gonna try and release a vid similar to this every week on a variety of topics/games
apologies for any editing issues -- kinda rushed this one out the door since I was procrastinating for so long. I'm not used to scripting out ideas/topics, and I'm 1000% not confident at all when releasing these so expect to see some improvements from week to week as I get the hang of actual youtube videos instead of generic stream highlights
thx for watching, sorry for being afk for 3 months. can (usually) catch me on twitch if I'm AFK here. :)
3 weeks ain't that bad, I was procrastinating for 2 months on my term paper. Also congrats on the 5 years on Twitch
There was that one hiccup with double audio ( 4:44 ), otherwise the editing was good. Looking forward to more hot vids :)
I thought it was well done.
Contructivley you did sound very rigged with the script. Nothing practice and more videos wont fix.
69 likes, nice.
If you wanted to, you can edit stuff out in RUclips studio. It will reprocess the video.
@4:44 Seagull has mastered magicks and tries to cast a spell because of spellbreak
LOL WTF THAT WASNT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN
Hansen Edits Haha, i noticed a few other odd mistakes with the voice over. Were these mostly seagull misspeaking or editing mistakes? Still a good video regardless
I think he did it on purpose lol. He was memeing apex
Richtofen probably just didn’t check my vod over I kinda rushed it, it was my fault haha
This game being anti-camping and anti snipe (while still emphasizing on skill) hits the spot.
Exaaactly. Warzone camp/hack fest. Apex is probably the best BR out right now in my opinion even though i dont play it anymore because im sick of BR's.
But this game offers something completely different and very refreshing while not relying on being different to succceed. Its skill based combat and amazing movement make it a great game
BIRD IS BACK ON RUclips REJOICE
Stright up, this is the only BR that I will play. Tried all the other ones, this one is my cup of tea.
Not that I'll ever touch it without a friend to play with though, haha.
I'm glad to see this BR actually doing well. Not a fan of the genre even though I fully understand the appeal. I was a bit dissapointed when I realized this game was BR but I played it out because the whole battlemage was still interesting. When I learned some of the combinations of gauntlet powers you could use, that's when it hooked me.
Solo is really good to play If friends aren’t on. Don’t sleep on it, this game is going to blow up.
HuduYooVudu they will be releasing TDM modes, Single Player Chapters, and who know what else. They have a lot planned!
@@0wnToDead this free?
@@jasondp3546 yes sir
Spellbreak is the only BR I have ever actually enjoyed. It's genuinely fun. There's way less RNG involved and the matches are much shorter than other battle royales.
I cannot wait until you become more confident/consistent with these videos.
Double audio aside, I thought this video (and the others like it) was really well done, and It actually made me want to try out Spellbreak for the first time.
Though I felt like the way you went from segment to segment was a little bit awkward, but that's probably just a me thing, idk.
Yeah I definitely feel if he leans into the way he talks and explains on stream, this type of video would be a lot smoother. He's good at talking, but it has to be in his right style. And reading out a script feels a bit awkward for Mr. Seagull
i started playing a few weeks ago with a couple of friends because i enjoyed watching you play this. really fun so far. really excited for the future of the game
Case of double audio at 4:40
Yea there was actually a bunch of audio mistakes
It wasn't a mistake, it was intentional
He said "Getting lit up" and he interrupted himself with "BECAUSE YOU'RE OUT IN THE OPEN NOT TAKING COVER"
As an active community member for Spellbreak I just want to add my feedback...this game is a long con. Its slow now but the devs and the community are insanely passionate and I truly believe we have an amazing future ahead. Its free, give it a try...maybe follow the game and check in from time to time and see if its something you'd be interested in trying!
I love the game, very glad I found it.
The ones that are still playing are the dedicated playerbase that won’t leave but the game just isn’t growing in numbers. It’s really similar to hyper scape, dauntless, realm Royale to lesser defree
You know a long con is not a positive thing, right? I thought you were about to explain why the game was just an underhanded cash grab that the devs were planning to milk for all its worth and abandon. I was concerned for a second with how I might have bought into the con.
