonderful talents, and I think you saved Chateau Le Ferté for the future, and showed that old constructions can be fix on a budget.
It is amazing how much you accomplished in a relatively short time. It is sad that you could not finish bringing her fully back to life. Ah! but what you did manage you did extremely well. The basic bones of the chateau are mostly done, floors made safe, walls cleaned and drywalled where needed. The grounds are cleared and its secrets uncovered. You can tell this was a labour of love. It would have been nice to have known you recouped what you put into her, but the necessity to sell fairly fast and the markets dictate the selling price. I look forward to seeing your next projects, because I am sure there will be more to come. I honestly cannot see you sitting back without a major project in the works. Happy hunting in England for that over looked gem to bring back life into it. Saskatchewan, Canada.
You guys have done an absolutely remarkable job of restoring this magnificent chateau. I felt sad watching this video and even shed a tear or two. You have put your heart into this restoration and I trust that the new owners will appreciate and value what you have done. What a shame that they didn't keep those spectacular chandeliers and curtains. May your future journey be filled with much love, laughter and success. I shall miss watching your channel. Bon voyage.🤩🥰
Hi Carole, Adrian & Beth, what a well done video! I have loved following every step of your chateau journey! The great work inside and out that you have done has been a pleasure to watch! Whoever bought this gem from you is very, very lucky for the meticulous care that was put into the renovation / restoration work. I wish you all the very best in life and hope that we will be very fortunate to still follow your new journey! Thank you so much, it's been a pleasure! Sending warm hugs and lots of love, Kathy xo
Thank you Carol, Adrian and Beth for all the amazing content you brought to us in your videos. A job well done by all! Many of us feel that you are part of the family and looked forward to our time on a Sunday to enjoy your company. I never heard the music, Borderless before your channel. I liked it so much it is my ring tone on my phone. Looking forward to future content, when you're back in action. Wishing you all the very best.
There will never be more loving & caring caretaker of the chateau other then you folks. Emptiness lies sadness. It feels as though chateau is mistful and missing the previous occupants, meaning you.. To Carol, Adrian, & Beth; May you find happiness where ever you decide to settle. As sad as this parting is, it's not the end. A significant chapter had opened, progressed and ended. May there be another splendid chapter begin soon. And let us know when and where. Thank you for sharing part of your life with us. Take care and be well.
I hate the fact you couldn’t keep your chateau. Everything you did to the chateau you did with love and patience. Looking at every room your restored and completed you did with style and simple elegance. You will be missed. Your channel was my favorite, couldn’t miss an episode every Sunday. Best of luck to all your future endeavors.
It's been a tremendous ride, accompanying you along your Chateau adventure Thank you! Looking forward to reading about a new adventure...... Have a great summer
Thanks Carole and Adrian for taking us on your journey with Chateau de la Ferte, and thanks too for Beth's editing skills and for this valedictory vlog. I think what you both did with the Grand Salon, puzzling out how the floor was to be laid and gold leafing all the plaster accents was probably the highlight. We were still looking forward to what you would do with the top floor and the Coach house but at the end of the day, love of family is more important than property. That's not to say I won't be looking out for what you plan for your next home. Best wishes to you all.
Thank you for this beautiful footage. You all did an amazing job that you can be proud of. I hope the new owners finish the restoration and eventually share it with us. I loved your vision for the place and all the gold embellishments you did. Good luck with your future projects❤❤❤
So sad to see all-the beautiful chandeliers gone !!! It was the most beautiful Chateau you did a great job, but moving on to the next chapter, it will never look like you had it don’t care what the new owner does. Good luck in your new life love and hugs to you and your family. Will be looking for the next chapter in your lives. Love to you all!👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🙏🇨🇦
✨I enjoyed every vlog of your epic restoration adventure. You are all such talented, dedicated and hard working people. Looking forward to following your next project. In the meantime, hopefully some well-deserved rest and relaxation!✨
A beautiful restoration of a grand chateau!! I will miss you and your meticulous restoration. Wishing you all great happiness on your new ventures. Most of all, I wish you great love being near your wonderful family. ❤
