It says a lot about the state of modern gaming when you see a game that looks this good and your first thought is, "man, this looks too good to be true. I hope this doesn't end up being a shit show."
Cyberpunk and BF2042 traumatized us all.
They advertise "Become an epic dueler!" but they will not include ANY form of multiplayer. Oxymoron gameplay. Besides there is the fact that Warner Bros did Johnny Depp so dirty, this game and anything wb does should be boycotted. They are greedy imps.
@@mistaowickkuh6249 they will definately add leveled enemys to back that claim, and who knows they might add a 1v1 or 2v2 online gamemode just for dueling

Please, Please, PLEASEEEEE take your time with this! The last thing we need for this amazing-looking game, is for it to be a bust. I'm so excited for this, but that excitement can wait if it means we get a finish product, unlike most games these days where they use launch and the first 6 months to a year for the players to be their bug testers. Please do this game justice! Thank you!!
Exactly. It's the exact same thing with the restaurant business. Yeah! This is something unbelievable! I can't even imagine that open world in computer games is possible! That is really fresh and new idea! I'm so much excited of this absolutely new idea in this HP!!! 😍
Very telling how the crowd has changed over the years. Had this been released 5 years ago, ppl would have been hyped up for a trailer like this. Now everyone is cautiously optimistic and 'hmm... let's wait and see how it pans out'.
I mean, its only good. Limits the pre-order bullshit some big companies seemed to abuse, like CD Project Red
Right? I expected the comments to be full of excited but everyone seems a little sus

i hope mods fix this sjw shitfest. I don't want Hogwards to become a diversity bullshit. This is Hogwards, not Uagadou. Why don't they create a game around that school? But all they want is bring unrealism, even for fantasy worlds, just what they did to tolkien world.
@@athletico3548 ??? You do realize that the British empire in its heyday was one of the largest empires in the world, with colonies spanning the length and breadth of the world right? It is 100% accurate to have a diverse representation of different ethnicities.
In addition, Hogwarts is a wizarding school. Skin-based racism doesn't exist in this setting since it's a question about purity of blood (mudblood vs pureblood etc.)
@@athletico3548 there is no sjw shitfest here... in harry potter lore there has always been diversity in terms of races... and they all made sense cos of the colonies of the british empire.. i m on your side if we talk about lord of the rings but harry potter is totally fine with this diversity...
@@azensura ok, so why doesn't Uagodou school have diversity? Because its fucking Uganda! It would be really unrealistic by the same context to bring diversity full of british people to Uganda. Its like a movie about Japan or about India, full of white people. Its nonsense! Its funny you say shhit like that while Netflix and all the game industry does this on purpose. Are you really that dumb, or just pretending this is not political on purpose?
@@carnaxilos dude the harry potter movie had already neat diversity in it, the right amount of diversity. Of course it had black people, asians, and indians,
but wasn't exaggerated, like turning like Africa. Thats why harry potter was so amazing, it didn't felt out of the ordinary. This nowdays is just to fill the black lives matter agenda. Once you get political by purpose, you ruin a ig portion of the content, that is immersion. The most stupid thigs i saw was turning dr manhattan a black dude, having a black sheriff on westworld series, turning a king of vikings a black person (on the new vikings series). The Sandman series had an amazing soundtrack and really enjoyed the history, but their diversity agenda was really annoying and spoiled half of the chapters, one of the most woke series i ever seen. I hate when they shove down our throats that kind of BS.
I love the intricate animations of every single action. Shows the dedication into making the best Harry Potter game universe ever.
This game has so much potential. I want to be able to explore Hogwarts and find all of its secrets, just like in the early 2000s Harry Potter games for PC.

the characters face is giving off heavy andromeda vibes itll be a disappointment
They showed so many cut scenes instead of more of the actual gameplay. Normally when that happens the game play isn’t exciting and it tends to get repetitive. You can see that in the game play they did show. I hope it goes far beyond expectations.
Finally a Harry Potter game that doesn’t look so cheap. This looks great and I have high hopes. Glad they are taking their time to put out a quality game!
Come on, the old HP games are a classic (well some of them)
The classic games need reboot most definitely imagine a reboot of the older game
The problem is that none of it is actual gameplay. No HUD, no curser... I have my doubts...