@@alranican lol I couldnt think of a better term to use. This game is meant to be here for the long haul probably sounds better: i dont mean a literal con XD
It is a breath of fresh air. It is really skill based and definitely a quality BR. What its problem is, uts competing with triple AAA developers in a genre thats on its way out. I didnt know about the 9v9 mode but i am extremely excited for it. I hope its a TDM mode or Capture and hold zones gamemode. That would be really cool and work well with how the game is made.
bruh, welcome back. Hope all is well.
He's regularly streaming on Twitch!
Yep, i think youtube is just a hobby for him really he kinda uploads what he feels
He streams from Wednesday to Sunday on Twitch
I AM SO GLAD YOU TRIED THIS OUT!!!! I just tried it out myself last week and got hooked almost instantly. You’re on of my favs on RUclips too man. Looking forwards to some videos!!
Super well thought out video! I enjoy that you don't just upload vods from twitch as your only content. You put out these really thoughtful critiques from time to time, and it's a nice change of pace that I wish more channels would emulate.
I feeeeeeel the tribes and tf2 soldier references soo much!! I freaking love how this feels
6:19 Nice job, Soldier.
God, Hearing him say "in my childhood" hurts so bad. T.T making me feel old lol.
My name is mohamed and i am 18, I acknowledge that i will age one day, i will grow will be bald and old one day which might cone faster than I except. I grew to be thankful for everything i have and whenever something bad happens like for example not being able to go to college this year as i missed my exam i tend to look at the positives such as me getting free time until college next which i can use to work on my body in the gym. Either way, going old is not a bad thing, hey you still get to live and experience life and its stage. Make sure to enjoy these stages. Of course i most likely have less life experience you and so I shouldn’t be really talking, but I thought that sharing my views may be insightful.
What does T.T mean ?
Love these longer-form review vids - really solid points, nice analysis of things ppl probably don't think about. Easy thumb 👍
This literally looks like Gigantic turned into a Battle Royal without the unique character design. RIP Gigantic.
F
Take me back to 2016 :(
I'm soo happy you tried the game and enjoyed it, I'm excited to see more content for both this game and from you playing it
This concept of elements as abilites/weapons,and being able to mix them, is absolutely genius!
Really stoked to see the new style. I was a fan of the highlights since I'm usually unable to catch the stream consistently, but the deliberate content structured as something you want to put out? Fuck. Yes.
Was thrilled to see the notif, big love from Canada, and hope you're doing well!
Birdman giving wholesome reviews. Gotta love the birdman.
I’m glad you made a video on this cause I like the game but last time I played it was almost impossible to find any other match other than solo. So hopefully this brings more players
These last reviewvideos are absolutely amazing, hope there will be more to come!
Great content Mr Gull. Looking forward to seeing more of this type of content.
I've been seeing this!!! I'm so so happy it came out really well.
I really like this type of content from you, it's nice to hear your thoughts in a concise way after some playtime, much different than watching you stream it. Keep it coming. Some parts still had the typical "reading from a script" tone in your delivery but it's good nonetheless, you'll get there.
Been waiting for this review
You're so good at making a prepared statement sound natural there were a few points where I could tell but generally it felt really casual^^
Hearing this compared to Tribes, instantly peeked my interest.
piqued
@@Thermalfusi0n you right.
as somebody who played ascend, the jetpacking is there, the fireballs are almost like spinfusors (it lacks momentum inheritance though) and most of the elemental classes feel right. you'll be at home.
I also like how items look laying on the ground when you walk up. If you can't already tell what it is there is a tiny square with an icon.
Very helpful. Good design. Informative and clear, yet still kinda subtle. Even though there can be lots of items, design decisions like that help taking in the visual info.
Nice to see how far this has come since the alpha version I played a year or two back.
heeell yes thank you for making a video on this. I have been waiting for people tto cover this game. it unique. Hope it lives on. Been playing it for lieka year and a half now
Great video. I hope the game stays alive in the future. I enjoyed your streams of it. Keep up the good work!
I kinda like the essay vibe this video has going on.
Would watch more of this kind of format tbh. Thanks seags!
I played this game late 2018 in the beta, and so much has changed its actually crazy. It has come so far in terms of polish.
I loved this video, you make me want to play this game. It's a shame college has my hands full, hope it doesn't die out before I get to try it. You had one small audio hiccup there in 4:42 though, I don't know if that was intentional. I'm raring to see what else you decide to review next. It shows you put a ton of effort into the script!
