Hello Adam, great video. Have any of the negative problems been fixed since this video? Like if the home kit has added more features or less battery drain? Also can these cameras like some Arlo auto zoom in on faces?
Looking at getting one of these cams. Not sure why the storage capacity is seen as a negative IF it holds 3 months as mentioned. If we were talking 3 days or perhaps 3 weeks even then yeah but as I don't know many people going on 3+ months holidays then I really can't see this being too much of an issue. It's like when looking at smartwatch reviews lately and the guys in the video talk about the battery of one being not so great because the one they're comparing it to is better ... then you find out the not so great one lasts like 15 days and the better one lasts 20 days. Then you just think, we have to be talking about some pretty fussy people to grumble about charging a watch once per fortnight.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I reached out to Eufy, told them what I wanted & they recommended the Solocam S40. I'm not really happy with their suggestion though. Yeah it has an inbuilt solar panel which is good but I can attach a solar panel to the 2C or the Pro, it's no big deal. I also told them I wanted minimum 2 cams at my home - front of house and rear. Not sure the S40 works with that setup as I've not found adding additional cams an option for the S40, unless you buy multiple S40s. After seeing YT reviews on them, I'm also not overly keen on a) the accessing of the files being a bit choppy vs the 2C/Pro and b) the files being stored on the camera itself on the S40 vs not on the 2C/Pro. More research required for now I think.
#1. Plus in the new updates you can specify the even clip length. So if you specify 2min I would be interested to see when it dies (is 10 events a day normal?) Plus the new 3C has a solar panel built-in like the S40. Comparison? #2. THE OTHER ISSUE that no one ever talks about on these reviews is the storage space being utilised more quickly when using higher quality cameras! e.g. 3C x2 versus 2C Pro x2. #3. So have Eufy finally fixed / added functionality for USB storage on the Homebase2? And if not, what needs to be done to setup a NAS (and what NAS is compatible)? Thanks guys!!
I have the eufy cam 2C camera system and I have had it for a year and a 1/2. Now the blue light does not come on. I'm still able to connect one camera but I'm not able to connect the 2nd camera. I called the eufy manufacturer and they said buy a new base system.
To view/work in HomeKit no. You’ll need a HomeKit hub to make automations or view the live feed outside of your network in the home app (eufy app will still work)
Thanks for the video. I like the camera but just after 18 days a fully charged 2C camera was down to 15% battery! And now a week later after I recharged it with just 2 motions, it's down to 72%. Must be something wrong? I have Humans only alerts, no red status light, 4 on sensitivity and no Home Kit connected.
Great video Adam which is why I've returned, thanks! With the Eufy camera (2C?) - In Homekit Does the red LED and the white floodlights work? If Not can you run them in both the Eufy App and HomeKit so it works? Thanks again. Love the channel.
Thanks for your support! the led does work in the home app but the floodlight does not as that is not a supported feature by Apple. the light can only be controlled from the eufy app.
Thanks for the great video. I consider to buy these set, but as I can see the video you recored 2 years ago - maybe you've got some advice to buy something different?
Thanks for the detailed info. but 1. Where doest it store the videos? 2. is there any Sd card slot? or will it save it on our Mobile phone? 3. Do we need to pay for cloud storage? hpw to set that up? and is that free? Thanks in advance
#1) Many changes to app since video posted. Functionality differs w/ Google Home + Amazon Alexa. HomeKit might have some nice extras but creates more problems than it solves. An updated 2023 review on ALL THREE is needed! :D #2) 16GB storage in Homebase 2 + 3. v2 states it supports USB but seems was withdrawn later. v2 supports NAS or Cloud ($$). v3 Supports USB3 + SATA2 + NAS + Cloud ($$). I wish all this information was in ONE place for all the Eufy range. Plus updated every 3 months.
I recently bought the eufy 2k pro cameras (because they seem to be the best HomeKit outdoor cameras) but I’m getting hit and miss with the recordings. Sometimes the camera will not record in the home app but it will in the eufy app. Then sometimes it will record in the home app. I did have two motion zones one in each app on and I turned the motion zones off in the eufy app but left them on in the home app. Should this fix my problem? Is there something else I should try? Thanks

