OMG, if this isn't Confirmation on trying retwisting my micro locks. I'm scheduled in two hours to get my hair retied cia interlock but my loctition suggested a retwist instead and i panicked. Then i see your video before my appointment. God is good and so are you and your locs. ❤🎉
Oh i love this! How many locs do you have and is your loctician familiar with microloc maintenance? Just make sure you check the products she uses first because my niece got her locs retwisted and they put in a super heavy product which looked amazing at first but it didn't wash out and now she has hella build up!! Be careful with those locking gels!
@@theminimalistnatural hey there. I have 313 locs and 4a type hair. The retwist took an hour off time wise which is cool. My loctition is very adamant about healthy hair so she used a light gel and im excited to see how it progress. Thanks for the reply.
I retied twice and been retwisting since and I'm 9 months loc'd. I love that i can do them myself if my loction is busy or booked. I do retie my edges until them become loc'd
Im so glad to have found another person retwisting their microlocs! I just did my retwist a few days ago and I used lottabody mousse. Surprisingly its firm and still holding up. I also spray with a little Spritz holding spray so maybe that has some to do with it lol
@@theminimalistnatural In my 6 months of having locs I have only retwisted twice and I did one retightening a few months back but it took so long that I wanted to try retwisting. And I really like using mousse because its little to no build up.
@@DejaLanaethat’s my goal to extend my retwist time. Did any locs marry? Also I don’t have microlocs because I thought the retie process was/ is ridiculous - cost wise as well as time wise. So I am definitely watching as they look beautiful. I also love my traditional locs as well.
I alternate between retwisting and reties. But, I came here to say how I struggle with trying to maintain my length until I see your videos. 🤩 I started with two strand twist and some of my ends are 😢. I think I'll give it another few weeks before grabbing the ✂️
@@theminimalistnatural I did a retwist down to the ends this weekend. I might have saved them, but cutting is still pretty high on the list of possibilities. Yours are just 🤌🏾🤩
Greetings! I love your hair so so much, especially the uniformity of your locs. I installed mine with twists 16months ago. Many factors led to me not having uniform locs, including me going back in to split most at the front. So the smallest sizes are at the front( my size preference) As time goes on, I have seen that the locs at the middle of my head and the back are double in size of the ones at the front and it makes the back of my head look flat. It looks worse when I have alot of new growth. So I'm thinking of taking the big ones out and splitting them in two. But I'm scared of the outcome. It might look even flatter and I don't know how to deal with that. please what do you think. I have struggled to get used to the size disparity but I just can't and I don't want to continue disliking my locs for this reason
Im not sure what to do. I know that would drive me crazy. I would probably restart mine if I’m being honest. You can comb them out and start again and make sure you do the same size this time!

I just use oil and water, but using mousse sounds like a good idea for good hold.

I do both. Interlocking every 12 weeks and retwist every 4 weeks
How long do you leave the clips in?
overnight!
I quite going to get reties......I now retwist my own hair. Retie is overrated in my opinion. NOPE!
