Hey there Tina…these get ready & chat posts are a nice mix between the unboxings/reviews. I always say it’s like having coffee with friend & catching up on everyday things! I think it is a great idea to do a packing video, they are fun to watch. Deciding what to bring & how to best pack…I may be just a touch of an organizational nut, with the Container Store being one of my favorite places. I am a true Virgo after all 🤣The term midsize does not offend me at all! Although I follow others of all shapes & sizes, I find it helpful to narrow down folks of a similar size to see how some pieces would look & get an idea about fit. It is a description same as petite or plus. Some people may equate it to cars…so in that regard I am a midsize sedan. As a matter of fact I drive a midsize sedan too lol!! 😎 I have had many back surgeries as well as a female related surgery, so I totally get it with the exercise dilemma. For me, I do the best I can when I can & when I can it always helps me to have awesome music as a motivator…whether it be shuffling my tunes or having playlists. I will send over a few questions for that Q/A video, which also sounds like a fun one. Nothing exciting planned yet. Unfortunately I could not make a Bryan Adams concert back in March when he was here in NJ..so to the pool & beach it is! lol. I say the same thing when referring to home/where I grew up, which is also NY..Brooklyn. Where we had the whole family on the same block or around the corner. We moved to the Jersey Shore when I hit my teens, half the family moved with us & the other half scattered. I still miss certain things but wouldn’t trade being 10min from the ocean. Wow, so sorry the comment is so long..didn’t realize I had so much to say! Anyway sweet friend, don’t let anyone dull your sparkle ❤️

First off, you never need to apologize for a longer comment! I enjoyed this one immensely!
I am glad you were't offended by "midsize". But I can understand the car connection. I also like watching other RUclipsrs who are different sizes. We really all have so much in common when it comes to certain wardrobe struggles.
Your summer plans sound good to me! I am so jealous you are only 10 minutes from the Ocean! Do you go daily?? There is just something so calming about being near the ocean. I can see why you would not want to leave there!
Reading your comment, I realized I should really make a good workout playlist. It's been awhile and you are so right that upbeat music can really help keep you going!
I really enjoyed learning more about you with this comment. Thank you so much for sharing it with me!
And the comment about my "sparkle" brought a big smile to my face! So thank you!❤️

@@tinasbestmidlife Crazy week here, hope all is well! I am so glad & I always enjoy a nice uplifting chat with friends too ☺️ Oh, I wish I could head over every day..I always find peace when watching & being near the waves. My favorite time is when the summer crowds disperse & I would get my exercise by walking the boardwalk a few times a week after work. There is such a calmness in the winter months as well. Ugh, I could go on about it all day…lol. I am so happy you received a good report from the doc & hopefully each day you have felt better & better. Here are a couple of questions if you still need some. Hope you had a fun weekend & wonderful week ahead my friend ❤️
      1. Favorite genre or type of music?
      2. Best concert you have attended?
      3. Favorite place you have ever visited & why?
      4. For accessories…do you have a shoe or purse collection? Or both/neither?

I don’t find it offensive, because I do appreciate watching videos that I can relate to and see how the clothes fit, similar to how they would fit me. So I think the description is helpful.

  • @marianne57

Hi Tina, I enjoyed hanging out with you. I’m never offended with word choices for sizes of clothes. I always say I’m the size “it depends”. I can wear anywhere from petite, small, medium, or large 😂. It depends on who made it. I also have worn clothes when some people say that style ages women. My 14-yr-old granddaughter just yesterday said I looked younger than my age of 66 and I’m sure I was wearing an outdated item. I think personality plays a big part on how we stay looking younger.
I have nieces and a nephew living in New York (Chitanango; sp.?). I’m in Maryland and still don’t go to New York often. I enjoy watching videos on packing for trips as I’m so bad at it. ❤️🤗

I don't find midsize offensive at all. It's a descriptive term, not judgmental term. I'd love to see your packing video. I start setting out what to pack a week in advance and the final cut that makes it into my suitcase is from many, many, decisions away from my initial choices. As to buying the white button-down, I agree with whoever suggested to just buy it and not obsess over it. There was a Faherty shirtdress I found at a Faherty price. The day I decided to buy it, it happened to have dropped $40 - but was still expensive. I did buy it, and it's a favorite. I don't get mad at myself for spending so much for it.

I think there is nothing wrong with using ‘midsize’, it’s simply an adjective like petite or plus size. Imagine how much time we would waste if we couldn’t immediately tell from the description the size/style of clothes in a video. Your summer trip sounds fun! I would love to visit the East Coast one day.

Hi Tina! I can definitely relate. Since my mom moved in and after the big move, it has been a struggle. Can't leave mom alone and she doesn't like to go to the gym. So what I have found helpful is setting my mind to do before getting out of bed in the morning. I keep weights under my bed and I just do some pilates and strength training. We can talk ourselves out of something as fast as we can talk ourselves to do something. I am in peri and there are days I don't even want to film or anything. I also listen to my body. What you said is wow yesss looking at your older self I so relate.

