Over the last month, I challenged 3D artists with the Alternate Realities CG challange. I provided an animation for everyone to work from, and the results were stunning. 2,400 artists delivered, the top 100 were chosen for this montage, and 5 of them walked away with insane prizes from Rokoko, Wacom, Quixel, PNY and Aftershokz (I personally reached out to my favorite companies in order to give away the tools I use every day.)

Because it’s not a matter of the effort put into it, it’s the idea, boss baby was centered around a baby who’s also really smart, because of this, the animation has to reflect the childish adventures in it, to make it better for the children audience. In animating a movie, the animation has to fit the movie itself, These are amazing, talented productions though, yeah

Something about the each person walking and persevering just stood out so much, I would say it was heart warming and inspiring. Today when I was at a red light, I looked over and saw an elderly homeless man in the EXACT same position while he was pushing a shopping cart. So scarily similar even his joints had an unnatural way of moving, as he was struggling. Each piece of art in this video was beautiful and I hope everybody keeps on keeping on.

@@lucbloom I’d say for some of them, “at its peak” is fair. They have such a limited amount of time, and such specific conditions to meet, yet some of the, have built up entire worlds and characters that you can easily understand at a glance. Obviously you can’t go in depth with a lot of them, but you can still get plenty of detail.
“Show don’t tell” is such an important principle with storytelling, and this does exactly that.

Depends on the person and the performance of their machine. Some opt to build their own materials (textures) while others choose to use purchased packs. Same is true for the environmental lighting. Some will properly retopologize while others decimate. Some won't dare sacrifice realism for render times while others choose to eliminate it all together and go with cartoon type shaders and simple lighting. So on and so forth. One could accomplish what is requested in as little as 10 hours if it's not a "scratch build" - meaning that models and material are already available and would provide no more than a weeks work (+/-50 hours) to complete a task such as this from scratch.