HomeKit is apple’s smart home platform with its own specific features. You can use eufy cams in eufy app only and apple’s home app if you like. Both have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife oh ok, if I have Android what camera do you recommended in the same range of this Eufy's? Or can I use Android too with less features enabled?
I'm just looking into HKSV after the recent Eufy security concern. My question is, although in HomeKit you lose certain cam features (e.g., 2 way talk), are these features still available in the Eufy app and if so, can they be managed from the Eufy app, while HomeKit is still working?
I just bought these and I connected them through the eufy app than to HomeKit and for some reason I cannot watch live video in the Apple Home app but I can in the eufy app. Do you know what might be the problem? I have the two cameras and the base in the same room as my fiber internet setup. I didn't mount the cameras yet because I wanted to test them first. My wifi and internet is very fast
are you streaming locally or remotely from apple home? remotely requires a home hub. also, make sure the cams are set to stream and or stream and or record in home app
@@AdamsTechLife I did finally get the cameras to live stream but now I cannot have them record to secure video. I have a 200gig iCloud plan so I should be able to have 5 cameras but for some reason my iCloud account thinks I have more than 5 and won't allow me to add anymore cameras unless I delete some or upgrade to the next plan that gives you unlimited cameras. I only have one other camera hooked up. Even Apple tech can't figure it out. They think maybe because I had to uninstall and reinstall the eufy cams a bunch of times they got stuck in my iCloud. I even tried to completely remove efuy from my phone and factory reset the homebase2 but no help. Do you have any suggestions?
I have a bunch…offline issue usually means a range issue, the cameras could be too far from the base or not strong enough wifi coverage where the cameras are placed. I’ve seen that be an issue before
Hi there, Can we use Google Cloud instead of Apple iCloud? I have Apple but I prefer using Google One 2TB cloud so that I wanna know if that works as well in this case or not.
Where I plan to mount my camera, there is a homekit-controlled outlet for my Christmas lights. It is on from sunset to 10 p.m. Do you know if that would work?
I have a eufy 2c set up, the range is deplorable the backdoor camera is 18' to 20' feet away (via one brick wall) from the base and impossible to get any closer. The base is connected to the router via a lan cable. The cameras do not connect to the base via wifi but on eufy's own signal that is not a standard wifi frequency. So long story short I have a 2 camera set up that only has 1 camera 100% of the time and the second camera for less than 25% of the time all in all pretty disapointing for the cost of the set up in the UK! Please note eufy/anker did send a replacement camera but still has the same results.
I have cured the problem at my ow expense. I purchased a tp-link repeater/extender (the one reccomended as compatible with my router) with an ethernet port . The base unit could be moved closer to the backdoor camera while still in range of the front and the base unit plugged to the extender and all is fine ATM.
sort of. you can create an automation to have it turn off in the home app based on if you're home or away or record/stream only. pretty sure live feed still visible from eufy app even if turned off in home app. the security modes are not available in the home app.
I'm trying to figure out which is better Eufy or Arlo. Seems cheaper Eufy is not better than Arlo being expensive. I need 4 cams for starters with options to add more cams, no monitoring fees, with front and back door sensors. Oh and dependable. I need help.
Thank you for your swift response and please continue the good work you are doing to inform us! Also can you do a review on the eve flood light outdoor camera?
Just set the same camera up with my HomeKit. But I am getting an intermittent “not responding” in HomeKit on all devices. My hard wired indoor camera work fine.(works fine in eufy app) Have you had this issue and how do I fix it?
I haven't, but make sure there is good wifi range to the outdoor camera. If the live stream is fine from the eufy app but no in HomeKit, i'd try either restarting the hub or re adding to HomeKit.
If I provide continuous power supply through USB and keep it connected, will that work? Just like Google nest cam, you can connected power supply to wireless and it will always have 100% power. Any idea if eufy will work that way?
Hello friend I have such a camera but I don't have this homebase 2 I can get Telekom SmartHome base 2 can you tell me if it would work with this camera because I can't buy the original controller
Thank you for the informative video! Seeing as it’s been a while, have any of the HomeKit issues you mentioned been resolved with an update? It would be great to know and maybe consider pinning the comment if there have been updates so others will know. Thanks again!
Do I understand correctly that these cameras are only for outdoor use? I want something that I can place two cameras outdoors and at least one or two indoors.
I have had two of these cameras for one year. They worked until recently, but now I am having significant problems between the base unit and the cameras. I am having to reset these three or four times a day. they are now more trouble than they are worth. Nothing has changed in the setup - the cameras are within ten feet of the base. don't waste your money.
hi, are you using HomeKit Secure video ? The cams won't connect to the base ? Between the base and the cams, they transmit at < 1ghz, could there be interference ?
Love the review. Question. So if im placing the camera around 40 feet or a bit more and im worried about the connection dropping off, i should buy a router to complement the base of EufyCam? And if so, which one do you recommend?
hi, can you explain a little bit more about the spotlight feature? if you enable the spotlight in the eufy app, does it stay enabled when you add them to homekit? does this spotlight only work in a toggle function as to why you say it's not exposed to homekit, because the toggle function is not available? can the spotlight be enabled like the night vision function from other cameras where it automatically activates when it starts recording at night, or maybe when the light is low?
Spotlight is not available in home app, only eufy app. It can turn on when motion detected at night, configured in the eufy app. Thanks for watching! 😊

