I think the best part about this, is how much I feel it captured the old A Realm Reborn feel. Felt like I was rewinded back to when I started playing during 2.0 launch. How crafting was satisfying and useful throughout all the levels and exploring the world. Even if you lvl past them, you must still go back to either gather materials or kill mobs. It filled me with Nostalgia the first time I watched your first post, and it does again when I watched this Omnibus of a video with all of it together. Thank you Rath.
This is actually a lot like 1.0, because crafting gear in 1.0 was NECESSARY. There was no market board and NPCs only sold beginner crap, and all enemies were hard enough that you wanted to be maxed geared at all times, and people USUALLY explored dungeons solo

This was such a cool little journey to follow. So fascinating to watch you kill bosses that arent supposed to be killed solo. Where most people would've given up because they value their mental health, you just kept going! Looking forward to watching you continue your road to insanity. ☻
As somebody who made no teleports challenges, one way you could've saved up on money travelling between the main 3 regions would've been to travel via airship - depending on where you wanna go, the tickets end up costing less than the cost of tp
And you can use the Gold Saucer as a middle-man when going to Ul'Dah. Going anywhere to the saucer is free, and then going from saucer to Ul'Dah specifically is *also* free. So you can use the gold saucer to go from limsa or gridania (and then later foundation or radz-at-han) to Ul'dah for free.
I didn't know I needed a super cut BUT I NEEDED A SUPERCUT. Thank you Rath!! This is perfect. Love Solo's journey and the progress you've made. So excited to see the rest of Solo's journey :)
This hurts my brain to think of even attempting...you are genuinely incredible to me. I admire your tenacity and love for this game to do something like this. Good luck on your journey going forward and thank you for sharing it with us!
I was super busy over a few days, so I couldn't watch a section per day as planned. To make up for it, I binged the rest of it, and wow... what an incredible journey. Ngl, I actually teared up at the reception after completing 2.0 AND again after you cleared the alliances. That is a ridiculously cool and amazing thing you all accomplished. Ftm, there's a single Heavensward video up, and I'll definitely watch it. But I'm so glad that there are archived live streams of the actual work. More stuff to binge! Am actually so excited to watch the journey - when I catch up, I'll start watching live!
Fun Fact: Dzemeal Darkhold, Cutter's Cry and Aurum vale were originally raids in 1.0. This is why the bosses in those dungeons can be very hard lol. Baatral the final boss of Dzemeal was the most powerful boss in the game when Dzemeal was first released in the very first content patch in 1.0. He had alot of mechanics and many phases with tons of ads XD. It used to be a pretty fun raid.
ive been watching since the first episode, and its really noticeable how the voiceover and the edit quality increases throughout! incredible video(s) and incredible journey 🙌
ive used the solo videos as a way to fall asleep quite a few times (their soothing vibes are perfect for nights when my mind wont stop racing lol) so this is perfect
Thank you for the mega video! I've been following the series from the start, so it's been really interesting to see how you've overcome some of these challenges.
As a prior free trial player and now what I assume to be a well- accomplished endgame player having completed my first ultimate; seeing you run through all of ARR and seeing mechanics that are obscure or rarely talked about brought me back. Thank you for sharing your experience!!! I've loved every second of watching this journey and hopefully HW is a new challenge to tackle!
this has been the most intense video i have ever watched. it took me 3 days to finish but no matter if it was at home, on break at work or during working out i found myself cheering for every attempt. exclaiming "dangit we got this next time." for every failed try. i have enjoyed every second of this journey and i will be sharing your channel across my socials simpley because you deserve it and anything i can do as a viewer to spread this amazing journey i will do!
What an interesting twist of fate. I got my first Solo Only recommended video shortly after watching the Swampletics supercut. I wonder what new discoveries await me next?
