Just came back from elbow surgery and I am only cleared to do Abs and cardio.. Started my workout with Cable crunches. Thanks for the Video definitely helped me a lot!!
Good video. *liked* - Question, what kind of weight should I be using for this exercise? Low with high reps (15-30) - Moderate weight with moderate reps or high weight with low reps (8-15)? Thanks.
So THAT'S what this exercise targets. My abs have always looked small in my eyes so I hope this will give them a thicker appearance. Then again I'm bulking so prolly won't see the results till after.
Depends really on what you are trying to do, If you want more mass and size do heavy weight, thats also good for gaining thickness, if you want to shredd them out more and define them more (though thats mainly results of a good diet and low BF%) do a lighter weight with higher reps
+Ten Gil I couldn't agree more for those of us with degenerative disc disease (prolapses) and sciatica. I would strongly recommend avoiding sit-ups and crunches. Also behind the back barbell squats and deadlifts are a one way ticket to snap city. There is just too much compression/force on the lower back. Been there done that ;)
Ten Gil Could be, but for myself even with the guidance of a PT and perfect form/a neutral spine I still get serious problems around the 50-60kg mark and I know I'm not the only one. People have different injuries. Sumo squats with a heavy dumbbell is much safer for the lower back in my experience. The squat motion is key to building a stronger lower body. The 'dead-lift' is great for power lifters and show offs (guys who like to drop weights, and strut around in a hoody) but the risk to reward is so high I don't think it's smart for most people. You'd need a PT on every lift and even then one bad rep and it's snap city. I mainly see guys between 18-30 doing dead-lifts at the gyms I've been to. If you have no spinal injuries and a fresh, young back then I guess it can be great for 'packing' on mass as with the behind the back barbell squat.
Suk Mike Hok sry, missed that. BUT soooo many people do the kind of exercises that you consider as bad and yet we don't hear it very oftten (I never heard of it for example) that someone has issues in the back..
This does not work. I'd been doing this long before I've seen this video and the action of the weight isn't acting on the core at all. You may as well be doing the same position and motion without a weights
My classmates laughed when I told them I was going to build muscle with "Epic Max Muscle", but then I showed them the results. Do a search on Google for Epic Max Muscle to see their reaction. (It was epic!)

Fixed my form in 5 seconds... GREAT!
How many sets/& reps do u do?
+antonio beljr 3-4 sets all until failure!
@@KevinLisakFitness thanks
Good video. Do you do these until failure?
+Voffsing1 yes I do! High reps until the pain is to strong!
Always trains the abs to failure with not to heavy weight, thats's what the abs want ;)
I don’t feel this in my abs. I got a mean pump in my hands from holding onto the weight tho.
Maybe I was pulling with my arms. Didn’t really feel like it.
@@jons2cool1 this is probably 3 years late but try placing your thumbs over the rope instead of under to isolate your abs more
@SinghBros24 Sure is!
thanks for this! I've been doing these all wrong! Lol

Why do I feel this in my back?

SO what do you suggest we should do instead of the exercises you named that you consider as being wrong?
You too, yes!

Back and glutes get too involved with this variation for my liking personally

How does this target the serratus???
Because he does a little twist to the side...look closely.
its not really gonna target the serratus, but there is serratus activation because his scapula (shoulder blade) is protracted throughout the movement
Komi Amegblenke that isnt the function of the serratus
i cant feel it
Good shit

Monty2289 works for me, you must be doing it wrong
ive been doing a lot of this workout... i feel the pain.... and i can see it works it out.... so it works for me
+Monty2289 You must not be isolating your core enough. When your form is correct it works...and youll know it.
agree i was pulling all the wight easly 30 reps without feeling anything in my abs ...and i was doing it right i am sure
u feel the burn when ur working out. correct me if i am wrong
total dramarama
