- The Allman Brothers Band performs "Statesboro Blues" live at the Farm Aid concert in Tinley Park, Illinois on October 4, 1997. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?
Has anyone said just how fucking slick Dickie Betts solo was?
his best solo was "one way out" on the peach lp... the bros soaring to new heights just as we lost brother Duane..
Jack Pearson!!
the best unknown player
Best guitarist they ever had !!
Excellent guitarist but Duane was the best.
Used to see them each summer. Loved these men
love love love these guys best band ever !!!! COME TO KY
ABB is the best! I'm from Ashland KY
Dicky Betts!!
Jack Pearson!!!
I have to really look closely if it was Dickey Betts. This is the very first time I saw him with a Strat. It was like the first time I saw Nile Rodgers with a Les Paul
And Dickey without his mustache
Now when you see this, you can see the attitude that Dickie Betts puts off onstage. Sad, that guy kept shooting himself in the foot.
you, sir, are a shmuck.......I doubt you play guitar, or anything, or even know what a fuckin g- clef is......stay out of topics you are ignorant of.....you sound like a "mamone"
You don't need to be a guitar player to have an opinion.
@@jaywhofan no but he does need to spell his name correctly
@@mikesavoca7584 Dickey himself has spelled it that way on occasion.
@@jaywhofan what occasions?
Was at that show, it was in Tinley Park IL, even though I love the Allman Brothers, I just think they were maybe a little off that day, not a knockout performance but I still enjoyed the show. 👍
Un real best of the best
man shining nail polish
Well THAT was the WORST version of this song I have ever heard. Jack Pearson was not a good fit for this band. Sorry
I'd like to see you play!
Thankfully, Gregg AND Dickey both disagreed with you.🤣
When in doubt, I'll go with Gregg and Dickey's opinion.
There's no doubt Jack was an outstanding member of the ABB.
Oh man, I don't know what to say. I'm not going to call you out on this, but the Allman Brother's Band was THE best band, ever. Whatever they covered, they made it their own, and they sure didn't need to cover anyone else's songs to be great.
Greg Allman was one of the best if not the best Blues and Rock singers that ever lived, and Dickie Betts was one of the greatest lead guitarists. You might need to expand your musical knowledge. Close your eyes, turn your prejudices off and just listen and feel this music. It's from the heart man. Greg lived it, and lived to sing about it. Greg Allman WAS the Blues!