Notably the damaged player aggro *also* exists in Palace of the dead! the boots on like the 30-40 set or something use it iirc. Also the mob survived the instant kill from the manticore swing, because it was damaged from the landmine before, which meant it was due for the passive life regen tick (as it wasnt aggrod at that point/not in combat), which happened in the same time as the damage, which only does exactly their current hp in dmg. Wonky interaction, but not as rare as one would hope lol, it leaves them with exactly as much as that one regen tick. :D
I've never heard about your challenge run and almost ignored that video, because i thought there is nothing special about beating the game solo nowadays. But i'm glad a friend recommended it, because, currently 3 hours in the video, it was really entertaining and reminded me of my time where i started the game almost 8 years ago, where for example i also crafted every piece of gear myself instead of using quest rewards, shops or market board. And with each hurdle you beat the video gets more entertaining and interesting.
I just want to say I started playing pretty much because of this video and I'm having so much fun gatherings mats, crafting my own gear, and jumping into dungeons. Thank you for this :)
Oh, this might have already been said and this is also 5 month late, but I used 100s of runs of Brayfox longstop to get every class to 50 and am kind of the brayfox master (joke) But against Hellbender if you use a stun right after peculiar light (basic boss centered cast AoE that inflicts magic damage taken increased) then bubble will never happen, you can do this for both bubbles in his rotation since he will not build up enough stun resist and your stun will be ready both times. It'll make the boss a little easier but it's also applicable in normal runs because bubble never happening saves DPS and makes the run faster. (I never thought I'd get the chance to share this info...) PS LOVE THE VIDEOS
Finally, you too mastered the wildly popular art of spinning bosses in dungeons. Gongrats! Missed opportunity to fully switch controller, though. Clearly the superior way of playing FF. Jokes aside: Its an amazing journey to follow. Congrats on the countless obstacles toppled on the way, and the result to boot!
This is... amazing. I have massive social anxiety issues, so I usually have to resign myself to playing solo, whether advisable or not, if I even want a taste of a game. I can't do PUGs, and more often than not my friends don't want to try the types of games I do. My brother has been trying to get me to play FF for a long time, but I've avoided it due to all the warnings , both personal and internet, about how hard it would be and that there are progression bottlenecks that would REQUIRE you to party up anyway. I had heard they reworked the experience a bit to potentially be more solo-friendly but that there was still a required raid. My brother sent me this a few days ago and I've been watching it on-and-off while grinding other games. It's been wonderful to see someone step up to the challenge, and be able to witness the progression and the rough patches from beginning to end. I was disappointed to see it all grind at a halt at the required Crystal Tower raids I had been warned of, but it was nice to see how much of the game CAN be soloed even with additional unnecessary restrictions... AND THEN YOU HIT US WITH THE SOLO SQUAD. I'm disappointed Crystal Tower can't be "truly" soloed, but I certainly wasn't disappointed with the solo squad. Kudos to every one of you beautiful gamers and your dedication, and thank you for chronicling the adventure!
@@twilightrodriguez5340 Honestly I don't. That's about the long and short of it. I'm on disability because I can't hold a job, I live with my family (who also still cause anxiety for no reason), they handle most public things on my behalf... it really does infest everything. Even silly crap like seeing a comment reply and trying to respond to it causes an amount of panic and procrastination. It's stupid.
@adhdoug925 honestly relatable, stay strong and I hope you're able to make the most of things. You're not alone... I mean I guess you are since you're playing solo but you know what I mean. 🙃
When I started the FF14 free trial in 2021, I ended up developing massive social anxiety that made me genuinely scared to play the game because of the required MSQ dungeons. It happened because there is a single required 16-man raid, and I was playing so bad someone thought I was trolling. I started to watch video tutorials of every dungeon before I went in, and I could feel the fear spike through me every time I realized I would have to queue for the next quest. I ended up quitting at the very end of Heavensward because I put the game down and told myself I’d do the dungeon tomorrow and never did. Two days ago, I bought and restarted the entire game on a new account, new character, everything, and things have been going good so far. They’ve added a new feature where you can play the dungeons with the computer instead of real players which I’m really glad is a thing. I’m not sure how it is for later dungeons or the single 16-man raid, but so far I’m having fun and enjoying the game like I did at the very beginning. I know it’s been 6 months, but ff14 is a pretty cool game despite being an MMO, and you can play a ton of it without ever interacting with another person. They have free trial that lasts for the whole game and 3 expansions in. Give it a try if you feel up to it.
