Checkmates and OMACs have a special place in my heart. Playing the checkmate deck in Versus System was my first introduction to comics and their characters and stories.
Bleh I actually love the darker tone in DC comics it's realistic more believable so as I see it Jeff John is sorta wrong and also right but I rather have it like this instead of it being more campy
Carlos Santino that's kind of the problem. you think there are only gritty and campy. if it isn't one or the other and that's wrong. Johns is absolutely right. showing the light isn't the same as being campy. you can be real and bright at the same time. it never has to be dark for the sake of being dark. that's ultimately never that entertaining. if you ever read IMAGE's comic Invincible, you'd see a perfect balance of real and bright.
This is why I love your videos dude. I've read Infinite Crisis and all the prequels, so I know what happens. But you go so in depth about the characters, like their first appearances, explanations of origins, etc. You don't just talk about the comic, you talk about how and why they were created, giving me a more in depth appreciation for the story. Now when are you gonna get to the Grant Morrison Batman arc?! There's SOOOO much to explain there with all the references to the Silver Age comics. BAT-RADIA! There's always a lot to be explained with Morrison's work. I bet a lot of seasoned comic readers would appreciate a playlist of Morrison, like his recent N52 Action Comics run, more Multiversity videos, Animal Man, etc.
Mike Kennedy UPVOTE, because he wrote the best-ever run on them. You can pick up "Titans Tomorrow" independent of the rest of it, not feel lost, and DAYUMN it's a good read.
Funny thing is Wonder Woman and Flash were a part of the Justice League Europe and Martian Manhunter was part of the Justice League America under Max Lord. Batman quit when Lord came on. All the other JLA members returned as guests after Lord left. And yet, Wonder Woman was written as the most connected to the JLI, which we see here and in the JLI miniseries after the "Supper Buddies" stories.
All the stuff leading to infinite crisis was my introduction to comics and honestly my favorite bit of dc comics. Anyone else have fond memories of this era of dc?
Could you cover another tie-in to Infinite Crisis: Under the Red Hood? I would LOVE to see you cover it and the things that you think we might have missed
Rob it would be really cool if every now & then you did your really scripted vids with smooth music in the back. It was like ASMR but I got to hear an awesome story as well.
this is the issue for me regarding Wonder Woman. when she put the lasso on Max,he gave her a very thorough answer. "once I have control of someone I don't let go,the only way to stop me is to kill me " so knocking him out isn't a solution. subduing him isn't a solution. reversing it is temporary. therefore it was the only solution. and it is definitely not murder. homicide yes . murder no
14:50 the collected book ur missing where Superman fights Batman is called Superman: Sacrifice it collects various issues, in order they are Superman #219, Action Comics #829, Adventures of Superman #642, Wonder Woman #219, Adventures of Superman #643, & Wonder Woman #220
The issue with the whole who can beat superman is it is wholly dependent on how much energy he has, given enough energy he can probably take on the whole league
The millions of OMACs activated, then defeated, in that story. Did they die, or become human again? If died, did DC ever do anything to deal with the deaths of millions of people on that Earth? Would make a good story, IMO, as families and loved ones across the world deal with how someone they knew and cared about was converted into these killer machines. Reminds me of Prime Sentinels from Marvel's Operations Zero Tolerance X-men title crossover event.
14:53 My dear Robbie and everyone else who would like to continue with Superman, the comics are Superman 218, action comics 829, and adventures of Superman 642 in that order. Happy reading👍
Has Rob done anything on the Squadron Supreme? If not he totally should. They are one of my favourite creations by Marvel and he could get them a lot of fans by covering them. Another one I recommend is Miracleman by Alan Moore. For obvious reasons. And the third one being some of Warren Ellis' work at Avatar Press, especially the "beware the superman" trilogy. Great stuff. And finally, Irredeemable and Incorruptible from Boom! comics. Friggin excellent comics I would recommend to anyone.
have u made any videos for the other infinite crisis tie-ins like villains united, day of vengeance, or Rann-Thanagar war if you did I'd really like to see them
I have read the lead up, the story that you said you couldn't get your hands on with superman being controlled. I think it was in a trade named "OMAC", it was a while ago and was at my local library.
Dude... I hate I lost my comics in storage a few years ago. I had that entire Superman story where Maxwell was influencing him. I would've had them fedex shipped to you for the video. AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!
Under the control of Maxwell Lord, Superman, as Clark Kent, suddenly saw Brainiac appear at the office and talking to Lois Lane. Freaking out, he attacked Brainiac, and eventually followed Brainiac to his secret underground base, and then beat Brainiac to a pulp until stopped by Wonder Woman or someone (I forgot that detail), then superman realizes he wasn't beating Brainiac, he was beating up Batman. It's Superman 219, Action Comics 829 and Adventure of Superman 642.
Spoona Benson Batsman-A man raised by multiple bats to be a vigilante. Batmen- a bunch of man all inspired by a single bat i order to be vigilantes. Source: www.wikibatia.com
Ok I have to call shenanigans on sups guard been down when he is pretending to be Clark, ied say that's when he is concentrating the most just to make sure he doesn't rip a door off while opening it.
Infinite Crisis is one of the best DC events and the Tie ins are just as good. Thanks for doing this Rob.

One of the best elements in Your videos, besides Your amazing voice, is when you link history into the Comics. Always a joy.

Thanks Rob.

anyone else have this wave of nostalgia from DCUO from recent videos like braniac and now Project OMAC?
I am not the hero this city deserves, but I'm the Batsman it needs!
I like the videos without watching them. There's enough good content on this channel to take that risk
Hey Robcore, this title is how we know Rob is grinding hard for us. Thanks man you earned a typo every now and again! #DadadadadadadaBatsman

A man with more than one bat?
Multiple Bat Man?

its fine Rob lol. Thanks fr the vid!
After you finish Infinite Crisis you should do Rucka's Checkmate run. It deals with the direct fallout of the event in terms of the organization.
Guy Gardner: listen carefully, Wonder Toots. You're not like us.
Batsman and robsin are my favourite duo
love your vids. I would like to see you do a captain America vs Spartans from halo that would be cool.
wonder woman don't deal in half measures.. that's why i love her.she is a realist.
When Wonder Woman has you in her Lasso of Truth, expect a quick turnaround thereafter; one way or the other... ~_~
Awesome video sir!

It's Superman 219, Action Comics 829 and Adventure of Superman 642.
Ok, I dogged up the books, Superman was stopped by a number of Justice Leaguers.
I loved the Batman thing on B1:GothamCREATORYes. Now we know that Batman is in Gotham. So much knowledge.
Batsman?????????
I know that it will be explained in the video
I believe that Batsman is plural for more than one Batman.
CharmSovereign would that not be batmen?

Omacs are Super Sentinels from Marvel.
I didn't hear the usual "Best thing coming out of DC Rebirth right now"...Oh no wait, this is a decade old storyline.Fuck.
I always read it as "Brother I (eye)" not "Brother 1 (one)" . You know, cause you use it to SEE the metahumans
HES THE GODDAMN BATSMAN!!!
hey rob. will there ever be a time you cover the 4 volume mini series of OMAC when he was just 1 guy that was supposedly the last existing superhero?
I've killed so many omac units in dcuo lol
MrYTGuy1 is that game still popular?

Batsman is always betraying the league..

IDEA. DC's OMACs VS Marvel's Sentinels.
Cover some blue beetle stories Rob.
Please cover Fifty two & Trinity (The arcs that follow Infinite Crisis)
So basically it’s DC’s version of Ultron
Dude do Rann/Thanagar War, like how hasn't the completest in you bugged you to take a sec and just knock that out lol.
