probably a typo, but the weapon on the colossus bombard doesnt have the indirect keyword :(
Hopefully they fix this and the Krieg medi-pack soon.
Thanks for the pick up here, totally missed that assuming a Mortar would be indirect!
Something to note about the colussus bombard, the anti vehicle/monster 5+ will trigger dev wounds on 5+.
Got it, thanks for that!
Thanks. Didn't think about the advantage of artillery not being vehicles for secondaries.
Hell yeah, love your review content.
Thanks Andrew!
Basilisks are made for gsc, the -2 debuff to m,a and ch is great for protecting the resurrecting blips
Remember, the "Anti-" keyword means thay if you roll the specified number to wound against the specified target, those wounds are CRITICAL so you get those Dev wounds on 5+ with the Colossus
Great review and analysis. I might try and magnetise the Earthshaker Cannon's from my Basilisk and kit bash a carriage. The Bombard Field Gun should have been given the Earthshakers profile IMHO. 😀
Would make for a cool kitbash project for sure!
Really great video. Love stuff like this! Would be interested to see a baneblade breakdown. I need to binge your breakdown of the Malcador tanks first though 😅
My pleasure! I'm yet to play a baneblade in 10e and may try on Monday b4 doing a titanic video
While its not really different from a HWT I feel like the Honorable mention for this discussion should be a x18 Infantry Squad with a Platoon Command Squad. For 190pts you have a x3 Mortar unit hidden in a bunch of bodies for durability and comes with a order ready to go if needed. If you want to make the mortars worth their bang for their buck spend 20pts more for Drill Commander so those 3 mortars have lethal hits on 5+ as they score criticals on 5s if they remain stationary making them hit almost as hard as 6 mortars into tough targets.
attach a castellen for an extra 50pts and every weapon gets sustained hits on a 5+ as well
This is a great idea and a strong way to take advantage of drill commander. A possible combo would be Lord Solar, a command squad and the 2 infantry squads with the 3 mortars amongst them. That way Lord Solar's order can be extended 24" + 3 mortars critical hits on 5+ and a crap ton of bodies to push around as well
Great work @Guardsman Hanan. Subscribed. Better and far more insightful analysis than Mordian Glory dumpster fire
Thanks dude, what's wrong with mordian glory? I honestly don't watch his videoes nor many other waehammer youtubers weirdly
@@GuardsmanHanan he’s just crass and his batrep opponents are childish and annoying. Any analysis is purely personal anecdotes rather than your stats based deep dives
Ah cool, I guess his style isn't popular with everybody. Same could he said for mine too!
So the secret sauce of the Earthshaker carriage is because of that infantry keyword, you can also use Suppression fire for 1 CP to put even more debuffs onto an infantry target
Great point!
Basilisk and Earth Shaker Carriages are S tier right now for Guard. With Scout Sentinels included theyre amazing (i mean all indirect fire guns are ha) but the fact you can just keep ur oppenent hemmed in their half while your infranty (preferably 3-4 dkok 20 man blobs with marshals) running around and getting objectives.
Manticores are sick af as well. But i find earthshaker rounds to be amazing :)
Great vid
Nice one! Yah agreed, after a couple more games I found I could have really used the -2 movement penalty to delay stabby melee blobs.
Earthshaker battery is definitely best. Its points cost is incredibly efficient and escaped relatively unhurt from the points increases last week. Its good alone for the cheap access to -2 move, advance and charge ability.
Too right, if I had access to a 3d printer or recast, I'd field 3 of them!
The manticore is definitely the best all rounder IMO. S10 so it wounds a lot of vehicles in the game on 3s, and wojnds most heavy infantry on 2s. Plus with ap2 itll knock those heavy infantry onto their inevitable 4+ invuln, and flat 3 damage means you'll oivk uo a dude every time they fail one of those saves, barring any FNP shenanigans. Plus, since we're currently in the age of herohammer with characters leading big 10 man blocks of terminators or custodian guard, the manticore will get full hit rerolls and those extra shots from blast so into its ideal target thats d6+3 shots.
Couple this with the regimental attache master of ordnance who can point at an enemy and give artiller sustained hits 1, itll combo very well together eith the fulk hit rerolls. Since the manticore with an order will be hitting a scout sentinel target unit in a 2+ and itll get full hit rerolls into it's ideal target you can safely reroll all those non-6 hits to fish for more 6s since youll only miss on 1s!
Agreed S10 flat 3 damage is plain mean however from the games I've played D6+1 is terribly swingy. (obviously) I'm about to order 2 Earthshaker carriages and will run with 2 Basilisks. Basic thinking is 4 x D6+3 S8 flat 2 will trigger more critical hits than 2 x D6+1 that I currently have. However a mix of both is probably the way to go!
Remember that the defending unit doesnt get cover if they already have a 2+ or 3+ against ap0 so that means mortars are just as good firing in and out of indirect with a scout sentinel around into marines
Is this an Australian doing 40k? Love it.
Struth
Seems very weird that the bombard wouldn't be heavy, do u think that might be a typo?
It's a wierd one. It should have the indirect keyword and then it would probably also then have the heavy keyword. I think is a definite mistake by the rules team
Im making a 3d printed kreig army and in my liste i have 3 medusa carriage and 3 earth shaker carriage 😂
Glorious!

Main gun, raaaaaaange!
Fire!
Heavy Mortars? Griffon?
Unfortunately both have been Legended
@@GuardsmanHanan so, I was wondering what that means when it comes to actually using them in a game because the stats have been updated for the new addition. Would they go to the trouble of doing that if they didn't intend for them to be used? Sorry in advance if I'm asking a stupid question!
Meant "edition" not "addition" lol!
Ah cool, got it. So a legend unit is still playable in casual games however not in tournaments. It also will get way less attention when it comes to rule adjustments or balance updates. In other words, it's been or will be discontinued. So if you are palying casual games it's no problem, but if more competitive, the unit is essentially dead.
