I found them hilarious as friends, particularly because of Rachel’s sarcasm and Ross… being Ross. Imo they radiated married couple energy. But they were also a cute couple.
Although my favorite couple is Chandler and Monica, I like Ross and Rachel as a couple. I find it irritating sometimes that people nowadays seem to hate the couple based on a few scenes especially during seasons 3 & 4 with some Mondler fans using that to label them "toxic" all throughout the series and say that's the reason they like Chandler and Monica. People can like both couples for different reasons and I'm one of them.

While I do see people thinking that these 2 are toxic together. But here's 4 simple reason why I enjoy Ross and Rachel.
1. They are funny together and play off each other very well.
2. They have great chemistry due their actors crushing on each other.
3. They have genuinely sweet moments despite their differences.
4. Even their arguments are entertaining to watch, even if it is tragic.

When people say they were toxic, I think they were toxic for one another in end of 3-7. By the time she got pregnant, I think they were at a place in their lives where they were great for one another. The writers messed them up by doing the stupid Rachel/Joey story. They could have spent season 9 with them coparenting then working on their relationship
@@whosaprettykitty5076 Tbh their relationship was okay as them being friends in seasons 4, 5 and 7 with the exception of season 6 where Ross doesn't get the annulment. Aside from that they only had toxic traits when Ross was jealous of Mark and then her being jealous of Bonnie. Saying they're toxic is just really exaggerating.
You get so focused on the will they won't they aspect of Ross and Rachel that you forget that the two of them were absolutely hilarious together ❤❤

@@piaasantani9823 You do know that out of the two of them, Rachel's the more toxic one, not Ross. Rachel was the one who always sabotaged Ross' dates. He doesn't reciprocate. When they were dating, yes Ross was more on the wrong but afterwards it was definitely skewed towards Rachel. By season 8, those traits were fading away and by season 10 it felt good for them to come back together. I just wish she kept her job at Paris though.
People always complain about them, but I love them together as both friends and a couple lol. I think the reason why they were so “toxic” is because it was a “right person, wrong time” type of relationship. They both had things they needed to work through that wouldn’t have worked with them doing it together (Ross dealing with his insecurities from being cheated on, Rachel learning how to be independent and not relying on anyone)

Anyone saying they're a bad couple or that they're toxic doesn't realize it's a sitcom. Character's personalities and actions are extremely exaggerated to fit in this comedic world and for the sake of drama. Also judging a sitcom from the 90s in modern standards doesn't make any sense.

That part always bothered me. My dad is a computer scientist and Google and my mom a doctor at Stanford's Children's Hospital, and they are both technically doctors. Like Harshil Darji said in the comments, both take lots of hard work and effort to achieve, and the show playing that off as nothing is a bit annoying to me.

Depends on what part of the series you are talking about. If you're talking about during seasons 3-8 then I agree because they needed that breathing space from one another but if it's during the other remaining seasons I would disagree since they were pretty close during that period.

Their relationship was so immature, Ross was a control freak because of his insecurities and jealousy, and Rachel was a little bit childish when it comes to their fights. Although I think things got better by the end of the season because Emma brought them down to earth, we can't ignore how toxic they were towards each other...

Ross and Rachel were a couple who had to fight a lot in order to be together. And when they did, they realized that they did not want to lose each other so they began to behave like children. And it was these acts of immaturity that led them to break up.
Being toxic is not the same as behaving like children, being toxic is being possessive, always having to know where the other is, you always want to know who they hang out with. Ross and Rachel weren't like that, they just had jealousy problems because they didn't want someone else to separate them because they loved each other so much. Do you know what I mean?
