    As healer that tanks on light side truly worth overcoming tank anxiety. Like dps melees you become more observent, hats off to those who can remeber content/direction lol my internal compass is broken

    Tanking is the best, casually walking around with 10-16 vuln stacks and still eating tankbusters. Bah gawd it feels so good!
    Then there is the thing where most tanks are some of the most relaxed people around.

      I was leveling in alliance raids and was getting hit by mechanics accidentally and could barely tell cause I maybe lost 5% of my hp lol it was the funniest stuff to me

    o/ tank player here, the thing I really like the most about tanking is definetely the amount of agency you have on how you aproach a fight

      Yeah I lowkey forgot to bring that up in the vid :P
      I really like feeling like the conductor of the fight, like I can position it for better uptime for everyone else, or keep it as still as possible so melee can hit positionals or just stick to the boss, throw out shields and heals on people who may not need it, I like that agency that comes alongside tanking cause it helps keep my attention and keeps me constantly paying attention during the fights

    They need to give TBN the blood price treatment. Let it restore hp based on the value of the shield. Increase torcleavers' potency and give it more mp gain, and I think this will be a decent band-aid fix.

    Leveling warrior was such an absolute blast. I did it largely with fates because it was so nice to just wrap up the whole spawn and blow them apart with AoE. The new ground pounds are some of the most satisfying impacts I have seen yet.

    One of my friends thought it would be a hilarious idea to walk into the center of the arena in R2 as the hearts were coming out with Hollowed Ground on, that was the faster 8 Vuln stacks I have ever seen in my life (it would have been like 24 if it didn't cap at 8 in that fight lmao), but it did remove half of the mechanic for the rest of the party for 10 seconds, a very weird, but hilarious use for Paladin's tank invuln lol

    while it would be nice to get a mid expansion rework like PLD did in EW, I think DRK is just going to get band-aid fixes. few ideas would be listed
    1.making blood weapon give 1000 mp per strike to make it 3000 mp at the end, currently we lost 1200 mp since it went down from 5 strikes to 3.
    2.make abyssal drain a combo ender, DRK has the worst sustain in dungeons that its almost trolling (or maybe the striking healers will love you for picking it). I would like it to go unleashed > stalwart soul/abyssal drain, abyssal drain would give HP plus either blood gauge or mp. something different from the other tanks and to help with our sustain in dungeons.
    3.either make TBN cost no mp or make it when it pops, give a direct crit to your next edge/flood of shadow. The counter-attack aspect of DRK has been in since HW with reprisal and low blow before they were role actions, StB TBN gave 50 blood gauge when it popped. It would be this neat little optimization mini game you can play to see what you can absorb and not get a vuln stack.
    current TBN a dps lose if it doesn't pop, neutral if it does, and only a gain if you have it stored before the 2 minute burst and you have almost full mp.

      Yeah TBN being at BEST a very situational gain in dps and 99% of the time being at best neutral isn't a satisfying reward incentive for the ability imo. And as someone who played quite a few dungeons with Dark Knight back in Stormblood, I still miss old abyssal drain, spamming it was the most caveman gameplay ever but it was weirdly satisfying as well especially for large dungeon pulls which is what dungeons still largely are. But I like your suggestion as right now making it the AOE version of carve and spit just feels wrong when carve and spit doesn't regen HP.
      I'll still play the job and level it cause I'm a sucker for it's aesthetic but yeah hopefully it gets some changes but I'm with you, I don't see a significant overhaul coming within 7.x but even a few bandaid fixes could go a decent way imo

      If i where in charge of dark knight i would probably put abyssal drain back on a 30 sec cd that doesnt share a cd with carve and spit and make tbn give you dark arts when it expires aswell as when it breaks.
      And i would love to get the old dark arts that buffed souleater and abyssal drain and their heal back. that way we would get at least a bit closer to the sustain of the other 3 tanks.

    WoW was my first MMORPG. I always wanted to try out the tank role in that game, and I did a few rare times, but I would at best run M0 DGs because the community didn't seem very tolerant of tanks making mistakes, so I kept away from high end stuff.
    I decided to change that in XIV by starting out as a tank with the intention of becoming a tank main. The anxiety to tank harder content was still there, but it quickly vanished when I was invited to a static the moment I finished SHB back when it was current. Seeing everyone be patient with me gave me the boost I needed, and nowadays, I even prog Ultimates.
    GNB and DRK are my babies (And I agree that DRK needs a rework).

    Tanking anxiety is the hardest thing about tanking. I personally found it much easier than playing at my best as a DPS. I enjoy tanking though, just not as much as being a DPS.

    MY favourite part of tanking is supporting the rest of the group actually. Like if you are doing a dungeon and see a dps/healer got vuln stacks. Protecting them with TDN when the boss does their roomwide aoe blast feels really satisfying.

    I really need to learn how to play Warrior and White Mage but the fear of fucking up and having the party wipe because of me is something that my soul can't handle, so for now I'll stick with my Dancer until I'm able to get more courage to try. I'm a super casual Dancer main, I'm working to try and get better with reading mechanics so I won't be a burden to my team and especially the healers.

    I think ill give tanking a try this exp. I dont know why im so afraid to In my 6 years of being a summoner main its not like i ever did anything harder thatm ex trails anyways

      I've been tanking for a bit now, nothing particularly high end, and honestly once you get over that initial hurdle that you're a bit more responsible for the group, it's really fun. The feel of it is very similar to just melee dps but a bit simpler and you just cycle through your mitigations when needed. Def would recommend trying it out and seeing how it fares for you!     Tank is very easy has long has you use kit properly. The plus side has well for trials is that you take some stray shots and keep going.

    Also please don't fully reworkd DRK please. I kind of like how DRK plays right now, we just need Abyssal drain on a lower CD and a small improvement on TDN. (1500 mana refund when the shield doesn't pop?)

      Yeah I don't know or think (would need to play more) a full rework is necessarily the way to go just some significant additions or revisions imo. I think separating Abyssal Drain from Carve and Spit and tinkering with Abyssal Drain is one change I would really like to see personally.
