the lombards dont generate a plus of ressources. They just convert them, so 700 coin in 350 wood and 350 food. Only with one shipment u get more ressources out of them.
But if the lombards do 1/s food and 1/s wood for coin and 100 coin is equal to 100seconds, wouldnt that make it 100 food and 100 wood for that 100 coin over 100 seconds. They are described as favorable trades over time.
I'm guessing the "marco polo" card is an internal reference to aoe2 where "marco" and "polo" were 2 cheat codes that allowed you to explore and see the whole map, respectively

I feel like they should update the old european civs since they are throwing around the whale spawning card, Mexico got it and now Italian gets a Team Variant, i feel that limiting them to 2 makes it so we dont see it used much but giving a card to spawn whales/fish to civs such as portugal would change the meta on non whale maps.
Yeahhhh, lots of old civs need at least a card or even an entire overhaul, like the Spanish recently received. For example, Ottomans, Germans and Russians I'd say are now severely lagging behind the power creep of the newer DLC civs.
Bruh Italy has only 1 factory ??? and has only 1 mill card but have 25% more food to gold instead of gold to food. This is ridiculous idk wtf the devs were thinking.

In treaty it can barely go toe to toe with normal civs like spanish and portuguese in terms of eco and not to mention the need of using the lombard from time to time during fight. French and Maltese or Chinese eco surpases it big time. And Italy has literally just 1 good unit overall this civ is absolute garbage for treaty.

The Marco polo card reveals the entire map, doubles treasure rewards that you pick up, and gives everyone's already collected treasures to them again.
There is a historical precedence for Venice and its amazing.

I think the Lombard building would work really well for an Age of Mythology Civ investing to gain favour over time.

try building 5 lombards and you will see how much gold you can make .