Just some advice from someone who has been gaming for about 30 years. You should really try and not get so hyped about upcoming video games, or you could be in for a giant disappointment. This is especially true if you are a fan of the source material. The game could end up being a total insult to Harry Potter fans.
The premise of the game sounds amazing though.

Yeah, I'm hoping the NPCs would be more reactive. I don't want Hogwarts to be a big empty castle. unfortunately by what we've seen so far, i don't think that'll be a feature, atleast not on immediate release

Looks pretty cool, but the enemies seem to just be standing around not doing much a lot of the time. Hopefully the combat will be a bit more challenging than what this looks like, and I don't mean just buffing damage numbers.

@@sirderpsalot devs for this game should call up fromsoft for some pointers
@@sirderpsalot Souls-like games aren't that bad imo, i generally think people are just not familiar anymore with being challenged. The general expectation seems to be that you can just press a few buttons and walk through the game.

@@sirderpsalotThe souls games are extremely fair difficulty wise. Hope to see it develop a bit in that direction
Appart from the few reflection glitches here and there, the trailer looks really good and shows a lot of details about the game. My only concern is the kind of clunky looking combat, which I hope to be more fluent in action than how it looks like in the trailer.
Never been more excited and terrified in my life. As a modern gamer, I am sure all feel like this right now.
We all are buddy, we all are... If it looks too good to be true, it's probably because it is.
The game looks promising I just wonder how deep the gameplay will be and how much variety the world will provide. A lot of problem with modern open world games is that they ultimately don't have much going for them outside of the main quest, it'll be side content copied and pasted around the map, the same enemy type over and over again. I think this game will get very dull if there's only dark wizards and goblins to fight, and then maybe magical creatures here and there. If you don't have interesting enemy types that require different approaches, didn't things that can happen on the battlefield to challenge the player, and different types of activities to do in the world it's going to be a forgettable game.
Yeah the language being used here just sounds like every video game that's been over-sold. All this bullshit talk of in-depth learning, cultivating skills and exploring just looks like some scattered collectables and mini-games. the combat just looks like a ranged dodge + strike with a handful of different coloured spells that maybe make the enemy do something silly before dying but will ultimately be put aside in favour of the most powerful "attack" spell which basically just turns the wand into a gun. Honestly this game and this trailer LOOKS amazing but I'm old enough to instantly spot generic over-explained and over-sold trash. The released product will once again be a vague shell of this whimsical explanation.
This is my big concern. Immersiveness and diversivness will make or break this. You want to feel like a true wizard learning and doing things how they wish and not being forced down a particular path all the time to enjoy the world.
@@BrianHallmond I agree, will there be any point and replayability in the different houses other than the common rooms? how many school classes are there and are they optional or do they just play out like linear tutorials? I'm guessing you can pick the order you take the classes but when you've done like 6/6 the main story will take over and you wont need to do any classes again. An in-depth rpg like this would be amazing but I feel like this game will have you just choose the order of some linear gameplay. idky this whole ad is sus to me, it just feels like such an obvious game to be half-arsed and then bomb.
Elden ring fulfilled every criteria you just mentioned and yet you still had idiots complaining that it was "too big". The point is no matter what they do people will still complain especially in this day and age
from the sneak peak it looks like the combat combos are mostly the same (probably because a few combos have proven to be most effective by a large margin)

its not random
Attending classes should be the primary way of developing your character. They can learn new offensive/lessons spells through Defence Against the Dark Arts Lectures and learn to brew potions, use plants etc from other classes. Your character's skill trees should grow based on which classes they attend more.
They can also acquire forbidden spells or knowledge by exploring Hogwarts and finding hidden tomes, journals etc. But using those spells should affect their reputation and make the other students more fearful or hateful towards your character. Using forbidden spells should also make it harder to achieve the positive ending, requiring the character to complete harder missions for the ending or require your character to make greater sacrifices. If the story allows moral choices, using forbidden spells could also close out some of the more positive endings and force your character towards a darker ending.

