S&W Ultimate Carry 32 Mag Ammo
Join us on the back patio for some an informal gel test and ammo discussion for the 32 H&R Magnum for the S&W Ultimate Carry revolvers in .32 H&R Magnum. That 32 magnum may seem small but it is nothing to take lightly. Main takeaway, the Federal offering with the 85 gr XTP bullet is Jesse's current choice for defensive purposes from the offerings tested. It offers plenty of penetration without the excessive blast and recoil from the Buffalo Bore offering. The Hornady Critical Defense loading was adequate in all respects with slightly less felt recoil.

Join us on the farm for a range session with the Smith & Wesson MP340 and the Kimber K6XS. The S&W MP340 is a great little revolver. The Kimber K6XS has an awesome trigger straight out of the box. They are both great guns! (Caveat: Jesse's MP340 is a 2011 production.) Follow me on X: @JesseCanan Follow me on Rumble: rumble.com/v5axwp0-s-and-w-ultimate-carry.html Firearms Safety Rules: 1.) Come out for a friendly range session with the CZ P-01 Ω and the CZ Custom A01-C. Jesse liked the P-01 Ω so much he wanted to take one to its ultimate potential...and bought the CZ Custom A01-C. They're both great guns with VERY different weights and price points. The CZ P-01 Ω was discontinued in 2024. They're available on the used market and a close comparable for a left handed individual is ...

S&W Ultimate Carry J-Frame Unboxing

I unbox my new S&W 432-UC revolver to find unsatisfactory evidence of the cylinder front being scratched by the forcing cone…buyer beware. This is my 4th unsatisfactory revolver from S&W in 2024. It will be sent back to S&W for warranty repair. Both Lipsey’s and S&W will be sent a link to this video. I want S&W and Lipsey’s to succeed.

CZ Customs A01-C vs CZ 75 P-01 Ω Tabletop Review
That Model 10 is good looking, IMO.
Correct me if I’m wrong but does the A-01 C or standard have a tilted barrel????
Same as any other brands lately except a handful. Old is gold as always.
So what’s the verdict mine should be here tomorrow or Friday
No verdict yet. We got home from Myrtle Beach on Saturday. I’ve been busy with storm cleanup. So far, I like it. I bashed it terribly before because trigger was bad, the guide rod walked around (I know they all do but the H9 is different with its tab), and it didn’t stabilize the bullets. The beaver tail had a sharp edge. They seemed to have fixed all that. A break in period appears to be required. I may have induced the failures to feed by getting on the slide and slowing it down with my firing hand thumb. More will follow after I get more rounds through it for a better opinion. I’ll share my data table so far: Lubricated with Clenzoil 16 Critical Duty 135 gr +P (no issues) 60 Winchester 124 NATO (USA9NATO) -2 fail to feed from partial magazines during course of fire -1 fail to chamber from a full magazine 90 USA9NATO (no issues) - after firing and cleaning the gun now feels more broken in during manual manipulations
Lehigh makes a 100gr and a 75 gr . Wish 30 super carry had caught on so we can get some better bullet selection. If your cylinder is rubbing on your bbl you probably have enshake . I bought two of them , neither has your problem but they both have endshake . I worked for a S&W warranty station for about 6 years so I can take care of the minor problems mine have myself. Their qc is definitely not what it used to be
The rubbing seemed to be during the opening and closing of the cylinder. I didn’t feel the end shake during lockup but I’ve never been armorer trained on any revolvers. I ended up getting a viewer recommendation to send it to Nelson Ford out in Phoenix, AZ. He has it now…I’m excited to get it back! S&W had really disappointed me. It is upsetting.
I have a S&W 642. I’m carrying it right now. It’s +P rated but I have used defensive .38 Spcl ammo-lead nose hollow points-the old FBI preferred round. I’d appreciate your thoughts.