It still makes me sad to see alllll the gold you painted and allll the gold leaf you used to make this Chateau such a beautiful piece of work and THEN HAVE TO LEAVE IT!!! It was in shambles!!!!!!! Carole, Adrian and BETH you allll did a bang up job!!!!!!! But such a beautiful job then to ONLY LET someone else live in it!!! But as I have realized LIFE GOES ON!!!! Each fleeting tear is a journey and we just do it!!!! Beautiful, gorgeous, marvelous just makes me sad to give it up!!! And the outside gardens the cleaning up too! Renovating the stables those doors the gates the fence the flower beds!!!!! It truly was a Labor of LOVE! God Bless you all and thank you for giving ME THE JOY OF LOOKING FORWARD TO AN EVENING OF AWE AND AMAZEMENT !!!!!! Fixing all those chandeliers the sewing the beautiful curtains the wallpapering!!!! Wow❤
Wow ,you both done wonders with this chateau ,did'nt realize how much work you had done ,sure bought it back to life .👍Loved dining room ,Thanks for showing ,Best for both ,xx
I want to say how much I came to be attached to all of you and the chateau. One of my dreams was to have restored and lived in a proud and grand home such as yours. I admire and am in awe of all of your patience, talent and devotion to bring this chateau back to its original glory. You are an inspiration and while my dream is and will be just that, watching your videos allowed me to See what could have been and for that I an so grateful. I hope to see your next project unfold and bless all of you for not giving up and preserving this beautiful piece of history.
I remember first seeing this chateau when another chateau couple looked at buying it - and decided it was too far gone! You proved all the doubters wrong! Such beautiful work done, and I’m so going to miss sharing your days. Good luck for the future, and enjoy your family! x
Seriously the work you two put into this chateau was amazing - you really are so skilled and we can’t believe the amount of work that goes into these old places - wow just amazing!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So lovely, I was hoping you’d finish that with a view of the newly renovated front gates closing on the chateau! Well done family. Enjoy your next project! 👏👏
I loved this one last look at Chateau de la Ferte, although it made me sad. What amazing work you did to ensure her future. I hope the new owner continues your work to with the love and care you all put into your restoration. ❤
Be very proud of the amazing work you have done and absolutely enthralled at your constant energy and enthusiasm. I hope to see progress. It will be hard for you though, as anothers vision likely be different from your own. I hope you buy another grand lady in the UK and we get to watch you transform that home. Best of luck.
Please keep us updated with your future endeavors. You all did a magnificent job improving the château and grounds. Especially the gold details and floors. I would have given up.
I can just see Adrian replacing all those floors and painstakingly laying the parquet floor. And I can see Carole cleaning walls and doors and removing paint and wallpaper before transforming the spaces completely. I just wish they both could have continued, but life gets in the way sometimes. Best wishes for everything you do from now on. Beth has been a star with the editing too of course. Congratulations all. A triumph.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful chateau with all of us viewers. I really enjoyed your vlogs and will miss them greatly. All the best on your new adventures back in England. 😢❤
You three will be greatly missed. But it’s time to relax and be wonderful grandparents and auntie. I have really enjoyed your vlogs. Will miss the antique shopping. Hope you kept your best finds. Looks like you’ve left plenty of work for the new caretakers. I appreciate your dedication to the channel. Best wishes on the next chapters.
You did a fantastic job on the work and enjoyed watching the progress. Just hope the new owner continues the renovation. Certainly the windows need doing and lime rendering the facade. Be interesting what your next project is.
Well Adrian and Carole! That video put it in a nutshell! The amazing work you both did and attention to detail was fantastic. A labour of love truly 🫶. My only regret was not seeing your touch put into the coach house. As I do love that building. Be very proud of your accomplishments as I certainly am. Thank you Beth! For all your hard work editing the content. It’s not an easy thing to do. But you definitely did it very well. So now just awaiting the name change for the channel for your next project. I would say go and enjoy the summer back in the UK but! It’s been as poor as the one in France 🤣. Stay lovely and happy and enjoy the extra time you will have with the growing family. Until me meet again (virtually)😝😝. Luv James❤️❤️🍻🥂
Every restoration was done beautifully. We saw it all 🌟 Loved the artistic editing, Beth. Sad to leave but your adventurous spirit will stand you in good stead for the next chapter 🩷 Best wishes.
I loved watching the progress and all the struggles and the chemistry between all of you ❤️ I have an old house and love to watch someone love the old beauties back to glory because they just don’t build them like this anymore and its truly historic history ❤ May all your new journeys lead to pure happiness ❤ From Adrian Michigan farewell to you all ❤
Just wanted to say have enjoyed this journey with you both and all that helped. Wishing you the best and God's blessings will truly miss you all . Love from Michigan U.S.A. 🥰🌈🌹💕💖🤭🙏
Yes it was hard work but worth it! 😊
Moral of the story. Don't trust a French contractor. That's why there are many of these semi abandoned chateaus.

