The times when deflecting in front of a hooked target was never seen before and big brain.
I remember how seagull talked about how much of a different experience OW was when most of high ranked people sucked at it but some people learned much more quickly like seagull.
So for him he was playing against lots of total bots for a while.

Still trying to put out a video every week in a similar style to this one about various gaming topics... I've been enjoying OW a LOT this patch and here we are. I'd love to cover more about OW2 content but we have absolutely no idea what that is (and probably won't have any info until blizzconline in late Feb). Fortunately we have a lot of games to play this year!

One thing I always liked about you was your analysis of the game. You have some very good takes, and it's nice to hear your perspective. With Overwatch and other stuff too. I think this type of content suits you very well, and would definitely look forward to watching similar videos about other topics.
The only thing I suggest would be to increase editing quality (or move to a podcast format, but your audience is on RUclips/Twitch). So I'd suggest getting an editor if finances allow it.

I feel like whenever people start having fun with the game, Blizzard comes along with something that quickly ruins it. In a way the wait for OW2 is a blessing in disguise because they aren't doing too much radical with the game in the meantime, so let's hope they realize what they've got going here and don't screw it up.
I was thinking the exact same thing, when seagull opened the video with ''The game is very balanced right now''. How long until they ruin it with either a balance patch or new hero (which won't be until OW2, I know.)
Bro, as much as I admit that they had some serious missteps with cc and power creep, It was their acknowledgment of a problem and really stepping up how fast they update the game to get it in a good spot.

@@kingdancekiller In the past, time after time, they completely ruin any balance the game had, and won't change it for months on end. You're absolutely right though. Recently they've been doing a great job and I hope this trend continues.
i see pattern in Online Games, but if you all look deep, you will see that if Developer planning or making New Skin for "some heroes", that "some heroes" will get Buff so everybody will playing and probably will paying for the skin because its OP heroes, for example, just look at DVA, he got 2 new legendary skin after she got buffed 😂 This is why all Online Games always make Update for Buff and Nerf

I remember the first time Ana was nerfed in Season 3 (I think) there was a brief period where everyone was playing every character because no one knew the new meta yet. That was the most fun I've ever had in the game. Every game had a completely different comp and it felt so fresh
I think oyu mean buffed. Ana was released on the last week of season 1(blizzard REALLY needs to stop doing this) and she saw like 0 play until Star_ and Ryo got a lot of support from the community. They buffed her quite a bit in I think it was season 3 because of her low pick/winrates, only for it to be a terrible idea because she had ana amazing kit that has for the most part gone unchanged since and became one of hte most played supports. to drop an old Jeff Kap quote: We were just playing them wrong.

We can manage. The only thing I remember him for was criticizing random viewers on stream saying "if you are good you will climb" in a 6v6 game designed around teamwork with slow time to kill. Then seagull would go to matchmaking and lose without pro teamates around him.

I definitely agree, especially as a Tank. I have never felt more flexible in my role than on the recent patch.

I feel like the shield are a little bit too weak to use them, but honestly im not good with them anyway
The only thing I hate about the current state of tanks is the lack of more tank characters. In fact, as a flex player, I feel like they need more supports too. Move some damage chars around like Doom and Mei to tank and Sym and Sombra to support for example.
@@AverageCho Agreed, on all points. And, there still is a little bit of the maintank/offtank split going on, but at least it's no longer locked into specific pairs of Main/Off tanks. That said, the tank role has been such a nightmare for so long, I'm just giddy for the improvements it's received. Hopefully OW2 improves things even more.
i feel like the major key point is quality over quantity. After echo released they were able to focus all their energy on balance and improving whats already here. Also i have a theory that OW2 has been close to completed for months now, and they are just waiting for Nov/Dec to launch to get all the ps5/christmas sales. So they were able to move a lot of talented Devs back to OW1. but that's totally me guessing based off the quality of patches recently.
The way I see it, if they were saving OW2 for console releases a couple months from now, we would be seeing a spectacular amount of marketing for it. OW1 was as successful as it was because of the cinematics and origin stories released in the many months leading up to the game's released. To spontaneously release its sequel, which intends to deliver on the deep characters promised by the first game's marketing, without any build up seems both foolish and like a departure from established, successful strategies.
Given that the game is not currently having the shit marketted out of it, I don't think that OW2 will release until well into 2021, if not 2022. Unfortunately, this means that it will miss the release of the PS5 and the XBox Series. But on the flip side, Blizzard will have a chance to market all of the amazing things that OW2 will bring to the table.
In addition, the amount of info we have been given on OW2 was released preemptively. The second half of the reveal trailer appeared rushed and unfinished. This is because the announcement was preemptively rushed out in order to distract people from the controversy surrounding Blizzard's support of China during the Hong Kong protests. The intended marketing strategy, and the wiser marketing strategy, was probably to release a more fully developed reveal trailer later on, before regularly revealing new characters, gameplay elements, and story pieces over a period of time leading up to the game's release. Given the phenomenal job done on OW1, I have to doubt that the strategy of "release a reveal trailer, then keep everybody in the dark for a year or more" was the original intention.

Baptiste got damage, healing and ultimate buffed, McCree got 225hp, Mei got buffed, D.Va got more armor, Hanzo's Storm Arrows got buffed, Ashe's ttk got reduced, D.Va's Remech got buffed, Orisa got buffed, Reinhardt's damage was increased, Roadhog's damage was increased, it goes on.