Great ideas woulda did this game better than the devs tbh ... I dunno how anyone can take this shit seriously knowing you're gonna be a late 5th year student from the get go talk about lazy af
I hope they make the house you get into a sort of personality thing and you can't just choose which one you want. Answering some questions and with each type of answer it helps determine which one you get into. I hope it isn't completely random though because it feels as though that would defeat the purpose of it, while just letting you choose completely ruins the impact of that moment too. Get creative with how they let us pick a house is what I say.
It's probably gonna be a "pick your house" thing tbh. Most people who are interested in this game already know what house they're in anywho lol
I would like the same as you have say JzuzGarcia but in the FAQ from the official website it says that u can chosse in the beginning youre hogwarshouse so it not depends on the personality and what answers you chosse 😢
@@kristianpreschl6915 That's unfortunate, I guess my idea is gone for good. Now all I can hope for is a great release of the game with no (or at least minor) issues!
I'd prefer it be more of a mechanical decision, where when you go to get sorted, the game tells you the different statistical and mechanical effects of each house, and you can choose based on that. OR you can do a personality test thing to be auto sorted. Similar to how in FO3 you take the GOAT and that determines your tagged skills, but you can choose to just select whatever skills you want.
It wouldn't be surprising if they allowed us to pick which house we get sorted into, neither would it be farfetched.
When Harry was sorted into Gryffindor the Sorting Hat almost put him into Slytherin instead due to his connection with Voldemort since it could sense his Voldemort-like personality traits but in the end he wanted to go to Gryffindor and the Sorting Hat could tell so it put him there instead of Slytherin.
So it would make sense to allow the players to choose which house they want to get sorted into.
At the very least I hope they give us two options for this. 1 being you can choose to do a quiz to get sorted into a house depending on your answers (for players that enjoy roleplaying) or 2 you can just straight up choose whichever house you'd like to join. At least this way everyone can be happy with their choices.
Also, let's be real here. Even if they were to make it so that a personality test is the only way to get sorted, people could and would easily restart their games until they got sorted into the house of their choosing.
Extremely excited to play this. Hope it lives up to the expectations.
The ah hello at 1:36 reminds me of the worm from labyrinth

This game looks amazing so far!
This is exactly what Lord of the Rings needs! I still haven’t played a Lord of the Rings game as good as The Third Age!
Lotr needs a new MMO. Nothing else could do it justice. It's very hard to make a game with a plot following the main 3 books theme. It would be very repetitive and leave you with no freedom of choice. However, MIddle-earth has enough content for a big new mmo. (yes i know lotro is a thing but it's so outdated and very few play it).
I love Middle Earth and besides LOTRO being a very good yet outdated way to Middle Earth, is true that there are no games that really do justice to the potential Middle Earth as a world has. Maybe the RTS Battle for Middle Earth can be another good one, yet also outdated. I'm hoping we get a new LOTR mmo soon, or a game set in the first age, that'd be so cool.
@@TBPetitP Ive been saying they need a new RTS LOTR... But what about an isometric Turn based game? would be a cool concept considering the recent popularity of the genre
@@puszaz5389 Something made by Larian, I would take nothing less. The creators of Divinity 2, an RPG I hold very close to my heart, would do it absolute justice. They really love fantasies and RPGs, and to be able to work on the grandad of all modern fantasy would imho be something they'd be excited and put effort in.

Based on what CDPR delivered and pretty much any AAA major release from the last decade, all that skepticism and "'ill wait till I see the release" attitude is very reassuring. This game has a lot to prove
This game has nothing to prove, none of them have. People are just so insanely craved for entertainment now that they set standards based on their own view instead of what is presented to them. Hype is the worst thing that has ever happened to movies and games. Being disappointed is fine, happens with everything out of interest but being angry? Switch your interest/hobbis mate. Can't imagine being angry, actually angry at new things presented to you. Nothing is ruined, nothing is changed, it's just a new take or try. See you are basing your initial judgement of this trailer of an entirely different game alltogether. Why?
@@Gnossiene369 chill out I never even mentionned hype. No one's angry, more people see the flaws of the AAA industry and have realised that the quality shown through marketing rarely reflect the final product or is an outright lie. Being upset from that is valid for any product/service relying on marketing. Expecting any product to live up to its showcase is a good thing. Beside how is ranting on a post condoning responsible consumer behaviour not being irationnaly triggered?