Those old FBI loads can vary a lot depending on the hardness of the lead used in the bullets. They’re likely not a bad choice. What brand are they? Maybe I’ll get around to gel testing them…
Great video! I yse Buffalo Bore's 158 gr. L.S.W.C.H.P. .38 Special round in my Model 60, I'll have to check out their .357 Magnum stuff now. I carry the .38 special round for a little more control, and it is still moving pretty fast out of a 2 inch barrel ar 1040 FPS.
I’ll have to add it to the list of the gel tests I want to do!
Man sad to hear but glad I came across this. I bought a Model 60 Snubby back about 7 or 8 years ago and it is still a flawless gun. Was thinking of picking one of the UC up but I'll just keep carrying old faithful for now. I'm tired of legacy companies pushing out low tier stuff.
S&W seems to have lowered their standards without lowering their price…and did not mention it in their marketing. It is a disappointment. I hope they return to greatness but am doubtful. I sent my 432-UC off to Nelson Ford in Phoenix, AZ. Hopefully it comes back awesome!
I had a Taurus 44 with a forcing cone problem. It never occurred to me that S&W would get so bad as to start producing guns with the same pathetic level of problems. Instead of 'keeping up with the Joneses' it seems S&W is trying to 'keep it down with the Tauruses'!!! Not a hard choice: buy the $400 Taurus and have to fix it, or buy the $7-800 S&W and have to fix that instead. And to think that S&Ws used to be perfection, right out of the box!
Exactly! They’ve kept the price but lowered the quality. Very disappointing! Nelson Ford out of Phoenix has my 432-UC now…should come back nice…
Smith & Wesson has arrived here in India with the guns which your honourable grandfather had .
Happy to hear from someone in India! It seems the Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers made it around the world! I found if they are in good condition and maintained, they are great guns.
I got my 432. I have none of the issues as stated in the video.
I’m happy to hear folks get good ones! I got 4/4 revolvers with issues. Hopefully S&W made a change and is putting out good ones!
Do you think oiling up that new gun might help with the mechanics?
I already cleaned and lubed it with Clezoil. It was having timing issues. I’ve got several more videos in the saga. If you go to the one with the 32 ammo gel test, you’ll get a rundown. I bought 5 revolvers from S&W in 2024. They all were unsatisfactory. I think S&W moved the goal posts toward lower quality being acceptable…my goal posts didn’t change…I think they’re now no longer compatible. I had one go three trips and it was still bad.
I got some of the BB +P outdoorsman in my UC. My issue was they kinda jammed in the cylinder after 6 shots. It took some aggression with the extractor, and then pulling to get them out. Did you have similar? Not sure if it's because the gun was already hot having put a hundred rounds of SW long before that, or if it will happen next time when it's a cold gun, but either way it's a worry. I have rare light primer strikes with the Wilson Combat spring kit, but I've examined the ammo and it's only when the primer is seated visibly a bit too deeply pressed. So I feel comfident carrying it with that kit, if I inspect the ammo first.
The BB +P seems to sticks a little, even in a cleaned gun. I’ve only shot the stuff loaded with the 100 gr XTP bullets. I sent my gun to Nelson Ford in Phoenix, AZ. I heard he is a master of the S&W revolver. We’ll see how it turns out in 4-6 weeks!
My barrel pin came out at 30 rounds, pin undersized. Call Smith right away as always great customer service. Found parts including small pin, fired five rounds no issue until I tipped on side and pin came out and I lost the spring. Smith customer service is always the best. Had mine an hour and it’s September 2024. Best to you as Smith will make it good.
S&W’s customer service folks were great about getting me a label. The folks finishing the guns were not great about getting them right before sending them back. I think their definition of good to ship and mine are different. I think they’ve cut their QC and now I’m expecting better than they produce.
thank's for sharing. The QC of the new smith's has been pretty hit and miss for sure. I've had badly misaligned sights, scratch marks, and sticky cylinders. The 43c came with an inappropriately weak spring with constant LPS. At least their customer service is responsive. It's like they are using the Keltec business model. Not a good thing to be sure.
