This guy is the Goat of Ford I love how he explains what he is doing I love seing your videos I hope you never stop
Worked great on my 09 Explorer. Got the tool for like $25 and all 4 sensors for $200. Spent $225 vs $400+. So I’m very happy to have saved $175+.
Thanks!!
Tool worked perfectly.
Bought it on E Bay for $13
Thank you as always
Excellent video. Bought the sensor tool 3 years ago after seeing this video but didn't have to use it until this morning. Worked perfectly.
I was about to return some new sensors in my aftermarket wheels until I watched this. Turns out the air pressure method is for sensors already synced. This method worked great to sync my new sensors. Thanks man!
its about 7 years after this video was posted, but it just helped me out! ordered some new wheels and tires for my F150. the website suggested i purchase that tool, but it didnt give any instructions for it so i didnt purchase one. was gonna just have a shop do it, but now i can buy the tool and i dont have to pay the shop fee and whatever labor they'd charge to do a 5 minute job.
May God bless you!
That's all I can whish for someone who sincerely teaches others!
Awesome video. I have used the tool before and it always works. Thanks for the information about lowering the tire pressure. Never heard of that before.
I am truly greatful to you sir. I just programmed my tpms to my 2010 F150 FX4 5.4L. Worked like a charm.
May God richly bless you with health, wisdom and more knowledge even to know about the Creator of the universe.
I have a 2012 f350 also a 2014 f350 and I hate whenever I rotate tires the light comes on. Will this tool help me relearn sensor locations so the light will go off.
Exactly what I needed to know! Thank you so much for this excellent video!!
I bought this tool 8 years ago and never used it. Your instructions were spot on and worked great to reset my TPMS error after swapping wheels thank you!
for which vehicle
Thank you sir, this saved me so much time and money. This device here in Canada from Ford company is $95.00. It worked. thanks.
Thank you sir. Got the sensor error after rotating the tires on my 2012 Lincoln MKZ and this procedure probably took me no more than 3 minutes. Super simple.
Man, I can't thank you enough for helping us out. I just did exactly what you instructed and it never felt so good like getting that stupid light of my dashboard cluster. Thanks again
You are the man! You’re videos have saved me a lot of money. Thanks for all the info 👍🏽
Thanks VERY much for this, it cleared up 2 problems I was having:
1. The button on the (TPMS-19-8C2Z-1A203-A Transmitter) tool is pressed and released
( as in clicked, I was holding the button down.)
2. To enter training mode, I was being too slow on brake pedal/cycling the ignition key.
(2010 Ford Ranger)
Thanks I just received my relearn tool and went outside and was able to my new sensors working just fine. Thank you again.
FordTechMakuloco your videos have been essential in troubleshooting my 2009 Escape.
My Escape was manufactured 06/09 and the hazards method does work on mine.
The back left tire has been producing a fault after rotation and appears to be reading at least 2 psi low through ODBII. I ordered the TPMS19 to see if that will set it properly.
Thank you, the detailed run through of the training mode button combination was exactly what I needed!
Thank you for your videos I've learned a lot about the maintenance on my ford and am happy I found them
Worked great on my 2010 Mercury Mariner. The tool was only $28 when I bought it on Amazon April 2019.
Hi i have 2007 Ford Edge SEL AWD V6 3.5L SUV. The tire pressure sensor fault is showing on dash with tire symbol blinking. Does the tool you initially spoke on here in video actually work for my model an year Edge? Thanks for giving me few minutes of your time regarding this matter.
Thanks for the great video. I was trying to reset my TMS system due to the message I start receiving when I switched from winter to summer tires on rims on my 2010 Focus. I was pressing three times on and off the hazard light and it promoted me to the left front tire. But when I was releasing pressure it didn't honk until the pressure goes too low and it honk two times. I try this technic for a few times with the same result. Do you think I have done this wrong or I need the training tool now? Thanks in advance.
