Log file upload got the 'file problem' message. Would be surprised if Ford is even supporting uploading for this version at all, given the age of Sync 1 now.

    I wrapped my entire exhaust system from downpipe to rear mufflers for the increased internal heat and resulting exhaust velocity. I also did it to get slight acoustic benefits by adding total mass to the pipes therefore shifting the resonance point. From what I’ve read the wrap will block high frequencies not low frequencies. ( blocks rasp not bass )

    If it takes an entire tube per wheel, this design is INSANE. I have pulled trailers and worked on them my entire life and have never seen an axle that has to have ALL these grease replaced every year. Couple of pumps until you see grease come out and your done. 40 years of this process with no failures EVER until Dexter came along and i burn through a spindle because of no grease. Design failure for sure....

    Dexter says: 1. Never put your jack on the axle. It goes on the frame according to the RV manufacturer's instructions. 2. Always use a hand-operated grease gun...never electric or pneumatic. I've never used more than 1/4 to 1/3 tube on any hand-packed bearing. I'd be reluctant to use more than that...maybe it's blowing out the rear seal. My current Dexter has globs of grease in it when I remove the cap...not sure I'm going to pump that much grease into this axle.

    I added the mid strength Sumos to my 1/2 Ton GMC. There is about 3/4" space above them. I find the empty ride to be nearly the same as before. When towing my 8500-pound TT, it is more stable and rides like a dream. I use a WDH as well. There is absolutely no maintenance, and they should last as long as the truck. There is a small amount of sag but it is barely noticeable. I think the Sumo Springs are an excellent option for sag and handling safety. They were easy to install as well.

    Can you do a video where a guy like me let the spider gears drop and now I’m in a jam. I have the gears out of the diff housing now but am Leary to pull it apart more…that weird S shaped piece between the 2 axle bearings is stressing me out

    • @stuffyoucando2
      @stuffyoucando2 2 месяца назад

      Unfortunately I can’t pull mine apart to do a video on that. I had this happen to me once before when changing out an axle shaft because I forgot to elevate both wheels and I rotated the elevated side with the pin removed and didn’t realize the spider gears were coming out as I was turning it and they fell out. In my case I put them back in by placing them in the positions they were in when they fell out and rotating the wheel back the opposite way and the side gears moved them back in. It was a pain and took a few tries but worked, but I’d probably recommend watching some of the differential overhaul videos and finding that point in the process, but it will most certainly require removing that S spring.

    What kind of primer do you use? Is it really necessary or can you jump straight to paint in most cases?

    • @stuffyoucando2
      @stuffyoucando2 2 месяца назад

      I talk about this around 3:30 in the video. In this case, I didn’t need primer as the touch up kit used a paint that acted as both primer and paint. If your touch up paint isn’t that type, then I suggest using an automotive primer, available in a spray can from Rustoleum on whoever else may offer that. Since you’re repairing a chip, applying it could be done by spraying the small amount of primer into something (a cup, bowl, etc..) and using an artist’s paint brush or q-tip to apply. I hope that helps!

    I noticed on the new brake pads the squealer is on the outside vs. the inside (the side with the piston). Shouldnt the brake wear indicator/squealer go on the inside?

    • @rontan8954
      @rontan8954 2 месяца назад

      Good observation...It should be on the inside. Not sure if it's going to make any noise or anything.

    • @AshvinMakwana-d4b
      @AshvinMakwana-d4b 2 месяца назад

      @@rontan8954 it won't make any noise day to day but generally the pad that is touching the piston wears down quicker so you want that pad on the inner side.

    • @stuffyoucando2
      @stuffyoucando2 2 месяца назад

      It would still squeal once it contacts the rotor. The general idea behind putting them on the inside is that people tend to think the pad on the piston side wears faster. I’ve never observed this to be true and feel the position of the squealer is a preferential thing. Personally, I think if you solely rely on this device to tell you that your brakes need replaced, you should rethink how you maintain your vehicle. You should inspect your brakes periodically to check wear, not rely on a noise making device with questionable reliability.

    I'm just going to call you, "DUDE." Because nowhere did I see your name. You might have mentioned it at the beginning of one of your videos but I'm hard of hearing (from guns & jet engines). I'm 65 years old and not used to everything being done by a computer. My son is going to college and before he leaves, he wants to take my F-250 on a camping trip. Which is fine but I need to make sure everything is working properly before he leaves. I bought it used (2019, 6.7 Diesel). One thing I was worried about was I never have had the Key Code to the keypad on the driver's door. Big problem if he gets way out in the sticks and he's locked the keys in the cab and inadvertently locked the key inside. Lo and Behold, I found one of your videos. What a blessing kid! Your instructions are short, precise, and easy to understand! AWESOME JOB!! Thanks so much for making these videos. The key-code is now programmed, and I feel a sigh of relief that, thanks to you, the Key-Pad is now functional. I've given you all thumbs up, and I've Subscribed! Something I rarely do. Keep the great videos coming, and thanks again, DUDE!! Willy George Parker, AZ
