      Probably by Lyra or how her name is, she clearly did see silver and thought nice way to frame him
      Why would she do steal a Pokemon from her father? Simple he didn't want to give her another Pokemon but she wanted a second Pokemon

      Glad you posted this because I had been wondering about this exact thing after watching the video. It actually makes sense, or at least I think it does. The game seems to treat Steven's Metang as though it belongs to the player despite giving control of it to the NPC. So as far as the game is concerned when it evolves, it's YOUR Metang that evolves. That would explain why you can teach it moves and why you get Pokédex credit when it evolves.

    This video actually got me curious about a few different things, and made me want to do some tests of my own, specifically for some things regarding Black and White and most prominently the Zekrom rumor. My own tests show different results than what you got. My initial test was looking at something you seemed to overlook, that being what happened when you had a ground type lead. Zekrom never tried to Fusion Bolt my Krookodile, it instead went for Light Screen every time.
    I was also just talking about this with some friends and realized I didn't check about the rest of it, and having grabbed a Zebstrika to fill the 6 mon requirement to keep Reshiram outside of my party, I figured I could easily try. I also found different results than you here.
    In my initial test using a level 29 Zebstrika (if this matters at all, it did in fact have Lightningrod for an ability), Zekrom only used Fusion Bolt 1 of the 6+ times I tested it, using Zen Headbutt every other time. When I tried leveling it up to 100 using rare candy cheats, the number ended up being closer to 50/50 on if Zekrom used Fusion Bolt or a different move, usually Light Screen. I didn't keep an actual number tally, so I can't say if the numbers were actually 50/50 on Fusion Bolt or another move, but if they weren't roughly an even split I think it had more to do with what move I used, as I noticed Fusion Bolt was more often used when I lead with Flame Charge where as Light Screen was more common when I initially attacked with Shock Wave (this is likely a coincidence though).
    I'm curious as to when your save point was for these tests. I've heard on some streamers' warp point races that making a save state in a battle and reloading it will lead to the same results every time, so it is possible that could have been what was happening to you (I made my save state through all of this right before initiating the Reshiram fight so I could try and have as clean of a test on Zekrom as possible).

    • @adamspeiser6449
      @adamspeiser6449 9 месяцев назад +10

      Most people are saying because it checks for if the Pokemon you use is immune to the move or not. If so, it is not likely to use it. If so, then it will try and use the move. So it is hardcoded to an extent most likely

    • @7eevee572
      @7eevee572 9 месяцев назад +11

      @@adamspeiser6449 While that could explain the tests with Krookodile, it doesn't explain the ones with Zebstrika. Teravolt would make it so that Lightningrod didn't matter so if it was hard coded to use Fusion Bolt it would still be using it against Zebstrika, especially if it was a guaranteed kill on the lower leveled one. If the AI is smart enough to check for immunities, I would expect more consistency on using it there.
      Still, you make me realize that I never did test this with a mon that resists without Lightningrod, so there is the possibility that the AI could be getting tripped up because of it. That feels worth looking into

    • @adamspeiser6449
      @adamspeiser6449 9 месяцев назад +2

      Well that is very interesting then. I have no clue either and do not have ready means to test it, but I wish you the best of luck if you decide to do so

    • @7eevee572
      @7eevee572 8 месяцев назад +13

      I finished doing my second set of tests and found some surprising results. I wanted to try different resistance levels to see if that mattered, so my team ended up being the Sandile (immune), Klink (neutral), Ferroseed (resisted) [and all three's final evolved forms], Zebstrika (for abilities), and Rotom (quad resistant when in mow form). I wanted to use the universal randomizer to give myself a Rotom as a starter as it is the only pokemon accessible at this point in the series that is quad resistant that wouldn't potentially tick the same flag that using Reshiram might in this battle (aka Zekrom). I also kept track of how many times I tried each test, doing 6 for each pokemon this time (maybe a few more if I lost track, but I know I did at least 6 for each and it shouldn't skew the results much either way considering what I got). Once again, I made sure my save point was before the Reshiram fight to make sure I got as pure of battles as I could and went into testing. My results surprised me (the number before the name is the mon's level):
      100 Rotom - 6/6 Fusion Bolts
      27 Lightningrod Zebstrika - 4/6 Zen Headbutts, 2/6 Fusion Bolts
      100 Lightningrod Zebstrika - 3/6 Light Screens, 3/6 Fusion Bolts
      25 Klink - 6/6 Fusion Bolts
      100 Klingklang - 6/6 Fusion Bolts
      25 Feroseed - 6/6 Fusion Bolts
      100 Ferothorn - 6/6 Fusion Bolts
      22 Sandile - 6/6 Giga Impacts
      100 Krookodile - 6/6 Light Screen
      So I does in fact seem like the use of Fusion Bolt is scripted when not faced with a pokemon that should be immune. Interestingly, the AI does seem to be tripped up by Lightningrod to an extent, as Zebstrika once again didn't get hit with Fusion Bolt every time. Curious to know if it was just Lightningrod, I went and grabbed a Motor Drive Zebstrika and tested that one too. Sure enough, it also wasn't always hit with Fusion Bolt every time either (29 Motor Drive Zebstrika - 5 Zen Headbutts, 1 Fusion Bolts; 100 Motor Drive Zebstrika - 4 Fusion Bolts, 2 Light Screens) so it seems that the AI is somewhat tripped up by abilities that would normally make an opponent immune to the attack.

    I knew that Silver wouldn't have the shiny starter. The game produces a new Mon most of the time whenever you encounter them. We actually saw this in some of the older games. Someone found a shiny Electrode in Gen 2 when you have to knock out 3 of them in the Team Rocket base. He ran from it, and it was no longer shiny when he fought it again. It's also possible for Wally to find a shiny Raltz in Gen 3, but it won't be shiny when you fight him later.

    for rumour 2, you could also try using a ground type to see what happens, because if there is in fact some AI in there, N would know that fusion bolt would do nothing against a ground type

    That first rumor was crazy. I wonder if you are able to level it enough that it would change the level of Metagross when you fight Steven, or if giving it the different moves such as Iron Defense instead of Psychic and Meteor Mash instead of Reflect/Metal Claw would change Metagross' moveset when you fight it.

    • @toxicpurpleflame
      @toxicpurpleflame 8 месяцев назад +10

      It most likely would not, as npc's pokemon are for the most part are already set to specific levels and moves for fights so even Leveling the metatang through this and changing the moves it will not effect the metagross in the future (basically every time you fight certain npcs, even if its multiple times, the data of their pokemon is locked for each instance of a battle. The only way to change that would be to mess with the game's code)

  • @whitefox411-gamer7
    @whitefox411-gamer7 8 месяцев назад +7

    What if you lead with a Ground type?
    Also, in Legends Arceus, several side quests require you to give Pokemon to trainers. You can respond by giving each of them Alpha Pokemon and Shiny Pokemon. Or if you are extra insane, Shiny Alpha Pokemon. Which would result in the hub town filled with giant shiny Pokemon everywhere.

    I remember messing around with cheats when I was a kid and used that exp glitch, and got curious and tried it out during the catching tutorial in dpp, leveled up Dawn's Chimchar, and when it learned a new move the hand that usually autoselects the menu options started picking the "No" option in an infinite loop, since it asks "Would you like to forget a move to learn this new one?" followed by "Are you sure you want to give up on learning this new move?", so yeah that was pretty much the first time I softlocked myself in a game and learned the true power of cheat codes