Excellent video. Question. I have a 2014 and I just purchased a used genuine set of wheels from a 2015 F150 with tpms. They were on my friends F150 but How do I get them programmed on my 2014 as it’s the previous generation ? I hope it’s compatible.
I bought that tool from a Ford dealership and it worked great. Just like you said. Thanks so much.
Thank you ☺️
I just recieved my TPMS tool in the mail today and it worked like a charm.
Hello thanks for the very informational video! I have a 2007 Parnelli Jones Mustang that just turned 12K miles that sits a lot! This winter I let it sit all winter with only starting it a couple of times. I went out the other day to start it and the battery was dead! When I put a new battery in it had a "tire pressure monitor fault" code on the dash! I had never had that before. It has the rubber valve stems! Do you think retraining the sensors is the right move based on what is going on? So would I order the one with the button in the middle? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!
Another excellent video! I was wondering if on a 2010 Focus i could use for my winter wheels a band style sensor from a 2008 Focus instead of a valve type sensor? Is the computer going to recognize them? This is a question i could not get an accurate answer. Thank you!
When in training mode will it adjust to a higher pressure? I have a 2007 f150 that I switched out to load range E tires. The dash light went off on the way home from the shop. The tires were at 38psi. I lowered them to 35 and the light stayed off. However, during towing I intend to run them around 50-60. Wondering if this method only is to identify/activate sensors or if it actually sets safe psi limits.
Dude you're a lifesaver. After trying the hazard light version of tpms learn mode (which wouldn't work no matter how many times I tried) your version of key cycles totally worked on my 17 RS! Thank you!!!!
Worked great on my 05 Aviator. I used the let air out technique with dorman sensors. Thanks for the help.
What about the spare
@@L701_TB my spare didn't have a sensor
Hello, great video. I have a 2013 Ford Edge SEL. Yesterday I just turn the engine on to drive and the error of 'faulty sensor' appeared. I don't know if this happens a lot or not in this SUV model. I will try your 'let the air out' procedure before buying the sensor training tool. Thanks a lot for your video.
Hey I've got a 2009 f150 and did the relearn trick you showed but didn't need to use the relearn tool. Just let the air out for like 5-10 seconds once your in relearn mode. Worked like a charm. My tire shop here couldn't figure it out. Thank you for this video. Super easy to do. I love when ford does stuff like this to make it easy. I wish they had a manual that showed you all the things you can program by turning a key. 🤣
Which model do you have? I have the same 09 f-150 and letting air out not working for me, not sure if I’m missing something
When I bought new tires at Discount Tires, they reset the air sensors free after correct pressure for each tire.
Do I need said tool or can I use just a magnet on my 2013 Ford Explorer? Also can the TPMS be programmed prior to installing in the tires as I've heard it's possible to receive faulty TPMS?
Great video. I have to watch it twice a year when I swap winter tires in and out. I can newer remember the key and brake pedal sequences
Thank you for the video, I tried the process with a different relearn tool and it wasn’t working so I got the little grey one instead and it worked perfectly this time, much appreciated
Hi really enjoyed your tutorial! I have a 2015 Lincoln MKC with a push button start, how do I go to the tpms learn mode on this vehicle and can I use that little gray tool with the green button for my application too?
Thanks
Hey I'm wondering if this method works for a 2009 Mercury Mariner. Thanks for the video.
Great video thanks. Is there any way to reset sensor to a lower pressure. I have an e150 2014 and the manufacturer rear pressure is 80 psi. 99.9% of the time I carry 2 toddlers in the back and that’s it. The rear seats are removed as well. Needless to say it’s pretty stiff back there. It’s much smoother when I deflate to about 65. But then I have to look at that tpms light. Also my last set of tires had center wear indicative of higher pressure. Thoughts?
