- Hi friends! Today we are going to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly on what it’s like being an over 50 RUclipsr. I will read to you a couple of mean comments I have received and also share with you what RUclips has paid me for my popular video so far. Thank you so much for watching. I hope you enjoy!

Hi - It is so fortunate to see these comments that content creators have to deal with. The 2 you mentioned are to the point of being absurd. Please don't let them get to you. You never know who is behind these comments. You may think they are grown women but they could be fake accounts and are teenagers with nothing better to do than harass someone on this platform. I also think there are keyboard warriors that go from video to video making these type of comments because they are unhappy and love to get the attention. However, they would never be able to put themselves out there. Thank you for making content for us to enjoy!

Hi Tina. I’m sorry you had to deal with such meanness. I don’t understand why anyone needs to publicly express their negative mean comments. But I’ve learned in life when people do things like this it’s not at all about you it’s them. It could be jealousy or some other thing that has them feeling the need to lash out. Regardless my opinion is that you RUclips content creators put yourselves on videos for entertainment purposes and give us views and content that we like Sometimes I’ve seen some creators be very vulnerable trying on swimsuits and shape wear etc. all for showing us what we want to see and know about. I commend all of you for your hard work. I’m happy this gives you an outlet for enjoying your time at this stage of life. I couldn’t ever speak to someone like that. If ya can’t find something positive to say just don’t say anything. I enjoy all of your posts and will continue to support and look forward to your posts. You’re a great lady doing a great job. I never comment but have watched and enjoyed many of your videos. I’m sorry you have to deal with awful viewers. Every time I see a mean comment on anyone’s video I want to jump in and chastise them, but I know that won’t do any good. They are just miserable people. I really resonate with where you are in life. I’m a little older than you and also an empty nester after being a stay at home mom and then caring for aging parents. I started a reselling business a few years ago to have something that was mine. It gives me a lot of enjoyment and I have helped friends and family thru my experience. You are helping so many with your channel and by extension making friends of us all! 😊

I’m 60. I retired 6 yrs. ago. I’m an empty nester and also took care of my parents until they passed from lung cancer. I volunteer at the Red Cross facility on Mondays. I need to find a hobby besides shopping. Lol! What led you to opening a reselling business?
If she didn’t want to watch it, why did she? And I agree. Just delete the comment. Fortunately, I rarely get mean comments. The second comment is ridiculous.

Oh Tina. To sum it up truthfully & bluntly…some people just suck! It is very sad when someone who is so miserable in their own lives must project their mean/bitter/negative attitudes on others. You are so right…they are hurtful individuals so delete, delete, delete. Whether a person has watched 1 or 1000 of your videos, it is quite plain to see that you always try to exude a positive, pleasant demeanor when sharing your posts. You are the reason why RUclips is such an enjoyable experience for all of us in your community & why we look forward to spending some time catching up with you. Whether it be unboxings; reviews; tips or just life in general…always nice to hang with a friend for a little while 🥰

The mean comments are the worst. What is it about us that one mean comment and it's all we can think about, negating the hundreds of positive ones???
I'm still small enough I dont have to deal with it often, but like you, I delete them immediately and don't engage.
You are one of the sweetest, most honest people I know. Also, the entitlement mentality if someone who is watching pretty much unlimited content for any subject they are interested in for FREE is a bit mind boggling. How can you expect the people who are providing that content for you to not be compensated for their time and effort? I imagine these same people do not have the same level of vitriol for celebrity endorsements.
You keep doing what you do and remember the hundreds of positive comments. You are awesome!

And yeah, when someone's name is on a comment you can be pretty sure they're being sincere in their limited way. Because it's obvious they haven't watched anything else. Otherwise they'd be singing a different tune. 🎶 Your sweet spirit makes it impossible for anyone who knows you even a little to be anything less than kind.