Got recommended your video, and seeing all this content that took me a few months condensed to a few hours, AND ON SOLO ONLY, is a hell of a perspective

Watched your Susanoo video, fantastic watch. Decided I would come back and catch up on the journey so far, and yeah I guess I'm all in now. Another voice in the masses who can't wait to see how far you can go.
In terms of the crafting and the gathering, I tried doing somehting similar at one point where I levelled all gatherer and crafter classes simultaneously without using the market board to save money and I gave up at around level 30, so for actually dedicating to fully crafting not only gear for gathering/crafting but also for your fighting classes you sir have my utmost respect (not even mentioning the actual fighting and quest rewards parts)
It was a hell of a journey. Ngl I thought this was a ridiculous series at first, but I've loved following you. I've loved finding about about all these hidden relics of the past that I had no reason to know they were in there.
It's really been an honour to go through this alongside you- tangentially, of course, it isn't as if I was actually there for the streams as often as I wish I was. I'm eager to see what Heavensward brings, and whatever obscure and strange roadblocks it has in store.
Gotta say I loved the Dragon Quest osts throughout the video ! edit : I'm only at the end of the Brayflox part of the video so I don't know if you figured it out after that, but the thing with "swift completion" is that.. it has nothing to do with swiftness ! I play the game in french so that's how I put it together : this is a first timer reward, the english translation lets place for confusion it seems. There's no swift-related word in the french message for this, it's only "yeah gj for completing this dj with at least one first-timer" 2nd edit : Woaw, I love discovering the CT's mechanics lmao, usually in DF we clear it so quickly that we can never see the actual fight long enough, but this.. ! This feels like the canon challenge the WoL faced going in there. Amazing.
Thank you for the journey, you have a soothing voice and I like how at times listing out all the ingredients made it sound half like a cooking show lol Towards the end I was honestly worried most about World of Darkness as even with a full group those bosses hurt to tank and the bleed on the last one can be wild even when being taken care of (unless healers forget about you). Overall cool to see it done with a bunch of other solos and even some of the difficulties of the other fights with reduced numbers and compositions was great...except for Glasya lmao
This video is maybe the greatest thing I have ever seen!! I'm soo inspired by this! I don't have words for this. And when they all saluted you along the way, I had to cry. Amazing work!!!
Gotta say, I really love the Soul of this video, really shines through, Absolute Killer Job my man. i can see a lot of myself in your experience with professions in the first part of the video, brings back so many good memories
I've been watching this section by section per day, (am at Batraal currently) and I love the fact that your viewers, I presume, keep you company as you craft. I thought it was super cute that after so many cutaways where the snowman edges into camera view, he finally became your friend 😂
This video not only got me to download the free trial but doing the exact same ruleset to play through the game as far as possible without subjecting myself to month long grinds xD we will see how far I come. Thank you for getting me into the game, I am having a massive blast playing like this even though I spent 4 hours today waddling from Gridania to Uldah and going back and forth to get my lvl5 gear I needed for one of the first MSQ's xD
@@rathgames Finally got my Airship Pass. Time to get a new Weapon. Level 1 Weapon is starting to fall of a bit. Also the Plot thickens :D I can't wait for the weekend when I got more time to play
I started this game about a year ago, and only just finished the MSQ of ARR. I have to admit... I love this game, so much. I've levelled everything to at least 50, both crafting and combat, and I cannot WAIT to reach Heavensward.