When he says the pros will find a way to "break the game" I mean look at the Overwatch League Grand Finals, they were all playing comps with the characters with the highest ceiling and it was pretty much just whoever was the better player was winning the duels, it was great to watch the pick meta
what does the characters with the highest "ceiling" mean lol. it was a pick potential heavy meta, hog double sniper and mercy for the rez. its litteraly who wins 1 shot kill duels, thats the meta in owl. owl is also like 2-3 patches behind, hog wouldn't be as strong in live.
They need to make balance changes that aren't based entirely on pro league

I absolutely agree. I hadn' played the game in years but I kept in touch with the content and stuff and I knew the recent patches were going in the right direction. Picked it up again a few weeks ago, dropped to fucking gold though my highest rank was diamond back then and I'm still having fun, in fucking gold.

Dang. Makes me happy to see this title. As someone who played this game very religiously right up until Brigitte I think I’ll give this game a second go. Valorant and Warzone are honestly big bores at this point and Overwatch in a decent state would bring me nothing but joy.
if you haven't played since brig then very important things to watch out for - bap immortality field is strong target it to the best of your ability until it breaks, nanoblade is still strong cc the genji to oblivion, and there are now 3 different tanks that can harass your backline ball, dva, and winston, along with genji, tracer, echo, and doom. dives are strong unless you know the counterplay. brig isn't invincible to 1v1 anymore, sigma hurts bad in 1v1s and soldier is going to get played a lot because of his recent buffs. anything else i missed guys?

It's great to see you geiunley enjoying game again! I haven't played it as much as you and I'm a tank main. But I have totally that the characters depend much more on the map! I have seen a ton of crazy tank comps and I have also been really enjoying it!

I’ve been watching since the beta, have a Dallas fuel seagull Jersey, and this is the first video I have watched after like a year or 2 of barely watching. And I enjoyed it! Maybe I’ll even pick overwatch up myself again...
If they did this a while ago it would've made me happy. After enduring through some of the least enjoyable metas and seasons ever, I just can't bring myself to support or even play this game in any capacity. Glad to see someone's enjoying it though

Great video and I completely agree. I've been having more fun in ow than I have since launch. As a support main it has been tough the last 2 years with all the dps power creep but now I feel impactful again. Also finally switched from console to PC! Good to see my favorite bird enjoying the game again.

I've loved your OW Gameplay since the very beginning but ended up quitting a few years ago because of poor connectivity and a bad piece of hardware that I've never upgraded. I've played the game once in a blue moon, but it's good to hear your current state of the game. I lookforward to more of your vids and to OW 2 when that happens.

I agree, without thinking about it directly, it has felt like team comps have been so varied that damn near any combo works pretty well--which makes it almost feel like a different game
I've really enjoyed random heroes lately after not playing for like more than a year. the tanks feel like actual tanks instead of sole shield carriers, and healers now also feel like they have a fighting change when being dove upon

That's honestly just how Bastion is designed. If you do anything more for him, he becomes an overpowered hybrid of Junkrat and Soldier.
Nap enabled spam and double shield. Not goats , goats it’s about positioning and cool down management. Not shooting at shields waiting for widow to gets pick.

ive always just played who im personally good at on overwatch, and this patch has really, really helped me enjoy it more, as that is the meta right now. Ive never strongly stuck to a meta, because its not what i like to do.

This is so funny when you watch it 6 months later and realise how quick blizzard can fuck their game up. Like seriusly it feels like the game is always one dumb patch away from being garbage everyday. One day you are having fun playing against dive, Rein zarya and other mechanically interesting comps and the the next its rigt back to orisa, sigma, moira and baptiste comps where you literally spend more time shooting at shields and imortality fields than actual flesh.

I haven't been actively playing Overwatch since the summer event, I was absent from the game for 2 months. I came back to it with the Halloween event and I gotta say, it feels so refreshing. I'm loving every hero (except Moira because I just don't like anything about her) and it feels rewarding to actually have skill in the game.

As a tf2 player, I honestly hope overwatch gets the good treatment it deserves and shines once more. That way at least one community can be happy and thrive and not be ignored lol.

The balance feels really good atm but I can’t help but feel that they are going to mess it up either before or with the OW2 launch
I will note that ball feels weird as he doesn’t seem to have many neutral dps matchups. Like...either you run into a mei/sombra/reaper that instawrecks you, or you run into something like a 76 or a widow that has next to no counterplay vs a decent ball
@@nerdherder9340 i prefer a character to be like that than be too strong or too weak, also thats the nature of ball. Anyway nobody should expect perfect balance at the start of ow2 because of new charactera being released, just enjoy the refresh :)
Nils Kavanagh i get what you’re saying about it being better than imbalance. I guess a better way of saying it is that it feels like there’s little capacity for the outplay that happens in fairly neutral matchups.
Like, there’s not much a ball can do vs a sombra and there’s not much a soldier can do against a ball.
@@nerdherder9340 I'm a ball main and I find myself running into sombra permanently. It is ok though because most of the time the person who is playing sombra doesn't know how to play her, they just expect to win because they're playing a counter to ball. It's often detrimental to the opposing team because they have somebody who doesn't know how to play that hero. So basically what I'm saying is that there is a lot of counterplay in the counter itself.