Hey I got 2 of the outdoor cameras I believe you had in one of your older videos (Solo OutdoorCam C22) and one of them is having a weird problem. I was wondering if you might know what is wrong. We’ve only had them plugged up for about two weeks and all the sudden the one for the front door stopped saving anything to the microSD card and keeps constantly sending notifications for “sound detected” when there’s nothing there. So much so that we had to turn Sound Detection off. Do you know why it’s doing this? Is the camera faulty? I’ve emailed eufy support and am waiting for them to respond.
Hello, thanks for your comment. It sounds like it could be defective. I’d try factory resetting it and if that doesn’t work then I’d recommend exchanging it. Thanks for watching! 😊
All the features sound cool and all... I encourage those who want to buy Eufy products, if you live near high traffic areas, do your research by visiting their community forums as their software has many bugs; only detects human when should be all, detects everything when it should be humans, nigh vision does not turn off, etc. The motion sensor, IMO, is hit or miss, activation lags about three to five seconds. If one camera is recording, the other one will not, is hit or miss. The app needs improvement.
U say in oder to see your footage we have to pay a $10.00 fee ? So if we buy a 3 cam that means to get a 4rth cam we have to buy another base ? Can we view footage on our flat screen t.v. ?
I have Arlo, 4 cameras and everything else is HomeKit. We want another camera, would you buy a two pack of eufy and use in HomeKit or would you stay away today? Matter for other cameras realistic seems a long way off…
@@AdamsTechLife doesn’t the light trigger from motion. So whichever app you view your footage on (Eufy or home) would have colour footage? Or are you referring to manually being able to trigger the motion light on only from Eufy app?

Thanks for this video as I’m trying to decide on some basic home cameras. This helps confirm that Eufy is probably a good choice. Thanks again.
Hello Kord, glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
Can you add solar charging for the cameras? Tinker with the memory and add more local storage by soldering a bigger memory?
solar charging - yes. tinker with memory - doubt it and not recommended.
Thanks for the great video. You demonstrated that you can view the live feed from cellular network. But can the recording clips from the home base be viewed from outside the home Wi-Fi ? (Via cellular instead )
Yes as long as the base is online you can do everything from cellular connection. Thanks for watching! 😊
just bought one for the back prob use the 2k bell for front camera can add another if wanted
Nice setup! Thanks for watching! 😊
Hi @AdamsTechLife do you know if higher resolution recording is now available in HomeKit
Nope, only 1080p supported :/
I’d like to but 2 Camera’s + basic Station + eufyCam doorbell (wireless ver.).
Do I need to have 2 basic stations?
Thanks for our answer
No, one base can cover it all. Thanks for watching! 😊

Hello Adam, great video.
Have any of the negative problems been fixed since this video? Like if the home kit has added more features or less battery drain?
Also can these cameras like some Arlo auto zoom in on faces?
Those issues are still not fixed and cannot zoom in on faces. I didn't know that about arlo, that's really cool!
3 months is good, just a limit be aware of. Thanks for watching! 😊
Yes exactly.
That is odd...could be a bad unit. Thanks for watching! 😊
On Amazon it says no monthly cost or hidden fee and you just said you need to pay to view your clips or have I missed something?
no monthly cost or hidden fee to view footage from eufy cameras. some brands charge for cloud video storage. eufy does not.
@@AdamsTechLife oh I see thanks for your help mate good helpful video 👌🏻
Do you get 2K image quality when using the 2C Pro? (With home kit I mean)
Do you still need the homemade 2 if using HomeKit ?
no, 1080. and yes, the hub is needed to connect to apple home :)
Great review man! Thank you!
Hello Josh, glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you~ Do I need anything special to use these with HomeKit? I know I need the home base.
I have Humans only alerts, no red status light, 4 on sensitivity and no Home Kit connected.
could be defective unit or an issue with settings. i would reach out to eufy.
@@AdamsTechLife Ok, thanks Adam. So if I run them from the Eufu App is it ok to add another camera so there's 5? (instead of 4)
Thanks for the great video. I consider to buy these set, but as I can see the video you recored 2 years ago - maybe you've got some advice to buy something different?

