Yeah i was so hoping she would be a support, with more dps in the game than tanks and supports combined..
I’d love a support that’s got like a vision impair ability and gives temporary barrier/damage reduction with heals. Like a soft CC, not stun.
But nah, just make another dps that seems busted. We loved all new supports besides Brig. We loved most of the new tanks, Sigma only potential outlier. But like dps, we got so many annoying things coming out.

Jeff said that Echo has one of the slowest ults in the game. That might be true on paper. But with how much damage she can deal, her ult feels like it charges extremely fast. Too fast even.

There was a fix on a previous PTR for this but it didn't go through for some reason.

Most likely because the Echo Ult is using character data from that player and if it's changed, it might break the game since that Data is no longer available.

At this point there's no excuse for the team saying her momentum hopping is unintended or wasn't tested for. That tech is ancient on heroes like Lucio/Winston/Rein.
It's just really hard to patch out without making a bunch of characters feel worse in normal play.

The problem is that the game could honestly use a character like Echo with really anti-tank and anti-barrier capabilities, but because she's SO much more ridiculous than other characters at it, she's going to become another must-pick hero. Every time Blizzard adds a new character, they are usually absurd must-picks right out of the gate, until they get balanced later on.
She should have been geared toward support anyway, they dropped several balls on this one.

@@mylucidadventures6540 Her sticky bombs are like a miniature version of Tracer's ult on a 6 second cooldown. She's busted.
But her whole concept is she's every hero. I think empirically this is the most powerful hero in the game because she is OVERWATCH. Anything the game can do she can do better. The only other hero that comes close to this level of S tier is Sombra because she is the black hole that destroys every other ability. It makes sense they waited until the last(?) hero of original OW the most powerful one. Even other heros released in the future cannot be this as powerful, because those heros will also be in Echo.
I'm not saying don't balance her so the numbers add up. Obviously the multi-ult thing is insane, I think even 1 ult per life would be more than useful.
If this is gonna be the most powerful hero in OW, I guess that's the way it's gonna be. This is what it's all been leading up toward. I'm hopeful future heros will add even more dynamics to this insane web of heroes, perhaps more straightforward hero designs with the occasional game changer, as long as it's still interesting/fun/balanced to play.
Amidst Tank and/or Barrier destroyers like: Mei, Reaper, Sombra, McCree, 76, Pharah. Alongside Stuns, boops and debuffs from supports like: Ana, Zen, Lucio, Brig (Not mentioning that of DPS or other Tanks like RoadHog). Alongside recent Barrier nerfs.
The game did not need another Anti-Tank, anti-barrier hero. At all.

Her ult charge rate while in Duplicate is OP especially with the "extra life" thing. Duplicate should just switch you to the enemy with their ult ready, but not be able to charge more.
Or limit the duration of duplicate to 10 or even 8 seconds

Forget Zen, imagine Mei blizzard + 2 Echo blizzards. Imagine Sombra. No matter how much I love playing her, having 2 within 15 seconds is dumb. And 2 is definitely doable.
Andrew Gan its not doable though. If you’ve played in an actual match you’d find that getting one is sometime hard enough with sombra, especially healers. With healers like lucid its almost impossible to get two ults in a regular scenario. People just see practice range and never actually look at real gameplay

ult charge while duplicated will be reduced forsure.
Should make it so you can't ult the same enemy within a set time frame, can't ult an enemy back to back or within 3 minutes or something. So they can't just repeatedly pick the same champ

She's basically the dream for all true flex players but a nightmare for all and the integrity of the game if she'll stay like this.
Wasn't the whole point of role lock and hero ban to prevent flex players and goats? Her role just doesn't make sense in my opinion since she adds to the problem not to mention even longer dps queues.

I don't know where you get that flexing in the middle of the game id bad.. hell that was like one of the key components of overwatch back then.. to flex things around and adapt to whatever the enemy has and a vise versa but then GOATS ruined mid game flexing..
Flexing is still alive though but obviously you can't flex to different roles lessening the flexibility of the team.. it had to be done though even though they could've just ban or outright delete Brigitte.
Also 2 2 2 lock basically supports one trcking imo and if the person sucks at that role you can't do anything.. sure 2 2 2 lock was needed to kill GOATS but they never really consider about how it would impact people trying to get out of plat maybe even diamond and below
@@FugiYo I word it a bit wrong. I don't mean that flexing in a middle of the game is bad. I mean that now ECHO can flex outside the role lock 2-2-2. If Echo can only mimic DPS than I'm fine with that. But because she can mimic Tanks and Healers, it just defeats the whole purpose of 2-2-2 role lock. I'm okay with flexing but why have 2-2-2 when you have a Hero who no longer obeys this rule. I don't know, it's just my opinion.