I bought 5 revolvers in 2024 and all went back at least once. I sold 3, sent 1 to Nelson Ford in Phoenix, AZ to work on, and one is back at S&W for its second trip. I once held S&W in positive regard…big disappointment.
I got a $900 s&w poor quality revolver. Never get another penny from me.
S&W had a lot of past great experience points saved up…in 2024 they spent them all and went negative.
which one is the one on the bottom right?
S&W Performance Center Model 19 Carry Comp 3” I got it in 2020 for Father’s Day.
So kind of torn between the .32 and .38. Not a huge revolver guy and already have .38 special around for my .357 mag. Is the .32 worth investing in another caliber? My only other revolver is a redhawk in .44 mag.
If you reload, 32 all day. If you don’t I’d say check the online ammo sources and price out .32 Mag and .32 S&W Long. If you’re ok with those prices, the .32 is more enjoyable to shoot (unless you like more recoil). If you want ammo to not be a concern, go .38. For carry, in my mind, the 6th round is nice. My S&W 432-UC is going to Nelson Ford in Phoenix, AZ so see if he can get it right. S&W has been a big disappointment in 2024. Check out this video on the 32 ammo. More to come… S&W Ultimate Carry 32 Mag Ammo ruclips.net/video/-EnGh_7_iLg/видео.html
Got mine a few days ago and I pulled the trigger and it was softer and I said huh wait a minute and looked and mine was a new unit too. Yes they fixed a bunch of stuff. For me the softer trigger is the biggest deal. My dot never moves when the trigger breaks now. The previous was a bit too heavy. It seems crisper to me also. Very happy with this one. If it does well at 1000 rounds this is my new carry.
I noticed the serial number was different first (I'm weird like that) and the magazine release was setup for normal handed folks when I'm left handed. I tried the trigger and was pleasantly surprised! Mine has an average break at 4 lbs 9 oz. I checked the rifling engagement from recovered bullets fired into gel. It looks like they fixed the barrels. These things have new slides, barrels, guide rod assemblies, beavertails, and firing mechanism components. These deserve a 2.0 stamp. I wish they'd have incorporated some lugs for the RDS mounting plates so they were not solely using the screws for absorption of the recoil. That may not be an issue but the rest of the industry seems to have gone that way.
@@JZainbear I actually didn’t mind the heavy pull but for this gun lighter is better. But I think the way they did the trigger makes forces you to do correct trigger pull I believe 🤷♂️ I didn’t shoot it enough to even have any complaints but when upgrades are free 🤷♂️ you damn straight I’m getting them. As long as there’s not key holing it’s perfect
@@JZainbear just got mine back into “didn’t send all three mags back” so now I’ve got 5. I noticed right away the top slide is also black the other one had a grey ish greenish look to it. the trigger is lighter, and recoil spring is different. Even the barrel looks like it’s got rifling lol
Also got the QR code for a second optic plate. So now my 1100$ gun is better worth its price two plates and 5 mags lol
Just ordered one, gotta wait a couple months to receive but I'll post back once I've shot the gun. Did request DLC coating and a square trigger guard though. Great looking gun, excited to shoot.
Holsters may be an issue for you. You might try P10C holsters and see if those work. I have to warn you, you're gonna get really spoiled... Let me know what you think when you get it!
@@HollyrockFarm Will do, honestly a gun you can pass on to your kids/grandkids. Great video, you helped me pull the trigger on it.
@@HollyrockFarm I've got a custom holster company near me, I can always drop on by... I'll let you know, post some pics to of the gun with a square guard too
That 13 oz S&W must be very unpleasant to train with... even with .38's.