Adam, is the solar panel just for one camera or can I power 2 cameras with one panel? Thanks.
One panel per camera. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thanks for the detailed info. but
1. Where doest it store the videos?
2. is there any Sd card slot? or will it save it on our Mobile phone?
3. Do we need to pay for cloud storage? hpw to set that up? and is that free?
Thanks in advance
these questions are answered in the video
#1) Many changes to app since video posted. Functionality differs w/ Google Home + Amazon Alexa. HomeKit might have some nice extras but creates more problems than it solves. An updated 2023 review on ALL THREE is needed! :D
#2) 16GB storage in Homebase 2 + 3. v2 states it supports USB but seems was withdrawn later. v2 supports NAS or Cloud ($$). v3 Supports USB3 + SATA2 + NAS + Cloud ($$). I wish all this information was in ONE place for all the Eufy range. Plus updated every 3 months.

Thanks a lot for the detailed information ! Much appreciated ! 🙏
Thanks
Yeah having different motion zones set in different will confuse the camera. Id say pick an app and see how it works. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife update: only having one motion zone seems to fix the problem 🙌🙌
Hi, your tutorials are fantastic.
Do you think it's possible to watch Synology Surveillance cams through the Apple TV? Also, could you explain the funcion IF-THEN-ELSE? I'd like to create a shortcut to pair the Apple remote play/pause button with Philips Hue lights. I want tho create a shortcut that enables two different light scenes using the play/pause remote button. Thank you.
I’m not sure how synology works 🤷🏼♂️ Thanks for watching! 😊
Yes you can add NAS to base station
Hi would like to know if you still can use the camera as it's charging or will it stop?
you can use a solar panel to keep it charged while being used or you could run a mico usb cable indoor to work as well (if you have an outdoor cable)
Please help me. I can't set up the camera to record for a longer duration. It usually records only for 20 seconds. The saved videos are too short. Why is that?
check the camera recording settings. i use optimal surveillance. optimal battery life records for 20 seconds.
What does mean using the cameras as HomeKit? I'm confused. Which is better?
HomeKit is apple’s smart home platform with its own specific features. You can use eufy cams in eufy app only and apple’s home app if you like. Both have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife oh ok, if I have Android what camera do you recommended in the same range of this Eufy's? Or can I use Android too with less features enabled?
5:58 what do u mean by HomeKit?
The apple home app
@@AdamsTechLife ohhh ok. I just use their eufy app.
I'm just looking into HKSV after the recent Eufy security concern. My question is, although in HomeKit you lose certain cam features (e.g., 2 way talk), are these features still available in the Eufy app and if so, can they be managed from the Eufy app, while HomeKit is still working?
Yes and yes
@@AdamsTechLife Thank you!! This is great news.
Can you use the cameras without the home kit because I don't have a modern I only have a pocket wifi which I am using with security cameras
yes

Do you have any suggestions?
hi guys, what is the max of Eufycams do you have ? Mine keep going offline in Apple TV with latest TVOS
I have a bunch…offline issue usually means a range issue, the cameras could be too far from the base or not strong enough wifi coverage where the cameras are placed. I’ve seen that be an issue before
Hi there,
Can we use Google Cloud instead of Apple iCloud? I have Apple but I prefer using Google One 2TB cloud so that I wanna know if that works as well in this case or not.