Great video. Thanks for taking time
Hi, I have a 17 Explorer Sport ordered, I would like to order aftermarket wheels for it. would u be able to help me with the part # and or freq I need them to install in the aftermarket wheels.. It also says ur programming tool will not work on a 2017. Thanks for ur help
Hey Thanks for the video. Any idea about the 2005 Expeditions? I had them changed out to the newer sensors (which are suppose to be pre-programmed to your vehicle), and you just follow learning steps of your vehicle. Which in my case would be to use the magnet, but they don't work. Guess I should get and try that button showed? Thanks in advance!
Thank you. Easy and well explained. Thanks for the step by step instructions.
Great video, thank you. My question is: I’ve got a 2017 F250. I just want to get rid of the dash tire low warning light (I trained the tpms already, that’s how I know what tire was low). I had a low tire and I put air into it but the light remained on. Thanks for your videos.
I have that tool (for my 2009 Explorer) with the green button and it worked on all but one. The Left front tire. Does it mean I need to put a new sensor in it ?
Outstanding video! Thanks for showing both ways to train them.
My '08 F350 SRW rides hard with the required 80 lbs. of air in tires. Empty most of the time like most pickups. Must I buy different sensors for all the tires in order to lower the pressure to say 60 lbs.? Or can present sensors be retrained to a lower pressure? Thanks.
This is also how you clear the TPMS "error" as well. Just program each wheel as shown and you will no longer have the error on your instrument cluster.
do you know if chevys have the same procedural fixes like the release air method? like 09 chevy traverse a friend of mine has the message displayed on IC display and a -- displayed on RR side in the information mode on displayed panel
@@darrenbryant9277 I don't know
Hi, I was able to do the letting air out method to the point where the dash said training complete so I turned the key off. But when I started the car the TPMS low tire pressure warning came back on. I drove my truck a bit to see if it would turn off but it didn’t. What else could be wrong? Thanks in advance! I have a 2011 E350 Super Duty van.
I have that tool (for my 2009 Explorer) with the green button and it worked on all but one. The Left front tire. Does it mean that the sensor is bad and to install a new one ?
i have a 07 fusion that does not have the factory tpms enabled. im putting 20 inch rims on it and i would love to have the tpms system up. is there a way to enable the factory system or is this a missing component that was installed on thr car?
Hi, thanks for every thing. Does this tool works with expedition 2011
Thank you Brian ! I Just changed over to my summer tires, and this worked like a charm !
Will I be able to program sensors before having them installed in the tire? Can I just hold the sensor in my hand and program it?
Hi, I have a 2009 Focus SES that comes with 17" alloys ans TPMS, I bought a set of 15" rims from a 2010 Focus SE with sensors. Stock sensors are mounted inside the rim with the stainless straps, the steels I bought for the winter have the sensors on the stems. I bought the TPMS19 tool, today I tried to program the new sensors and nothing. I can get the car on learning mode no problem but no sensor gets learned, I tried even skipping driver tire in case sensor was dead. Even tried to release some air and nothing. Any idea why this is happening? I believe I checked the part number and it was the same. Thanks.
I put some F150 wheels from 2014 (stem sensor i think?) on my 2009 Expedition (band sensor)... can I make them interface, or do I need to swap sensors or Forscan the light off as my only options?
Thx
good info on TPMS. Are you still fixing Fords across the country or retired for the winter?
Thank you for uploading this great, concise video on a topic that frustrates many a car owner.
What method would a 2004 Expedition require? If I understand your video, the $35 sensor reset frequency tool is required.
Please advise if this is correct.
Thanks In Advance,
Ted
worked perfectly on my 2012 F 350, Thanks!
I think one of my sensor has a dead battery, if I replace the sensor. Do I need the activating tool to train the new sensor or will it start working as I start driving?
I have a 2008 ford focus ses I notice one day the tire pressure was low right front tire 15 psi but no low tire pressure light so I filled to 36 psi and a few days later the low tire pressure light came on and still has 36 psi light still on on I have the banned sensors. How many miles do you need to drive to register and how many miles? Also I have p215/50r/17 with 17" rims correct psi would be ?