Hi Tina! I haven’t been as active on RUclips this year, so I have missed many videos. You’re always so kind and those people I’m sure don’t watch your other videos. That’s still no excuse and try to remember if someone can leave a mean message like that there’s a high chance that person is miserable in their own life or going through something that is leaving them very bitter and they are lashing out to anyone in their path.
As your channel continues to grow it will sadly only get worse, but know it isn’t you and try not to take it personal. Easier said than done I’m sure, but unfortunately these kind of people can’t be avoided on a platform like this.
Just my humble opinion, I personally think the best thing to do is when you see a mean comment immediately delete it and know it wasn’t personal, then move on and don’t allow an internet bully take your joy because they don’t truly know you to begin with.❤️💗

Oh Tina what unpleasant comments! There is something seriously wrong with people who feel the need to write this nonsense. Oh wow. How mean some people are. It makes me wonder if they talk or act like that in their everyday lives. I don’t think negativity has a place in somebody’s own RUclips channel. I haven’t begun a channel yet because I truly don’t know what area of my home to dedicate to filming and using. I may buy a she shed and doll it all up really girly someday. I’m sorry for your mean comments. I will someday ask you some of the questions I need to get started with a channel. I’m a straight forward person. I like what I like about clothes and fashion in general. I’m not. Trendy guru I’m simple and classic with a Boho edge I do my own makeup which isn’t really fancy but it’s my personal routine. I admire all of you who have channels. I know that almost everyone i watch has had this conversation at one time to address the mean comments and all the Karen’s out there and there just isn’t a single good reason for it other than their own unhappiness and maybe jealousy is what i figure. But I enjoy your channel and truly know that what you present and promote are things that you believe in because I couldn’t imagine you pretending to like something that you don’t like at all. Those comments make me so sad for you! I’ve got thin skin and it would really hurt my feelings. The people that leave those mean comments have to be miserable. It takes time and money to create videos so if you receive a free product or a discount code for something that you feel is a good product then you should take the opportunity. It's nobody's business but yours. These people who leave mean comments are unhappy so they want to make other people unhappy. Keep doing what you are doing and delete the mean comments. There is a RUclipsr out there who has created a parody channel of the LisaLisaD1 channel. If she is that bothered by Lisa, just stop watching her channel. I hope that you have a great week!

Tina I think some of these people say these things just to be mean! I do t even know why! My parents used to say if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all! You are such a sweet beautiful person inside and out that it makes me angry people do this to you! Over the years I now consider you a dear friend and it breaks my heart to hear about these hateful comments! Love ya girl!

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that are unhappy and unstable that use the Internet to try to bully others. While I feel sorry for them, I refuse to allow their comments to affect my sense of self. Try to ignore them. If pressed, let them know that you do not value their opinions.

Like you I seem to get my most negative comments on videos where I have received something free. People just don't understand we do this because we love to and actually receiving these products it opens our eyes to new brands we may have never tried before and end up really liking. You seem so genuine and your personality is so sweet and honest. I know it's hard but you have to just brush off those bad comments. People who truly love watching your videos know the truth.

I have been thinking about starting a RUclips channel but I haven’t decided yet as I am almost 71 years old and I feel like it may be overwhelming to learn how to film and then how to edit. It always amazes me the things people will say in comments that they would not say to someone face-to-face. At least I hope they wouldn’t 😳. I can’t imagine they’d have many friends! I have had fleeting thoughts wondering how much time you are spending doing these videos. I never thought about your getting paid but I have no interest in knowing about payments. Time is more important to me. I also never thought about your trying to look younger but in reality we all want to look younger not older. I’m more interested in makeup products and not clothing but you’ll remember I’m the one that pushes dressing in your “colors” because they really do help improve your appearance. Have fun and keep it up if you are enjoying it. Delete those harsh comments and move on.❤
Hi there! I have never really broken down how much time I spend working on this channel, but it is A LOT! Researching ideas and projects, shopping, testing, shooting the video, editing, responding to comments.. It takes a lot of time! But like I said, at this point I am still enjoying putting in the time.
As far as trying to look younger, I agree no one wants to look older, but I truly just want to feel good in my skin where I am at right now. Chasing looking younger I think is just too hard!
I know you are big on dressing your colors and I do use my color analysis as a guide, but I have personally learned that when people wear clothes they love, they light up! And that always makes you look better in my opinion even if it's not one your so called colors. I know you don't like me in navy, but I love it and feel good in it, so it is definitely staying in my wardrobe.
Because I like to make varied content, I have some viewers who just watch what they like and I get that. Like you said you are mainly interested makeup products and I appreciate that you watch that content, because I too am very interested in makeup as well.
