Thats amazing!!! And yet some people had them die out fast. I always wonder if its the environment. Like running a computer in 95 degree house will make it cook alot faster then at 75. No long ago I hooked up my DEF 7006 and unplugged the amps. Then connected to a sub. That confirmed when the internal amps break I will probably just use a sub.....they sounded good. Till death do us part hahahaha
That's good and all but are we really buying new amps every few years for this sub or are there better options out there so you don't have to do this every year. I'd like to buy a sub I won't have to replace every couple of years.
If you don't have it under warranty and you look to get a replacement amplifier plate the cheapest was to order a bash 300w plate amplifier from parts express it's the exact same amplifier that the 505 was built with. Polk didn't make the amplifier plate they just had there name put on it. If you look at the back of your original amplifier plate you will find the name bash In small letters. They still make them and sell them under there name. They actually supplied just about every speaker company there is at one point with there amplifier. The actual plate it self my have thing in different locations and be a different sizes depending on what speaker manufacturer they built it for but the actual electrical components on back are the same for all the bash 300 so you can swap all the components to any of the plate . This so it says looking original. The bash company plate are raw aluminum with the name bash in big letter. So the appearance is completely different besides that it's the same shxt. There a none flow with that amplifier it's a simple fix when you get a new one if it's a bash all the yellow glue has to be removed and replace with hot glue or silicone. Because the glue that used overtime becomes conducive and short out the amplifier. That what happened to this guys first amplifier plate. For some reason they still have it on the new plate amplifier boards . Polk has switched and no longer use them . If yo get a replacement amplifier form Polk it won't have that glue the only bad part is the amplifier board there using now have even more problems and are directly to repair. You can also have your original Polk amplifier repaired if it says bash there are people that do repair service and will fix yours it's half the price then a new plate amplifier 💯🎵🎶🫡✌️
i have mine that only shows the red or power on, but there is any output, the indication is like thepre amp has an issue, which components could be changed.
I agree. I have a review version video I will make live in time. Not sure how long it lasts. When I buy home theater components I I decide if the warranty time frame makes me happy .
@@OldtradesReviews makes sense even the HTS12 is a improvement but idk why people underestimate the psw505 everyone gives SVS a change but not the Polk audio subs smh
Mine just went out after 7 yrs. I set it up as part of my television sound system. It rarely got used since I'm really into watching much TV. I paid $180 for it back then and now P.A. wants that much plus taxes and shipping for an amplifier board. Hopefully I can find a used one.
The cap are going bad if you replace the caps it would work. They usually will ask for the bad amp though. If not recap it. Bash is the manufacturer you still can buy them at parts express under the bash name. The plate you have the new style different brand not the same and sorry to say even worse then the bash more difficult to repair also.😢👍✌️💯
Nice work my friend. Same here Definitive Technology Towers amps will not stop working. Picked up in 2003. Knock on wood all six keep on kicking!

🎉 thank you for taking the time to share with the world in detail this info 👇🙋♂️
Glad it was helpful!
Did you have to pay for the new Amp or did Polk Audio cover it under warranty?

That's beautiful they actually repair the amps. I wish more people would review this psw505. And how long do you think the amps last ?

SVs subs have a string following. I have yet to listen to them.
I just had to replace the power amp assembly of mine. It lasted 5+ years.

Did they make you show recipes or ask you to prove that u payed for it or how did that work?
With any warranty issues from manufactures the receipt always seems to be required.
I've got one for bourbon chicken if you want it.
"When this sub works" 😆 🤣 I have 2 and they both don't work.
