What made me fall in love with OWL was the first game between Seoul Dynasty and Dallas Fuel and seeing the level of coordination. The map was Temple of Anubis and Dallas was defending point A. They showed a over the top view of the fight and Seoul surrounds Dallas and then sudden collapses of them from all sides obliterating them.
It was the first time I've seen that level of coordination.
Didn't miss a game after that. And was able to go to the Inaugural Grand Championship in New York with my friends.

Been following the league since day one, and I was fortunate enough that I was able to go to Grand Finals in Toronto this year. While it may not have been the biggest or most intense Grand Finals, it was by far the most emotional. Everyone there kinda knew it was likely to be the last one, but dammit we made the most of it. This Grand Finals felt like one last hurrah, one more trip 'round the sun.
Soe's speech summed it up perfectly just how all of us felt. It was a dream and I'm glad I got to be there to witness it. Getting to see one of my all time favourite players turned caster Custa (he even signed my old-school Valiant colour scheme shoe), being able to meet so many people from the Toronto Defiant and the other teams that made it to Finals, and all the amazing people from Discord servers that travelled from all over the world to come support their teams. We've all made lots of friends along the way and I'm glad I got to meet all these amazing people before it has inevitably come to an end.

He wasn't in the owl for too long but to me and to many other people he was definitely the best support we've ever seen. With that announcement yesterday I feel owl will still be around but different than the last 6 years so this is an end to this era of OWL

Could you explain what's happening with OWL I never understood why so many are saying RIP I'm kinda in the dark about this?😅

@@mr.exquisitecheese7764 well blizzard is offering each team 6 million dollars to opt out since realistically no one is making much of a profit and after the grand finals they made a Tribute video and a speech about and they announced the day after the grand Finals they announced to Revamp Overwatch League so it’s gonna be Overwatch League but in a different form so it’s gonna be OWL still because Overwatch esports but completely different compared to the past 6 years

@@mr.exquisitecheese7764 They're most likely moving to a major and minor tournament model with online leagues like most other E-sports as opposed to the contract and weekly LAN model reminiscent of pro-sports.

Second year of University, I had a lot of regrets at the time but playing Overwatch, trying to be the best and having the time of my life wasn't one of them. I will probably never feel that way about a game ever again. This game was my life for almost 2 years and although it is a shell of what it had the potential to become, it is still my favourite game of all time. Watching OWL and trying to be SBB will never be a negative memory haha

It might be the end of OWL, but OW esports' gonna come back stronger. No matter what happens next, the community will always be there. Thank you OWL for the amazing memories.