Oh also, I know the Batraal struggle in a manner of speaking. When I leveled Blue Mage in this game for the first time, I made it my mission to level it solo and get every spell I could as soon as I could, also solo. This lead me to doing dungeons solo starting at level 16, and I continued to do them solo as I leveled as soon as I could. Even with White Wind, Mighty Guard, and Basic Instinct, Batraal was still able to kill BLU quite easily as I could not get the higher end spells, and so I could not use the full might of Blue Mage against him sync'd, as is a perk of a max level BLU. At level 45 I reached him with about 65 minutes left in the dungeon, and my first run of the dungeon, Batraal ran me out of time completely across 5 or 6 attempts. In my second run of the dungeon I was able to beat him. BARELY. By the end of the fight he was at 6% and I was attempting to kite him some. I ran out of MP for White Wind and my potion was on cooldown, and I needed 2 casts of Blood Drain to get enough to White Wind, so it came down to a make or break moment where Eruption came off cooldown just as he was reaching me, and I Swiftcasted 1000 Needles for the kill. Just as a Grim Fate was starting to go off when I only had 800 HP.
(At start of Video) I've definitely thought about doing this sort of thing myself, though I wouldn't go THIS hardcore simply because I wouldn't have fun with it. The question would be where I would draw the lines... It might be a fun way to re-approach the game while waiting for DT. I should think about it more. 6:33 Yea this is such a HUGE gripe for me. Whose bone-headed idea was it to make the lvl1 weaver mat a level 15 gatherer item??? It's so, so dumb. 2:46:00 Oh god this brings back memories. Very early on in my playtime, I decided to pick up miner. I, of course, had no idea what I was doing, so I didn't realize there were two places to get copper, and that EXACT A-rank was sitting smack in the middle of the CT spots to get copper ore. 4:11:20 Wow... I genuinely thought that Chrysalis would stop you. I've seen the rift phase kill so many parties purely from someone using the LB before it, I figured it was practically required, and I suppose it is on level sync, but man... That's incredible. And that quirk with the buffs getting extended? That's REALLY cool, I might have to make use of that next time I do that trial just because I can. I may be a healer, but a little extra DPS never hurt anyone, right? I should have expected others to be doing this challenge too, but somehow I didn't. That is awesome.
Wow, okay just finished this and I can say, what a journey. Being someone who rushed through the MSQ just so I can get to EW to do content with my friends, I never truly took a moment to appreciate how ARR truly was, I can imagine the amount of time and effort it took for you to make it this far Rath, and you truly earned the start screen for Heavensward. I'm looking forward to your solo adventures

The ending to this video made me strangely emotional, even though it's the first piece of content I've ever watched from you. Press on, Solo, press on and persevere. I'll be watching and cheering you on.
maybe next time i go through ARR i'll do this (but definitely with fewer limitations haha) going through it solo seems like it would really elevate the perceived threat of the antagonists and dungeons in the story, which would be a really nice change
Thanks for posting and sharing this amazing journey. I believe I will try this myself, perhaps not quite with the same restrictions (I might keep quest rewards), but at least without partying and relying on my schizophrenia to pretend there are other people here with me.
I've enjoyed this journey a lot over the months. I've lost the motivation to watch the full VoDs (sorry) despite your delightful humour, so these supercuts / edited videos keep me included. Thank you for all the effort you put into these.