So awesome seeing you playing SB. I been loving it too. Hope more ppl check it out!
Such an enjoyable game,, loving it.
RPG-FPS BR? Hell yeah!
Really enjoyed, now i want to go play it!
dude. love these vids!
I gotta say, I like this new, more professional, review type of style from Seagull :)
Really dig this kind of content!
Watched this video and got to relive seagull dumpstering me in that match
Company comes out of Boston and I’ve met a few devs, very cool guys and very passionate about the game, a coder even came to a camp I work at a few months back to introduce coding to the kids and give them a behind the scenes look of development, hope this game does really well
6:00 while I'm sure their intention was to balance endgame by making heals scarce, all I feel it really does is lessen midgame aggression since you can't rely on getting enough heals after a big fight (unless you run certain perks). This means an aggro player actually gets punished unless they wait until the endgame chaos or pick their fights extremely carefully. Kind of removes the "Royale" from Battle Royale tbh at least for me
I agree, while it does add a tactical layer, this is not primarily a tactical game and should be about agressive fights and tactical decision making should come when to heal, not can i heal?
This game is FANTASTIC.
Well done video! A few hiccups here and there, but, I love seeing more Spellbreak!
Hi, @a_seagull,
You probably don't know me, but I know you and I've been following you on twitch for quite some time. I just wanted to give you my opinion on this review. First of all, Congrats on 5 years on Twitch and the TF2 stream was hecking awesome(PLZ do more of them in the future). Also your Spellbreak streams were a real treat and I really enjoyed them.
The reviews you're making and really informative and well-made, I do believe they are a perfect guide or rather a "before you buy/download" type of video for people looking into a game.
The only thing that I'm not a big fan of is that they are really clean, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but here they feel almost sterile, dare I say. I really love watching you streams and your personality is the main reason I stick around every midnight to watch you for a bit(thank you kindly for the early streams btw) and I can't escape the feeling that there is no real personality in the reviews.
I'd really love to see more of your review and I'll be eagerly waiting for them, but until then I'll be sticking around, lurking in your chat and having a blast, while doing so.
Sadly I'll have to give these 2 videos only 3 soldier airshots out of 5.
Thank you for being a great source of both useful insight into the industry and great laughs a for one of the best communities out here of the vast untamed fields of the internets. See you tomorrow on twitch and hopefully in the nearest future on the tuber.
Love, lmikel1337.
I really like this game, I don't generally like BRs but my friends didn't get into it. And I'm not sure I want to play solo that much. This is an amazingly well built game, world and a unique aesthetic and combat system. Would love to have a PVE part of the game to play.
Keep informed about the game, they'll release other gamemodes soon enough, it might get your friends in
9v9 clash mode soon
This was a great vid and I think you highlighted the positives and negatives well without devolving into the "X gauntlet is op" tribe
Hope to see you in the hollowlands again soon, come back to tempest! ;)
Actually only BR that I've stucked with. Reminds me of gunz the duel back in the days
Been playing this game for a little while and I’m absolutely living it.
Will we see more content on their channel or are you posting somewhere else?
the thing why im keeping a eye on spellbreak even know i do not like battle royal games is because there expanding into other kinds of game modes and just used the battle royal as a base to test things
Played this back in early alpha, glad they got the janky combat a lot smoother! Might be back to check this out!
welcome back to youtube seagull!!
Wow. Looks awesome
Appreciate the content. Trying Spellbreak was a breath of fresh air for FPS combat, hopefully this video convinces some of my friends to join me
I have never liked BR games, but me and my two buddies I play games with had a really good time with Spellbreak. Definitely worth checking out.
Great video and recommendation, downloading it now since I suck so much at Apex...
When seag edits the videos himself 4:40
seagull's spellbreak streams last month were incredible! he had so many great matches
very fun game, i recommend that everyone give it a try before genshin impact players start to make cringy comparisons between the games
Why compare? Can play both
@@agiliomacabasco4005 You are one of the good ones, not everyone understands this.
I'm on Xbox so I can't play genshin :(
@@wrathofthewitchqueen if you have a good device you can play mobile. I have a switch, and a mac, so I can't play the way I'd want to. However, I still have my phone which works well enough.
Well done!
