    Hey Jacob, what was your overheating issue? I am having the same problem. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, and radiator with electric fans.

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades 4 дня назад

      @warnermeneses, I wasn't able to narrow it down to one particular issue, but it could have been the radiator. I was still overheating after overhauling the cooling system. Once I installed after market gauges I found out its actually not overheating and it's running fine. I think my gauges have been wrong the whole time even though it had a new temp sender. Next time I would recommend after market gauges first before anything.

    • @warnermeneses
      @warnermeneses 2 дня назад

      @@jacobsupgrades Thank you for the feedback. I am going to try the aftermarket gauges and diagnose a blown head gasket. I saw that you replaced the timing chain, did that help with engine performance?

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades 2 дня назад

      @@warnermeneses yes, it seemed to run much smoother with the new timing chain, the old one was pretty worn. It's hard to say if one particular part made the difference in overheating since I replaced all of those at once. But I think if I put the gauges in first I would have had a better baseline to go off of. I was also seeing white smoke which made me think head gasket but it turns out that was from transmission fluid dripping onto the exhaust and burning off.

    Good video, thank you. Couple questions: 1. Did you leave that in-line filter installed indefinately? 2. Can you change the filter without removing the grill again?

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades 8 дней назад

      @@tfoz2235 thank you! Great questions. 1. I planned to leave it and replace it after a few years. After 3 years this last winter I noticed leaking transmission fluid in my driveway during -15F temps for multiple days. I traced it down and found the filter had gathered moisture and froze up causing a leak. I ended up buying a new transmission line and replacing it with no filter. 2. No I had to remove the grill again. After doing it once it's pretty easy to pull it all apart again. I took that time to clean my ac condenser and radiator really well. Just make sure you don't get moisture in the active grill shutter plug or ambient air temp plug like I did. I threw some codes and had to dry them out really good. If I were to do it again I wouldn't install the filter unless you think you're having issues with your transmission. In reality changing the transmission filter and putting fresh fluid in should do the trick and no need for an in line filter.

    Hi Jacob I have 2020 F150 xlt and replaced my factory steering wheel with a carbon fiber one. I disconnected the battery before the process. After I re installed everything and ensured proper connection i am getting abs, steering assist fault, 4x4 fault. I tried to clear the DTCs using the FOrscan but still keep getting the same code. It may have been mentioned in previous comments, but it is easy to tap the "ears" of the shock mounts to open them up a bit. The shocks go in super easy afterwards. Great video.

    Definitely ordered the funnel you suggested to free up a hand when adding the new oil. I always pre-fill the oil filter when its on the bottom of the engine, but I do not see the value when its on the front of the engine and oriented horizontally. Also, I highly recommend adding a Fumoto drain valve to make future oil changes even easier.

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades Месяц назад

      That tall flo tool funnel is really helpful, works great for filling transmission fluid too. I see your point on prefilling the filter if it's horizontal you do loose oil. I at least like to get the filter media to soak up some oil before installing to minimize air pockets. I'll check out the drain plug you mentioned.

    Man I have mine for a month now I live in Florida and I can’t believe I’m getting water in the bed . I understand some water since is not a real seal cover but I’m having water in from multiple places. I already replaced the bed rails trim thinking it was that but nop. I’m talking rain water not pressure washing water .

      @idontcaresapo8233, was this during Hurricane Debby, or just any rainstorm? I wonder if you tighten down the latch points if it will secure your gasket better. What truck do you have it on? I'm sure if you reach out to Worksport they may have some good trouble shooting tips.

      Glad to help out! One thing I would recommend is spraying down the whole bumper with a good primer before applying the paint coat. I've had the plastic step pad wear down the paint and cause some rusting. I plan to make a follow up video showing this. It could also be attributed to my painting environment.