I've seen it all when it was Sundered, but now that the Rejoining is complete, I can watch it again in its truest splendor! You inspired me to start my own solo character too. I adopted a different ruleset, as I don't have a ton of time myself, but I still think it'll come with some challenges at certain points. My ruleset is: 1. I may only use quest rewards and buy from NPCs. No crafting or marketboard is allowed. This means an easy start, but will it remain so easy as I hit the higher level plateaus? (Dungeon gear is fine too) 2. I have to do as many sidequests as I can before progressing the MSQ. Due to the wonky nature of quest reveal requirements being based on level, this is something of a soft rule. Otherwise I would have to grind to level 70 before I could start the MSQ due to the Reaper Unlock quests. (Though I kind of intend to do this in a manner of speaking, because I believe doing Praetorium unsync'd as a 70 reaper or 60 Gunbreaker for a first time completion will be hilarious) 3. For fun I have to try and sequence break as many dungeons as possible. Because of the unstable nature of ARR dungeon unlocks, this means I can unlock high level dungeons before progressing the MSQ. I unlocked my first dungeon yesterday. The first dungeon I have gained access to is Cutter's Cry. 4. Knowing that a 24 man is required to progress, I have exempted it from breaking the run. Since I don't have a squad of ironmen like you do, I will sleep soundly even though it will break my DFless streak. 5. I will also exempt dungeon runs with Grand Company NPCs, as this is required for achieving max GC rank, and the NPCs treat you as a nucleus so if you die they reset to the entrance with you. Also these won't be used for initial progression. 6. Echo/Epic Echo will be allowed, if necessary. Sometimes though, I am going to just unsync and pimp smack anything that I think it would be funny to break by being overpowered. (mainly because I've already pushed myself a lot in BLU solos and other similar solos in the past). Thanks for all the fun watching and inspiration! I'll never be a Rath Gamer, but I am a Rath Enjoyer!
From February 23rd 2023 to November 12th, There's so much more to do even now. I hope you'll look forward to it.

And chocobo porters! I save a lot of gil using them to get back to starter regions when I'm out in the wild.
Very, very early game, it's pretty much essential to use airships from whatever town your return point or freebie TP is in.
Your thumbnail game is improving Rath. I love it.
Thaaank you :'^) It's mostly from beneG's amazing work
Oh no. Supercuts. My greatest weakness
Blame twitter not me I swear I tried to stop them
I didn't know I needed a super cut BUT I NEEDED A SUPERCUT.
1:51:49
I love what they did with shieldbro, making him threatening and giving him early characterization in one fight was fantastic.
It used to be a pretty fun raid.
man that ultima final group get together had me in tears too
ive been watching since the first episode, and its really noticeable how the voiceover and the edit quality increases throughout! incredible video(s) and incredible journey 🙌
ive used the solo videos as a way to fall asleep quite a few times (their soothing vibes are perfect for nights when my mind wont stop racing lol) so this is perfect
Lol me too. I’m finally 4 hours in. Mind you I started watching a day after this video was posted
Yayyy me tooooo ☺️
Thank you for this, after you started streaming I lost track of the episodes. I'm glad I can watch this amazing series in one place!
Thank you so much :'^) im happy that you enjoyed it.
What an interesting twist of fate. I got my first Solo Only recommended video shortly after watching the Swampletics supercut. I wonder what new discoveries await me next?
This was, unironically, one of the best videos I have ever seen. I got more immersed in your journey than in my own MSQ lol
@@ZackTheGiant glad to hear it :0
Thanks for this. it's perfect to put on the second monitor while I grind every ARR relic book set.
4/10 sets complete!
This is a great video to have playing in the background while leveling in ffxiv myself. Very relaxing voice to listen to :)
Absolute madlad. Really impressive how much knowledge of the game this endeavor required plus a lot of patience, damn. Really, really impressive.
Oh, this might have already been said and this is also 5 month late, but I used 100s of runs of Brayfox longstop to get every class to 50 and am kind of the brayfox master (joke)
But against Hellbender if you use a stun right after peculiar light (basic boss centered cast AoE that inflicts magic damage taken increased) then bubble will never happen, you can do this for both bubbles in his rotation since he will not build up enough stun resist and your stun will be ready both times.
It'll make the boss a little easier but it's also applicable in normal runs because bubble never happening saves DPS and makes the run faster.
(I never thought I'd get the chance to share this info...)
PS LOVE THE VIDEOS
I love this thank you we did not know this. Hellbender is a huge issue for new solos so this strat is huge
perfect something to listen to and watch as I grind palace on my solo thanks for the vid and the inspiration to give the challenge a go myself Rath
Finally, you too mastered the wildly popular art of spinning bosses in dungeons. Gongrats!
Missed opportunity to fully switch controller, though. Clearly the superior way of playing FF.