Where I plan to mount my camera, there is a homekit-controlled outlet for my Christmas lights. It is on from sunset to 10 p.m. Do you know if that would work?
What are you trying to do? I don’t quite understand the question. These cameras are wireless. Thanks for watching! 😊
Yeah brick will for sure destroy the signal. All cameras struggle with that. Thanks for watching! 😊
I have cured the problem at my ow expense. I purchased a tp-link repeater/extender (the one reccomended as compatible with my router) with an ethernet port . The base unit could be moved closer to the backdoor camera while still in range of the front and the base unit plugged to the extender and all is fine ATM.
Does geofencing work to activate and disarm cams in HomeKit?
sort of. you can create an automation to have it turn off in the home app based on if you're home or away or record/stream only. pretty sure live feed still visible from eufy app even if turned off in home app. the security modes are not available in the home app.
I'm trying to figure out which is better Eufy or Arlo. Seems cheaper Eufy is not better than Arlo being expensive. I need 4 cams for starters with options to add more cams, no monitoring fees, with front and back door sensors. Oh and dependable. I need help.
Sounds like Eufy meets all criteria. No monthly fees is the biggest difference. Thanks for watching! 😊
Bro. Great video. So what would you suggest today for a best HomeKit outdooor camera?
Thank you! My thoughts are the same tbh, I like eufy still and use them.
Any idea if eufy will work that way?
if the cord you're using is weatherproof then yeah, otherwise the eufy solar panel could be a better option
@@AdamsTechLife thank you
Thanks for the details!
Hello Kaden, glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
How did you get this to work on Homekit? It's not one of the compatible cameras listed.
I followed the steps in the eufy app. it's an official homekit device. on apple's site it's listed as "eufySecurity eufyCam 2C series"
Hello friend I have such a camera but I don't have this homebase 2 I can get Telekom SmartHome base 2 can you tell me if it would work with this camera because I can't buy the original controller

Do I understand correctly that these cameras are only for outdoor use? I want something that I can place two cameras outdoors and at least one or two indoors.
They can be indoor/outdoor mounted on a wall or something. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching! 😊
hi, are you using HomeKit Secure video ? The cams won't connect to the base ? Between the base and the cams, they transmit at < 1ghz, could there be interference ?
Will the alarm system ring the phone or just send a push notification when movement is detected? Thank you.
Will send alert and can make a sound if your phone is not on silent. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife Adam, do you know of another alarm system that will ring the phone instead of sending a one ping push notification?
So if I buy 2c with 4 cams , that's mean I can add more cams without getting another base ?
if you’re using them in HomeKit, no. if not on HomeKit, then yes.
Love the review. Question. So if im placing the camera around 40 feet or a bit more and im worried about the connection dropping off, i should buy a router to complement the base of EufyCam? And if so, which one do you recommend?
The eero 6 or 6 pros are excellent options. Sounds like multiple points would work well for this. Thanks for watching! 😊
hi, can you explain a little bit more about the spotlight feature? if you enable the spotlight in the eufy app, does it stay enabled when you add them to homekit? does this spotlight only work in a toggle function as to why you say it's not exposed to homekit, because the toggle function is not available? can the spotlight be enabled like the night vision function from other cameras where it automatically activates when it starts recording at night, or maybe when the light is low?
Spotlight is not available in home app, only eufy app. It can turn on when motion detected at night, configured in the eufy app. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife thanks for your reply. If you configure it as on in the eufy app, then connect it to homekit…does the spotlight come on at night when motion is detected?
Hey Adam, I recently bought these cameras as I wanted something that would work well with HomeKit. I’ve emailed eufy support and am waiting for them to respond.

maybe, maybe not...the video might answer your question ;)
All the features sound cool and all...
I encourage those who want to buy Eufy products, if you live near high traffic areas, do your research by visiting their community forums as their software has many bugs; only detects human when should be all, detects everything when it should be humans, nigh vision does not turn off, etc.
The motion sensor, IMO, is hit or miss, activation lags about three to five seconds. If one camera is recording, the other one will not, is hit or miss. The app needs improvement.
Thanks for watching! 😊
U say in oder to see your footage we have to pay a $10.00 fee ? So if we buy a 3 cam that means to get a 4rth cam we have to buy another base ? Can we view footage on our flat screen t.v. ?

Hi Adam. Great video! Just want to clarify, is HomeKit vs Homekit Secure Video different for this device? I'm asking because I want to be subscription-free. Thanks!
If you want to see clips in the Apple home app, you’ll need HKSV (fee required). If don’t want to pay a fee but still want to see past recordings, then the free eufy app is the only way to go. The home app will still steam for free tho in the home app. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! 😊
What’s the point of using home kit or whatever that is when the eufy app is just fine and has more features?