Just purchased some tires and rims together from a 2015 Ford f-150. I have a 2014 ford F-150 do I need to change the tpms in the 2015 tires for my truck? Great video and good information
I presently have a 2014mkz I changed my rims from (19" Tyre size 245 40 19) to an 18"rim Tyre size 245 45 18...I purchased the tool an four sencorsI followed your video steps it worked and after 1 minute of driving the sensor lights came back on...can you kindly guide me on this further...
I have a related question for my 2015 Transit connect. Because it's a commercial van the system shows the low pressure warning when psi drops under 40 psi. That means I have to keep pressure at 42 or so. I never carry heavy weight, just light boxes so the ride is hard as a rock. Any way to set the low pressure warning to 32 psi so I can keep the tires at 35?
Hi , good videos , keep it up ,
I have a 2010 Ford cargo van xl ,my tire sensor light it's on , and do u have an tips on that ... other than what it was explained here , thank you !!!!!
I have a 2013 Escape and the training tool in the video. My question is when you train the TPMS system is it at the desired pressure in the tire? I have two sets of tires with different desired pressures. My summers run at 51 psi max and my winters want 44psi max. Do I have to retrain the system each season? Thx Steve from Montreal
TPMS question. I have the 2010 Ford Escape XLT. I researched and read the owners manual. Does it show how much pressure there is on each tire? Or it just turns on and says low tire pressure. Thanks for your help.
I bought a set of 4 new Motorcraft sensor's. I only go dealer on these. Anyway the Display is reading Tire Pressure Sensor Fault. Does this display when one or more sensors have failed/not communicating? Or does this display when a module for the TPMS or any fault in general occurs. I just wanted to confirm that ordering new sensors was the right way to go, or there are other possible issues. I have the ATEQ tool but it only reads the driver front wheel in learning mode. I am assuming the other 3 are bad since they won't read when you hit test or activate. I work primarily on GM but most systems are somewhat similar. Would you agree the sensors have failed. I had a generic system code on my SolusPro that online just said fault in tpms system. Thanks for your input.
as a self-teaching, Learning "Mechanic In Training" I can honestly say your videos have helped me with my Fords and sometimes even transfer the knowledge onto other brands of vehicles that my friends have me service.. I know your strictly a Ford Guru to say the least, but My customer has a 2009 chevy traverse with one TPMS Sensor not reading its the back right one as the Traverse will show TP on the instrument cluster in Information Mode.. it will display it as Rear Right: -- and have the warning check service TPMS.. this car is how i first learned how to reset the Sensors and that theres an exact procedure to ensure it registers as 1..2...3..4.. LF...RF...RR..LR.. But do u know if the air release method would work on a 09 chevy since you said that was about when the F150s started popping up around 09 as well.? tried to borrow the tool from local "o'rielys" where half the people working there are high school afficianados who im pretty sure dont own a car or even know what a car is.. but this one kid started looking on this laminated piece of paper after i asked if they loaned the relearn tool, and he only looked at one side of the paper and told me no and im not even sure if he knew what the tool was tbh. thanks
It worked on a 2008 Escape and the sensors were opposite the valve stem on this model. Thanks!
Are the newer sensors from a 2016 Expedition compatible with 2003-2006 with metal sensors? Do I have to put the older type sensors in a new set of wheels?
I've got an 08 Marquis with band sensors, I put my winter wheels on the back which are from a 2000s Explorer and also have band sensors, can I train them to the vehicle?
Thanks for that awesome info Loco
I had this problem on my 08 Explorer forever back window popping open also
I now have an 05 expedition which is giving me the same two problems 😕
I’m going to order the old-style sensor and see if I can figure the tire problem out
Thank you! Great video! Worked perfect for my 2017 Transit 250!
