That's actually a good question: Why doesn't Bruce/Batman just cripple the Joker? He has a rule against killing, not against leaving villains paralised.
Especially given he does it his Rogues Galleries thugs but never Joker, Two Face etc. The closest Bruce did this was in the DCAU with Bane only because he knew he would recover quickly because of the Venom
Because he believes that everyone can be redeemed i think its dumb but thats what his moral code is

Because it's comic books that's why they need Joker just as much as they need Batman that's why Superman and Spider-Man don't kill their enemies as well it's not rocket science it's very easy to understand
Here's a better question. Why doesn't anyone else in the DC kill Joker instead of them expecting Batman to do it?
To see a Joker actually get what he wants and realize that he bit off more than he could handle is a hell of a story to me.
Turning his intrusive thoughts into another alter ego and weaponizing it is the most batman thing ever

He was part of the original story, when this was the main story. It was a cult, that the Joker was working and ends up being very weird in the story.

I mean, Batman says he never kills, yet the majority of people who fight him end up dead or crippled.
There is a whole video on here about the extremely deadly physics of Batman.
He's gotta pay the bills. The MCU is beyond repair, so there's not as broad an audience. I have also critiqued the video titles over the last year, the titles began to feel AI generated. To Rob's credit; *titles were changed.*
However, it is *January.* A content creator earns the least amount of money during this time of year. I can let it slide. There's no way he likes having to play the YT algorithm.
(PS: Rob if you read this, I've been following this channel since you were on PKA *years* ago. I will watch a built in ad at the beginning of the video if it pays the bills.)
Bro he has been doing this for so long, I'm considering unsubscribing. So many "Story Explained" videos from him that I have to watch 2-3 times just to realize "Oh he hasn't actually explained anything about this comic, but spent 20 minutes talking about other stories/issues that this comic references."

@SetoShadow41 Funny enough (odd phrasing I know) Joker’s known Bruce was Batman for a while. Like “a while” a while! Almost a decade now, since Scott Snyder’s amazing run! Hence why we have Death of the Family. It’s really cool! Hope this helps

I like the idea of batman using prep time.
It forces the writers to come up with a better story than say Superman/Goku punching hard.
Animated fighting sequences look way cooler and can have more meaning, than an animated forensics nerd out session.

Kind of gives a better explanation to Batman's whole "no killing" stick, because if Batman kills, Zur would completely take over. Though if this somehow turns out to be Joker became Joker as it was the only way to keep Zur En Arrh in check, somehow... I don't know how I would feel about that.

@@nature-kv3xe Facts. All the new fans and ever the new writers love to forget, ignore, and try to hide the golden age Batman. The like to think it starts at the TV show version. The original Batman absolutely killed and used guns (he was a damn marksman that would put green arrow and deadshot to shame), yeah he left guys tied up for cops at times but he also left plenty of bodies in his wake.
This story feels like a combination of Spider-Man with the Venom symbiote and Superior Spider-Man. There's so much Spider-Man in this story they even touch on how everyone Peter, I mean Bruce, loves getting hurt/dying
It almost feels that the big two are getting ready to trade
When you look at it down to it's core, they are more or less the same.
Both make use of prep time to devastating, had family die (more than once), have an enemy that knows their identity/their every weakness. Has an enemy they get along with as often as fight against. Both are constantly holding back.
The main difference between the two of them is their powers, and the fact Spidey actually THRIVES in chaos and Batman loses effectiveness in chaos he didn't plan. Look at every time Batman loses. It is always when someone throws him off his game and makes things stop going along with his plans.
The vision of Zur coming out of the fire... Beautiful 🤩 Gives me spawn imagery.
Hugo Strange says in Arkham City that Batman is as much part of the problem as every other villain he refuses to kill. In fact it might actually be much worse, because the villains enter in contact with him and re-emerge with a new purpose, usually vengeful, endangering ever more people now, so Batman is basically acting as a mutagen, and all because he refuses to take out the trash. His refusal to kill is only making Gotham's crime stronger.
This isn't just a problem for Batman, it is every hero that refuses to kill or depower or permanently injure their foes.
The real villain is plot armor.. if Sups off'd everyone. There'd be no more story. If Bats off the Joker there's no more story... Joker needs Bats just as Bats needs him. Bruce is so shoulder deep in that life. That the thought of stopping would turn him more crazy than he already is...

I could argue against that with comic book logic but you're totally right. Give Martian Manhunter some love DC.
But you can just say "Batman's mind is beyond repair" or has psychic shielding and blah blah blah, it's the same as how Failsafe took out Superman. (The power of plot.)

Just so u know rob, this was a legit fun story.
This story makes something new using a lot of old concepts and simply expands on it.
None of this is the wrong or right way to think, just an interesting story involving batman's traumas and struggles.
I love the interview when they're talking about the suit for the flash movie and they tell Michael it's basically the same but this time you CAN TURN YOUR HEAD

I suspect that the Joker is a psychological mentor, and during his training, he caused him to lose his memories. This is also the origin of Zur.
I thought this persona was explored years ago in the comics and it resurfaced again during the Gotham War.
As one that loves 89 Batman the brief dialog about him not turning his neck was great 😅
I remember that Zurr-En-Ar was Bruce’s back up in the BATMAN RIP event when he fought Dr. Hurt who’s pretending to be Thomas Wayne.

Batman becomes Batfleck and goes to war with Zur and Joker. 1:28 All joking aside though it just seems to me that DC is getting back at Geoff John's for making the story of three Jokers and they tried to do it themselves to make it continuity and they screwed that up.
However I do believe zarsky is trying to reference the three Jokers since he made the red mask Persona be the main guy to create Joker in the first place from most of the Batman Multiverse.

Imagine if The Batman Who Laughs tapped into his Zur-En-Arrh
No one can plan for everything, but when you have tons of small stahes, agreements, data, etc., like a miriad of small backup plans, and if you have enough wit to recombine those into a plan which suits currennt situation, depending on their quantity, you pretty much can create an illusuon of readyness for everyone. Tested tons of times. Works good, althought not 100% of times, obviously.
So, I guess we can assume, that Batman has a plan for everything ;)
