Fantastic review...!!! You have covered most of the relevant features of the camera. Very thorough.... Really appreciate your effort and the great review...👍👌👏👏👏
@lifehackster, do you know the Eufycam homebase 2 has a major flaw in that it must have an active Internet connection otherwise it will not record footage. Its worth you testing this as it's quite significant security flaw for a local storage device. I have the homebase 2 with the 2 and 2c cameras, if the incoming (provider) signal is lost to the home router, the Eufycam status indicator changes to red and it stops recording any movement footage from the cameras. I'd be interested if you tried it with yours and posted your results. Thanks. PS. Your Reviews are fantastic, keep up the good work 👍
Wondering why there was no reply to your question, this is a MAJOR problem for a security camera. I was just about to get the system, now it came to a screeching halt.
Hi lifehacker.. Great videos.. I just can't decide between eufy 2c and blink xt2... I am going to use one in back yard and other in front driveway/yard..
Hi... Great reveiws... Top notch.. Can I ask you what is the best WiFi cam for night vision..? Likin the Eufy but you said some where better... Keep up the good work. 👍
Hi, I was wondering if this would work without Ethernet cable? My house has the router installed on the ceiling so can’t connect the Ethernet cable to the base.
Dude, your reviews are excellent. Thank you for taking the time to do such in depth analysis, and also being consistent with each camera system. However if it was your choice would you buy the Cam E or the Cam C2? Watching your reviews I have decided to give Arlo a miss and go for the Eufy but I am now undecided which one to go for. I hope they add single cameras to the C2 as I need 6 cameras in total. I am in the UK and the UK site seems to be a long way behind the US site. Again Thanks
Thank for the reply fella. However if it’s just the light issue as to why you would choose the Cam E I’m a little baffled as the Cam E doesn’t have a light? However the 2C has better features and a usb upgrade stick for memory is about to be released. So I decided in the end to get the 2C before I saw your reply. Oh well time will tell as it’s not in the UK until weds next week to which I shall do a review for us UK guys
I have spoken to Anker today and the CS assistant said she did not know there was a problem with the light coming on with detection. My unit does not arrive until Weds so can you check one thing for me. She said in the settings there is a switch to turn on and off the light when 'recording'. Has she got an upgrade firmware or does your system have that slifer as well?
Another great review as always from LIFEHACKSTER! Ok so since you have both the CAM E and the 2C and have reviewed them which would you prefer and recommend? I'm ready to purchase some Eufy Cams but since this one came out I can't decide now between them both lol. Thanks my dude!
Santino Garcia I’m on the same boat but based off what I am seeing I think I’m going to go with the E. The C was a contender with the improved IP rating and price but doesn’t provide enough as the E with battery/features.
Another candidate is the newly released eufy cam 2. I am expecting a review from Lifehackster:) but I think I will buy them first since the Black Friday is approaching.
Currently using Arlo Pro. Bought Arlo Pro 2 for the 1080p but cancelled my order as soon as a I saw the Eufy 2c. Will compare image quality and hopefully Eufy gets the spotlight to work with motion detection. That would be awesome.
I have Eufy Cam 2C. In my experience the night vision is not as good as Blink or Yi, but it is true that when the spot light is on, it is better than either Blink or Yi.
Thanks for the video .... a question this device records the videos when you order it, I mean it doesn't record 24/24 and it records it on your phone ??? .... thank you.
I installed an Emulator to run Eufy on my desktop Computer, gives greater detail & easier to follow instructions for setups & reference to Eufy. If anyone is having problems with Wi-Fi on a new installation: it took about 3weeks in operation before the base station2 was able to identify the Wi-Fi connection, then was OK.

Hi lifehacker.. Great videos.. I just can't decide between eufy 2c and blink xt2... I am going to use one in back yard and other in front driveway/yard..
Thanks - I've been waiting for this review. Keep up your great work 👍.
Thank you.
Great video! Any plans on a review for Eufy Cam 2? Would love to have that to finalize my decision on which eufy I'll be getting.
Thanks in advance
I’ll see..but the main difference between the Eufy 2 and the Eufy E is the AI and this 2C has it..which is just ok..
@@LifeHackster Eufy 2 also has a better Sony sensor.
Thank You for another very nice review, Cheers
You are welcome.
Great work with this comprehensive review. Appreciated!!!!
At this time, I’ll go with the camE until eufy fixes the light detection issue..
@@PegasusDroneMedia what is the update? I am planning to get 2c.
Fantastic piece of work Life Hackster. Thank you, very informative. Wouldn't mind if you added a comment in relation to the battery life of this unit.
You are the best this was very detailed information.
I know the Eufy cam E has been reliable..but the price of the C2 is pretty good too.. I just hope the eufy fixes the light issue soon.
Great review!
You do a good job dude. Thanks.
Outstanding video bro salamat !
Excellent helpful video. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the review. What happens to the recordings, if an intruder steals the HomeBase????
@lifehackster what does happen?
@@isak6626 Burglar comes back the next night , and gets the cameras!
Currently using Arlo Pro. Bought Arlo Pro 2 for the 1080p but cancelled my order as soon as a I saw the Eufy 2c. Will compare image quality and hopefully Eufy gets the spotlight to work with motion detection. That would be awesome.
@E46ZHP The spotlight does currently work with motion detection.
I have Eufy Cam 2C. In my experience the night vision is not as good as Blink or Yi, but it is true that when the spot light is on, it is better than either Blink or Yi.
Thanks for the video .... a question this device records the videos when you order it, I mean it doesn't record 24/24 and it records it on your phone ??? .... thank you.
It records to the base station.
This was a great Review!
Good review. I have question: so the homebase has to be in range with the camera?
I installed an Emulator to run Eufy on my desktop Computer, gives greater detail & easier to follow instructions for setups & reference to Eufy. If anyone is having problems with Wi-Fi on a new installation: it took about 3weeks in operation before the base station2 was able to identify the Wi-Fi connection, then was OK.
Thanks for a great, in- depth review. I love my Arlo's but if they don't come down on the pricing soon, I might be tempted to give these a try.
Arlo is a total rip off especially the ultra IMO. Can get it’s full features unless you pay a subscription
What are the ways to get by this camera. Like if you turn off the router will it still record? And will it send update when unplugged?
Did you fix the light on the camera so it comes on at night by itself with the motion sensor?
Just purchased this product and love the review. Have they fixed the PIR spotlight motion issue you found during your testing?
Yes, they did.
Hi, Great vid. How often does the alarm go off. Can I set the alarm to not go off? Or does it always go on when the motion sensor is detected? Or?
You can set it not to go off in the security section on the app.
Very informative, thanks for you hard work...🤙
Thank you for the AWESOME review
Very very in depth review, really liked the video.
Great review man. Good job.
Great review i'm sold 👌
Love your testing methodology. Great job!