I have a 2010 mercury grand Marquis will this work for it. My tire sensor light flashes stays on for awhile then shuts off. I did just recently get new tires put on at a Walmart so I don't think they retrained my tpms after they installed my tires.
Awesome thanks, i ordered that little tool a few days ago and now i know how to use it once it arrives.
I am having all kinds of faults going off on my dash. We tried a different cluster and that was not the problem. It always starts with this light first so I am wondering if that is my issue. I have an 08 Taurus. I get TPM, door ajar, park brake engaged all flashig at once or staying on and then none of my signal work inside the car. Very irritating! Have you seen this before? No one can seem to figure it out. It is intermittent but when hooked up no codes are coming up.
2012 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L is it stem or band based for TPMS?
Ok. I have a 2010 Ford escape. I tried let the air out to train my tire, but that didn't work. Any other ideas? I must need to buy that tool.
Hey There. Just picked up some winter tires and rims with sensors for my 2015 Edge. Will I need the reset tool or will the letting out of the air work?
I want to try to add a tpms device to my air ride suspension system but the default pressure threshold seems to apply to two tires at a time. Any way to individually set a tpms threshold? And, any way to add two tpms devices to my ‘16 f150 Lariat? Good video.
Is there a procedure to reset the tpms light on the 2017 transit? I'm not messing with new modules and such, just possibly low on air. Is it just air up and drive or do I have to mess with this procedure??
By programming these will it then tell me which tire is low or is it still a guessing game? I own a 2014 Fusion SE Eco boost and a 2011 Focus SEL.
Nicely done video and I'm going to get the TPMS transmitter for 2011 F150 XLT. Haven't tried the remove-air method yet. Happy New Year, FTM.
i have a 2008 econoline and we didnt get the tire pressure reset tool with it for some reason what does it look like? is it that grey remote with the green in the middle
hey hello thanks for the video.
I have a question for you? , im follow all the process but in the last tire (rear left) that fail so i need to change the sensor?
Does tire pressure sensors fault impact the self leveling system on 2007 navigator?...does it preclude it from from fuel functioning?
I have a 2013 ford edge se awd. I want to put aftermarket larger wheels do i need tire pressure sensors in the aftermarket wheels. Cause when i had a flat on my passenger right and had to put the spare on my awd went crazy and turned. Inti fwd only
Need to try again on my 09 Mustang GT. I have the programming tool, and had new stem mount sensors put into all 4 wheels (they are metal stem). Went through the programming and it supposedly worked (Training Complete) but the sensor fault message continues. Any ideas?
will this work for my 09 Ford edge with 3.5L which says it has a faulty sensor
I have a 2011 Grand Marquis. I'm getting TPMS fault after about 60-80 miles of continuous driving. Will I need this device to reprogram or can I let the air out? Thanks.
Reset TPMS on my 2022 Ford Maverick to a lower psi. Thanks for the spot-on info.
I did have all 2 tires rotated, the next day the TPM tire pressure sensor fault light turn on. I followed your video, starting with the front left tire didn't peep, front right tire did 2 peeps, back right tire peep, back left tire didn't peep. 2 days later, I tired it again, same thing. I know I need to replace the tire sensors, on all 4 tires, will I be able to drive it without and problems? I heard using a tire magnet.
hello as you said about adding extra devices would this be for after market head light lenses with drl and led lights to cause tires fault i can get first tire to beep but second i cant get anything but a flat tire
Does the air release method work when installing a brand new TPMS sensor? I have a 2013 Ford focus
He didn't know the answer? This guy doesn't seem to know the answer to most questions.
Do I need the tool to reset pressure on a 2007 Ford Ranger (4cylinder), or can I reset it by turning the switch on and off 3 times. Thanks
This worked on my 2022 F-150 Raptor after nothing else would, including the hazards 3x method. Thanks!
I'm not sure if this has been asked or not but is the process the same for push button start vehicles? I have a 2014 fiesta st. Thanks