This is the most refreshing BR I've ever played. I'm a dbz fan, and this is as close as it gets. Love this game
More Spellbreak 🔥
i LOVE this game!
Yo wtf, just randomly wanted to watch spell break and seagul posts on it!? Lets go
I love this game!
Good stuff
Kind of a strange point to add but though I absolutely love this game, if you haven't tried it out yet I'd highly suggest waiting for the 'Prologue' patch to come out first( supposedly at the end of this month).
Not only will it give stuff to work towards but it is supposed to introduce the 9v9 clash mode which will help alot of newer players learn the combat of the game without having to go through the process of looting and running around only to get killed by someone with alot more experience.
Of course if you're determined enough to work hard enough and improve it's fine as is, but I'd say the above applies to most players considering how many have decided to quit the game after getting stomped on.
This game is dope! Really enjoying making gameplays.
My first game in the open beta/alpha, I decided to spectate my killer to see if I could learn anything. He picked up an ice weapon, found the dead center of the circle, and did not move from that spot the rest of the game. Just jumped straight up, and sniped. It was the most BM thing I've ever seen.
Sounds a little bit like a bot to me :D
@@skipp3252 Not like he beelined or anything, he was playing normally and then just made the conscious decision to flex.
MUST PLAY.
"Spinfusor duels in Tribes"
Liked.
You had me the second you said it plays like tribes
I really want melee in this game tbh, and dark & light elements. Scythes would be pretty cool.
love the game
honestly hoping to see more spellbreak from you. game plays just as well on consoles, btw, as somebody who plays on Switch.
He’s back pog
This is great :)
This game was SO underrated. Sad to hear it died. It really should've gotten bigger than it did.
wow, info gull POG
Hey man, I was a big fan in tf2 but had no idea that you played tribes as well! Just heard you say that in this video. My favorite game of all time dude. I did some league play in shifter mod and loved it. If I ever become a millionaire I'm going to buy the rights and make a polished tribes 1 lol
If you're good at shooters in general and you like movements you will be good at this too, these game rewards aim since it's very hard to hit people, I started to play when it was released on console and I'm having a blast, for new players just go with Fire or Stone, then you can move up to other classes like Conduit or Toxicologist, Tempest and Frost are in my opinion the most difficult to use for beginners, but they are fun!
I played closed beta a long time ago and never really touched it again but oh god is it looking good now
Best part: it's F2P but not P2W. You have access to everything by default so you never have to spend a single cent to enjoy everything the game has to offer.
Worst part: no SBMM. The longer this stays out of the game, the worst the new player experience will become over time, and the game will eventually plateau and more rapidly fizzle out.
Otherwise, this is a great game, pretty cool to see that you enjoyed it too!
I love this game so far. I was kinda intimidated by the gameply I saw because the movement is such a big component but it feels really good once you get in game. All the gauntlets feel great too, except stone (maybe if there were more indoor areas). I'm really excited to see where this game goes.
This game rules. Nuff said
Of course he mains pyromancer
So basically, the new and improved Realm Royale.. Cool.
I think this game would work even better in PvE. Like it’s the best battle Royale I’ve played besides Tetris 99, but they should really make a full game with PvE, classic multiplayer, MMO, something else. It’s got great mechanics and visuals.
Random question but what specs do you have where you're playing at over 200 fps for a majority of the game, gonna need to upgrade to those specs
This game gave me a massive appreciation for apex voice lines
FINALLY THE GAME GETS SOME ATTENTION
when the script comes out you know it's good
Shit!
This looks so good!
I think the movement abilities are balanced with the exception of teleport. Flight gets you out of being 3rd partied easily and helps you reposition if your losing a fight. Its very good 1v2. Spring step, shadow step are good 1v1. Dash is absolute trash in my opinion, i dont see any use for it.
Teleport is good for all circumstances. Helps you traverse map, helps you disengage and reposition/dodge in 1v1s. It just depends on what you need. Maybe make dash a 2 part use within 3 seconds and after that goes on cooldown, idk. That might help
bro people are still having spinfusor duels in starseige tribes to this day.
4:44 double voice audio. It would also be nice to have the game sounds quiet in they background so there’s more then just voice (eg record gameplay with only game audio). Use of audio ducking would be awesome. GJ keep it up!