I mean honestly they might've lost their minds with Echo.. yeah the ult duration is short but people could kill faster and if the player is good enough could literally spam 2 ults no problem like reins or any instant ult activation heroes. She'll either be reworked which I doubt nerfed which I hope or to save her "uniqueness" nerf everyone's ult charge again or whatever.

How this made it past in house testing either tells me that Activision Blizzard doesn't care about balancing the heroes themselves in the lead up to Overwatch 2 or they hope the stir caused by releasing a broken character will bring back curious players.

Excellent mobility, including flight which is vertical and horizontal movement, with short cooldown, explosives and single burst fire which does IINSANE damage and a Q that basically lets you choose a hero, ult multiple times if its a tank, and completely switch a fight by yourself, imagine being lucio and how many fuckin beats you could drop

after 2 years of leaving overwatch, I decided to come back and give overwatch another chance, I started watching over-analyze again and more. looks like jeff wants to make this game as unfun as possible. I'm actually really sad leaving this game twice again. whats also is funny is that if they add these super op heroes in like those seasonal limited games with new game modes i don't think anybody would mind, the game still would be refreshing, not as frustrating and still feeling new with the new games modes and heroes like this
I gave it another chance after leaving as well. The game just isn’t fun any longer, and feels limiting. As well as considering there really isn’t much to do other than competitive PVP matches.
Just when I thought about coming back to OW I see the Devs release Another busted character... They never learn.

The exact same happened to Doomfist and Sombra before their buffs, i wouldn't be suprised with it also happened to Echo.
Although yeah that fast ultimate gain really is absurd, IMO they should limit to only 1 per duplicate
She's got 200hp, a small hitbox, a good amount of movement, and her fast charging ultimate heals her to full hp twice (at the beginning and end). All that plus super high damage is definitely not a glass cannon.

Her dmg is definitely gonna get adjusted. But as she had no real escape, stun or CC and is just pure dmg like Soldier or a Doomfist without shield generation, I think over all they knocked it out of the park with her.

@@yoloman3607 200 actually. 50 on anything above half health. Also a 20 meter range. It's practically useless on anything above half health.
She might have a little too high damage for her normal loop, but considering she has absoultely zero sustain, I think people just need to not be afraid of her and shoot her down. CC is also a pretty hard counter, and she looks like she's got a pretty decently high skill floor anyways. Otherwise, she looks hella fluid and fun.

I would make it where echo have a super fast ult slower than tracer but she's only allowed one ult from the copy hero and it charges a bit slower she her gameplay is mostly about picking the enemy hero at for the right needs for the fight for example to use beat or nano, or maybe torb ult or my favorite as ball to stalls
It's interesting to me how a lot of the newer heroes in Overwatch seem to be inspired by newer heroes being released for SMITE. Ash's alt and her kit is really similar to Hera in SMITE (the alt is the exact same), and now, Echo entire kit and ult is eerily similar to The Morrigan. I'm not knocking it, I think it's interesting to track where Overwatch is grabbing inspiration from for a hero shooter versus a MOBA.
I kind of think Echo should have been able to be selected as either a Tank, Damage, or Support and her kit changes depending on which role they're in. Her abilities are definitely cool and definitely going to be nerf'd sooner rather than later, but it strikes me as a big missed opportunity to do something interesting, rather than just kind of more of the same "which box does this hero go into" design.

There’s an infinite flight trick you can do if you go straight up with her flight and then immediately start gliding. You’ll be able to fly again before you’re on the ground
I say increase the amount of time you can copy a hero for as long as you want, but you're only allowed to use their ultimate once. Maybe you can also decrease the charge rate to 300%. 15 seconds feels like hardly anything.
In ptr, nothing is broken, everything is permitted.

