I liked the way the Justice League cartoon played this out. Everyone was shocked except Superman, who admitted he knew and even gave Batman the kryptonite that was used on him.
I didn't see the cartoon, but as I watched this video, I expected Superman to say he knew.. agreed that the cartoon was better.
On that series and timeline it does make sense

@@danieljoseph9439 Yes, he knew but didn't say anything, mentioning that he's counting on Batman to stop him if he ever goes rogue, which is why he tells him to keep the kryptonite.
Bruce is the smartest person on Earth. Clark is the strongest. We've seen instances over the years when each one has either been brainwashed or they've had a psychotic break. Clark knows he's the most physically dangerous of all of the JL members. He has enough self awareness, honor, and humility to know he's not infallible or uncorruptible. He wouldn't trust anyone else in the JL to pull the trigger and do what's necessary if he was to lose control beyond saving. Bruce knows how to work around Clark's strength, speed, and intellect better than anyone. Clark would want to be stopped ASAP. He trusts only Bruce to do the job, do it quickly, and not be compromised by emotions or personal attachment.
They never say it, but I think Clark knew/suspected that Bruce had contingency plans for the whole league.

I mean Batman even has multiple contingencies for HIMSELF. It's not that he doesn't trust the league, if anything it's the fact he trusts them so much that he felt he HAD to make plans like that.
Batman even recognizes that he could be manipulated or controlled or fall to evil. Wielding power like the league has and just trusting that the power of friendship will make it all work is reckless naivety
I do understand how you would feel some type of way about your friend having such plans, but the best way to move forward would be for each member of the core league to train specifically to counter each other.
So rather than have a payload of info that can be stolen, instead each member is just naturally keen to how to combat other members. Thus if any one or two fall everyone already knows what to do.
You pretty much nailed it. And if Batman told them anything, then they’d just come up with a way to counter the very contingency plans they now expect to be used on them

@@johnlawful2272 That hasn’t happened, but Superman will still hold back against such opponents, whether it’s to prevent collateral damage or to conserve strength and prevent tiring out sooner.

Lmao Rob mostly just emphasizes whatever the writers write in any given story he covers. Dude gets super excited about everything. Every one of his videos has some super uber cool/powerful omnipotent moment for a character. It's is like clockwork.
I would rather know you have a contingency against me if I go evil because I would want that (if I was good). I wouldn't want to have a situation where the trust was so silly and simple as "trust me, bro".
The problem is he didn’t tell them he had them. He didn’t have to tell them what his plans were but tell them that he knows how to defeat them if things go wrong, which is reasonable.
The worst part is that he had this information written down and logged somewhere. That kind of information shouldn't be available for retrieval by a possible third party.

Honestly. Im with batman on this. They are far too dangerous to NOT have some kind of failsafe against them.
Magnesium actually detonates electrons and acts as a reducing agent. O2 molecules gain electrons from Mg so yes, it will oxidize.
To expound on that, Mg oxidizes so rapidly that it releases enough energy to tear molecules apart which releases more energy... Moreover, if Mg is submerged in water it aggressively separates the H2O by stealing the oxygen and releasing hydrogen gas which is itself explosive.
Funny how plastics man weakness is cold, but how The Hulk is constantly referred as the strongest while just throwing / moving / teleporting him to space would do the trick.

One of the greatest Justice League sotries ever told. This era of JLA comics is my favorite. That JLA title, the one with the big JLA in bold print on the cover, is my favorite monthly title for a team book or any monthly book.

Honestly the beginning of this reminds me of Justice league: Doom but with more justice league members and of course they changed the villain and plot. Still a cool concept.
Tower of Babel is literally the story that "Justice League: Doom" is based off of.

Nice throw-back. I remember reading Tower of Babel as it came out, and it just blew my mind to see the entire League get neutralized so quickly. And when the "why" was revealed, I was like "Of course it was him. That's how he rolls. And I would have voted to keep him in, because I believe he was right. He was in a lose/lose situation, but he did what he had to do.
I love how Batman gets out before they vote, but I've always imagined how dope would it be if he just stayed and told everyone "well if I'm out, then you can get the fuck outta my space ship" and everyone would be like... "oh shit he's right"

Which both take Batman Contingency plans on the Justice League to make them dead or neutralize them.

Chemistry major here, and yeah, you pretty much got it. Mg can burn underwater, and the hydrogen released can burn in the air.
Side note, I am switching majors to materials engineering next year. William Stryker inspired me.. haha. Carbyne bundle filled carbon nanotubes are a real-life close match for adamantium, in terms of tensile strength at least. Batman's cape in The Dark Knight even showcased some metamaterials, that actually exist. Rediculus as they often seem, comics often do inspire actual science. So, thanks, Rob, for making that inspiration all the more convenient.

Can I just say something real quick about Superman in this. Why is it that it's so difficult to show his intelligence consistently. Like right here with the Brainiac device. My main gripe with this story is explained in the video title: *Batman’s CONTINGENCY plans are not meant to be lethal or brutal, only DISABLE the Justice League members should they go rogue. They were altered by Ra’s Al Ghul to kill them. ALTERED. Some Batman haters and critics will just eat up anything that can be twisted and/or used to discredit his character.*
How does setting a guy on fire only disable him?
@@dragonproductions236 It's pretty evident Batman hadn't made or even finished some of these plans, which is actually touched upon by one of the characters if you watch the full video.
Obviously, if Ra's - an *extremist* - didn't get his hands on Batman's contingency plans, he would have thought of an alternative, even, to using magnesium, or would have at least used it in a less extreme manner.
Batman didn't make the plan. He would have disabled Martian Manhunter, not kill him.
I love how DC and Marvel studios have done a continual update of the Tower of Babel with the basic "Scripts of Babble"

I mean for real, most modern refrigerator designs have the freezer device attached at the bottom of the unit. Walk into any restaurant and the refrigerator won’t even have a freezer attached. It’s a separate device.