Cyberpunk exceeded my expectations
I really hope they actually deliver on the roleplaying aspect of the game to make a character ones own, with choices and desicsions that actually matter in the main story. I'm a bit concerned regarding the main story since it seems to be about the goblin rebellion they were talking about. The goblins must be rebelling against something. Is it wizards? Did something happen? Can the players side with the goblins if the player finds their arguments valid? Is it morally gray? I really hope they get this right and that the player can actually take a side in this story other than what the school and teachers tell them to.
I want an evil route too omg! xD Let us be friends with the bully characters too that would be so cool
This, I really wish games did this a lot more so you had more control on how the story ends. A true ending is cool and all, but with a world like Harry Potter there are just so many different routes people can take like what we saw in the books/movies.
they wont go evil route. they never do in games. your against them and you have to deal with that. and i hate companies that dont allow that. but hey if they do have that option thats what im doing cuz im bored of im the good guy and everything is black and white.

This game looks like it's in good hands. It was thoughtfully crafted for sure. It's gonna have a linear mission style with an open living world touch. As long as it controls smoothly and isn't buggy, I'll play it.
hopefully its not like jedi fallen order where all you do is puzzles
@@borris3768 I'm mad you just brought back those memories. They were buried soooooooo deep lol.
You say that now. Just wait until they add an in-game store using real money and watch how fast your opinion changes
@@fatbongripz4207 how would that even work in this game? Unless they're planning an online arena style or coop mission.
@@brodiethegoaty849 those puzzles ruined the game for me
I wish they could introduce a "moral system"-like gameplay, for example: if you use "bad" spells too much, the MC will be feared or hated by the students, or if use forbidden spells, the teachers will seal your magic or expel you, giving a chance to become a "Death Eater", something like that.
That would be dope! Become the Voldemort of your own time! Basically become so powerful that you can live for centuries like Nicolas Flamel. Go underground for awhile until Voldy shows up only for you to reemerge and take him out so you can steal his empire out from under him!
there are couple of things that would be good to add, but all I want to do is hanging around Helena Ravenclaw
half of the player base will be a "death eater" then

Sweet Lord. If the game plays half as good as this trailer, its going to be a blast !! im amazed by the visuals the world environment, playstyle everything looks like the experience might bring some much needed novelty to the open world rpg genre.
It won't.
This industry must have knocked your bar pretty low because I definitely wouldn't be impressed with half as good as what's shown here, I'd rather they actually give us the full game that they're advertising for once. Also I'd use 'rpg' lightly, not every game with skill trees and outfits is an rpg. Unless you can replay this game with a completely different build and make different choices and play/fight differently then it really isnt an rpg. it'll probably just be an action adventure game with ranged combat (spells) and gadgets (potions n shit) and it'll act like you have lots of deep choices and tactical decisions to make when really there isn't much variety.
As good as the trailer? Did you not see the glitches on the windows at 2:03? If thats them showing off the game then there will plenty more hidden or that isn't shown. I know I'm knit picking but if something looks too good to be true it always is.
? Frame rate drops. Object glitches. NPC glitches. Clipping errors... This demo is RIFE with problems, I cannot fathom how you're this excited.
cause it has to at minimum be half as good allot of AAA games are tripping on that hurdle.
I mean it does look very good. Just one thing i'm a bit concerned of: I hope it isn't too combat based. Would like to see a healthy balance between combat, exploring, puzzle type stuff. Also the combats shown here do look kind of repetitive. Bit like Assassins Creed where just end up spamming the same stuff over and over while the enemies just line up

I hope they can deliver, Ive loved the Harry Potter books and world my whole life, Id like to see this be one of the games that changes the direction that gaming is going in. With that being said, I hate to say that I'm actually scared to buy it in fear that Ill get my hopes up and they will disappoint. What a sad world we live in that you feel scared to buy a video game because they've been so bad over the years.
I really like the castle design of this one, especially the walls around it.

Not even a huge harry potter fan but this game looks legit solid
Would love it if they allow fighting to extend pass a restricted area, like stumbling into different terrain. Seems to be a perfect fit for this game.
