  • This is a how to video for solving a Tire Pressure Sensor Fault (TPMS) on a 2015 F150. I show how to relearn and reset the TPMS using a tire pressure gauge and compressor to air back up. I also highlight the results of finding a bad TPMS sensor in one wheel.

    Thx, this was short and to the point. I think it's sad that now it'll cost you and me almost $500 dollars to have all four sensors replaced. I wish they didn't install these on my 2015 F150. I know you can buy tools that break the tire bead and replace the sensors, but you need another tool to recalibrate for the final steps. Many Thanks.

      @jacobsupgrades  10 месяцев назад

      @markseifried3959, I know it's a bummer having them replaced. I tried to time it when I was having new tires installed. I'm still dealing with a bad sensor after having them replaced. Not sure if one was bad from new or it's my Body Control Module. I could be wrong but I think all new vehicles are required to have TPMS sensors for safety reasons.

    Jacob's Upgrades, thank you very much for info. I had my passenger rear tire give me the warning right before I was going to drive 380 miles. I trained each tire monitor, and all is good now (single honks) :). I do wonder though, My F150 is 2015 Platinum and wondering if I should just get all four sensors. I think I'll just put the sensors under "mind monitoring" and if I get a second warning, replace all four sensors. Thanks again! Nice job!

      The reason is your battery for the sensor is getting old and may need to be replaced soon. New sensor will do it right away and old one will take a while to honk. This is how you know you will need to replace the sensor in the near future as the battery is dying.

      The other weird thing I had A couple weeks ago was the top track holding my rear slider in place completely separated from the inside of the window.
      If you have that issue need primer for the plastic track so that the polyurethane can adhere to it properly.

    Wow! What a great video. I have a 2016 F150 and need to go thru this same proces. But after going thru the process, if I do find a bad sensor (double honk), if I can't replace it myself easily, I will go without, I'll tell you why. I don't need a sensor to tell me my tire pressure is low. I've grown up with nobody telling me to check my tire pressure. It's inherently automatic. You own a vehicle, check the pressure. Have we grown up in society and lost all common sense? I know, there's a sensor to tell you to change your dirty oil. Do we really wait for a sensor to tell us to change the motor oil, or be smart about it and keep a small notebook on oil changes in the glove box, and keep track youirself? When does it end where there's a sensor built into your underwear band to tell you when to pee? We're supposed to be smarter with each generation of people born, yet the engineers treat you like you're totally stupid. Well, the jokes on them because they can't even design a sensor without it growing faulty before the vehicle is no longer usable. THUMBS UP!!!

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades  10 месяцев назад

      @lostinmyspace4910, I agree these sensors are a pain to deal with. Even after having all 4 of mine replaced I'm still getting the sensor fault message. I'm still trying to resolve this but I think it may be due to a bad Body Control Module or a bad sensor installed. Keep in mind if you just ignore these you'll constantly get the TPMS sensor fault message popping up on your screen.