I am so sorry you are leaving this grand place unfinished. You did a brilliant job. So much accomplished. I will miss this grand lady
Thank you so much!

May you find happiness where ever you decide to settle. As sad as this parting is, it's not the end. A significant chapter had opened, progressed and ended.
May there be another splendid chapter begin soon. And let us know when and where.
Thank you for sharing part of your life with us.
Take care and be well.
Thank you 😊
I hate the fact you couldn’t keep your chateau. Everything you did to the chateau you did with love and patience. Looking at every room your restored and completed you did with style and simple elegance. You will be missed. Your channel was my favorite, couldn’t miss an episode every Sunday. Best of luck to all your future endeavors.
Thank you ☺️
It's been a tremendous ride, accompanying you along your Chateau adventure
Thank you!
Looking forward to reading about a new adventure......
Have a great summer
More to come! And yes what summer!!😂
Thank you more coming very soon😊
Thank you for this beautiful footage. You all did an amazing job that you can be proud of. I hope the new owners finish the restoration and eventually share it with us. I loved your vision for the place and all the gold embellishments you did. Good luck with your future projects❤❤❤

I want to say how much I came to be attached to all of you and the chateau. One of my dreams was to have restored and lived in a proud and grand home such as yours. I admire and am in awe of all of your patience, talent and devotion to bring this chateau back to its original glory. You are an inspiration and while my dream is and will be just that, watching your videos allowed me to

I remember first seeing this chateau when another chateau couple looked at buying it - and decided it was too far gone! You proved all the doubters wrong! Such beautiful work done, and I’m so going to miss sharing your days. Good luck for the future, and enjoy your family! x
Thank you 😊
This video was a great roundup of all your accomplishments. The Chateau looks wonderful. I've enjoyed this channel and will keep watching. God bless.

So lovely, I was hoping you’d finish that with a view of the newly renovated front gates closing on the chateau! Well done family. Enjoy your next project! 👏👏
Many thanks!
I loved this one last look at Chateau de la Ferte, although it made me sad. What amazing work you did to ensure her future. I hope the new owner continues your work to with the love and care you all put into your restoration. ❤
I’m sure he will!
Thank you 😊

Please keep us updated with your future endeavors. You all did a magnificent job improving the château and grounds. Especially the gold details and floors. I would have given up.
I’m missing you guys already. I’m sure you are going to have some surprises coming up 😊
I hope so too!
A triumph.
Thank you Lisa 😊
Thank you for sharing this beautiful chateau with all of us viewers. I really enjoyed your vlogs and will miss them greatly. All the best on your new adventures back in England. 😢❤

You three will be greatly missed. But it’s time to relax and be wonderful grandparents and auntie. I have really enjoyed your vlogs. Will miss the antique shopping. Hope you kept your best finds. Impressive video of before and after. Somewhat heartbreaking I’m sure. Thanks so much for sharing

I can't wait to see what Beth films you doing next. Sailing around the world?
I wish but I’m afraid it would be solo!
I do hope you are all happy and feeling less stressed. Maybe a venue video or two in the future?
@@SweetOne. lots more videos coming!