Yeah exactly. That was the case with every single character. Blizz does this intentionally to hype the character up, and then promptly nerf them to their actually balanced state. They perfectly know that she's too broken.
Tune damage a bit, especially the beam, maybe tune the splash radius of her alt fire and her main kit is fine. It’s just the ult that looks busted. Being able to build 2+ ults in that time seems so overkill. Just by eyeballing it, I can probably EMP with an Echo Sombra 3 times easily. You thought it was annoying already? Or 3+ nanos in 1 fight, 2+ Mei blizzards.
Her ult is the main problem. Because you know the OW community hates certain ults, doubling it would make the game even worse, tripling would make it unplayable.
Orixa the only new heroes broken on release were brig and doom fist. And doom was broken just because he had unintentional bugs. Also Sigma wasn’t broken, shield meta was broken.

Regardless of many nerfs, echo will be a massive game changer as now teams would have to adapt tactics that also cater to her duplicate ability.... A team built in a way that has good dps but also its own counters.

Agreed. I had to uninstall. I don't have even close to the same skill level as most players. I know it isn't all about winning, but when you seem to lose 75% of your games it's just not fun anymore. I'll wait for OW2 to eventually come out with more focus on PvE so I can enjoy the characters properly again.
@Jay Hart Why uninstall? You paid for the game. I play every day and not a single match in PVP. There are bot matches, there are missions, there are custom games of parkour, finding places and getting to the checkpoint past 6 bot bastions. You should try all these. Many people dislike PVP, that's why Bliz wanna add more PVE. Right now we have all 3 missions back + challenges, you know? Like nullsector but on expert and every time you kill a bot it drops lava Torb style. Hard. Or Retribution but only headshots register damage. A bit easier, but still forced on expert.
I have only 2 matches in PVP done. First - when I was lvl 11, barely trying the game. I was put with same noobs vs 6 golden frames. 0 chance. After that I never wanted to try it again. So when I was experienced I gave it one more time. Same shit, only now it was platinum top lvl frames. So yeah, I say FK this, never ever. PVP is cancer. =)

Words cannot describe how happy I feel when I see my TF2 heroes being huge Overwatch content creators. Even though I don't like Overwatch as much anymore I really appreciate that people like you, Harbleu and even Mangachu are growing daily not being shackled by an amazing game with poor dev support.
Imo I'd rather have devs who do too little than too much. Most games are fine if left without changes, the devs ruined overwatch
@@lukasg4807 Oh I definetely agree. The poor dev support TF2 had was specifically competitive-wise. Valve never really cared about TF2's competitive scene even if it still holds as one of the highest skill ceiling FPS games alongside Quake and others.

If you've played Paladins before you've pretty much already played her. Most of her abilities are exactly like Omani's except her ultimate, which is pretty cool overall

Role queue was a stab in the back, now the devs are really just twisting it in there.
i have since role queue played mostly tank and support a few times dps, (shortest queue possible)
everyone better enjoy the dps queue. it will be longer with fewer tanks
man they oughta revert SOME of the nerfs to shields. With Echo's E shield heroes will be even weaker than they are now

Don't see how it could be a support? Change her right click to a small amount of explosive damage, but bursts for healing ( more if contact with a friendly ). Left click remains her mercy pistol/genji blast things. E is a burst heal that does reduced damage and penetrates shields like a worse version of moira's ult, because she's busted already so why not. Ult, creates a decloy of your friendly target with more health and dealing reduced damage that will attempt to weak ult after being summoned ( this way it pulls attention potentially from the target you're attempting to peel for ). Idk, could probably put more thought into it, but it seems like an adaptable enough kit in even its current state.
Heck, could even make her right click a switch like lucios switch... alternating her right click fire between dealing damage and healing, same with her e. It switches her kit. She's a robot, no reason she can't be 'adaptable'. Then she also fits in with the various hybrid supports, and it justifies her doing much less damage.

Use ultimate on a enemy lucio and then u got 2 sound barriers at the same time for your team if your team has a lucio as well

I stopped playing overwatch when they added the character type queing. Games took way too long to get into, discouraged me from playing the game at all.

I haven't been on overwatch for about 9 months since last week and Iegit I wondered years b4 echo's arrival when I was dreaming if they make a hero who's ult was to copy anyone's ult but then I thought this hero would be a broken game changer they would have to make ban picks in comp. Coming back and seeing this echo I was shocked.
