- Two boys die in a fire in a backyard shed fire that was ruled accidental - until the case was investigated further.
Ed Graf was sentenced to life in prison for the deaths of his two stepsons. Then he was granted a new trial.
Graf took a plea deal while waiting for the verdict in his retrial for the capital murder of his two stepsons.

It seems to me the Judge is at fault here by not considering (or not caring) about the mandatory release and by not reinstating the his original sentence (life in prison) or even a harsher sentence after he plead guilty.

The same thing happened here in Phoenix Az. The mother worked at an elementary school w my mother in law. Her boyfreind or husband took her little girl to the desert & burned her alive after dousing her w a flammable fluid. The guy was on Meth tripping. What a monster!! I was so careful raising my 3 kids. I didnt let no one even look at them in the wrong way. I even left a guy because he acted jealous of how I treated & loved my son. Wierdo I left him.

The fact that they were just laying on their backs is proof that he did it in my opinion. How can 2 kids just lay on their backs while being burned alive? No signs of struggle and even if they passed out from the smoke, they wouldn’t just be laying next to each other on their backs like that. Even if they fell asleep and the shed caught on fire, they would either wake up from the heat and sound, plus they still wouldn’t be laying in that position.
People can die from smoke inhalation without waking up. My grandmothers best friend was a long time foster parent and she lost two girls she just got when her trailer caught fire. Got burns on 90% of her body because she tried saving them and was rescued by the department...she nearly died. But the girls were found dead on their backs in bed. Cause of death was smoke inhalation. It happens more often than you'd think.
This case is obviously different. Just saying it isn't THAT unusual for someone sleeping to not be disturbed. Which is wild.
Also, why would they have been playing in the shed while Ed Graf was home if they knew they weren’t allowed in there? All the evidence is circumstantial, but he definitely did it.

Absolutely right. My husband was killed and i was left to raise my two sons. It wasn't easy but I did it. While they were young, I never dated for many reasons but they were the main one, they were so young 4 and 6 years old when my husband die on 9/11. Feel sorry for this mother, but some women can't be without a man in their lives. I understand that he deceived her and the price she paid for not being careful was way to high. Those two little angels are in heaven now.

I was a single mother from the time my son was 8 years old and I never felt the need that I had to have another man in my life. I struggled to raise my son (he is now 50yrs old and a wonderful father of two children the oldest a nurse the younger still in college) I loved spending my time with my son, often including his friends in activities and day trips,I was the neighborhood mom despite the fact that most of his friends had 2parents in the house, occasionally when my son was about 15/16 , I would go on a rare date but never allowed them to be around my son and let them know up front that NO ONE came before my child, I don't regret it one bit because I kept my son safe, kept my mind clear. I won't say that all step parents are bad, I personally know some of the best in my own family (Some uncles who were better father's than my cousins bio father's) but women and in some cases men need to read the signs before letting a step parent into your household and at the first sign of dissention, get your self and your babies away. If they show any sign of difference in how you raise your children, don't bring them into the fold!
