You could tell how genuine Ross was telling everyone how he proposed to Rachel as if that's exactly how he wanted to propose to Rachel!

You can tell Ross had his own plan to propose to Rachel, it’s too bad that most of the show they were mostly off on their on and off romance. Rachel seemed to have loved Ross’ plan, it surprisingly fits them. Could have been nice to end the show on a more healed relationship between the two, and get a scene like that, not just reconnected. For all we know, they could have gone on another break after the season ends 😆

We actually do know that they married and stayed together after the end. This fact is mentioned in the short-lived show 'Joey', the spin-off of Friends, written and produced by the same people as Friends so it's exactly the same universe. In one episode, Joey said to his new friends in Los Angeles (the spin-off is about Joey moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career) that all his old, best friends in New York are married now. That clearly means Ross and Rachel got married, we just didn't see it on Friends. Cause Monica&Chandler and Phobe&Mike already married on Friends. So if Joey said now ALL of his best friends are married, this means Ross and Rachel too, and they did def get back together, and it absolutely looked final, so it is pretty safe to assume they stick to it. Also, long story short, the writers simply confirmed it, and Jen in all her interviews always says that Ross and Rachel are still together, raising kids (she even used 'kids' not just Emma, so she imagines they got more kids after, which is so sweet for me).

He was one of the extras that they use for light adjustments and as a reference point for the cameramen, so that the real actors don't have to be there when they are not on the scene. Obviously he wasn't supposed to appear on that shot. 😁

0:25 and 0:58 Jack Geller suddenly becomes a different human being altogether for a little bit. Impressive ability. I assume these continuity errors were at times so egregious because friends episodes were shown in 4:3 aspect ratio on TV and even the DVD sets were also in that narrow format. Only years later did HD widescreen versions come out showing these ridiculous moments out of the old 4:3 frame.

It’s unfortunate the writes robbed us of their ultimate wedding just to keep the series going. Season 9 should’ve ended with their wedding and season 10 could’ve been about their married life and their mixed family dynamic with Ben and his two moms. We were robbed I tell you!

Now I wonder how Ross really proposed the second time around since in Joey they sort of implied they got remarried.
If they ever do a Friends Reunion Episode (and I mean with the actual characters, not just the actors), they could have it be Ross and Rachel renewing their vows. Ross asks Rachel to do it just like how he describes in the video, and they have themselves that dream wedding, and sooo many characters can cameo!
I prefer that reunion never coming to be, knowing Hollywood and their producers they are capable of having Ross and Rachel separated just to cause a commotion so they can cash more money despite if that would screw us as fans of the show
@@santiagocarreno5881 Ugh, that would be terrible if they did that. But then again, it's not guaranteed that that WOULD happen. Besides, there are so many other potential drama points they could do, such as:
-Monica finally confronting Judy on being a narcissistic mother
-Phoebe finally reconciling with Ursula, and meeting with their biological parents
-Jack (Monica and Chandler's adoptive son) coming out as gay on Thanksgiving, except unlike when Chandler's dad came out, this is treated as a good thing. I can see Jack saying, "Dad... I'm gay." with Chandler replying, "Hi, Gay. I'm Dad. And I will ALWAYS be your dad. No matter what."
(Plus this could serve as a callback to when Jack was first born and Monica said, "I'm going to love you so much, no women will ever be good enough for you!" Sure enough, no woman was ever good enough for Jack Bing. ;))
-Joey also comes out, but as bisexual, and has started dating a man (Phoebe also comes out as bi, but that's treated as a bit more as a throwaway fact, since she's still happily married to Mike; though that doesn't make her any less bi)
-Rachel finally having a scene with both of her sisters
-Ben and Emma doing a "The Routine" battle against Jack and Erica
-Emma singing "Baby Got Back" as her first scene

Ross was so romantic during the proposal description. You can tell how heartfelt it was to Rachel. She seemed so emotional about it. I absolutely loved Aniston & Schwimmers chemistry in this ep. Well, they always had amazing chemistry, but their funny scenes were my fave
For the show to be based around their off and on romance, its a shame there wasn't more on. I think this season could have easily brought them closer together romantically, and it teased it so many times after they hooked up. I think they could have got back together and at the end of the show they could have made the big chpice be either paris or new york and could have created a dilemma through that.

It's funny, when Seinfeld and Friends were on TV in the 1990s, I used to love Seinfeld and didn't bother to watch Friends cause I thought it was just another stupid cliché sitcom. As a Jewish person (Israeli) it was clear to me that Seinfeld had a Jewish flavor because its main writers and characters were mostly Jewish. I always thought of Friends as more of a mainstream American sitcom because the main characters didn't look Jewish to me and in the 1990s I don't think there was even Google to look up these things. In the last year or so, I sort of "discovered" Friends and find it really funny. I also realize that it also has a Jewish aspect to it (and I'm not implying that that's why it's funny) - I think it was created by Jewish people, or at least partly, 2 out of the 6 main actors were Jewish, and in this clip the Jewishness of Ross's background is evident. I wouldn't be surprised if Rachel was created as a Jewish character only the fact that it was played by Jennifer Anniston who is this all American (Christian) girl, makes it less obvious.
You are right, and actually, all of the main writers and creators of Friends are Jewish. Also, they did hint a few times on the show that Ross and Monica are Jewish, they just did it in a more subtle way than Seinfeld. I think the most obvious one was in the episode The One with the Holiday Armadillo when Ross teaches Ben about Hanukkah. Not to mention, David Schwimmer is also Jewish, and like, truly Jewish from generations and generations of big Jewish families on both sides, and he is actually the only natural New Yorker out of all the cast, he was born in New York (and he is the only one out of the cast of six who lives in New York City, the rest of them live in California).
And it was and is important because if you really analyze this show, it's clear Ross was kinda the main character on the show, together with Monica. The Geller family as a whole appeared regularly on the show, and Ross&Monica's parents appeared on the show the most out of all the parents, it all began at Monica's apartment which was the center of the group's meetings and lives, and she inherited it from her grandmother, so it was really the Gellers apartment for decades; the main romance of the show was built around Ross (and second around Monica) because even tho Mondler was more stable one, Mondler was created later in the show, while Ross and Rachel romance was there from the start, and it was obvious for anyone who understands TV that Ross&Rachel were created as star-crossed lovers on this show. And Ross&Monica were the only 'friends' whose sibling dynamic was also the main focus of the show. So Ross (and Monica) were kinda the main characters, even tho it was in general an ensemble show. But it's clear the writers mainly channeled their experiences and Jewishness through Ross, and in the second place, Monica.
In comparison to Seinfeld, the thing is, the identity that Seinfeld as a show covered the most was Jewishness and the different ways it manifests itself in life, while Friends focused on the lives of young adults in a big American city and on the general, universal idea of friendship and love, no matter what religion or culture the characters identified with, which was really the winning formula.
Personally, I always preferred Friends exactly because of this - Friends was just way more universal, cool, modern, and in my view, all the characters were much more interesting and more relatable than Seinfeld characters. I also find Friends, overall, funnier than Seinfeld.