Hi sweet Tina. I'm curious as to how you decided to start a RUclips channel. You're so well spoken, and so easy to listen to. You are a natural. I'm so glad that you did start this channel.
I don't find the term mid sized offensive. I follow women of all sizes, and whether you say petite, mid size or plus size, I have to issue. It's as if someone were to call me short. We'll, I am. Or if they say I'm busy. I am. We seem to get caught up with these terminologies, and I think it's nothing to get offensive about.
I'm so glad that you are totally healed from your surgery.
I hate working out. I do it 5 days a week, and hate it!! Ugh. There are days that I just can't get motivated.
I've put on 5 to 7lbs, and that should be enough to push me, but I'm slacking off.
Tina, I turned 65 last month, and I totally don't recognize my body.
No trips, a family reunion on Memorial Day. We may go down the shore for a few days.
I love NY. It sounds like a fun trip!

It's been so fun doing my cool down stretch with you this morning!
    Two things:
The former personal trainer in me just has to say that it's perfectly acceptable, and actually advisable, to start back with 2-3 workouts a week, putting at least a full day between sessions. Add when both your body and brain feel up to it. As we age, rest days are even more important for reasons I won't bore you with. 🙂
Second, if "midsize" is offensive, "plus-size" should be too. It's a descriptive word I find helpful. Like "Oh hey! This will apply to me!" (And thank you for a great tag to add to my videos. 😉)
Thanks for a fun video, my friend!

@tinasbestmidlife I'm not athletic, so weight lifting is my salvation. But I don't always want to work out. I just don't give myself a choice. I don't think about whether I'm in the mood. I just do it so I can get on with my day. I know that's not inspiring, but if you treat it like a non-negotiable appointment with yourself, you're much more likely to keep it up. I think it helps that I'm constantly challenging myself and trying to lift more or change exercises frequently. I have exercise ADD. 🤣

Hi Tina, I don’t think midsize is offensive at all, but maybe your viewer just took it the wrong way. You just can’t please everyone, right ? 🤷‍♀️ If you’re doing a try on, an alternative can be, mentioning your height & weight, or the size range you normally wear. 🤔
I’m going to take a trip back home in a couple weeks, and after living away from family for 14 years, and it’s still home for me, same as you. I need to exercise more, and I think the walking you do every day is great ! I need to have a talk with my 80 year old self also.
There’s been so many times, I’ve not purchased something I love because of the price tag, then I decide to go ahead, only to find it’s sold out. Now, I just get it, and can always return, if change my mind. ☺️💜☺️

Hi Tina! I'm glad the comment about "mid-size" wasn't one of the mean ones, but I'm surprised that anyone would find it offensive. We use the term "plus size" all the time and no one takes offense, but where are the terms for the rest of us? Petite doesn't really cover people who aren't short. Your descriptor indicates you are somewhere in the middle...not a size 2, but not a plus size. I'm glad you bought that shirt if you truly loved it! Hi Tina! I posted a comment earlier but I'm not seeing it, apologies if you get two comments from me!
First: like the other ladies here (and Dave 😅) I don't find midsize offensive at all. I follow "Petite" RUclipsrs, as it's helpful to me and I think having the word 'midsize' in your title would be helpful to other's too. I think that comment (which I saw btw and I thought you answered it very tactfully) was a one-off and not how most of us feel. Carry on with the Midsize!
Second: exercise! My dirty little secret? As a former fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 30 years, and having a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, I don't like exercise either! But-- like you, I think about the older me and being able to be mobile and active keeps me moving. It's perfectly normal to feel the way you do after 12 weeks off. Start slow and go easy on yourself. It will come back to you, that routine. If you need an accountability partner I am HAPPY to be that person.
Third: I'm so glad you got that shirt! Haven't we all been there? Ending up spending more money looking for the dupe? I sure have!
Fourth: questions! I'll think of some and write them in a future post!
And finally, summer plans? Not really any except I'd love to go somewhere to see Billy Joel in concert. I'm a huge fan and I'm so happy he's writing and touring again. So hopefully a trip somewhere to see him in concert this summer!
    (That's all folks!)

Hi Sallie!! I love that I learned something new about you!!! I didn't know all your experience with fitness and a Master's degree!! You know what you are talking about!! I am glad to hear it is not just me who really doesn't love exercise. I am taking your advice and trying to ease back into it. And thank you for the sweet offer. You're seriously the best!🥰
And I am glad to hear your take on "midsize". It's good to have other's perspectives on this, so thank you.
I love Billy Joel too!! I hope you do get a trip in to see him somewhere. He still sounds so good!! Did you happen to see the footage of him at a Met's game and they were playing Piano Man in the ballpark and every person in the crowd was singing it word for word and they zoomed in on his face. It was so sweet how touched He looked! I just loved it!
Well, hope you are having a great week and always love seeing a comment from you. Guaranteed smile!❤️

@@tinasbestmidlife I didn't see that footage of Billy Joel at the Mets game but I will have to see if it's on RUclips somewhere. I love his new song " Turn the Lights Back On" (have you seen the video? It's soooo cool!) and I'm hoping we BOTH get to see him in concert this summer. I've seen him 3 times (once with Elton John *dream concert*!) and I'd love to make it 4 times!