It is an awesome little gun! Well, mine is an awesome little gun...the current productions may leave something to be desired given my recent experiences with their UC revolvers. The only way training is not terrible is with low power .38 wadcutters. They're dirty but will allow some trigger time. Dry fire with snap caps is really helpful. My little 340 will shoot straight if the shooter does their part!
Once the best double-action revolvers in the world, now the worst quality-control in the world...!
I'm super disappointed with S&W. I trusted them blindly and now I expect them to disappoint...they lost a lot of good will from me.
your audio on this video is a fail
Agreed. I never expected it go get as big as it did. I'm since upgraded from just the iPhone mic to some Rode units.
Thank you for this info. I noticed buffalo bore has a new 32 mag standard pressure round made specifically for this revolver. Anyone have any intel on comparative performance?
I have some…standby for further…I’m going to compare them to the S&W Long loading…
Waiting on mine to come back as we speak. Sent it in Tuesday of last week. So I’m expecting it to be back within this coming week
I have no idea what kind of timeline they're running right now. I was without mine from 02/29/2024 - 09/19/2024. This version 2.0 had better run well! The trigger is certainly a lot nicer!
@@HollyrockFarm I asked and the trigger is 5-5.5 pounds they said they want send it out unless it’s there and want to any less. And I to can confirm it’s a new slide new barrel and guide rod the beaver tail and trigger. Got the emails with that word for word. I was told they would have it out from a week or so after they got it in. They got it on 9/11 no pun intended and I sent it in 12pm on tuesday the 10th. This Wednesday will be two week. We will see if I get a tracking number
Correct, we are the beta testers, they spent countless hours and years designing and Manufacturing the H9,, only to take another 8 months to completely rebuild it correctly because it was such a piece of trash,, Great company 😂
I was without mine from 02/29/2024 - 09/19/2024. This version 2.0 had better run well! The trigger is certainly a lot nicer!
@@HollyrockFarm 🙏
I’m not complaining about paying a hefty price for a S&W, but the cardboard box always gives me a bad first impression.
I'd gladly pay double if the quality was worth it! I've got a CZ Custom A01-C and I don't complain about its price at all!
The first gun I ever purchased was a S&W Shield 9 M2.0 and it was broken out of the box: protruding firing pin/defective striker. I'll never buy S&W again.
I used to trust them blindly. Now, I expect they're going to let me down. They used all the saved up good will they had with me.
Not to spam you- I highly recommend you ask Nelson Ford to install his extended firing pin in your 432-UC, the factory firing pins appear to be another weak point in factory QC. Just wanted to make sure you saw this while he has your gun. Hope you get to crack that bourbon someday 👍
Done!
Keep bringin the wheel gun content 🇺🇸🤠👍👍
Will do! I've got more gel tests and an update to do when my 432-UC comes back from getting worked over by Nelson Ford out in Phoenix, AZ.
32 she shot wayyyyyy better. 32 and even 22 if shot well with fast follow ups > 38 for recoil sensitive folks
Those .32 cartridges are nothing to sneeze at!
Such a disappointment
Agreed. Disappointing to say the least...
What is the advantage from the rolling break?
That is very shooter dependent. I seem to shoot the rolling breaks of hammer fired guns better. You're milage may vary since it is a preference thing.
What a bunch of useful information! Thanks for the upload
Glad it was helpful!
I have this same S&W UC and have had issues with light primer strikes. It’s going back to S&W for repair but gotta admit it’s kinda disappointing.
I called and talked to Nelson Ford out in Phoenix, AZ. I’m sending mine out to him. It sounds like he can get all the little problems sorted out.
32 Caliber is the Best Caliber
It has sure impressed me!
I would like the data table.
That is my preference, too.
As long as the information is provided I’m good, thanks for sharing the info. I know S&W has been having some issues lately. I fortunately got a good one . Have one coming for the wife. Have my fingers crossed
Hopefully you’ll have two good ones on your hands! They’re a great set of features!
