As far as I know, it's the same, except that when you're training the rears, you will do right outer, then right inner, then left outer, then left inner to account for the additional two tires.
just put new aftermarket wheels and tires on. Was OEM.. went through the process 6 times now. Letting 10-15 psi out of left front and never beeps. Then Says failed, every time. Wondering if the retailer put the TPMS in before installing tires…
Sounds like you need to give them a call. If the TPMS are still in your original wheels and your invoice for your new ones does have new sensors on it, you likely don’t have them now.
This will work on brand new Fords after you take them out of transport mode and it asks you to train the tires, its a pain in the ass but if you get trucks that dont go through a dealer or Ford service department this is how to do it.
Just tried this repeatedly today. Did exactly what you said. The prompt said to begin to train first tire, drivers side front. Did that until horn beeped. Went to check to see what dash said and it says training unsuccessful and to repeat. We tried to let more air out again but nothing. Then we filled the tire back up and started the process all over again with the driving 20 for 2 minutes. After getting the horn to beep again in the first tire it says same thing. Training unsuccessful. Any ideas? Just a girl trying real hard here lol.
How long did it take for the horn to beep while you were letting air out? It may have been timing out while waiting. I recommend making sure you’re fully depressing the valve stem core to make sure air is coming out as fast as possible. What is the reason for needing to perform the procedure? Did you have new sensors installed or just a tire rotation, etc?
@@stuffyoucando2 it’s been like this since the winter. Just not had an opportunity to try to reset. I believe it could have happened after our last service at the dealership when we got our tires rotated. The sensor didn’t go off right after the rotation though. We do not drive it often it is used mainly during camping season. It’s a 2017 with just 36,000 miles. I am using just the tire pressure gage to release the air and it does take a long time for the horn to blow once we start letting air out of tires. I appreciate any help.
@@ginaford3679 I think you should try using a different method to let the air out, like a small flathead screwdriver to push in the stem to help it get out faster. If that doesn’t work then it sounds like you need to replace your TPMS sensors, they are getting up there in age on a 2017.
Good video. I have a 2021 f250, I rotated my tires a few days ago and I said damn my sensors are going to be all screwed up. Within 2 miles down the road everything was synced in together .
I doubt they are, try putting air in one of the tires and if you have the screen that shows the pressures, see if it actually matches the one your putting air into. Chances are it doesn’t match.
@@stuffyoucando2 well I had to air up the tires that I moved from front to back and the reverse of back tires moved to front . Rear calls for 80 and front 70 psi. I put 1 pound too much in passenger rear going by my dash read out . I let 1 pound out and it changed on my dash .
@@stuffyoucando2 I'm 100% sure I didn't write a wrong. I tow a travel trailer and I'm always checking my pressures manually and buy the trucks read out . What year is your truck ?
@@lucashack5318 I didn’t. Air was still being removed from every tire when the horn sounded. You can hear both the air and the horn clearly. The first tire I did start to unscrew the tool as it sounded but was still removing air.
@@lucashack5318 it can vary, as you can see in the video some took longer than others. Are you actually getting it into training mode? You also need to make sure that air is coming out at a decent rate, if it sits there a long time without seeing air removed it will time out.
Thank you! Clear, concise, and you didn't tell us about your childhood and life choices like some instructional videos do. 😂
This doesn’t just work with ford trucks, it can work with other fords, I have a 2010 Ford Fusion and it worked
Thank you this helped me out a lot.
Thanks for the video. Would you know how to do this procedure on a 2022 Ford Transit 350 HD which has dual wheels in the rear?

What years is this good for?
Did you hit OK when the screen says Train Left Front Tire or just leave the screen on?
You don’t need to, you can just move on with the procedure.

Does this work if you replace an old sensor to a new one from a tire?
No, that requires a different procedure.
I put new sensor and valve I. Tire it won’t recognize new one when I do this it says it’s preprogrammed
Helllllp what is the mhz for the autel to program it

Tried this on my 19 Fusion And went from 38 pounds of pressure to almost 12. And nothing ever happened No honking Period Told me to retrain

In letting air out the tires but nothing is happening any help?
Did you get confirmation on the dash that you’re in training mode?
Hi there with the Ford fusion doesn’t work
Horn doesn't sound on the 4th wheel.
In your case, or in general? It does in this video…
will it work for a new sensor?
As far as I know, no. New sensors need to be activated.
Will not beep or do anything when letting air out of my tires
Then you must not be in the training mode.