Mid-size is not at all offensive to me, but I understand that other people are more sensitive to words.❤

I’m not offended by midsize, I wanted to mention that I had a reaction to Retin-a using it in the neck area. It didn’t bother me at first, then I noticed the rings in my neck got red. I had been using moisturizer on top. Now the rings are patchy, with vertical lines and a very puckered look. Not pretty. It looks almost permanently red and thick. This is of course looking very closely. Any ideas on how to fix? It’s going to be there awhile.🙄

My neck can be very sensitive to Retin A too. The best thing I have used on my neck is Triple Paste Diaper Cream. I know it sounds funny, but I saw it recommended but Dr. Shereene Idriss and it really helps irritated skin. I swear by it now!

I’m NOT offended by the term midsize. Googles definition is “Midsize simply refers to the range of clothing sizes that sit between typical straight sizes and plus sizes. Straight sizes are generally considered to be 0 to 8, and plus sizes are conventionally known as 16 and up. That would put the midsize range from 10 to 14.” When shopping nowadays the sizes range all over the place. I have not been offended by anything you have said on any video. I would have missed this video if I wasn’t having a very lazy Sunday morning and this came up after the shopping haul. I’m glad I didn’t miss it. You need to develop a harder outer shell when dealing with the public. Be well. I enjoy your makeup videos but I need makeup more than clothes.

Thanks for the input on "midsize". I had just been very curious how others felt about this.
Thanks for watching and I hope you have a good one!

Hey friend, in no way is “Mid-size” offensive, that’s just a term and I am more apt to watch if it says that so I can feel like we are similar in size. I’m between a straight size and plus size which describes me. We are what we are! With no judgement! Keep on doing what you do cuz I love your videos💜 so keep them coming 🥰🥰

I was curious about having a RUclips channel, do you get a lot of mean comments? And do you get notified and remove them? And what do people say? I’ve just heard a lot of RUclipsrs comment about please be nice or something like that, and I wonder why there are so many mean people out there? I mean, these are Stitch Fix unboxing, what is there mean to say about that? Love your channel and your videos.

Hi Tina. I don’t find Mid Size offensive at all, I wouldn’t even notice it, it is what it is. I’m so pleased you purchased the white blouse, it was lovely on you and I completely understand what you mean by buying alternatives and them not being right. Life’s short, if you comfortably can, buy it and enjoy it. Thank you for the video 🙂 xx

Hi sweet Betty! Thanks so much for feedback on your take on midsize. I appreciate it!
Yes! That darn shirt! Oh the time I wasted hemming and hawing over whether I should get it! Lol! But I am happy I kept it!
Thanks so much for always giving me a smile! I look forward to your comments because of that!
Hope your week is going well sweet friend!💕

Hi Tina! Here are some questions: I don’t find midsize offensive, although I think of you on the smaller size but I am certainly not offended. What has been the best, worst and most surprising thing about you doing RUclips? Do your friends and family know you have a RUclips channel? Do you think having a RUclips channel has changed you at all, for the good or not so good? Favorite meal? Favorite restaurant? Favorite color? Favorite movie and song? What made you stop working outside the home as a Paralegal and what made you start your channel? Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? Favorite season? Do you make New Years Resolutions or a new word/phrase for the year? If so what is it? Normal day at home, jeans or leggings? Well there are a few to get you started, you can obviously pick and choose. Enjoyed the chat. It sure is harder to keep in shape and lose weight as you get older. Wait till you are my age!😮! As you know I just had my sister from Maryland, daughter and son-in-law from Sydney and daughter from San Diego here for a week so that was my summer vacation. Going back to work was not a fun reality. So glad you kept the white button down, that will be a basic you will wear for years. Did you send back the white boho, I liked that too. 😊

I have been thinking of you and I owe you an email, because gosh isn't it so hard when your kids and relatives leave after a visit?? It really is for me....Hope you are doing ok.
You know I always look forward to your comments. Always make me smile!
Hope your day is going well. Take care my sweet friend!❤️

Maybe RUclips needs to have more choices of terms. There are sooo many “size” terms:
    There’s criti-size,
    Ostra-size, romanti-size, publi-size, itali-size, exer-size….. 😄

I often click on mid size videos for the very reason you used it. To me it means not petite and not plus size. Generally results in items that are appropriate for me.both in size and style.. Would enjoy a Q and A.

Hope you have a wonderful day Nancy! Take care!💕
