  • Come out for a friendly range session with the S&W Ultimate Carry 432 and 632 revolvers. We compare them to the Kimber K6S, another 6 shot offering. We found the 432-UC and 632-UC revolvers both needed to be sent back to S&W for some work.

Thanks a million for this video, Jesse & Wife! It is hard to find someone making .32 revolver videos; "Shep", "Halfmilesniper" & "Gun Sam" are about the only ones I have seen. I hope to see more!
    My oldest .32 is a 1918 S&W .32-20 WCF 6.5" K-frame, which will also shoot .32 S&W long.
    My newest .32 is a Uberti Colt-SA 5.5" .32-20 WCF with a 2nd Cylinder for .32 H&R Magnum.
    For .32 CC I have a modern Beretta Tomcat .32 ACP 2" 7+1.
To scratch my .38 itch, I have a Pietta Colt-SA 5.5" .357 Magnum that I can also load with .38 Special & .38 Long Colt.
It weighs in at 3 lbs, so recoil is quite tame compared to your 4 snubbies there.
The CC that really hurts to range practice with is my 2004 KelTec P3AT .380 ACP 9+1, weighing in at 7.4 oz empty. Its 3/4" width and loaded weight of only 12.3 oz makes it a virtually invisible, super-comfortable EDC. However, the tradeoffs are virtually non-existent sights, and a felt recoil more painful than my .357 SA, or even my .44 cap & ball Uberti Colt Walker, lol!
All of my .32's are super accurate & reliable, and fun to target shoot with all day long!
I'm in my 60th year, and arthritis is starting to creep in, so I really enjoy my .32's and wheel guns!

Glad you liked the video! I plan on getting my .32 H&R Mag gel tests out. I've got got 8 blocks of Clear Ballistics gel and two molds. Once I get my guns back from S&W, it is on!
I also bought a bunch of reloading equipment. It seems .32 is best enjoyed when reloading is an option.

I just ordered a SW 317. I’m a bit upset with S&W over their lack of QC. I’m not too upset to keep from giving them another shot.
A classic revolver is an American icon…and they work just as well today as they ever did.
it pains me to see such a classic American brand putting out poorly finished revolvers.

Doc... Well done. This is the 2nd time I have watched a video stating timing issues and less than excellent finish on these guns. I had considered Lipseys but I am not buying a tool that has to be "retooled" immediately after I receive it. Thanks for this review brother. I will go with Performance Center until Lipseys and Smith get their act together!

Dr. Canan appreciates that. She was nervous but due to her awesomeness, she does not disappoint!
Inspect before you transfer or rely on warranty…both of mine are back at S&W. My trouble is that there is no real competition in .312 chamberings! I personally think the LCR is ugly and to date refuse to buy one. I do however recommend them to those with less superficial views…

Great video, very detailed and thorough. I appreciate you and your wife's insight on these firearms, and can tell that you really do know your stuff on the subject. I appreciate your part 2 follow up info as well. Unfortunately I have had many similar quality experiences, which has forced me to take up gunsmithing as a hobby, simply to correct factory issues. As the saying goes, if you want something done right do it yourself, which is why I don't even bother to send them back to the factory any more. Fortunately, I'm at a point now where if a gun arrives 90% correct, I can make up for the other 10%... though that is still not ideal for as much as these things cost.
Anyway, great video. I subscribed today!

@@HollyrockFarm Nice! Yes, I reload a lot as well. 38Spl, 44Spl, 44Mag, 45Colt(black powder), and 30-30Win. I don't reload my semi-auto rounds, since I'm too lazy to find where the gun spits them out at, and the brass usually gets chewed up a bit from the action.

I just purchased a M340 M&P. I also have is little brother the M43c. I have 2 confirmed kills with the M43c 1 mole and 1 groundhog. I bought the M43c because .22LR is cheaper than 38/357. I wanted a lite weight pocket pistol when I’m outside doing yard work. My M617 is too big and too heavy. The gunsmith who did the trigger job on the M43c is going to do the trigger job for the M340. I was considering the Lipsey’s 642uc but for the money the M340 and Lipsey’s version are close enough. When you spend that amount of money on a new gun you shouldn’t have to send it back for repairs when it’s new in the box.

Well...My 432-UC is back at S&W for its second trip for continuing timing issues and end shake of the yoke. The 632-UC is at S&W for spitting lead, finish blemishes, light strikes, and not stabilizing bullets (possibly part of the spitting lead).
I just won another gunbroker auction (for a much more reasonable price) for another 432-UC. I'm going to get another so everyone in the household has a little lightweight .32 snub nose. I'll keep sending them back to S&W until they come back right. Then, I'll get their actions slicked. They're way more gritty feeling than my MP340 with the Performance Center action job.
I'm sold on the .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R Mag. I'm now 3 revolvers and reloading equipment in on it...

The Lipsey’s UC j-frames have the mag wheels and curb feelers the bling bling is not good if the rest of the doesn’t function. I would buy another M340. The U-notch rear site and the big dot front site no the M340 gives quick target acquisition.

The trigger on my MP340 with its Performance Center action job is much better than the stock UC guns. I also like the sight setup on my MP340 better than the UC sights. M43c the little brother to your M340. The craftsmanship sucks for what I paid for it. It has the same staking marks in the same areas as yours UC. S&W has had issues with not having the barrels properly lined up. That might be the problem with your guns shooting right. I have a M60-2 it has been great. I would like a M340 I would only shoot 38spl out of it. Having the M60 I don’t need the M340. But that M340 just and those sites are bad @$$. With the price of 38spl and 357mag around the price of 5.56. The are expensive to shoot.

Smith & Wesson shipping revolvers with burrs and timing issues!!! What's next? And if Taurus (yeccch!!) can make a J frame size revolver that takes six rounds of .327 Federal, why can't Smith & Wesson? Well, I guess what's next is that all my revolvers are Smith & Wessons, except for one Taurus 327CH!! It cost me less than half what your UC did, and it shoots everything to point of aim. Granted that Taurus revolvers are pretty much pre-broken at the factory, but considering the cost difference and the lack of innovation at S&W in recent years, I can invest an awful lot of time in making a Taurus reliable and still be ahead of the game. This particular Taurus just needed a couple of springs: the ones that shipped were so heavy, the revolver was useless! (You know, useless, just like the thousand dollar revolver S&W sent you!!!)

It is a lot to do just because, for me, the Ruger LCR is just too ugly.
If Taurus offered a light weight bobbed hammer option in .327 Fed Mag, I'd snatch one up. Then again, for the amount of headache with the current S&W QC department, having a Taurus modified to my preferences may be cheaper and less headache.

@@HollyrockFarm Taurus does offer exactly what you describe above, but with a 3" barrel, which to my mind is preferable... the 327CH TORO. That extra inch makes all the difference and an extra inch of barrel in a holster or waistband makes no difference in concealability at all, except for pocket carry. They are hard to find because they are still quite new and I suspect that Taurus didn't make all that many because they are concerned about a limited market, but there are two or three available right now on GB. (I can't believe I am recommending a Taurus, but in this case, it seems better than the alternative.) I am not quite ready to trust my 327 Taurus, but remain hopeful. If you do happen to buy one, tighten the sideplate screws immediately, BEFORE shooting. I was giving the Taurus a workout to get it to the point of possible trustworthiness when the cylinder retention screw fell out and I didn't notice. Based on internet reports, this happens a LOT with Taurus, so much so that they are perpetually out of stock for these screws. I have a couple of S&W J-frame screws on the way. They fit, but may protrude slightly.