Jokes aside: Its an amazing journey to follow. Congrats on the countless obstacles toppled on the way, and the result to boot!
its been a joy following these videos and occasionally popping into frighteningly confusing streams
This is...
How the hell can you function in the real world with massive social anxiety?
This was a really nice watch over a couple of days while playing XIV. I didn't expect all the solos to band together to go after the crystal tower!
Man i cant even rmeember how many times ive actually cried in sheer joy over this video while i watched. Genuinely wonderful content, and huge congrats
12:40 "I dont know if i would call 17 minutes swift"
bro it took me 40 minutes to clear sastasha with an actual party
plus i almost died twice
then again i was using basically full starter equipment + a hat
Wow...just wow. This is top tier content! Thanks for sharing with us all. I truly appreciated this journey (I have two hours left in the vid, but I couldn't help myself to comment after seeing you obliterate Ulitma Weapon) Keep going Rath!
The amount of work, dedication and patience it must have taken to create this... absolutely staggering and mind blowing. I was hooked from the moment I hit play until the ending and my RUclips auto-swapped to another video. This video should be at millions of views and hopefully my watching of it now sends it around to other people via recommended videos.
This makes me want to level up my crafters and gathers! Looked extremely fun to get armor for your fighting classes!
@@Drisurk yeeeeah go get em. Its super fulfilling to craft my progression gear myself, definitely recommend it if you aren't trying to rush through stuff :^)
i have been watching your journey for the last couple of days, though not quite finished i felt the need to share my respect for the dedication.
i have tried ff14 myself but didnt like playing it by myself so i stopped. seeing what i missed out on i just might try it again thanks to you
cant wait to see season 2 now. finished this one, hopes are high next season is just as good
Great work! I found the channel through this series and it is nice to see a content creator that focuses on FFXIV.
Im glad you came around to it :^)
It's really been an honour to go through this alongside you- tangentially, of course, it isn't as if I was actually there for the streams as often as I wish I was.
There's no swift-related word in the french message for this, it's only "yeah gj for completing this dj with at least one first-timer"
2nd edit : Woaw, I love discovering the CT's mechanics lmao, usually in DF we clear it so quickly that we can never see the actual fight long enough, but this..
1:12:00 into the video and honestly, enjoying this way more than I expected to. Loving the self sufficiency with your crafters :D
When you said solo after 281 days i scoffed, I didn’t think you meant you DIY’d all of your equipment and consumables.
I have just in the last few days started playing the game. It's been a blast and I loved this video. Thats a sub from me!
Thank you :'^) It means a lot.
This video is maybe the greatest thing I have ever seen!! I'm soo inspired by this! I don't have words for this. And when they all saluted you along the way, I had to cry. Amazing work!!!
Can I just say the music choice was on point for this entire thing? Can't wait to hop on the train for HW!
Wishing you the best :^) i hope you enjoy it
@@rathgames Finally got my Airship Pass. Time to get a new Weapon. Level 1 Weapon is starting to fall of a bit. Also the Plot thickens :D I can't wait for the weekend when I got more time to play
what a genuinely emotional moment coming out of the waking sands and seeing everyone there for you!
bro i remmeber watching the first vid, never would have believed you would do it forreal. thanks for the fun almost-year!! You are HIM
I started this game about a year ago, and only just finished the MSQ of ARR.
I love the editing in this video and the use of dragon quest music making things feel so epic and grand. I cant wait to see more.
ah yes, rathgames returns with some quality background noise. ive been following solo only for a while, its honestly awesome to watch the progress:)
Damn this video is a journey haha. Just made it to the completion of The Ultima Weapon and the celebration your followers made for you, and it made me tear up, haha.
Excited to finish the rest of the video!
Had to like this video out of sheer dedication of this project, well done. I'll be listening to it periodically while I edit.
God, everyone gathering around you at Vesper Bay following your victory over Ultima legitimately brought me to tears. Can't wait for the return of the Warrior of Lonely Light and his venture into the lands of Ishgard :)
Honestly it still makes me tear up rewatching it.