Hey boss when you going to post those 32 H and R ammo test results. Interested in seeing those. Thanks for the good videos

I had a huge problem with my trigger not resetting due to the extractor. Sent it back. Took 2 months to get back but it came back right. Shoots great now and damn spot on
I had one with trigger problems. The rest had fit and finish problems. They did some major work and did not get up to my satisfaction. I wasn't being unreasonable. I was just looking for the quality I had known to come from S&W. It seems it is no longer to be had. ruclips.net/video/-EnGh_7_iLg/видео.html

It looks pretty good. Like u could use that meat in so many dishes
It started out a 4 lb chuck roast and after our little family of 4, there were no leftovers. It had a hard time making it to the plates…kept getting eaten as soon as it was pulled.

Anybody that pins all their hopes and dreams on any politician on either side of the aisle is in for a rude awakening. The politicians are there to fatten their wallets and flatten yours. The only thing you can count on in this life is Jesus, taxes, and death. Politicians aren’t there for us and the ones that are get flushed out tremendously quick. The lifer politicians are the ones that have ruined our country to a stalemate. Turn your life over to Christ and the rest takes care of itself. The government is broke and illegitimate. Saying all that, the joke was pretty dang good and right on the mark. Love the channel.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life…
@@HollyrockFarm Amen brother!
I know it’s been a minute since you uploaded anything so RUclips must like you because you just popped up in my feed today when looking at the Kimber K6XS. Hopefully you come back because I am actually enjoying your channel!
Thank you! My migraines have been going crazy. I’m planning on starting some ammo testing with gel. I’m running slow but not done!
The real SAD reality is they get away with it becauss a big % of their buyers pick one up and never fire it or even closely inspect it. I believe the j frames are going to get a dash update. I have two 43cs and both have gone back, both had forcing cone cut. Id bet the 43c-1 comes from factory with a larger cut to the forcing cone then they are currently doing. They will make it right anf take care of you, but it sucks to even have to deal with customer service, and be without it for 1 to 2 months while it gets fixed up. Some people it may be their only gun or first. Even if it comes back perfect, a 1 or 2 month wait on a new gun to be made right is a bit of a slap in the face after the price paid for what should be a premium revolver out of the box. S&w needs to do better with qc. Their name and reputation is rightfully getting tarnished if they continue allowing so many lemons out. They can and will make it right, id bet on that. Wish they all came out as good as I know they are capable of making absolute gems!
My wife lost interest in her gun after it came back and was still not right. It soured me on them. I sold 3 of the 4 and kept one to tinker with. ruclips.net/video/-EnGh_7_iLg/видео.html
Define “boogered up”… we didn’t use that descriptor in technical writing, English 505. Is it bare metal protruding and potentially cutting the operators hand?… or cosmetically defective? or hammered in like a chimp?
Well sir, that is a highly technical term for the metal that was protruding from the side of the barrel shroud that appeared to be from a wayward punch that struck and went sideways instead of staying true on the roll pin. It would not necessarily cut my finger unless I really tried hard at it. It would however catch anything you wiped against the shroud while cleaning it. It was an obvious error the person who made it would have seen and blatantly disregarded for it to leave the factory in such condition. ruclips.net/video/-EnGh_7_iLg/видео.html
What is the update since sending it back to get fixed and all the kinks taken care of that you did not like when you first got it?
Well, I sold 3 of the 4 revolvers. One went back 3 times and still was not right. They cannot seem to keep the forcing cones from coming in contact with the cylinder face during the open/close movement of the cylinder. I noticed the carbon would be scraped off part of the forcing cone and marks on the cylinder faces. The bushing between the yoke and cylinder made contact and a wear mark (some worse than others) on all of the frames. My wife soured on them and lost interest in her gun. I was so disgusted I sold 3 and kept one to tinker with. Bottom line, the will function but are not built with enough quality to justify the price or the name S&W. ruclips.net/video/-EnGh_7_iLg/видео.html