Understandably! I would cry too if I’d been going through that challenge for that long.
What a monumental achievement! Such a great watch and I have learned a LOT about the game from this. Incredible! Got pretty emotional at several parts ngl. I love this game!
Perfect an almost 5 hour background noise supercut??? Hell yeah! Amazing that it's so long. Can't wait to listen to it as I play.
5 days in FF14 , your video helps me alot, now I’m going to craft all days!!!
This is extremely calming. I use this video to fall asleep now. Like, I watched it before and your stuff's great. But it's ALSO good for falling asleep!
Today is Feb 23rd 2024, the official 1 year anniversary of this challenge initially starting
the thumbnail is AMAZING and I can't wait to slowly consume this whole video and relive the ARR magic 🎉
Thank yooou :'^)
when im watching this, i think to myself hey this feel like my feel trial experience although you took it to the extreme levels of hard, and so interesting to watch and how you solve or handle a problem and some things i can take note on
Anyone who is fan of Koichi Sugiyama music is solid in my book. I loved the way you utilized different tracks for different scenarios. When you beat Titan I really felt it. Haha. Thank you for creating and sharing this.
Im using this as inspiration to renew my want to play this game. Im gonna do something similar, albeit probably not as super strict, but enough to give me a reason to level my crafters and have fun in ARR
Thanks, Rath
Damn just discovered your channel and hard work today and I gotta say your sheer dedication is f*cking cool man, the celebration after Ultima got me tearing
keep up bro
The ending to this video made me strangely emotional, even though it's the first piece of content I've ever watched from you. Press on, Solo, press on and persevere. I'll be watching and cheering you on.
I've just watched this all in one sitting. That was incredible! 👏 Great achievement!
Watching with the Tuliyollal night theme in the background made this seem like just a relaxing walk in the night.
maybe next time i go through ARR i'll do this (but definitely with fewer limitations haha) going through it solo seems like it would really elevate the perceived threat of the antagonists and dungeons in the story, which would be a really nice change
Thanks for posting and sharing this amazing journey.
I believe I will try this myself, perhaps not quite with the same restrictions (I might keep quest rewards), but at least without partying and relying on my schizophrenia to pretend there are other people here with me.
Finally finished this video, amazing job. The lovely DQ11 music made it all the more enjoyable, can't wait to start watching the HW vids
Wonderful guide! Thank you.
been watching for a while but solo only is one of the best sleep aid series ive ever used… thank you solo man for sleepful nights…
Enjoy your rest gamer its very important
I've enjoyed this journey a lot over the months. I've lost the motivation to watch the full VoDs (sorry) despite your delightful humour, so these supercuts / edited videos keep me included.
Thank you for all the effort you put into these.
If you ignore all the "doing the content solo" part, this could also be used as a way to get through ARR's content as frugally as possible.
I've seen it all when it was Sundered, but now that the Rejoining is complete, I can watch it again in its truest splendor!
You inspired me to start my own solo character too. I adopted a different ruleset, as I don't have a ton of time myself, but I still think it'll come with some challenges at certain points. My ruleset is:
1. I may only use quest rewards and buy from NPCs. No crafting or marketboard is allowed. This means an easy start, but will it remain so easy as I hit the higher level plateaus? (Dungeon gear is fine too)
2. I have to do as many sidequests as I can before progressing the MSQ. Due to the wonky nature of quest reveal requirements being based on level, this is something of a soft rule. Otherwise I would have to grind to level 70 before I could start the MSQ due to the Reaper Unlock quests. (Though I kind of intend to do this in a manner of speaking, because I believe doing Praetorium unsync'd as a 70 reaper or 60 Gunbreaker for a first time completion will be hilarious)
Ooooo I love the idea of quest gear only. Best of luck!!
this 4 hour video is the reason why I finally stop procrastinating to unlock the Gathers and Crafters
